2141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Avalanche (AVAX) is better than Ethereum. The superior DeFi power rocket! on: February 08, 2021, 01:09:48 PM
I believe that Avalanche (AVAX) will go to $1,000 and beyond and will capture a massive share of DeFi.
Please don't shill the coin you love this way. With my respect to the future of AVAX, $1000 is unrealistic price for AVAX in this year.

I don't get reasons from which you conclude that AVAX will hit that price. Is it from its max supply (760,000,000)
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/avalanche/

That coin has lower max supply than other altcoins and Ethereum but it is not the only reason will decide the price.

Quote
It is BLAZING FAST at very low fees
Many altcoins have low fees but price is not decided solely by fees. You can hope as Ethereum had a price about $50 in 2017 and in January 2018, it topped up higher than $1300. It is one year growth and you can hope AVAX to repeat it in next one year.
2142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin advert in Timesquare Billboard on: February 06, 2021, 11:59:00 PM
Dogecoin was shilled too much since the January of 2021. With my 4 years in cryptocurrency market, honestly it is my first time I have ever seen Dogecoin was shilled dramatically this way. More expansive shilling beyond tweets and simple news (listing news and some funny news in articles).

Advert is advert and it is way to make brand exposure and shill products, projects. Dogecoin will be more adopted in this year. Price, I don't know as I see it higher than what I can accept it.
2143  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quick Trading Pattern Guide for Newbie traders on: February 06, 2021, 03:28:24 PM
If you are not the person who draw the charts in OP, you need to use source link of those charts. It can be from a website or a book.

Patterns are interesting to read, learn and practice with them but in trading and investment, the times patterns fail to claim are more important. It causes loss for you and it can kill you if you believe in patterns and use high margin for your trade and don't mind to use stop loss or stop market orders.
2144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fees are sky high on: February 06, 2021, 06:07:58 AM
I have about 35$ that I'd like to buy BCH with, but with the transaction fees, I can barely get 8$ out of those 35$. Anyone know a way to buy BCH on blockchain directly from your BTC balance? Also, Could I maybe set a low low fee and use transaction accelerator to push it through?
Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are different. You can claim your Bitcoin Cash from your Bitcoin's private key. Unfortunately, it is not what you can do if you use exchange's custodial wallets.

Bitcoin Cash transaction has cheaper fee than Bitcoin transaction and I don't understand why you want to save transaction fee with Bitcoin Cash  and switch to Bitcoin transaction. It sounds unrealistic.

You can get average transaction fee of them

2145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best place to try technical analysis indicator on: February 06, 2021, 05:53:43 AM
I was never that good at trading cryptos, nor I had tried to learn it deeply. Lately, I'm trying to learn TA to see how things go on. Is there any place to practice the TA where indicators are available for cryptocurrencies?
Trading view has some types of accounts, Basic, Pro, Pro+, Premium. You can use it without registration but if you don't register, you will be terminate after 30 minutes or 1 hour (I don't remember exact time).

The more indicators you add to your chart, the more direction loss you will face with. I think a Pro account with the cost at $155 each year is enough to use.
Quote
I guess tradingview is one of them but it seems quite advance level to me.
Advanced? Really, you can use any available indicator you want with your account type. Basic or advanced, it is not a matter, but the matter is choose the one that works with your trading traits.
2146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: $60+ in fees for a single withdraw. Could exchanges survive this? on: February 05, 2021, 01:58:38 AM
A few moments ago, I had a withdraw from one exchange to another.

I paid ~90c in fees. The sender (Exchange 1) paid ~$40 in fees and >400 gas. Then Exchange 2 (auto) moved the coins through a contract for another $20 in fees.

This transaction costs $60+ in fees.
It is known with average transaction fee on ERC20 chain, and especially not strange if your transaction includes a complicated smart contract.

Quote
While some of you may goat that exchanges deserve it, this is not sustainable for a long period. And in the end, the user is always paying the expenses.
Exchanges can charge you high fees, higher than what is necessary if you proceed your transactions from the wallet you can control gas and fee. Unfortunately, you can not blame all things on exchanges as transaction fees depend on the blockchain network. It can be high or low, at different time.

If you don't have instant demand to move your tokens, coins, let's choose the time when average fee is cheap and move yours. This in turn can result in another risks, store your coins or tokens on exchanges for longer. And you have consider risk and benefit to make decisions.

At the moment, average transaction has gas price at 186 Gwei, that is higher than normal gas price about 5 to 6 times.

2147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: February 05, 2021, 01:50:48 AM
Not much Digital Golg team can do with that.

