221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: October 11, 2016, 03:22:45 PM
etc will go to 0.0015  Huh

I hope it won't come to pass, I bought my ETC token at 0.0045BTC but decided to hold the token because I believe the reward is greater than the risk, more than half of the value has dropped since then, now it doesn't matter, the best thing to do is to hold and wait for Dapps to be launch on the chain and I see one or two ICO starting soon also to be launched on the ETC platform
keep dreaming!!
yes we keep the dream of a fair ethereum alive.
i agree there are a lot of good dapps on the way and two ICO are launched soon
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 11, 2016, 10:17:33 AM
Hi, i am a newbie, which is real blockchain? etc or eth?

Look at the price of both coins and you'll know  Wink

price doesnt say anything
eth is the chain with the dao fork means the chain was rolled back  and the dao including the hack was erased

etc is still like the original ethereum from the crowdsale was.

but soon both chains need to do a new hard fork.
becouse of the diff bomb vitalik and devs implemented and becouse of the replay attack risk on both chains.
the daohardfork didnt take care of that risks. the fork did just roll back the lost investments.

so till the next fork etc is the original chain.
but if you ask which one is vitaliks chain thats eth.
btw
eth chain is under massive attack of ddos some say hackers are pissed off becouse of the dao fork .

etc does not have such problems and has it easy couse eth chain is sort of the test net . every bug or loophole can be seen at the ethchain and as soon as the have a fix impliment it .

From original ETC site,I downloaded Jaxx wallet for Windows.
I want to transfer ETC from Poloniex to Jaxx, but when I opened Jaxx there are only BTC ,ETH, DAO wallets.
No ETC?
Is it ETH =ETC in Jaxx or where to transfer my ETC from Poloniex?
Thanks
open jaxx
on the uper right you see 3 lines click and it shows you
menu wallets currency
click on wallet and
enable etc or what ever you want
thats it then
close it
then in the jaxx window you see the options btc eth etc dao on the left top follow the aron till you see etc and click on it
you see your recive or send adress
hope that helps

etc is very stable in price. for indo  go to  https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/
or
http://www.etccoin.online/category/eth-classic/

there are so many page you find infos about progress etc makes

keep in mind its stable as can be and its only 2 month old.

i watch the price since beginning and it seems to be almost always 10% of what eth is. but it can do what eth does so its undervalued for me.

it has a growing comunity
and more and more realice its here to stay. big names in the game show interest.

226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 30, 2016, 08:42:18 AM
Why do you think its buy time? Is it just a feeling, or do you know something we (I) dont know? Do you guys think ETC will have ha future? What about the "stolen" coins(I know they are not stolen, but i dont have the right word for it). When then "Attacker" sells them all, wont that mean the price will fall?

first GDAX needs to restore lost coins from the replay attack. gdax wasnt protecting there customers coins and have to buy them now .
the attacker could have sold his 3.6 mill coins but didnt and i would think he/she wont out of many reasons.

same as the eth devs or big whales who have lots of etc if not sold same as they have eth . those guys are not stupid and see what potential etc has ..
microsoft starts getting interested in etc.
so all in all etc has value and the price does not show this right now. imho.

thats why i say time to buy.
and keep in mind comunity . its strong and its forming stronger every moment.

228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 29, 2016, 06:43:32 AM
Time to test new lows, guys. My buys are ready.
Me too, already got few of the buy orders at low filled if price go even deeper will be happy to collect more.  Wink

The price of the ETC is quite stable recently. If there is no big bad news, the price will not drop too low.

I think ETC is dead now. The only thing I wonder why is the hashrate so high?
lol couse the pulse is high
its buy time

230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is under DoS attack... on: September 27, 2016, 07:08:19 PM
Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin or it could turn to a even bigger disaster than the DAO.
This i agree, but only the first part. Even if ethereum fails and hits a brick wall in their developing process, run out of money and in the same time being attacked by bitcoin maximalists, even if all 3 happen at the same time it won't be qualified as a disaster. Ethereum technology is even more disruptive than blockchain currency technology brought by bitcoin at it's time, because bitcoin aimed to be just a simple tool but ethereum's fingerprint may be found in the future in everything we do. So if ethereum fails, it will leave behind a revolutionary tech and a changed mentality of the world towards blockchain technology, which was considered a  wannabe digital money technology that's mostly used by bad people.
Ethereum can fail but can also surpass bitcoin yes, i give it 50-50% chance. But considered ethereum's value at this moment, i believe the potential profit chances easily beat the risk. It's really easy to do what everyone else does, create a clone and get rich as a developer, but it's damn difficult to "invent" something new and make it perfectly work in a really small window of time, and it's even easier to simply try to destroy that thing.
Exploiters, hackers, fud trolls, these are small people looking to profit in a wrong way, they're the thiefs, killers and rapists of digital world.

wow so every one not agreeing with you is a
quote:
these are small people looking to profit in a wrong way, they're the thiefs, killers and rapists of digital world.

231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 27, 2016, 11:01:45 AM
I`m not losing any etc, i`m buying more cheap.

Its about to get a hell of a lot cheaper!  DUMP city!  180k  to 150k to 100k to 60k.

