@ https://web.getmonero.org/downloads/ for some reason GUI release confusingly enough labeled as "Current Version: 0.14.1.0 Carbon Chamaeleon" - which I presume is a mistake

It is not mistake, there is no GUI 0.15.0.0 Carbon Chamaeleon yet. Oh there is mistake in name. 0.14 was Boron Butterfly.

2164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving Price Prediction $55,000 - $130,000 on: November 16, 2019, 05:51:30 PM
Right after the first halving in 2012, the Bitcoin price rose from $12 to $140. Weeks after the second halving in 2016, Bitcoin started a rally that propelled its price from $582 to $20,000.

But the $20000 Bitcoins happened 1.5 years after halving. One and half year is a lot of time.If price changed a bit a week latter it was far from $20000.  Problem I see people are making FOMO about halving and dont even mention this fact. Noobs then believe 2019 will be new 2017. I hope there are not that many that believe this will happen in short 6 weeks.
2165  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin cannot be banned on: November 15, 2019, 11:56:58 PM
Bitcoin cannot be banned

You also cant ban anyone to use it. It is permisionless and no one need to ask anyone for permission to use. it.
2166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: November 15, 2019, 11:17:28 PM
It actually makes total sense for price to pump when donation is done. Donation was more then 1.5% of Grin marketcap. It added the value to the coin. It will help to pay development. All coins that base on donations to general found or have projects that crowdfund them self, should increase in price when such donations or a project gets fully founded. Coins that are founded by stealing from miners with some sort of a tax or premine can only be pumped by market manipulation.

Why are people of today hates learning?
Have any one try throwing these questions to people of nowadays? (who wants to learn?) the fact is many people don't want to learn, the moment you start trying to teach them one or two things you will see them walking away, lol but if you ask them if they want to earn money they will quickly give you their total attentions or even drag a nearby chair to sit and listen Cheesy Cheesy why are people like this? How will they EARN without LEARNING?

It is part of your personality. Everyone have own traits. They are not bad or good. They are bad or good for some things. Crypto evolves really fast. People write books and once is published already need to be seriously updated. New researches are coming out daily. So yes crypto is for those that like novelties and love to learn. Those that dont like to learn should rather find more appropriate hobbies.
2168  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed Ups Its Wall Street Bailout to $690 Billion a Week as Media Snoozes on: November 15, 2019, 06:32:52 PM
Witnessing US stock markets recent gains, some might feel tempted to sell off their crypto holdings and buy stocks instead, ...

Does not that worry's you to buy on top?  Would not be better buy in 2009 when market crashed? Or you would sell back then and buy back now few times less?  Why you think Buffet is full of cash? He is ready to use it as soon crash will happen. His problem was only he sold to early.

Paypal Drops Pornhub Support, Pornhub Is Now Exploring Cryptocurrency Options

Pornhub said two years ago that they are building a platform to accept wide range of cryptocurrencies. What is strange s that it take them this long.
2171  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Could Make Bitcoin Drop To $5? on: November 15, 2019, 03:24:10 PM
I was just wondering if it is possible. What event or series of events could crash the price of Bitcoin to $5? What will you do if that happens?

A flash crash. It would happen only one single exchange. And would recover immediately. So unless you would have buy offer set to buy at $5 you would miss this opportunity. Flash crashes happened in past.

2173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitsend can bounce back again? on: November 12, 2019, 06:09:35 PM

Have you tried to visit bitsend official announcement thread? im thinking the developer is still actively managing the thread. Bitsend can't comply with SEC regulation and that must be the main reason why it was getting delisted.

I believe there is no chance for bitsend to go back again and i don't care anymore about that and just try to move on from this one.
Im also holding bitsend since 2016

It is funny that the posts above seems to come from Bitsend holders. Why not post at the announcement thread? Oh, that right, the thread is moderated. You can't post a complaint there. It will be just deleted. I wonder if Limx Dev can find this thread.

Usually announcement thread is not about price speculations. Coins/tokens usually have another thread to discus price and leave announcement thread fro development and support talk.
2174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee gives speech at the Barcelona Blockchain Week 2019 on: November 12, 2019, 01:55:21 AM
Just saw this video on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhJXIOEbvKY

I'm not a fan of the guy, and think his BTC price predictions is way too bullish, but he makes some interesting points in this video, explaining how you can't shut down DEX's, talking about governments and how the IRS wont be able to tax people who makes use of these.

