For the non techies amongst us, the talk about the code being not up to date... True, I also would love to see more action on that front. Buttt... Is it bad to have code that is not updated weekly or monthly or on par with the BTC code? The answer is no!
Most of the code used by the entire banking community is from the sixties and seventees, talking about old! It's not updated because it serves it's purpose AND a complete overhaul would introduce possible flaws so a lot of testing needs to be done. The wallet code is just not priority number one but will be addressed I'm sure.
All the scam accusations are a lie of people that make it a habbit of flooding BCT with their posts. Sure the hardforks could have been done better, the code could have been better tested and so on. But if every mistake means someone is scamming someone else I guess the ones who have that blurred mind should see their MD and ask for medication.
The 250K investment for instance is real, as real as the letters in this post, Alltrade knows and I know because we met and talked to this investor. Whitout this investment Jared would not be able to fly around the world and attend meetings. Digibyte gaming and Marketplace are also not created from thin air.
Sure our favorite Trolls over here will deny every word again and again, but they will be proven wrong in the end...
The only 3 alts I know that has updated from old code base to new (0.11) is Litecoin, Gulden and Doge. Bitcoin is on 0.12 since earlier this year. thsminer is correct that the old code will be fine for a long time to come. I have no doubt about the 250k being real and the investor who donated those funds is a hero. |

Sorry, if you are looking for outright lies disguised as "marketing" with buggy software to back it up, in the name of super fast quick short term profits then I think this is not the coin for you. There are already plenty of other coins that fulfil that wish.
The thing about lies is that in order to keep the 'growth' going the lies have to keep getting bigger and bigger until eventually the whole thing collapses, real world users care about things like whether the software actually works.
Over here we are working hard on making solid software that actually works well, this takes time but we are progressing rapidly, in the medium term this will put us way ahead of all the marketing coins, who will all most likely collapse in short time.
Yes we will need marketing (real marketing not lies) - and there will be marketing - but first you need an actual compelling product to market, our product becomes more and more real and compelling by the day so this is not a problem.
Real, proper sustainable growth takes time, but when it happens it lasts, and if we keep doing what we are it will happen, some patience is required though doing things the proper/right way is always harder and slower.
right. quality is important. but without marketing quality unfortunately won't be successful. lisk is nothing more than marketing at the moment but they collected a lot of BTC. I bet they didn't get that much btc. Why would people give that much? After Android is released the community can get involved in marketing.imo You can show off to people and they will more then likely have a iOS or Android phone |

b007 mentioned this coin as one he supports on the digibyte ann. I have had a good look and I like what I see. I have also seen you on code base 0.11, Congratulations on this. Myriad has not updated to the new code base yet. Neither has digibyte with its $250k investment and they have a android wallet that does not work.
There is one problem myriad has and that is marketing. Jared can sell ice to Eskimos but unfortunately this is all the sheep care about. What is this coin doing on this front to create awareness to a wider range of users?
I don't "support" this project, I do think the developers of Gulden and the founders of Nocks BV deliver excellent work and I hope for them and the community at large that Gulden will achieve its ultimate aim. b1007 wants more marketing done for Gulden but there is a lot of it coming from the Nocks team which is good. I don't think Rijk is a marketing person but Buerra does great work. The development team of Gulden however is in the top 5 in crypto and they certainly deserve more coverage. People underestimate the power of having iOS and soon Android wallet that will be usable everywhere. You can live off Gulden no matter where you live for basic living requirements like food/furniture/electronics/restaurants etc. This makes Gulden the most useful currency outside of bitcoin. The kicker is litecoin has a +280 times higher marketcap. |

Have you tried deleting everything in your roaming folder except for the wallet.dat and try start the wallet up again. It will take a very long time because of the amount blocks that have been generated since moving to multi-algo |

Okay, so i checked it for you visaco.
downloaded the Android wallet and sent 10dgb to it to test it. It showed up on the blockchain but not on my wallet, so there is definitely a problem with the wallet.
Its synced and everything so i have no clue how to fix this except to ask the dev team. Hope you don't kill me today for trying to help you
is your wallet fully synced? It would probably take a while as the checkpoint is a bit old (1370000 iirc). Go into settings on the wallet, hit rescan/resync blockchain and the funds will appear after a few minutes. If anyone would like to take on updating the Android wallet we can organize a community bounty for the project ( this is the idea behind digis4commits). A bounty? Surely the $250k usd investment can't be depleted already? $250k investment? LOL you have to be kidding. A coin that literally just forked myriad - spent over a year hyping 'digispeed' which turned out to be just changing a few variables in the code, still managed to screw that up somehow and had to revert the little they did change, has done crap all updates since then. Has developed absolutely nothing original. A proper developer could be hired for a lot less than $250k to do more in a week than this coin has done in a year, other coins are doing a lot more with absolutely no or much less funding, it is quite clear the $250k investment never existed, complete scam just like this coin is, anyone who has not yet twigged on that this is a scam is an utter moron. Was the $250 000 investment ever revealed to the community and was it direct dollar investment or bitcoin ? |

