2121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm new here,what is altcoin on: July 02, 2020, 12:00:32 AM
I heard the knowledge of bitcoin (btc)and ETH since 2016 and i want to know the difference between altcoin and BTC and ETH.

and how influential is altcoin because beginners that ask question is really or interested to know which I am willing to know.

Altcoin -  alternative coin. Also a cryptocurrency but different than Bitcoin. This is the shortest explanation I could come up with.

Quote

I know some people will react to this topic violently and some will respond with manner,
I am here to know what i don't know because I believe that knowledge is power and also the beginning of success.

They do because you can get the answer pretty much anywhere. You can google it or find it on the forum by using the search function.
2122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Cash A Better Crypto To Invest? on: July 01, 2020, 11:38:17 PM
Most of you repeat the same thing that it's a good coin and worth investing in.

Please tell me what is good about any clone of Bitcoin? You can choose any of them, BCH, BSV, BTG , they all are useless.

You can pay with them but their adoption and recognition are much lower than Bitcoin's so what's the point of useing them? They don't offer any interesting privacy features and are more volatile.
2123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we really know how many bitcoins does satoshi have? on: July 01, 2020, 10:06:19 PM
It's pretty obvious that he has more coins than we know of.

Bitcoin was very easy to obtain in 2010 and there was no indication that he wouldn't get some after disappearing.

Even if he was around for a month after leaving the forum he could very well have a few hundred coins stashed away.
2124  Other / Off-topic / Re: Artwork by a Kid on: July 01, 2020, 09:59:40 PM
The laptop would have been much better with some bitcoins on its screen  Wink

Very nice! Tell him to keep doing it, especially drawing.

I used to be much much worse when I was his age. You had to really think what the author had in mind with my "art".
2125  Economy / Economics / Re: Is global adoption of Bitcoin possible post-Covid? on: June 28, 2020, 09:21:32 PM
People around the world will realize that how easy it is for an economy to crash. I think these issues are already what Bitcoin is striving to fight with but in current times they seem to be more deadly. Bitcoin is providing a practical solution for it at-least as a stable alternative to Fiat.

We already experienced a stock market crash and Bitcoin followed it. An then Bitcoin recovered simultaneously with stocks. If we'll have a true economic crisis, people won't be buying Bitcoin, they will be selling their assets, including Bitcoin, to buy toilet paper, figuratively speaking. People want Bitcoin to be digital gold and a hedge against global economy, but it can't become such thing as long as it is a volatile speculative investment.

There's truth to your words because people invest whan they have an abundance of everything. When they already have a house, a car and a steady job they think about gambling, stocks, bitcoin.

You can see the same situation in cryptocurrencies. When Bitcoin goes to new highs people take some profits and gamble with it or buy shitcoins but when Bitcoin goes down people dump their shitcoins much faster and much harder.

If the world economy crashes both stocks and cryptocurrencies will go down with it.
2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of Americans still don't know what Bitcoin is on: June 28, 2020, 09:16:16 PM
It's the same in Europe.

I was asked a few times what I do as a hobby or do I have any part time jobs and my answer was Bitcoin. Most people reacted like I was working in a ponzi scheme, some thought of me as a victim, that poor person who is being scammed and the rest had no idea what I'm talking about.

Don't be discouraged by it. Many people think stock market is a scam, but then maybe it is. Cheesy
2127  Economy / Economics / Re: world war 3 is coming ...do to coronavirus / economy ... on: June 28, 2020, 09:04:51 PM
I don't buy into the World War 3 fear news, there is no country that can afford war cost now even the globalist are against it. There is no doubt the world is in need of peace but with the look of things the inequalities in world has made matter worse. The anger of people you see protesting is towards the inequalities and injustice  all these are domestic issues

WW3 will never be started by sane people but the world isn't sane so I wouldn't rule it out completely.

One thing is sure. If it begins it will be the end of our civilisation because there's no way to beat one of teh big world powers like the US, EU, China with conventional weapons. The area is too big to cover and conventional bombs will make the war continue for many years without any results. The only way to win such a war would be to use nuclear or biological weapons and it would destroy the planet in teh process.
2128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think eSport gambling will become more popular than normal Sport betting? on: June 28, 2020, 08:56:52 PM
I don't think so, especially when you try to compete with football. I feel like sports have fans in every social group, age and sex. Esports are mainly watched by young males.

Like what is the average CS player? A boy age 19?
There are surveys comparing players in sports and esports and the results show that pro players are also much younger with footballers at 26 and LoL players at 21.

I think that this simple thing that sports are watched by both young and old people and esports mostly by people around 20 and younger will make normal sports perform better.
2129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COVID-19 a reason for Bitcoin adoption? on: June 28, 2020, 08:35:06 PM
If they force people to use electronic money and somehow remove cash completely it's going to increase Bitcoin adoption.
That's most likely not going to happen for some reason physical money is somehow useful and not everyone is nerd tech to join the squad of cashless society.

If not, I just don't see it happening. The only way people start using Bitcoin is if other ways of paying become more risky or less convenient.
You know what, there's a lot of options to choose why people would choose to use Bitcoin instead of fiat. Besides, Bitcoin itself is risky in terms of investment or trading because of its unstable volatility that's why people preferred a stable one or just simply use the fiat.

Physical money is useful but it's not why governments want to get rid of it.

