Cool

Jesus Christ... you are so old that you probably knew Gandalf before he had a beard. Grin

Well, I was not born in the 60s, but I am 35-years old so I'm not sure if I am that young.
P.S. Banks used to pay such %.
P.S.2. There are even loans with lower interest rate.
P.S.3. The stock market is a form of a ponzi scheme... at least in my views.
....

Pointing to number of sources would not change my opinion. There is nothing good in the inflation, and since it is considered that the "good" inflation is in the 1-2% range, you can't convince me that 7% is not an issue. Frankly speaking I am supporter of the PoS coins (no matter what their flaws are), but many of them were created with the only one thing in mind - to force people keeping their coins in the wallets thus creating lower sell pressure. I don't think that this is the case here though, because EGC's interest is not like 100%.

P.S. Don't tell me you are born in the 30s?!
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EVERGREENCOIN The Beginning of the Proof of Stake Profit Paradigm Shift ???? on: August 08, 2016, 07:36:01 AM

By looking at the graphs its market cap was like ~$2.5k back in March and it looks like a pump.

P.S. I don't consider 7% yearly interest as low. Try thinking as it is inflation and you'll get my point. Smiley

Hi spartak_t,

We had to change the VPS for the block explorer early on. It took some time to both do that and then get coinmarketcap to update to pull accurate coin supply. I do not think that data is 100% accurate, but be that as it may, March would have only been half way through the 6 month PoW which only recently ended about a month ago. So constant selling from miners only recently stopped.

We also had to hard fork because of some unintentional forks forming on the network a week before the end of PoW which, some large holders decided to sell during that turbulent time. Perhaps many did, unfortunately. Fortunately many are now coming back after the coin did prove to endure.

I understand it may look like a pump. This is a really exciting time for the project and we have many active endeavors soon to be released: new website including support tickets, android wallet, hopefully polo soon, sponsorships of a cannabis festival (a new branch only just forming of EGC), all within the next 30 days and that is only the stuff publically announced. The project has many new investors across the globe and we are planning, as of tonight, to expand that into China also. (the community will just now be learning of this)

I am not "disagreeing" with anything you have said spartak_t. Only explaining some things that a brief observation of the project might not see. I am glad you agree the 7% is not low and I hope you do not think it is too high. At the time I set the specs, 5% seemed to be an accepted norm and I hoped to raise the holding incentive some.

Thank for sharing your observations spartak_t and thank you for taking the time to read my response. Smiley

I have no deep observations on EGC since I am not following the development of your coin, but I wish you good luck if you are honest. This one can look as a shitcoin to many people, but the truth is that there is no such thing as a shitcoin, because number of coins/assets/tokens can find its niche.

EverGreencoin :  http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/evergreencoin/

110 X INCREASE in less than 3 months.
Marketcap was ~$12,000 US on June 23rd
Marketcap Today is $ 1,323,739 ,
Coin only has a supply of 13,065,963 coins and with low staking rate of only 7% Yearly , it may not be done heading for the stratosphere.
24 hour Trading Volume was $ 38,427

Has the realization finally beginning to Sink In with Crypto Investors,
That Proof Of Stake is the only Real Way to Have a Decentralized Stable Coin with a Stable investment and make Money in the long run.
A Coin that must be held to make more of itself, giving it an intrinsic value that no PoW coin can ever Possess or Match.

Or

Do you think it is merely a Short Lived Money Making Abnormally?

1506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR vs Ethereum on: August 08, 2016, 05:27:12 AM
The tech in a coin/asset/token has nothing to do with the price. That is why Bitcoin is still the King, because no one comes even close to its adoption. Personally I don't like them both (XMR and ETH). Monero because of the endless verbal wars between XMR and Dash supporters and ETH for obvious reasons.

Over the short term I would agree with you; however over the long term tech wins in the end. Bitcoin is a case in point. From late 2009 until late 2013 we saw and an exponential rise in the market capitalization of Bitcoin by a factor of 106. From late 2013 until now we have seen a flat / falling market in Bitcoin. Why because once the 1 MB blocks were filled up in early 2014 the exponential growth in the Bitcoin network was stopped in its tracks. This also stopped exponential rise in the market capitalization of Bitcoin. The underlying reason for all of this was technological; namely the fixed 1 MB blocsize limit in Bitcoin.

Interestingly XMR and ETH/ETC have one thing in common. No fixed 1 MB blocksize limit to stifle the growth of the corresponding networks.

