2.8 now.. but lobogil has most of the hash, he might as well be solo mining..

That's s0br mining with rentals on his own. I don't think anyone is daft enough to mine here now - too many have been scammed/unpaid.

Hate to say but it show 40+ miners mining and doubt they are all s0br... not sure why anybody else would be mining there at all?? pool is at 3.1PH/s

Feel free to join in then - good luck getting paid......

Not me, been there and tried that before ....just stating facts

I bought two s7's using money on a credit card (converted to BTC) but it has low APR and I get points for using it.. coupled with free electricity I should be alright.  The only reason I can see taking out an actual "loan" for gear would be starting a large farm and needing capital.. but youd have to start off pretty big

I could borrow 7500 for 6 months 0 interest. I could order 4 s-7's

Interest is only part of it...we dont know what the difficulty is going to do or if the rigs will ROI. Me and you Phil being retired have less at risk but someone hoping to make enough to pay off that CC have a lot at risk.  But a interest free loan is always good when you got the money to pay off the loan when your ready.

I disagree if taking a loan out for large farm is right it should be the same for a small miner as well....

226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Um.... I don't think the power company is going to like this! on: September 15, 2015, 11:06:17 PM
I have seen a electric service on a house upgraded to 200 amps from 60 and most the times the electric company leaves the thin wires from the pole to the meter. Even with a 400 amp service they may have a weak link going to the meter which could be causing problems or loose connections in the meter base. Either way its a fire hazard which you Insurance company could question you on if you have a fire as they may consider a 400 amp service on a home or what your doing as commercial.

of coarse once the DIFF goes to far up they sell them they already took the best profit anybody could ever make anyway.

I think we will see the diff level off for a while (kind of like what we just came out of the last 4-6 months) once it climbs high enough and a lot of efficient equipment comes out of service, and the S7 may be profitable for a while.

Well... The miners would have done better than on any other PPS pool, but not better than any pool.  I showed that p2pool did better than BAN during the timeframe when things were all working as expected.  Anyway, time marches on and hopefully people learn from their mistakes Smiley

FWIW, most of the hardcore attacks coming from that single guy were in the name of P2Pool. Not saying you're in that boat too, but one guy with a giant P2Pool stick up his ass caused most of the undue drama around this pool.

Blaming other pools for your own failings does not reflect well on you, especially after reading through your comments on your scam thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=782765.0

Bitaffnet why does not reset the password?

Because the pool is abandoned.

Pool shows 1.8 PH/s so I don't think its abandoned at all
229  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Hands On] Bitmain AntMiner S5+ - Notlist3d on: September 08, 2015, 11:46:01 PM
Have you experienced loss of power where the miner then starts back up after the power comes back on. Just wondering if its a problem with the hash boards and and controller all coming back online at the same time? The S7 has the same sequence of powering the hash boards then the controller and wonder what will happen when I power my S7 with 2 PSU's and experience a power outage and it comes back on?

Just ordered with the coupon and the shipping got it for 7.319BTC which is a lot less than I was looking at on the first couple of days. Now it's time to put the my last S3 and S5 on EBay.

Since this turned into a power thread, how hard is it to wire a 220v circuit in my house in the US where everything is 120v?

Its easy as log as you want the 220v plug-in close to your panel (eg mine is in the basement where I have my miners) but once you buy a 220v breaker it will pull 110v off each leg and give you the 220v. Just match the breaker, plug, outlet and wire for the same amps you want. The only other thing is how much your pulling off your panel already and what size service you have coming in to the main breaker.

Yes waterheater i mean. So you do have 220v So why is all this discusion about then? Just change the outlet to 220v.

And the cooling. I think the two jetengines will solve that but still have to work it out.

This is what i did with my S5 but don't think it's going to work for the S7... Embarrassed
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1095605.0

I actually have a 220V outlet socket on my breaker box where the prior homeowner used it for a sun tanning bed.  But almost all everyday appliances use 110v including computers so most PSU's used are 110v and this is why I bought RM1000 PSU's for resell later as it would be hard to sell them if 220V.
233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 06, 2015, 10:55:26 AM
Hi guys,

I see you got some big problems with your power outlet in the usa. But how does that work for you? I'm in Amsterdam and ofcourse we have 230v and 16A outlet. So i can use 3600 watt on one outlet. But i see you guys can only run one S7 on one outlet?? So my question is how many outlets a house have there? And don't you have some household stuff that takes like 2000 watt? (watercooker ore so)

And one more thing..... The sound the S7 is going to make. We all know it is going to be loud.......very loud. But you can just build a box around it and problem solved. Right?

Watercooker I take you mean to be a waterheater? And if its electric they are 220v. Most modern home have 220v coming into the house here in the USA. The 220v is used on electric stoves, water heaters, cloths dryers, hot tubs and water wells. Almost all other sockets in the house are using one leg of the 220v to give 110v. Getting a 220v socket added to the side of the electric panel is not expensive if you have the room for a new breaker.

Your box idea may indeed make thing quite but then you will have a cooling problem.

Can someone tell me if Bitmain Tech is reliable ... will i receive my shipment
We are worried to order because of the payment methods ...

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks !

Bitmain is very reliable but the shipping to certain countries, other than the USA, can have its own set of problems. I live in the US and have my miners shipped UPS. Its fun to track/watch them make their way from China thru Alaska to Kentucky and then to me in Indiana. This has been done in 2-3 days time and at my door! By far the shipping to the US is great!

May I remind you of something called "HALVING" before going crazy on a purchasing spree?

That is a million years away.  By the time halving arrives, each and every S7 will have long been tossed in the bin.  Miner lifetime is far shorter than that.

Why would no one be running S7's when halving occurs next year?  I still got all my S3's hashing away. Just cannot bring myself to turn them off. I am still getting 2.7TH out of those old units.

Most old mining gear does not break even with electric cost so when the blocks half the amount the equipment earns will be cut in half. Will the equipment still run ...most likely but you will be better off to buy the coin instead of the electric.

I am not an electrician. Can somebody please tell me if I can run one of these on a standard outlet for an apartment in the USA? I would buy the power supply that bitmain sells.

Yes. It only uses around 12 amps I believe. Most U.S. circuits are at least 15 amps, and yours are probably 20 amps. As long as you don't have a bunch of other things plugged in on the same circuit you should be fine.

You are correct but its important to look at the wiring coming from the electric panel. A lot of newer homes use a 14/2 wire and are a 15 amp circuit and if a 12/2 wire was used will handle a 20 amp breaker. Not so sure I would use a 15 amp circuit if your pulling 12 amps 24/7 better to upgrade to the 20 amps.

EDIT: I just seen that the PSU from Bitmain is a 220V so you would need to have a 220v outlet which in a apartment would only be if you have a electric dryer or electric stove. So I dont think it will work well for you.

Anybody with extra coupons I may order a miner if I can get a coupon. With the slight uptick in BTC and a coupon I think I will have just enough to get one. Bitmain ID: Aurel57

727miner, out of curiosity where were you renting from?

Has anyone found a block using Nice/WestHash?

The group of us that Phil ran, used NiceHash and found two blocks on this pool. The second block came like within a hour of the first. We hit nothing prior or after even tho we tried many times.
