This is a good matchup for Donaire, and I have a feeling that he will be the favorite in this fight once the odds are out. His opponent has three losses, but is a very active boxer, having won all three fights last year.

If Donaire is listed as the favorite, I doubt he will be a heavy favorite. He's coming off a big loss against Inoue, so he doesn't have much momentum, unlike Santiago, who is currently on a winning streak.

Looks like Phoenix is taking an L in the final game before the all star break. They could have used Durant tonight but it won’t be long now before we see his debut. Phoenix was out rebounded. outcoached, and outplayed IMO. The Suns need to play more aggressively and get themselves on the free throw line. Get some players in foul trouble and work harder to get wins. Playing soft won't get them anywhere except a seat watching the playoffs. Watching their game earlier against the Clippers makes me think and wonder that this team might choke again in the early rounds of the playoffs if ever they will have a seat. I agree, it is better for Magsayo to be slick, and quick and must launch a scoring punch rather than a knock-out punch. This way he can compete against Vargas in scoring. Besides not putting much of force on the punches can render him more mobile and quick. He should know when to launch heavy knockout punches and the scoring punches. Sadly, Magsayo is all brawn and not using his brain during the fight against Vargas.
For sure Magsayo's camp is already aware of those problems. If ever given a chance again to face Vargas, those problems will surely be addressed. Let's also consider the fact that Magsayo isn't really outscored in the match as he won the one judge. Surely Magsayo has learned a thing or two about Vargas's strength and his weakness especially recently when Foster revealed how to defeat Vargas, although I'm not sure that Magsayo can use that one because they have a different fighting style and Foster is quite slick, that is why Vargas failed in his attempt. This time, Magsayo should level up his game because he will get embarrassed for sure if he didn't learn something from their first encounter. He need to adjust and learn from his past mistake, adding more on his stamina so he can last long with good breathing, unlike with that first encounter where he didn't manage to win the fight, but for now better to focus with his upcoming fight and think about Vargas after he succeed with these opportunities to come back. Let see if he will win and start preparing for the title fight if, in case Vargas will negotiate right after Magsayo wins his fight. They will eventually get to that point if ever Magsayo will have a pretty performance and defeat Figueroa. Good news indeed for us fans of Donaire. I think you missed the part that Santiago was the one who snatched Ancajas' IBF belt as it's Martinez who defeated Ancajas twice and dethroned the latter. Though Alejandro and Ancajas fought but it ended in a split draw, correct me if i'm wrong. Indeed mate! And for the correction as well, @freedomgo might have missed the fact that the Ancajas vs Alejandro fight was declared draw, a split decision. After that, Ancajas managed to defeat another three challengers but was defeat by Martinez twice on the same year. Back to the fight, I think Alejandro climbed the next weight class after that fight with Ancajas and now, he has been named to fight Donaire for the vacated belt. I think Melo's career is over, he averages 13 PPG with the Lakers but he does not give a big impact on the team to win. Maybe if the Suns will acquire him, that will give him a bigger chance to win a championship than his contribution to the team. I have no hate for Melo, but his time being a contributor to the team is already over.
If there's someone I think they should sign, it should be DeMarcus Cousins, he'll surely be a good backup Center for Ayton.