My suggestion as solution to this problem is to add another coin to marketplace with low or even zero fees and blazing fast transactions.

There are plenty of such coins XLM, TRON for example. I don't discuss these projects only their coin and to be honest lately I use only these two if I need to send coins lately.

Withdrawal fees in some exchanges spiked even to 25$ or 35$ for USDT or USDC (Poloniex  Grin), so no fees on Digital Gold Marketplace should be more appreciated, I think  Wink.
Yesterday, when I made a trial to withdrawal with USDT, the fee is $37.  Grin

The GOLD team planned to wait for great changes with lower transaction fees from ETH 2.0 and if it goes smoothly, they will not consider other altcoins. From their strategies, I see they want to stick with biggest blockchains to avoid any risks from replay attacks, delist, lawsuits, etc.
Right now we are not planning to add new coins to the marketplace. We should wait when the ETH 2.0 will be implemented. Commissions should be lower than.
2148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ranks aren't permanent in crypto space on: February 04, 2021, 03:28:35 AM
Once upon a time primecoin, peercoin and blackcoin are all top altcoins in early 2015/2016, they just vanished from the top ranks like nothing happened, this have been a good lesson for me, not all those altcoins that are on top 10 rank will maintain the position forever, so all of you rejoicing that few altcoins are taking over top 10 ranks I think you should know, a coin in 3th rank on coinmarketcap today can go back to 15th rank tomorrow.
It is more easily to climb up to the top positions of coinmarketcap years ago as in the past, there were less altcoins in the market than now. In the current market, with more than 3000 of altcoins, it requires a huge capital to a new project in order to help it climbs up to top 100, 50 or 20.

Investors are more wisely to choose coin and accept price of it. They don't easily accept high price if a coin has huge total supply. You can see Dogecoin that had a x7 rise weeks ago and it did not take the 3rd position. Dogecoin has huge supply and its price is low, x7 but price is still very low.

Lastly, ranks won't be changed from 3rd to 15th in a few days, moves up or falls down, it would take months to complete that progress.

You are right that ranks can not a survival mark that this project will not die in next years.
2149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Colossus Coin (COLX) Dead or What on: February 04, 2021, 03:18:32 AM
Subject line says it all!!!  I think so, but I need to see what others think.
It is a very old altcoin and you can simply conclude it is dead.

No trading volume but it has been on few small exchanges: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/colossusxt/markets/

The developers are active but it does not mean they are working productively. The last update in forum is for the swap to Ethereum blockchain: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2141880.msg56024786#msg56024786

2150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 1INCH Speculation/Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2021, 03:23:05 PM
The fact that someone has good product does not means that its token is cheap. Lets try with this:
They would have a positive correlation: better product, more expensive.

I think it would be like this. If you find a project with good products (same quality as some others) but have cheaper price, you might find hidden gems. If you invest, price can rise and help you get profit.

The worse deal is balancer. Burger swap looks insane. 20 times cheaper than sushi. Any ideas why?
If it is true, Balancer price will be corrected and became cheaper.
2151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: solution for high gas fees on dapps on: February 03, 2021, 02:36:19 PM
While writing this, the gas fees for standard ether based transactions stand at 120 gwei which is 4 times higher than usual rates that I use to pay. Im aware of chi gas tokens on 1 inch and such but those are useful only while transacting in tokens(If I'm not wrong) and not while using dapps like token swaps or lending platforms. Is there any way possible to interact with the dapps with lower gas fees.

I don't know any gold standard formula for you but you can read this one, Here are the best and worst times of the day to use Ethereum

Quote
By contrast, the least busy period is between 9 PM UTC and 11 PM UTC. This also makes sense — The U.S. workday is coming to a close, Europe is getting ready to sleep, while in Asia it is still very early in the morning. In addition to lower average values, the evening UTC period also sees fewer outliers.

The information is useful to wait out periods of high activity, or to send a lower fee transaction with the confidence of knowing it will be confirmed in a few hours. The latter trick is only useful for low-priority transactions like token transfers, while it is discouraged for certain DeFi protocols.

You are correct about 1 Inch and CHI token, if you need more advice on it, you would ask wwzsocki (see his comment)
2152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: January 31, 2021, 03:49:53 PM
Anyone know how to get a hold of him?
With Dogecoin, you don't need developers. It is a coin for fun but you can speculate it and get profit. It is not a joke. The pump 2 days ago proves that it is not a joke.

