2121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin vs. Dogecoin - FML on: November 25, 2019, 04:59:34 PM
So I invested in Litecoin at around 0.015 BTC because of the halving but it has been such a massive disappointment. Dogecoin on the other hand has maintained its value against BTC and is now even higher. I don't get it? There's only gonna be 64 million LTC ever but DOGE is over 120 billion now with no max supply and keeps adding about 5 billion new DOGE to its supply every year. Why is DOGE holding stronger than LTC Sad

Supply matter at some point in time. 100 years from now will be that many LTC and that many Doge. There will not be unlimited on any of them. But a finite number. When I look at emission supply, I always look how much coins will be in 2050. Year 2050 is far away but still not that far I will not live it.

In 2050, there will be:
22.5 million Monero
20.96 million Bitcoin
83.9 million Litecoin
258 billion Doge

About halving you probably bought to late. Price of Litecoin increased a lot at start of the year.

2123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The current news in China is just a fud or something more? on: November 25, 2019, 12:35:11 AM
I saw many posts regarding the recent China news or police raid fact. Nothing is real in that case? What's the thing Chinese Gov is going to do in next? Sometime, it seems to me that the Gov is with blockchain, sometimes, they aren't. Feeling confused.

Two weeks ago China country president said that they dont allow anyone call blcockhain a scam. Those that will keep saying that will get punished. People mixed blockchain with Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies so value of them went up 20%. Few days ago it was clearly explained that he had in mind blockchain and nothing else. So prices corrected to about what was before that news two weeks ago. For those that held coins and dont live in China nothing changed really. Those in China need to be careful to not spread FUD about blockchain or might get beheaded.
2124  Economy / Speculation / Re: trump is the cause of drop prices bitcoin on: November 24, 2019, 11:53:00 PM
since the commentaire of trump on twitter before three month prices already starting falling
but should trump make another twitter about bitcoin but this time positive and give prices bullish trend?
is the governoment playing with prices bitcoin?
does trump and givernements love bitcoin or not?

In general Trump was very positive for Bitcoin in last 3 years. With pulling USA out of several global treaties he made world way less secure as it was before. World uncertainty is good for Bitcoin.
2125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about Siacoin? on: November 24, 2019, 05:51:50 PM

And what if binance is about to close? or be forbidden by china?
 Undecided

Then Binance coin would be totally worthless. It have over 2 billion marketcap. So huge loss for those that own that coin. They will probably rather die then let that happen.
2126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SIACOIN NEWS AND PROJECTS? on: November 24, 2019, 03:44:55 PM
Will they recover after the huge loss from their ICO?

Yes you are right. They gathered exactly zero in their ICO Tongue   Impossible to recover from that. But on other hand, they will not be treated as a security this way. So you will be allowed to use them in most countries.  YAY.  Who would have thought it is better to start project just normal that with ICO.
2127  Economy / Economics / Re: The Government-Backed Digital Dollar (USD) on: November 23, 2019, 11:03:37 PM
After Facebook announced it's Libra digital currency, several countries have expressed their interest of launching a digital currency of their own. China has already announced that it'll be working on Blockchain technology for a digital version of the Chinese Yuan while other countries have done the same. Most recently, German banks have requested the European Union to launch a programmable "digital euro" that would replace the current monetary system (physical Euro). All these developments shows us that we're getting closer to a "cashless society" than we've thought.

While all of this is exciting, it seems that the USA will be left behind in the development of a blockchain-based "digital dollar" (USD). After all, the country has been known to be quite strict about the development of the crypto industry. With many fierce regulations against crypto and Blockchain tech, many mainstream crypto businesses and companies have decided to stop providing services to US citizens. Poloniex will no longer serve US customers, which greatly diminishes the adoption of crypto within the US. This makes me wonder whenever the US will allow a "Digital Dollar" to happen in the future or not? If it doesn't migrate to the digital realm, then I'm afraid that other countries will take the lead in the world's economy. It's a matter of being ahead in the latest technologies to obtain supremacy. If the US remains reluctant to accept Blockchain technology into its current monetary system, then it'll be left behind without a doubt.

What do you think? Huh

How come you skipped Petro? It was first government coin. I believe is like 2 years old. Yes it have big problems with adoption, but that is normal. Specially since there is such hate of Venezuela in some parts of the world.
2128  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency investments in Airbnb and other large companies on: November 23, 2019, 09:12:42 PM
1. Why don't you buy shares directly?
2. Why don't you put your money directly into those investment funds?
3. Why do we need a shitcoin for everything?
4. Why do we need to over complicate things every time just so we can make room for cryptos and the blockchain when there is no need for it?

I would love to hear answers on this questions also.  We need to simplify things. Not to add more middle mans to collect fees.

2130  Economy / Economics / Re: Bakkt Bitcoin Futures Set New Daily Record Trading Over $20M on: November 23, 2019, 07:24:01 PM
According to data from Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), Bakkt futures trading volume reached the highest level at $ 20.3 million, or 2,367 contracts, surpassing the previous figure of 1,756.

This increase coincided with the decline in Bitcoin price below $ 7000 and stability at that range.
They seem to be "Institutional investors are trying to seize the dip! to buy more
Don't forget that BAKKT will launch paper futures next year.

2131  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason for current bloodbath on: November 23, 2019, 07:01:41 PM
We have seen a overall bloodbath of all the crypto currencies and bitcoin being no expectation, but most of the users had predicted a dump before pump which could possibly happen post halving but isn't it too early that we are witnessing this dump? What do you think has created this dump?

