Interesting bet option.
In most of the pictures he appears on, he wears either a blue or red tie, or combinations with different shades of blue or red. Those two colours aren't the clear favourites without a reason. But what would happen if he were to wear something like on the picture below. A blue and yellow combination. Would this fall under the blue category, the yellow, or other?

Full size image is shown here.

He wore blue during the 2008 and 2012 inauguration also.

Black might have some value since it will be more somber than normal with 400,000 lights to honor the Americans who died from the virus in place of a screaming crowd.

Red seems unlikely - Republicans are red, MAGA hats are red, and I don't see him just picking another color because it looks good, although Orange would be funny.

I'm surprised they were so focused on the Trump supporters considering they have just a tad bit of work to do in regards to tightening up their security protocol.

These were the people that literally stormed the Capital during a joint session of congress the day before.  Killed a cop, attacked journalists, broke into and stole from Congress members offices and desks on the floor, chanted 'hang Mike Pence', brought a noose, built a gallows, etc...
2103  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Capitol Stormers Are Now On No-Fly List And Crying At Airports on: January 20, 2021, 04:43:17 AM
Just to clarify, what’s the normal circumstances a person will be deemed deny into airport?

As long as you have a ticket, valid ID, no bombs or drugs in your bags and you're not on the no fly list, you shouldn't have a problem.
2104  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Capitol Stormers Are Now On No-Fly List And Crying At Airports on: January 20, 2021, 04:10:28 AM
So another one made the local news today.
Someone got fired because....wait for it....he did not show up to work because he was in jail...

He is now suing the people he worked for because they fired him for political reasons.
The fact that did not show up to work for a week (week+?)  trying to make bail has nothing to do with it.
And, as far as I know political views are not a protected class anyway in most places.

Quote
A Pennsylvania woman accused of being one of the Capitol rioters told a former "romantic partner" she planned to steal a laptop computer from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office and sell it to Russian intelligence, court documents revealed Monday.

(emphasis mine)

Supporters of the stable genius traitor are pulling out all the stops to make him el presidente for life... I'm just not exactly sure how they thought Putin would help them.

"William's ex, who was described in Special Agent Jonathan Lund's charging document as W1 (witness one), called the FBI and said she "intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence service."

Remember folks -- if you plan to steal the speaker's laptop, don't tell your ex because he might rat you out to the feds.

Imagine this woman thinking that the intel community would allow an octogenarian politician to store anything of value on a device that she probably couldn't figure out how to check her email on.

That's Insurrection Daria.

Any guesses at Ross Ulbrichts odds?

I'd give him a 8% chance at getting on the list.  Really no idea though.
2107  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Pardons on: January 18, 2021, 09:58:44 PM
I would imagine, given what we see of his personality, that Trump will only pardon those he thinks will be able to return the favour somewhere down the line.

Or he could pardon Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, etc so that he could claim that (a) they're criminals and (b) it's very ungrateful of them to proceed with the impeachment anyway.

Yes, I've been reading too many BADecker's posts.

Whoah, that wouldn't be a bad idea.

Imagine the headlines if he pardoned Hillary.
2108  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Pardons on: January 18, 2021, 04:40:32 PM

That's the one I was watching out for, too. My assumption—and I think it's a reasonable assumption—is that Tiger Joe will be lined up as Trump's running mate for '24. Plus a <collective noun> of big cats would really supplement his insurrectionist army.

I would imagine, given what we see of his personality, that Trump will only pardon those he thinks will be able to return the favour somewhere down the line.

I heard Biden was considering Carol Baskin for Secretary Of State.
2109  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Pardons on: January 18, 2021, 09:57:24 AM
criminally liable for inciting violence.

Can he pardon himself for things that happen in the future? Because that's surely his biggest issue at the moment.

I think everyone is expecting some Trump-fuelled insurrection around the country on inauguration day. There's a reasonable chance that people will die, and that Trump will refuse to condemn the perpetrators, and thus open himself up to further charges of incitement... by which time he'll no longer be POTUS and no longer able to contrive a pardon for himself.

He can only pardon people for crimes that have already been committed. It's not clear if he is able to pardon himself.  If he does, he can still be indicted - but they would need to litigate the pardon before moving forward with the cases.

I'm thinking he may just not pardon himself or his family and plan on using the fact he didn't pardon himself or family as evidence that they didn't commit a crime.  It's obviously a stupid defense, but would be repeated millions of times by Americans who believe it.

Trump be sworn in March 4 as the 19th President (The act of 1871)
https://youtu.be/0TVoLVrDIH8

This alternate Universe is really starting to take shape.  Just pretending reality isn't happening because you didn't want something to happen that did seems like a great way to live a healthy happy life.

When he's sworn in on March 4 as 19th president, will he still be 45th president in this Universe?  Or are we abandoning the "Biden is too chicken to ever be President" theory.
2111  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Pardons on: January 18, 2021, 05:12:41 AM
Trump's speech in DC is clearly protected on first amendment grounds, as bad as it was for Trump politically.

Yes, Trumps speech is protected on first amendment grounds.
But the first amendment doesn't protect you from being held criminally liable for inciting violence.  Since nobody is suggesting Trump shouldn't have been allowed to give a speech in DC, I'm not sure what your point is.

With regard to Trump's phone call with the GA Secretary of State, I understand the conversation was settlement talks over a dispute that Trump was a party to.