Can someone explain why the marketcap of Gulden is low compared to other coins
We are focused on actual developments, not false promises and hype, this means much slower growth but it also means that when we do grow (which is happening slowly but surely) it will be permanent and not a short lived bubble. and why it's not on poloniex which I trade on?
I'm afraid only poloniex can explain that, as a user of poloniex - if you would like us on there - you should make it known to them that you would like them to add us. The crypto market is very immature. It's 99% about trading, that 99% does not give a rats ass if the coin is more usable then anything else besides bitcoin. It's all about making that quick 5-10% profits. In a few years this should change when the cracks form in the current financial system and the coins with no usage will be dumped faster then a hot potato and this is where Gulden will shine if it continues on this path. Gulden also doesn't have major backing from donors, corporate investors, special interest groups etc everything is done by the people aka community. |

As an Android user myself I want the new Android wallet just as much as everyone else here  Don't worry it is definitely coming... My guess is this android wallet isn't the same as the old one with being able to pay at bitcoin merchants? |

Considering the fact that gulden is the only crypto currency next to bitcoin that already has real economy functionality and that it is more userfriendly than bitcoin and is rapidly evolving, I think the current market cap is ridiculously low. I think in the medium term a market cap of 500 million is justified. However I think it's hard to notice a gem amidst an ocean of fugazy coins. Well, only a matter of time I suppose, we are still in the early adopter phase, two years from now people will be looking back asking themselves how they could have missed this opportunity.  While the above is 100% accurate for Gulden. Many a scumster say the same about their ponzi schemes and scams and when new visitors read your message they will laugh it off as hype. This is because they don't do any research. Those who have done their homework get the rewards but ultimately it's the team and community behind Gulden that deserve all the credit! |

In Europe I would be out of fiat altogether except to pay monthly expenses. They going to do more stimulus and more negative interest rates by central banks, in the US they are going to try keep the stock market alive until after the elections to give the democrats a chance. You don't need PoS anymore because of negative rates in Japan too. Gulden releases the Android wallet like the iOS one to pay at Bitcoin and Gulden merchants and it will be a big deal. |

 After listening to your feedback we've decided to also do a Prime only funding, the combination with the physical coin is also still available. https://funding.gulden.comI have bought 5 packages. I can recommend this to everybody!!!! Okay and why do you recommend this? I am also from the Netherlands but don't see the point buying this. The way I view Prime is it will bridge the gap needed for fast payments. Instead of waiting for long block time confirmations. Ideal for merchants but interested to find out more about the additional blockchain security that will be added. |

Totally agree, although I haven't been following bitcoin or any other currencies for the last few months, I still keep myself updated on Gulden developments and my coins saved in cold storage. Yeah . The only problem is that Gulden doesn't have any trading volume. I mean, it's listed on Bittrex and have only 1 btc volume.Thats pretty ridiculous on an exchange like Bittrex. Unless the crypto cartel get involved and form a pump group it most likely won't change much. The problem is the cartels had no hand in creating this coin and therefore no pump or dump really come for it. The alt coin world is one big farce anyways besides Gulden and maybe 1 or 2 others. Most coins come onto bittrex for a week or two have massive volume and 3 months later they dead. Gulden almost 2 years old. Its perfect that no pump and dump groups are affiliated with Gulden. This is why the price is has been more stable then bitcoin of late. Ok i understand this, but it's pretty silly that without pump groups "support" there is almost no volume Gulden is not p&d just for buy and long hold And what grants you that there will be hundreds of BTC volume in the next months,years? Unfortunately you can't predict nothing in "Crypto-Land" Luckily for us we are not playing in "Crypto-Land" and are focussing on the people who are not into crypto right now. Those people didn't have easy ways to buy Gulden, but Nocks changed that yesterday. Why should they first buy/use Gulden, when BTC is the "base" of all cryptos now? From a investment and usage PoV Gulden will be ahead of litecoin when the team releases the Android wallet to match the new iOS wallet of paying at any bitcoin and gulden merchant. You can do this for online stores using Nocks website to pay at bitcoin merchants. There is also plenty Gulden merchants that accept Gulden directly in NL but for foreign users and Dutch tourists they have peace of mind that they can use Gulden at bitcoin merchants when they travel. |
