2081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine is now accepting cryptocurrency donations. Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT on: February 28, 2022, 01:29:45 AM
I think it's okay to be vigilant with that, but it has been verified that it is their wallet. With that aside, I'm just wondering how they would be using this? I do hope that the people or the ones providing the necessary resources for them to survive to accept BTC so that they wouldn't need to convert it into fiat or something like that.

Any news about it?
2082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Kraken CEO give a heads up to carefully use CEX on: February 27, 2022, 04:51:25 PM
I think if you are someone who is in it for the long run, then it’s better to hold on to your coins with your hardware wallet or something. Because you can never have control with your coins if it is in a centralized exchange, I think it’s not just CEX But also just centralized exchanges in general.

You wouldn’t have to worry too much if you are not doing anything wrong it’s just that it is a good practice to hold onto your coins for yourself.
2083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance donates $10 million to support Ukraine on: February 27, 2022, 04:12:47 PM
I do hope that this makes it even more to news outlets and be seen as "how?" or "what is Binance?" then people would be exposed to cryptocurrencies now and that's a great thing to have. I think that's a great thing for sure. I really hope that they manage to go to the right people and make sure that it helps the right people.

I have seen people from Russia posting that they are against what is happening, do you think that it's the same for Buterin?
2084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: there is no Play-to-Earn Game on: February 26, 2022, 02:12:56 PM
That's just it; it's still a game, though. What do you even consider it to be? I think you are just correlating the player's feelings with what they would feel if they keep on continuously playing and playing that it becomes work.

The most significant difference between what you are saying and the reality is that a job requires you to do it. Ideally, no skipping, but if you play Axie Infinity, you have a choice to do how much effort you want to reap the benefits of the tokens. I doubt companies would like that, lol.
2085  Economy / Economics / Re: Measuring crisis effects on: February 24, 2022, 02:48:58 AM
My take on this is that since the pandemic, many people have experienced a loss of income stream in one way or another. The need for money circulation has stopped, and many people requested the government to take action, and they have. The result of that is by printing more money, and they have done so, and then it solved the immediate thing in front of the problem but not thinking about the adverse effects to the economy. Inflation.

I think it's hard to take and fix what the money has gone into, but having regulations on prices can have some repercussions.
2086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: California senator filed a bill to allow payment of state services with Bitcoin on: February 23, 2022, 01:50:20 AM
I'm happy to see people supporting BTC in a position to influence the masses. Having a government position and saying that they support Bitcoin is something else. They want to be transparent as possible towards what they will do with the funds or something. It's essential for a person to be that transparent to gain the people's trust. I think that's way better than just saying what they think or something.

It can be beneficial for the government to have that as well, implementing BTC as currency.
2087  Economy / Economics / Re: OMG crypto is low ! what do i do ? on: February 23, 2022, 01:35:10 AM
Well let me tell you what you do when crypto is low (shhh don't tell anyone it's a secret ...):
I hope it's as easy as you say it like it's no biggie to create dApps, NFTs, or anything. That's just what makes it even crazier that people have been successfully doing it and making a profit from it.

I think the easiest way to profit from when crypto is down is to buy more of it. It's just easy as that. As long as you can purchase more and more of a cryptocurrency that you can manage to believe in and average all the way, that's the best.
2088  Economy / Speculation / Re: The long term way is down on: February 22, 2022, 05:42:11 PM
Depending on the long term for you, maybe you are talking about six months only, which could be the "long term" for you. And I don't think it will be reaching ATH at this time frame, but if you include years and years of it, it will be higher than the ATH. That's just being optimistic about it because I believe in it.

Just keep on purchasing and buying. That's going to be the best approach to it.
2089  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage Opportunities' on: February 22, 2022, 07:26:49 AM
Recently i have been trying to get into arbitrage trading mostly for the knowledge i will gain by doing it and if possible make some profit.
What type of Arbitraging are you talking about?
  • Interexchange
  • Intraexchange

With interexchange, it would be between two exchanges and you would interact within those two exchanges and you would have an account for the both of it.
With intraexchange, you are going to trade within 1 exchange only inside it. You would get multiple pairs that would give you opportunity. This is often called triangular arbitrage.

You cannot get free information like that and the market is often too fast for a normal human to arbitrage. I use Gunbot for my arbitrage trading called BitRage. It's an intraexchange type one for now.
2090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you consider the safety factor/risk of your invested tokens? on: February 22, 2022, 06:28:21 AM
Maybe generate a list first on how you could determine a specific token/project and then start from there. Like what are the factors that you could add and determine if it's worth investing in or not. Probably something measurable and can be used as data for calculations whether it would be for time period, invested amount, etc.

There are some possible things that you could add to your variables. Maybe try to find tools to get them
  • Number of people invested in the project/token
  • How much people have invested in the project/token
  • Security precautions of the project/token
  • History of Breaches/exploits
  • Distributed Tokens

Maybe you can start from this or something? After this can you share your project, OP?
2091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I lost +$ 20k in future, advice for newbies on: February 22, 2022, 03:05:25 AM
I think it's pretty pointless discussing rational numbers with guys like that actually.
It all depends on the person for sure. So if the people don't manage to do their goal and just sit around and not do anything about it, it's not going to be as effective as it should be.

First, the post sounds completely fake, as you noticed. Second, the guy is probably not even using his real forum account, so that means he's not telling the truth or he'd be using his actual account. Who the hell loses that much money and doesn't have an account here already right?
He doesn't make sense, you are correct but I don't think there's an evident connection to him having another account or something. I don't really care though lol.