I don't think that the blocksize is the biggest problem for Bitcoin and I'm sure that half of the people using it don't even know about that. Smiley I can somehow agree with the short/long term statement, but the truth is that cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin included) are too young so it is a bit too early to say who/what will win the "race".

Unfortunately what determines the price is not the currency is good or not, but how it is accepted by the community. Marketing is a very important thing in this market.

Of course! Whoever think different is naive. Pepsi, Coca Cola and McDonald's are good examples.

here is embodied the idea of something like this, can change everything, but the idea seems clear

Hello,

Thank you for you suggestion, but the idea is to have a simpler, yet funny logo. You wrote FAIL twice in yours, which is not needed. You can see all sugestions in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1555342.0

Thanks again,
Spartak

hi, may I suggest a small logo, simple just to pick up the color, do you mind?

Hello,

Of course nobody would mind. Thank you for your efforts!

Cheers,
Spartak
1509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The DAO FAIL on: August 07, 2016, 07:12:14 PM
That might end up as a good idea. Smiley I mean if the attacker give part of the coins in his possesion for the ETC development. It would be a good answer to what EF did. About 2 weeks ago Mr. Barry Silbert said that the first coin (other than Bitcoin), which he bought was ETC at $0.50. From what I've heard he invested 5% from his BTC, which should be a pretty big amount. This clearly shows that some serious players are supporting ETC and you can see that it has twice the trade volume of ETH (leaving conspiracy theories aside).

Hello,

32 bit version of the new FAIL wallet is now fixed! 64 bit is on the way, but no rush. In the past several weeks I am discussing FAIL involvement in a project, which might have a huge impact to the cryptocurrency world. Several members of our team already know some things (but not everything).

Stay FAILed! (i.e. tuned)

Cheers,

1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone care if ICO projects have real code and real teams behind them? on: August 06, 2016, 02:58:37 PM
ICO's are bad, but I don't mind crowdsales if the idea behind it is good. If you have your own project, and the money for it, then it's fine to launch it without outside funding and just invest in it. But not everybody can afford that. Bad thing is that in reality most of the ICO's/crowdsales/whatever are being launched for only one reason: fast profit.
1513  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DeOS (by Razormind) is most likely a scam! on: August 06, 2016, 01:49:39 PM
where is their btt thread?

I think they had one before.

The only one I found is this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=502575.0

It has been started by a user jaez, who is confirmed to be one of the Jawad's profiles here.

@Spartak
i aimed the "FUD" at you earlier as a response to your additional comment about..
"Not finding this funny"
That is another time you posted that.
Many of us do find it funny watching people get what they deserve.
I get the feeling you think they don't deserve it..
Why ?
Because you might be trying to justify "Smart contracts" or ICO's etc
Not sure how much proof we need ETH is a scam..
If it was in court i bet a conviction would be handed down.

There were people who actually believe in their project. Personally I have been scammed several times from people, which first look like a nice guys, but at the end they proved to be scumbags. And it wasn't a good feeling. How did I deserved that? I don't consider myself naive though I do tend to trust people and humanity. If you want to benefit for the better cryptoworld's future, you can just point to scams (for example) you've noticed and that's it. Making fun with the ordinary people who got involved with them (by buying) is not helping anybody.

EDIT: Btw smart contracts is a very good thing. It's just that EF guys started things badly.
1515  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 3 BTC Loan 10 days 20% interest 150% Collateral on: August 04, 2016, 01:12:43 PM
I also don't trust this one he has just shown balance which is like 4.xx but he didn't stated the site on which it is stored.
Anyone can make a proof like that.
He's trolling around to scam 3 BTC.

... yeah... in a 2-month old thread. Roll Eyes

@Spartak
I don't recall seeing you in this section much until fairly recently..
I think your attitude on this will change once you have had to suck back so much Crypto-Bullshit.
I started out with a different attitude on this stuff.  Cheesy

1. That doesn't mean anything.
2. "I know" some things and I've lost nothing in this fiasco (nor I bought any ETH, despite the fact that I expected the ICO to be a winner).
3. What attitude? I am thinking about the ordinary people. You can fuck me in the ass and I won't be annoyed, but if I see you stealing the last $5 from a 20 kg. homeless person, I would beat the crap out of you.

Like I already said - you shills can create 1000 threads about what happened, but you can't change one fact: This was a 100s of millions $ fiasco.

Don't you feel sorry for the average Joe who lost money on it? Don't you think that hurts the future of cryptoworld? Some guys should be ashamed of themselves!

There you go:

The common Joe doesn't want to read 1500 articles and 505 videos with explanations. The common Joe lost money, while they remained rich. Period.