When China make law that calling blcockhain a scam is against law Bitcoin price jumped from $7500 to $10000. I guess people mixed blockchain with Bitcoin. Two days ago this was explained more in details, so price fell from $8000 to $7000.
2132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JuSt a wish on: November 23, 2019, 02:52:09 AM
This is just if, new projects are finding it hard to list on top exchanges because of listing funds but since market is not in a good season why is top exchange listing fee still that high? Top exchanges are not making it easy for new projects to list on their exchanges or am i missing some good information?

What projects? Any serious project will be listed on many exchanges. As soon as they will build at least basic things. Coins that exist simply because someone decided so and have no meaning will not be listed on any exchange. Well they can be on some if pay nice fee.

Grin is 1 year old. It had no premine. Or ICO or anything. Is simply opensource, so whoever want to develop helps develop. It is totally new protocol. IT is not a copy/paste project of some existing. So wallets, merchants, hardware wallets, exchanges need to develop special software if they want to use Grin.  But it is on this many exchanges: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/grin/markets/     How is that possible if no new project cant get on an exchange?
2133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 23, 2019, 01:07:19 AM
why on earth Monero needs fork? i think we have 3-4 versions already ( i might be wrong  maybe more - can't keep up with those forks )

Actually there are 12 versions. You can see map of full nodes here. https://community.xmr.to/network/   It looks like no one runs first 8 versions.   around 1/3 already runs new binaries. 10 days ahead of schedule.

Monero forks to upgrade its protocol. Since it is on the edge of technology, there is so much development that it had to happen every half year. Now Monero is quite built and all this progress should slowly slow down.  Since Monero ecosystem grow over time, this protocol upgrades are harder and harder to smoothly accomplish(more smaller exchanges and merchants, that dont have time to monitor Monero development, need to upgrade). We will for sure see new upgrade in spring next year, then my speculation is that they might move to be every year instead of every half year as right now. But I could be totally wrong. And there could come some sudden easy to implement innovation that would make Monero transactions faster, smaller or  harder to trace.

Imo, it should continue to be every 6 months-a year indefinitely. I think allowing things to stagnate would be the worst thing for Monero, because you can see what happens to things like Bitcoin if politics get in the way of improving the protocol and keeping “up-to date” tech in.

Some updates need hardfork and some dont. Talking about this is beyond my knowledge.  And is so far ahead. It is just how I heard people feel. Bitcoin is unmovable object. Even unstoppable force could not move it an inch.
2134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling top at $16500 (Even Newer!: $2483 bottom 19 Feb 2021 MtGox said so!) on: November 23, 2019, 12:30:48 AM

Also, credit when it's due, I checked this again and even though you were very wrong about 2018, your price mid 2019 looks amazingly correct.
I mean look at that chart with the peak at 13k in May-June 2019, this call was amazing. Kudos.

Man just look at it. It is just copy/pasted a 1 year chart over a 3 years.  Of course he cant be totally right. LOL.   OP thinks that halving will from now on happen every 12 years and not anymore every 4 years.
2135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: Electroneum Add ex UNICEF Director David Bull on: November 22, 2019, 11:46:07 PM
Do you know what the latest update that comes from the electroneum? it's about anytask to go live very soon. David bull will not give a big differences to the electroneum project. As you can see that the electroneum token still become a useless token. I see no point to hire him. The developer itself can bring a good update to the token to make it useful for all.
It doesn't and it will not related to that thing.

They scammed from people $40 million to fork a coin with huge premine. They have money to even hire Eddie Edwards if they want to.
2136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: QEXB token on: November 22, 2019, 11:34:48 PM
There is a token on the waves platform called QEXB that the company promises to make a profit for the bearers. I'm thinking of buying this token, but first I want to know if anyone here has already bought this token?

If company promises to make profit for the bearers that means this token is a security. You should be careful if laws where you live allows you to buy unregulated securities.
2137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 22, 2019, 02:47:01 PM

Finally this chart when updated got totally synced. The patient always gets rewarded!
2138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Send More Fraudlent Developers to Jail and I still Sanity Into Crypto on: November 22, 2019, 02:52:57 AM
Maksim Zaslavskiy, a computer programmer from Brooklyn and the first person in the United States to be convicted of running a fraudulent initial coin offering (ICO) has been sentenced to a year and a half behind bars as over 1000 investors were duped.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-ico-scammer-sentenced-to-18-months-in-jail?utm_source=Telegram&utm_medium=social

I think more of this Jail time will help sanitise the cryptocurrency space. What do you guys think?

Only the incompetent will end up in jail. HE gathered only $300000 in ICO. Big scammers gathered many millions. They just hired good lawyers and will be perfectly fine.
2139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What type of Cryptocurrency is used in the Deep Web for transactions? on: November 22, 2019, 01:04:26 AM
I know that the deep web mainly uses cryptos as a means of transactions for people who want to buy things over there, but what type of cryptos are mainly used when making those transactions? It’s just a curious question I have in my mind.

Mainly Bitcoin. Monero s gaining traction. Bitcoin have most widespread ecosystem so people can acquire it easiest. They are not worried to being traced, since they believe law enforcement will not go after people buying weed, but will go after bigger fishes. Reality is that they will go after them to help them get bigger fishes.
2140  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the weirdest thing you have seen for sale for Bitcoin? on: November 21, 2019, 11:21:49 PM
First of all, I was amazed how many people are dealing in Monero these days.

I dont understand your amazement. Monero is real money since is fungible. Two Monero will be always worth exactly the same. No transparent ledger cryptocurrency can be fungible and because of that cant be money.  Monero with its unlinkable transactions drastically helps your wealth to be private. Wealth that no bad guy know it exist is by far safest.