I will be buying,  not a single satoshi over 60k now, its going to do a full retrace and never get pumped again, just slowly fade away.

But, hey, i could be wrong.

lol fade away ? seems you dont follow what is acomplished
yes i guess you are wrong.

but yes its no coin for daytrading  and picking up peenuts
its for long run

232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 27, 2016, 06:10:38 AM

so nothing was sold ? does poloniex allow coins from this address (or received from this address) to sell btw ?
you need to ask poloniex
but btw do you say this is the new adress of the daohack ETC? on a rep. attack adress ? how did you find out ?
if so then he/she sold or transfered 0,7 mill already but we didnt see a huge price drop
wonder where those coins went
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 26, 2016, 08:03:34 AM
How much of the hacked DAO was converted to ETC and sold btw? all of it ?

same amount as was on ETH chain was on ETC chain around  3.6 mill. the hacker did donate 1000 to the devs of ETC but they froze them till its clear what to do with it. i think most of etc suporters think there will be aftermath legaly about the hack. so it would be not right to use this donated coins.

as far as i know are the other coins not sold they lay on a adress and didnt move.
the hacker did move them from the dao adress to a new one.

its my info but i didnt check for a while .
the etc comunity did watch couse it was feared the hacker will dump them as soon as he/she can.but nothing happened.

maybe out of fear after exchanges did stop the whitehat hackers from just dumping there coins.
they did then a smart contract and give them back to the dao holders.

me personaly think he/she will not dump them its to dangerous to get cauched.

234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 26, 2016, 07:15:01 AM
I am thinking of investing some of my savings in ETC for the very longterm but first a couple of questions and I hope the answers here are truthful.

How much is Barry Silbert committed in ETC and what is his role in it? I found out that ETC is his first altcoin and that could mean more success for the coin. The problem is we do not know how committed he is and what his plans really are.

My second question is how active is Charles Hoskinson in the development of ETC?

This will be my first altcoin so please guide me well. Smiley
from what i see id say both are serious comited. charles said he will pay core develper to help ETC get a good start . he is very pro ETC he was at tai zens https://youtu.be/FjpfS-XZ0FQ there are more on tais channel thats the last one

about silbert he seems very interested in slack the channel where the devs and the more active comunity members are comunicating. so i got the impression he is realy into it.
i am just a comunity member but i follow it since day one. hope that helps
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 25, 2016, 02:07:41 PM
is etc slacks down ?
I cannot get in slack either.  Maybe its a private club now!

As for making friends with Ethereum.  Some of us are foot solderers of the revolution. If your not prepared to take casualties you shouldn't be in the fight. We don't take kindly to self appointed  leaders barking orders of retreat and reconciliation. I'm not gonna be sold out by some Jonny come lately who wants to cosy up to the banking establishment. You are either with us or against us.

Maybe we have a firth columnist in our firth element?
lol
well you didnt mention the superuser feature that they are now creating
if i could turn the time back i would not give them my btc for there promises ( that they break now) and i would tell everyone to stay away from them

Posting here from reddit thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/comments/543f96/friendly_competition/

"Is it possible for the relationship between both chains to be a peaceful rivalry? I went to an Ethereum meetup and many people were actually quite supportive. Some even open about still owning etc as well as eth. Which in my opinion is a very prudent decision to not sell a free insurance policy. Friendly competition between us will facilitate innovation and accelerate growth in very positive ways. The difference between siblings that fight all the time vs siblings that challenge and compete with each other is a quantifiable example of this dynamic. So we can fight until the other blockhains focused on working hard pass us by or we can push and challenge each other in order to reach seemingly unattainable goals. This is a choice we must all make, I'm confident both communities will choose wisely."

Edit To Clarify : I think both communities are doing a pretty good job of keeping the peace. I posted this in /r/Ethereum as well as /r/EthereumClassic for anyone in either community that chooses to disrupt instead of contribute.

Well quite frankly you do not want to piss off the Empire!  Darth Vitalik and his army of Storm Troopers, because looking around, i dont see and Hans Solo or Luke Skywalker here... probally a few Hairy Ewoks, thats about it.

So it makes total sense to stay on the Empires good side, until ETC has enough forces to make a challenge, but the force is strong with Darth Vitalik, his power grows daily, his blockchain is creeping into world leading businesses....  ETC has to keep the pedal to the metal, full force ahead...

Future Bright for ETC, Keep Darth Happy you must!
lol what a joke

Interesting slides and info, I am a fan of ETH/ETC, understand Vitalik's decision as well as ETC arguments. Hard to decide for me.
yes i know vitalik thought "he" had to decide but he sold the project as decentral and autonom.
i do understand but not that he as a genius boy didnt keep in mind that true consensus cant be forced.
thats the only reason why etc cam in existanc. he wantd to have it his way. go through walls an oldder mind would have said ok lets not do the fork. we can deal with the hack in other ways but that would have slowed his porject and like a little kid he didnt want that . that seems to me like a lack in maturnes. and hmm for the creator and now as it seems person on the top of this hirachypiramid of power in ethereumfork a very bad attitude. for a leader.  keep in mind the more power you get the more selfcontrol you need or you turn into a despot tyran you disconect from the suffer of the people you deside opon . thats what happens in our reality this days. if you have open eyes to see.