Many people regret that they did not buy Dogecoin when price is below or around 20 satoshis. Now they hope they will see that price again. They will see it again but the question, will they buy the coin when this price comes back? I believe they will hesitate, fear again and will regret later again.
2153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt season start in 3...2...1 on: January 30, 2021, 04:08:36 AM
WallStreetBet and it was pumped to the top on coinmarketcap in percent of 24h change. I did not investigate the WallStreetBet project but the altcoin season began about 3 weeks ago. It does not mean you are late and can not join the party.

There are many hundred of altcoins on the market and they will be pumped in turns, over rounds. They will also be corrected in turns and over rounds. So that you can take advantage of their switching rounds and make your entries.
2154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DeFi Coins Boom as Crypto Market Recovers on: January 27, 2021, 01:39:21 AM
Yes, all the alts (stable and new project only) doing great nowadays and it really normal After btc pump. And generally altcoins season remain for a few months like 2-3 months. In this period alts try to do the best what they can till bitcoin trend changes.
It has a connection to the switch of capital flow from bitcoin to altcoins and with altcoins, new altcoins of course include the new DeFi tokens are more easily to be pumped. They have less old investors, less investors who bought at all time high and are waiting for chances with good price to exit. They have less selling pressure in other words.

Investors, the new generations of investors, F0 crypto investors now are readily to invest and see a future of easy money from minting, farming, yielding, staking from DeFi tokens. They are bored of old altcoins that don't have any interesting waves in past months.

But that's fact doesn't mean Bitcoin will repeating it's history on 2017 because on 2016 there's similar condition and Bitcoin can comeback dominating.
2017 is similar to 2021 and they are good years for this comparison. I don't think 2016 is better than 2017. 2016 and 2020. 2017 and 2021.
2155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The right way to store Bitcoin for long term on: January 26, 2021, 02:17:22 AM
2) What app should be used?
You don't need an application to store your bitcoin. Your bitcoin address on which you store your bitcoin, is created from a private key. If you own a private key, you can retrieve your bitcoin with a wallet that support it.

It is true that you need an application (wallet software) to create your bitcoin private key or mnemonic seed.

Electrum wallet is good and if you are careful, you can create a multi signature wallet.

2156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Tether go into crisis like XRP? on: January 25, 2021, 03:19:38 AM
It's not just XRP that is having problems linking the reason the SEC reporting on a source doesn't verify over data.  Tether also goes into issues to interact with the dispute with Bitfinex.  File center is checked, is this fine for the future?
https://cointelegraph.com/news/tether-and-bitfinex-seek-further-30-days-to-produce-critical-trial-documents/amp
With the speed of USDT minting from Tether company and with the huge supply of Tether USD on the market, the risk for USDT and the company are higher than Ripple. There are many accusations, lawsuits on Tether in the past and will have more in the future. The more improvements on law regulations aim at crypto market, the more risks of shutdown, seize, drama Tether will have.

It is a very old story that warns us the fact behind stable coins: They can be frozen by governments.

Now I want to be a part of the community here without being reminded of that case.
Good luck with your try but I don't think you will get acceptance.

Moreover, I see some members got acceptances from theymos to change username but I noticed that under the new username, there are special phrases (as custom titles) that shows their past usernames. Something like:

aka as scammed-by-nitro

I don't know such phrases "aka as ...." were used as request from members or it is mandatory phrases from admin's decisions. If yes, your change is non-sense.

On ETH it can take few minutes and an hour if you set up too low gas price.

I just exchanged today and it took me 15 minutes with the average gas price.
Transactions with average gas price and waiting time could take 45 to 49 Gwei that is in the average range for last 3 months. You can imagine the last 3 month average Gwei with the chart from https://blockchair.com/ethereum

Dogecoin is oscillator altcoin in the article The two types of altcoins.

It is a long time since the last run of Dogecoin in 2020 when DOGE price reached 60 satoshis. If the oscillation is repeated, it can have another amazing run this year. In December 2020, Dogecoin has a good run but it did not claim the 60 satoshi price. I hope, certainly as I have Dogecoin in my wallet.

[TIPS] to avoid plagiarism

There is no clear definition on how many words or percent of words in your posts are copied & paste AND without the source links (or you intentionally to hide source links to steal the contents and make it as yours).

Remember the key to avoid plagiarism is to be honest:
- If you use documents, phrases, paragraphs that are not yours, use the source links, and the quote blocks.
- Don't hide anything and try to play innocent when your plagiarsim is detected.
- Don't try to spin text, paraphrase, steal local documents and use Google translate and make faked posts: it is plagiarism (if you don't leave source links). From my perspective, even with source link, aforementioned behaviour is still bad.