I got goosebumps from just listening to this, and hope my speculations pay off. I'm accumulating projects like: Blocknet, Stakenet, Komodo, and a few others. If these projects takes off and get mass adoption, you could make a hefty amount of profit from the trading fees alone.

I figure a lot of wealthy people wants to get in on this eventually, as we saw in the past with the "Panama Leakage". The wealthy and powerful elites out there would LOVE to use this.

Thoughts?  Cool

He know crypto. HE knew it 3-5 years ago I fist heard talk about. His problem is that he have low morals. So you have no ideas when he is lying or not. So today he talks like this tomorrow will want to sell you one shitcoin with same granpa voice.
2175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Emerging Markets of Cryptocurrencies on: November 11, 2019, 11:10:45 PM
Centralized and Semi-Centralized Cryptocurrency

On centralization side, we will have improved centralized currencies and cryptocurrencies. Central banks will eventually integrate more technologies. They may record and publish their currency operation on a public digital ledger. Private companies have made strides in providing stablecoin connection between crypto and fiat. Tether is an example of stablecoin connecting crypto and fiat. Ripple and Stellar are trying to adapt crypto software for traditional financial system.

Libra departs away from centralization. Facebook introduced the Libra Association which includes reputable members. Libra software is open source. Libra governance can be more transparent than other centralized currencies.

With cryptocurrenicies you have many shades of decentralisation. It is not black and white as many thinks. and also not just few options as your picture shows. They are many many more. Even when we talk of decentralization there are several. One and main is how is reach consensus. In PoW crypto currencies is with mining. And only here are so many variants how decentralised it is. It depends even on how affordable miners are.  Can they be bought in Afghanistan Guatemala and Uganda? A lots of coins is mined with ASIC miners that rare can buy.

But there is not only consensus that needs to be decentralised. It has to be same with development. How to decide what will be developed next.  There are probably other things. Exchanges. Merchants. Whole infrastructure. As I said there are many shades of decentralization. And we would be probably very surprised what coin is most decentralised at the end.
2176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i make 50.000$ fast ? on: November 11, 2019, 09:21:24 PM

2177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Betting : A big problem to crypto? on: November 11, 2019, 08:58:29 PM
I think betting is sort of fading away now, there was a time it was as though almost all projects coming up was for betting so it was kind of tough to recognise good betting platforms then and almost everyone was running after it back then and truth is many are gone..they have folded. To me betting isn't a problem as we always encourage people to do proper research before investing in a platform...so betting isn't an issue in crypto.

Yes I believe OP have old data. There used to be one betting website early on. I forgot the name and who found it but he is famous. I believe he had enchain betting and  that time most of transactions were made by gamblers there. Today with fees that cost that would of course not work.

You are lucky they burned 55b XML and not dump it on market Tongue  Then you would not be that cheerful. Smiley  They were their coins, they can do with them whatever it pleases them.
2179  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE.me - Crypto Casino 🎰 Now Accepting EOS | Roll Hunt | Bonuses on: November 11, 2019, 08:08:21 PM
Anyone here using EOS? Just realized the price is around $3.50 right now, I don't remember the last time I checked but it was about double that the last time I was considering to buy.

@slaman29 I’m not using EOS but you can check this link https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/eos/historical-data/ and you’ll see it’s 52 weeks low price was $1.56, and if bitcoins prices fall further then EOS prices will also fall from current levels so it’ll be a risky purchase.

Come on. Slowly time will come when alts will stop dropping and they will start growing together with Bitcoin. Nothing goes just in one direction forever. Maybe the time is already here. Maybe as soon rain stops at end of the week. Smiley
2180  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Halving Effect??? on: November 10, 2019, 11:08:52 PM
Today I read about Litecoin/LTC halving on August 5, 2019 and the halving effect after three months is negative, it's down 30% since the halving.

Is that also what can be expected of the Bitcoin halving?

From June on all coins lost value. Bitcoin Lite coin, Monero. All. Halving have long term influence on supply. Influence is with each halving smaller. It is not the only factor of supply. To get the price supply met the demand. If demand will not increase, price will not magically increase. But pressure of supply will reduce a tiny bit.
