We're a victim of our own success.

oh i guess my avatar isn't safe for work probably....
I think it's kinda borderline. We'll see if we get any complaints first. I'd suggest changing it, I wouldn't want that showing up on my computer at work.

Well this post doesn't make any sense...
Sending it to Off-Topic land, maybe it can come back if the OP rewords things.

So you're looking for more people to spam about nothing? I'll be watching this thread...

Can you link a few topics that were started within the past 48 hours that you think belong there?
I'm just not sure what would go in that forum and if there are enough posts for it.

I have a feeling it will be broken again in the near future, and then not long after that, and then not long after that, repeat for a little while.

I totally understand the concern tysat, I actually read your post just before posting this but I am interested in getting a BTC-E code and don't really see another way how. My Mt.Gox account is still being verified (I'm 6000 in queue) and want to buy through BTC-E.
I know it's a risk for someone to sell me their BTC-E code but I'm not here to scam anyone. I'm willing to pay a premium for someone to risk it, honest buyer here though.
You may be legit, but the warning still stands.

I can vouch for lurkr, know him from college and I'm the one who got him into bitcoin.
I'm willing to do escrow if you're still worried about him being a new member.

I understand how Bitcoin is protected against itself (difficulty increases etc), but how are the exchanges protected against money coming in from manipulative sources? They're not, but there's not huge amounts of volume on them anyways. MtGox is at about 105,000 for the day, so if someone was trying to buy them all up the price would skyrocket.

@OP
It sounds like you don't know how bitcoin works, I would suggest reading more about it before diving in. Confirmations happen when blocks are found and the transactions are included in the blocks.
You've got me pegged 'tysat' would you be so kind as to point me to a link where I can educate myself ? I believe https://www.weusecoins.com/en/ is a good resource, never checked it out myself.

Why not buy a few bitcoins and wait a few days? Coming on the forums and asking for a loan when you've only been around a few days just seems sketchy.

I'd suggest reading the forums first, all the questions you've asked have been answered many times.
