I don't think they hurt anyone.... I ran one that went for a while, was completely open/transparent with it so people knew what was going on. Now it seems that most people think it's a right of passage after getting out of the newbie section to go create their own "game". Also, I think we should ban those posts about 'bitcoin forum' discussion in the 'bitcoin discussion' forum. This would be the right place to be complaining.....

Suggestion, since you already taking a 2% fee, why not keep it running forever and you profit from the fees. This way you get paid for running the game and people would not have to worry about not getting paid for coming in late. ok, Nobody more wants to?
You seem surprised that people are not entering into these anymore... You maybe right, but it's a good chance that everyone is away for the holiday weekend. I think it's more likely that the overall interest has dropped for these.

Another day, looks like nobody on in the past 24 hours. You guys have any features you want me to add to make the game a bit more appealing? I think the problem is that the "ponzi games" have lost their appeal to most people.... all of the ones I read about have little to no interest.

CS:S ftw. I will Rape you all. CS:S is for pros CS:S sucks... original is better.

Quick question? What is the maximum I can halve? LOL
I promise to start my own halving-game and can do as many bitcoins as you own!

I'm guessing you are just running a bot to do this? It would explain the no questing part that you put in there.

The best solution for random numbers (someone else came up with this, can't remember who):
Generate the random numbers before any game/contest/etc starts. Hash the numbers with a string and post the hash afterwards. After the game/contest/etc is over post what you used to hash (how you formatted the numbers and string) so people can verify that the hash is the same. This is an easy way to prove you are not changing numbers.
Probably best to not participate in any random number gamble that isn't like this, or isn't based off of something that is completely random (has of a future block or something similar).
I used to do something similar. That doesn't prevent the operator from cheating though. Future block hashes would work if being able to be manipulated by a miner is ok. For most it's probably ok, again, it all depends on the amount at stake and what people are ok with. I moved to using "real world" lottery numbers as an input to the hash to make it impossible. Yup, the real world lotto numbers was a great addition. Also, I think we should get this thread stickied.

I used to gamble, now I can't even understand what they're saying !
That's the major problem, most of the "descriptions" written now are unintelligible.

A new deposit is in! Let's make this a 100+ line game!
I'm pretty sure the days of 100+ line games are over, considering my first one is the only one I've seen that big.
|
|
|
Pool operator will take a 2% + 0.01 BTC transaction fee per deposit. Why take 20x the cost of a transaction fee?
|
|
|
It's very hard to get these games going nowadays.. I wonder what happened to the 100+ lines ones that used to be.
It ended as of last night, went 7 days with no deposits into it.

Don't play in this game, he is a scammer.
Got some proof? I know I've seen him make a lot of threads, but I didn't investigate him at all.

I myself would love to see "spreadsheet games" banned. I myself am working on a Bitcoin slot machine (that I'll probably sell because I don't have enough money to operate it at the moment), and I don't want to see the gambling section collapse into a cesspool of spam.
If done well (I like to think I did it well) the "spreadsheet game" is very transparent. I actually found someone who was scamming (he put in the first entry from another wallet) because of what was on the spreadsheet... and a little help from him PMing me a few days before about my own game.

What's the reason to trust you?
Also, does the person have to pick all 4 numbers correct to win? If so then the odds are 1/390625 and not 1/100.
You don't know a reason and if you don't trust me i wont be hurt if you don't play. Opps sorry I'm not too good with math. I'll lower it down to 1-20 and 3 numbers. Do you have to pick all three numbers correct to win? If so then the odds are 1/8000.

I wrote an email suggesting Sit N Go tourneys. Just wanted to be annoying cause I'm drunk sorry. Enjoying the site very much btw.
SNG will be hard to pull off since getting 10 players to play the same limit is tough enough. You're thinking backwards. SNG are very popular. I don't play there now because SNG are not offered. Its my favorite format. I second this, SNG tournaments are great.

Who cares...
People who don't want to see Gambling become Newbie Part 2, the place where everyone comes to try and get some bitcoins as soon as they leave the Newbie section.

So is it the cool thing to do to come here and make a gambling game as soon as you get out of the newbie forums?
Seems like all I see is <20 post people spamming a game that's been copy/pasted. Even worse are the ones written in broken english (I don't have anything against ESL people, but at least try to use proper english).