Cash is not printed for free. It costs money to make money and it costs money to move money around in bags, hold it in storage, build vaults for it.

Cash is hard to trace. It's much easier to trace and seize money if it's held on your account.

It's convenient for the governments to persuade people to use cards or centralized cryptocurrencies.
2130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Enough of repetitive projects and old ideas on: June 28, 2020, 08:06:43 PM
I will tell you that a lot of old altcoins died as well as many new altcoins die. Competition is everywhere. If you don't have money for extensive advertising - you are dead. The idea pulls out of the pit not all companies, you can't do without advertising.

Because most altcoins old or new are worthless shitcoins made to make a few greedy people invest and the developers of the coin cash it out and start again.

This is what makes them hide their identities otherwise you'd see that the same teams are involved in numerous projects.
2131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT MARRY YOUR ALTCOIN BAGS on: June 28, 2020, 07:50:33 PM
Actually People hold altcoins because altcoins can icrease 2x to 5x with bitcoin. But it's difficult to predict about altcoins in the long run and most of altcoins are not good for investment. Nevertheless there are some top rank altcoins (check on Coinmarketcap), have bright future & can be believed in the long run

Not if they die before it happens.

An alt is alive as long as people hold and trade it but if the bear market lasts for a long time the coin loses a lot and starts to have no volume. At that point exchanges delist it and you can have a big bull run on Bitcoin but that shit altcoin will not go anywhere.

Hold all you want but remember that altcoins have a point of no return.
2132  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving economy at the cost of what? on: June 28, 2020, 07:34:43 PM
Restrictions are removed for the reason that few countries can afford to be in isolation for months.
New outbreaks will be but at least humanity now knows about masks.  In any case, the crisis will be stronger and more destructive if you continue to keep everyone at home.

If only masks were able to stop the virus. Most of it is transmitted through touching your face or mouth with dirty hands. A mask won't save you if you don't know how to behave.

I still think it's good they're trying to make things go back to normal. The virus kills 1% of the infected but the suicides in case of a global recession will kill more than that.
2133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I won't bet on this on: June 28, 2020, 07:26:36 PM
There were so many things that were supposed to trigger a bull run this year.

One that I remember was the trend reversal and the level of 10 thousand being broken. We've reached 10400 USD and did not continue.

The second one was the halving. We're months past that and the price is lower than it was in July of last year.

Don't get your hopes high.
2134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum too tied to Vitalik Buterin? on: June 28, 2020, 01:09:20 AM
I also think it's too centralized and Vitalik is like the CEO of a company, running things.

He's smart and that helps but if something were to happen to him the price would crash for sure. He's both a strong and a weak point here. Strong as long as he's healthy and actively engaged in the project but things can change very fast.
2135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know job/investment related to crypto that provide stable daily income? on: June 28, 2020, 01:01:16 AM
Steady $100 a day is going to be very hard without running your own business.

You won't find many jobs that pay as much and those that pay more aren't stable.

Like you can get some money every day trading, much more than $100 but it's not going to be consistent. It's the same when you do some freelance coding. When you get a job it will pay you more than $100 a day but once you're done there can be nothing for the next days or even weeks.

One thing that will give you income like that is an investment in an exchange or a casino but for $100 a day it has to be a big investment.
2136  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can never become a currency. Part 2: reward distribution. on: June 27, 2020, 09:08:53 PM
It already is a currency. OP is probably referring to a gobal currency that many investors hope to see.

Anything that is used as an universal exchange token is a currency even if it's used in a sandbox. For instance linden dollar is a currency.

2137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COVID-19 a reason for Bitcoin adoption? on: June 26, 2020, 09:53:51 PM

2138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you obtain your first BTC / satoshis? on: June 25, 2020, 09:58:48 PM
I bought mine on a centralized exchange but it wasn't a lot. I joined the forum and begun to get paid in bitcoin, take part in giveaways, claim airdrops.
That first purchase though was on an exchange because I had no BTC and wanted to start trading.

I admit that I didn't even know that holding coins on an exchange makes you vulnerable. When I came to the space I thought exchanges are more like banks or paypal and believed them to be safe.
2139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We finally are going to get justice in regards to Mr. Wright on: June 25, 2020, 09:49:21 PM
Honestly, I don't know about autism thing, but he's definitely got some issues, only concerning his personality though

Of course he does. He's a narcissist and a pathological liar. In fact most narcissists are liars, you can check it out in some medical sources.

Only a delusional liar would came up with a story like that. He became autistic as an adult Cheesy Give me a break!

The aspergers defense was weak so he's developed autism.

It looks like he's beginning to drown in the sea of his own lies. Where's the courier that was supposed to bring him the private keys?
2140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are happy only when the price goes up? on: June 25, 2020, 09:33:53 PM
People who are active in the space really want it to succeed. Many of us are not only investors and holders but also enthusiasts who like bitcoin related things.

I have a lot of Bitcoin gadgets like mugs and stickers, use a hardware wallet, write on this forum every day. I also read the news and check the price every day even when I'm not trading or waiting for a certain level. I consider it a part of my life like other hobbies and I'm happy every time there's positive news or a price increase.

If you really want to buy you can do it at any level. I was here when Bitcoin was worth 1000 USD. What if I did like you and decided that I'll wait and buy when it goes down because the price is too high? I'd never have any coins.
