Don't be silly, they're like cars.  Red ones are always faster.  Tongue
2142  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] BTC Guild's Mitigation Plan on: September 22, 2013, 10:45:48 AM

It is open source, rewrite it to do what you want it to do.

I'm not a coder.  But I know inefficient code when I see it.
2143  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [EU/UK GROUP BUY] Blue Fury USB miner 2.2 - 2.7 GH/s on: September 22, 2013, 09:50:54 AM
Shame, I'd rather have had red.  Blue LEDs already light up half the house - had to cover up the LEDs on the Anker hubs with insulating tape so we can get a bit of sleep.  Undecided
2144  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Blue Fury Miners V2 2.6Gh/s on: September 22, 2013, 09:17:19 AM
Blue Fury?  What's the difference between Blue Fury and Red Fury?

Edit: Never mind, I see they have a blue LED now.   Undecided  Blue sucks.  I'd prefer red, I've enough blue LEDs to cover up, so they don't light up the whole upstairs of the house...

3.1.4 doesn't have the HTTP server in it, which the the problem.  Huh

This doesn't make any sense, so I presume the stack must be corrupt somehow :/
Can you guys try out this special recompiled EXE?
It has some stack protector stuff added, so hopefully will crash with more useful info...
You might also need libssp-0.dll

Still craps out.  Log:

with bfg 321 do you still need to have that other sila driver loaded? or is winUSB a better route?

You can install WinUSB if you want, but it'll break USB support for BFG.   Tongue

Looks like the same error that's making mine crap out, too.
2149  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] BTC Guild's Mitigation Plan on: September 21, 2013, 07:23:54 PM

You completely ignore the reality that this is caused, largely, by the Bitcoin-qt devs refusing to make the client useful for ASIC mining!

This affects solo mining and, I believe, P2Pool mining.

I don't agree with much of what you say, but I wholly agree with this.  p2pool runs like shit when you start pumping a few tens of gigahashes through it, even on a fast machine.  Why?   Because bitcoin-qt runs like crap, and bitcoind is only marginally better.

IF bitcoin-qt/bitcoind were a lot more efficient, then p2pool would perform WAY better, and more people might use it.  Currently it needs a fast machine to run, and it really is too much like hard work to keep it running nicely.

p2pool only barely runs properly on an i3-3220 (dual core 3.3GHz) - I tried it on a slower AMD machine (Sempron X2 190, dual core 2.5GHz) and I was seeing 1-3s getblock latency.  That's only putting 30GH/s through it.
2150  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] BTC Guild's Mitigation Plan on: September 21, 2013, 07:03:21 PM
If BTC Guild is attracting so many miners, then there's an obvious problem.  Most other pools are shit.  The good pools (IE ones that are stable) have a slow hash rate, so blocks take ages to find.  Even a pool with 25TH is taking nearly a day to find a block, which is...well...crap.

If some of the pool operators would get the finger out and sort out their shit, maybe people wouldn't all crowd to BTC Guild.

Add -L bfg.log on to the end of the parameters in the shortcut - that'll run a log file (it'll be in the bfgminer folder).  You'll be able to see what's happening from the log.

My shortcut command is:
Code:
C:\bfgminer321\bfgminer.exe -S erupter:all -G --http-port 8330 -L bfg.log

The pools, etc are set up using the TUI and saved to bfgminer.conf once BFG was up and running.
2152  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [13000GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 21, 2013, 04:53:06 PM
Just to note that I am connecting my Blades to p2pool via BFGMiner's http stratum proxy.  I don't know how I can set the diff to 1 by device - I'd have to keep it diff1 for everything that's connecting through BFG.
2153  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 3.2.1: modular ASIC/FPGA, GBT, Strtm, RPC, Lnx/OpnWrt/PPA/W64, BE Blade on: September 21, 2013, 04:48:11 PM
Hi

Can help one help me on how to get my 12 blades to connect to the BFGMiner, Cheers

Run bfgminer with the --http-port 8330 parameter, then point your Blades to the IP of your machine, making sure each Blade has a unique username/password.  The username/password isn't important, it can be anything as long as it's unique.  Once the Blade is connected, it'll appear as a SGW device.

If you take a look at my log a few posts back, you should see what to expect.

WoW64 is standard on all 64-bit Windows (even XP 64-bit Edition has it!).

2155  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [EU/UK GROUP BUY] RedFury USB miner 2.2 - 2.7 GH/s on: September 21, 2013, 03:22:21 PM
I should be able to up my order to 2 units - mining away like mad here, I think I should be able to mine enough for another one by the deadline.
2156  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [10000GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 21, 2013, 03:13:54 PM
Yep, my node is down at the moment due to a popped PSU.  It'll be back up in the next few days, and I'll have a couple of Blades connecting to it - along with what I'm already running, that should be ~30GH/s coming back to p2pool.
How are you running your blades on p2pool?  I was using bfgminer as a getwork proxy and over 30% of the shares where rejected.  What share reject rates are you getting?

Eventually got round to trying the Blades on p2pool - I'm seeing the same thing.  Abandoned the idea for the meantime until something is done about it.
2157  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 21, 2013, 03:12:11 PM
Any idea if p2pool is going to be fixed to work with ASICMiner Blades?  I just tried my Blades on p2pool, and I get a shitload of rejects.  Between 30-50%.
2158  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 3.2.1: modular ASIC/FPGA, GBT, Strtm, RPC, Lnx/OpnWrt/PPA/W64, BE Blade on: September 21, 2013, 02:13:55 PM
As promised.  BFG crapped out three times before it worked with both Blades at the same time.

As said, it's Win7 Exnterprise x86 on a Celeron 847 NUC.  No other software on the machine, other the BFGMiner 3.2.1.