They were discussing the general election.  The dispute was over whether or not the GA SOS would report that Trump received more votes than Biden, which would be a crime.

Trump tried to convince him to commit this crime through various forms of begging, threatening and bullying.

Good thing Trump supporters have been conditioned to not believe any polls that make Trump look bad.  This one would sting:

That takes a special kind of stupid.

what are them 'boys' supposed to be 'proud' of? their ankle bracelet? their criminal record?
seems to me these boys are not the type of 'men that are creating the modern world'

Chansley is definitely getting some high fives from the other prisoners when they find out he's this guy:

Trump is the first public figure they outright banned who was in a position of high political power, but I'd assume this won't be the last. If you look at their pattern, they banned people like Alex Jones in the past while giving a free pass to those that support/engage in left wing violence.

Seems people were fine when Kathy Griffin posed with a severed head of Trump. No ban there.
griffens career took a major hit, overall people were not fine with the photo shoot.
Trump used twitter to assemble an angry mob that stormed the capital. People died.

2115  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Pardons on: January 17, 2021, 12:47:52 AM
So....
Its getting down to the finish line.
I predict we are going to see a flurry of pardons any time now.
Its going to be interesting to see if our dear old DIMPOTUS (Double Impeached ....)  actually decides to pardon
some  of his delusional worshipping followers who stormed the capitol, now that they are having their 15 minutes of fame on the intertoobz, which will no doubt convert to 10 years in the Stoney Lonesome....
(unless of course they get a pardon from their Supreme Being Orangeman Leader because they were true patriots, doncha know....)

I'm surprised he's waited so long, today was his final Friday as president, the day you usually pardon people if you don't want it to hit a weekday cable news cycle.

Imagine if he was planning to pardon himself and family but got surprise 25th amendmented.
Typically outgoing Presidents will make a flurry of pardons on their last day in office, in the morning (they leave office as of noon that day). I would expect the same for Trump.

Pence as already indicated he is not going to invoke the 25th amendment, and the Senate is not in session until the 19th. Unless Trump resigns prior to the end of his term, he is not going to be removed from office.

Yeah this is all true.  There was a day or two after they stormed the Capital that Pence hadn't responded and reports said Trump hadn't even spoke to him for days - if there was even a small chance of 25th being invoked, smart play would be to pardon yourself immediately.

The real attempted voter fraud... perpetrated by DIMPOTUS himself.
And in this case, there is actual recorded evidence.
(Unlike the 69 nonsensical cases, lost or laughed at by judges thrown out, filed by DIMPOTUS and his clown car lawyer team.)
And a self pardon ain't gonna cut it, apparently...

Quote from: The New York Times
ATLANTA — Prosecutors in Georgia appear increasingly likely to open a criminal investigation of President Donald Trump over his attempts to overturn the results of the state’s 2020 election, an inquiry into offenses that would be beyond his federal pardon power.
The new Fulton County district attorney, Fani Willis, is already weighing whether to proceed, and among the options she is considering is the hiring of a special assistant from outside to oversee the investigation, according to people familiar with her office’s deliberations.
At the same time, David Worley, the lone Democrat on Georgia’s five-member election board, said this week that he would ask the board to make a referral to the Fulton County district attorney by next month. Among the matters he will ask prosecutors to investigate is a phone call Trump made in which he pressured Georgia’s secretary of state to overturn the state’s election results.

The Washington DC AG is also considering indicting him for his joint session of congress stunt.

As they arrest members of his cult they keep saying the same thing to the FBI "I did it because Trump asked us patriots to save the country".  Probably don't even realize how bad they're fucking him.  Although some of them might be realizing how bad Trump fucked them.  A few have already asked him for pardons - seems unlikely he'll pardon them though, nothing it in for him.

First it was Jack who decided to ban Trump and while I understand why he had to do it, but yet it’s scary because if the President of USA account is not safe then what chance do we have to keep our accounts safe.

Furthermore now Google has decided that Australians should not get access to news sites, and basically they’re at their mercy what they show they have to see, and this is super scary because there is no free internet anymore.

These are private companies, founded and run by Americans..  We need to let them live the American dream and allow the market sort itself out?  It's called Capitalism.

We're already seeing the Free Market work it's magic: Trump's already hinted there's going to be something better than Twitter for them soon and new competitors are making a run for their user base all the time.  That's what's supposed to happen unless you're in Russia or China, where banning the President from your app would cost you the rest of your life in prison.

Dude, if you have a website that you're advertising as military grade security and you know about a problem like that, but allow people to keep using millions and millions of dollars on your website... holy shit.

So either...

A:  They fucked me.

B:  They knowingly put their users at extreme risks and gave their users a false case of security due to their exchange design flaws.

Both are prime examples of corporate dishonest fuckery with shitty engineers covering their tracks and making excuses.

"We've paid out over $30,000" ...what a lame and stupid defense.

If anyone wants to keep up with the list of people who have been charged / arrested:
https://www.justice.gov/opa/investigations-regarding-violence-capitol

Here is my favorite Statement of Facts so far.
I love page 7 paragraph #19 "Hello nice FBI lady"

Kind of feel sorry for her, you know Special Agent Land is no longer called Agent Land, or even by her 1st name around the office.
Thanks to all her coworkers she know has a coffee mug, t-shirt, name plate on her desk, and a bunch of business cards that all have "Nice FBI Lady" on them.
Because, no matter where you work, what you do, who you work for, coworkers are going to do that.