Anyway, Gunbot is just for automation. If your system doesn't work, Gunbot doesn't make it better Smiley
True. Better stick to the tried and tested strategies included.
2092  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying to know more about crypto wallets on: February 21, 2022, 09:28:20 AM
1. Is there any proper place to keep your private keys?
Somewhere that you can find or use again and not be easily accessible to anyone. Some people use some Shamir backup methods with keeping their private keys. You can basically keep it in different places. Even if someone manages to get your backup, they need the other pieces of it.

2. Do you have to keep your hardware wallet keys the same way as a mobile wallet or does a hardware wallet have better security features that mobile wallets don't have?
Already having a hardware wallet means that you are going to go serious with protection. Mobile wallets should be treated as a hot wallet (for transactions and not so much of a big amount kept in there to be safe.)

3. Will you rather spend dollars on hardware wallet as a newbie than use a mobile wallet?
If the newbie understands what it is for, it's a definite yes. If not, then study about it and then change your mind about it.
2093  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Traders how do you go about this? on: February 21, 2022, 08:55:42 AM
I think you could make the first approach is just going to a trusted exchange for your trading activities. Exchanges that are legal in where ever you are residing and check that maybe you have an excellent exchange locally there as well.

Maybe get a routine of withdrawing your profits every month or every two weeks so you would have a regular wage or something.
2094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I lost +$ 20k in future, advice for newbies on: February 21, 2022, 07:56:26 AM
How can you say it's not for you already when you just lost it? When were you successful in having turned $1k into $5k? What is the realization there? Is it just because of the loss or your lack of discipline and rules that you should set yourself not to lose your every capital?

I think it's just on your mindset that you should know your limits and have backup plans or have an emergency fund before anything else to quickly recover anything that might affect your lifestyle or living conditions.

You should have control over futures and set the right amount of rules. You can try Gunbot to have a trading system that can assist you continuously.
2095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why are there so many coins and the reason why some developers failed on: February 19, 2022, 12:25:49 PM
If you were to approach the project that you are planning into something that has value in the world and is going to help the masses, then it would be some kind of valuable project especially if it was to really ignite the passion of people. They fail to start a great project because it's probably going to be a selfish thing and approached it differently. I think having a long term vision for the project is important so that it's being applied with the right mindset.

I do hope there would be a good project that would be that "moonshot" that we all want.
2096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to detect scam token on Binance Smart Chain on: February 18, 2022, 07:38:48 AM
I do not agree with you at all. Every good project developer should choose solutions that will be the most convenient and cheapest for the project, as well as for its investors and users.
I’m not saying that everything in the BSC Is a scam it’s just that most people tend to use it for those reasons.

At the moment, Binance Smart Chain offers perhaps the best conditions. It is natural for me that most new projects are created on this platform. The claim that all, or even most projects created on BSC are scams may indicate that you are unable to analyze and recognize a good project from a scam.
I think I can analyse pretty much the project but unless something happens like a rug pull it would be deemed as legitimate project and then may be out of nowhere become a scam. Going to be pretty hard to really know if it is worth it to invest but make sure to invest what you can afford to lose.
2097  Economy / Speculation / Re: ukraine battlefield bear market on: February 18, 2022, 07:07:09 AM
I don’t think you could really classify that the Bitcoin’s price is related to the event of Ukraine and Russia. I like is there a major sell-off between the two countries? Is there even a way to verify that it came from there?

Anyway OP, do you have any research articles that have this kind of approach or subject?
2098  Economy / Economics / Re: UK makes first seizure of NFTs in tax crackdown ($ 1.9 million fraud) on: February 17, 2022, 09:46:15 AM
That really put bad effects on NFTs because if NFTs will remain in safe hands then everyone will like it and artists will get their real profits while if people start to use it for escaping from tax then people will think of it as a source of money laundering and will think that these are those involved in it who escape from paying taxes.
Those are just questionable things that people do that it can be for money laundering or it could just be a prank a pretty expensive prank just to be part of the hype or something. It's just interesting to consider that there are actual people buying into it or something. Maybe they just have a lot of money.

People ahve to be positive as many people use many sources to evade taxes so it is not only NFTs which they started to use for the first time.
A lot of stuff has been invented to evade it and they are just adapting to the new technology, I guess.
2099  Economy / Economics / Re: What's happening in Canada ? on: February 17, 2022, 07:53:30 AM
I'm searching for articles that might have something to do with Canada and banking but I didn't see any resource that could possibly be related to your topic here, OP. I want to know and understand why you show and concluded that they have a crisis or disbelief in the banking system now. What's happening?

It would be beneficial for Canadians that they go to the decentralized part and make sure that they are free from it (if they are looking forward to controlling their own).
2100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the mathematical formula for determining the value of a bet / odds? on: February 17, 2022, 05:28:24 AM
This is a very complex type of formula if you are going to intake a lot of parameters with a specific team/sport or whatever chances you have in winning. To determine that, you need to have an enormous amount of data (if you want to automate it and factor in all possible variables that play a role in determining the winner). With just value and data, I think you can have a formula.

You can consider what data you would use on that formula because usually, the win rate is one of the factors for the matches, and they use that to the number of chances that that specific team could win with a particular game.

I think there would always be a human intervention and not just automatically determining the bet/odds of a match.
