why is cgminer so retarded that he cannot distinguish between 2 different cards in a computer?

Why are you so retarded the you cannot post in the correct thread?  Huh
1482  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: cgminer compile & build on: December 13, 2013, 09:23:24 AM
I tried to compile it with the README file instructions - no success.

How about telling us exactly what you tried, and what errors you got?

Really, you've given us zero information, so where do we start to help?

and HellDiverUK's gem of info to use my RasPi as the proxy

Glad to be of help. Smiley
1484  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: December 13, 2013, 08:53:48 AM
The structural stability of the case provides a ~5-10GHs increase in hash-rate vs not having the rig cased.

How does that work?

Placebo effect.  Roll Eyes
1485  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Announces More Vapor Ware! on: December 12, 2013, 10:39:58 PM
Hmm..agreed about adding a simple mining host.  It's very possible to do an Avalon style micro-router and run cgminer/bfgminer off OpenWRT.  Hell, even a RaspPi stuck in there running MinePeon or something would be better.

I run my whole mining rig off a cheap TPLink router running OpenWRT - my Blades go through it, my Jalapenos are run off it, and my Cube will be running off it. Heck, it's a £50 mini computer with built in 4-port Gigabit switch that uses about 2W of power.

Hi Fellows ,

Can somebody please post like 5 lines
on how to compile latest version of
cgminer on ubuntu.

P.S. I've already tried 5-8 websites that
posted: "that's will work... for sure..." and nothing...

Thanks in advance.
Roman

Why not post this in the CGMiner thread?

Why not read the cgminer readme file?

Stupid PSU - does not want to work via the paperclip method

A LOT of PSUs freak if there's no load on the 5V.  Connect a fan to the 5V and you might find it works OK.

I had that problem with my old PSU (A Zalman 1000W).  The Corsair CX750 works fine without a 5V load.

My Jalapeno needs a hard reboot the odd time too, or it just falls off the USB bus.  Usually after the host has rebooted.

Maybe his account got hijacked like slush's?
1490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does teamviewer affects hashrate? on: December 12, 2013, 08:50:38 AM
If TeamViewer is like LogMeIn, it usually disables Aero, which kills performance in Windows - your CPU is drawing the screen rather than the GPU.
1491  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: December 11, 2013, 10:26:48 PM
I already have a RasPi setup with MinePeon and BFG 3.8.0. have a blue fury running on it but want to replace it with a Cube (3 Blade box)

how do I use the proxy in BFGminer with a cube/blade? point the cube at the address of the pi then what on the pi?

Just add --http-port 8330 on the end of the command line in the settings page (before the -c blah.config bit), then point your Blade(s) to the Pi's IP address, using a unique but unimportant username for each Blade.
1492  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [UK GROUP BUY] ASICminer Cube group buy #9 on: December 11, 2013, 07:43:12 PM
CX750 is a bit cheaper, as it's not modular.  I'm running a pair of Blades, two Jalapenos off my CX750.  My Cube will also be running off it.  I think it was about £45 from Scan.  It's been solid as a rock, and doesn't mind not having a load on the 5v, which is a problem for a lot of other PSUs.

Luke-Jr, back in November I was asking about getting the BlueFurys running on OpenWRT.  I finally got round to testing the BlueFury again on OpenWRT, and it's still showing 100% errors.

I don't remember what you said back then, and I can't find it on this thread.

What are your thoughts?
1494  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: December 11, 2013, 04:55:18 PM
Any more word on MinePeon for BeagleBone Black?

If the image is working off SD card, it's simple to get it copied to the eMMC (you basically hold the boot button when powering up and it copies the contents from the SD card to the eMMC).

hardware that can't change work on a new block.

It's mostly the Blades that give the issue, so not really surprising.  Roll Eyes

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/cgminer-3.8.5-windows.zip
website down  Undecided

maybe add you could add a mirror here docs.google.com
and please include to checksum just to make sure it's not modified after it got upload

Or just stick it on a Google Drive (or SkyDrive), set it to share to everyone, job done.

bfgminer i never test
but eligius have other problem
diff alternated between 512 and 1024 all time
is not stable

Agreed, the diff alternating between 512 and 1024 multiple times per hour maybe contributing to the problem and can be attributed to the pool. I think the pool vardiff algorithm could use some work...

I understand that the difficulty will bounce around a bit when the miner first connects to the pool while the hashrate stabilizes, but it should not be jumping around after that.

I see the difficulty moving here too, with only 32GH - it flips between 32 and 64, which gives me a few stale shares.

HW errors are hardware errors, so it's probably a reporting issue.

Didn't I hear about a firmware for the KnC machines that use bfgminer instead of cgminer?
1499  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Blue Fury Support Thread. on: December 11, 2013, 09:05:49 AM
The heatsink on the BlueFury is a bit feeble.  I replaced mine with the heatsink off an old dead Matrox G450, stuck on with 3M double sided thermal tape.  Now runs without fan cooling @ 2.7GH.
1500  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: December 11, 2013, 08:47:48 AM
Hubs are a disaster.  My expensive Anker 10-port doesn't work at all on the Pi, and bizarrely also doesn't work on my Celeron NUC.  Yes, it doesn't work on an Intel chipset machine.  It also never worked properly on AsMedia USB3 chips.  Only hub that works reliably on the Pi is the good old DLink 7-port.
