421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: June 01, 2015, 09:41:42 PM
Hi,
I've got a technical issue.  I just downloaded the new mac wallet and copied over my old wallet.dat file.
However when I open the wallet I get this
"System error: CDB() : can't open database file wallet.dat, error -30974".
and this
"A fatal error occurred. Guldencoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.
EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CDB() : can't open database file wallet.dat, error -30974
guldencoin in Runaway exception"

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have another backup of the wallet.dat file or tried using the wallet from another machine?

I have started a food for thought topic regarding Guldencoin supply and how the 1.68 billion should be delivered over a 40 year time frame. Please feel free to get involved in the discussions.

https://guldencoin.zone/threads/the-bigger-picture-for-guldencoin-supply.105/#post-1194\
https://community.guldencoin.com/t/the-bigger-picture-for-guldencoin-supply/1081

Digibyte also changed their reward rate from 50% to a 1% decreases more frequently , this is another option that guldencoin can look at. Overall I would be down with a static block reward for 40 years, the coins consumer growth in theory will increase with time so it is a better option. Too many new users to cryptos are scared to get involved with bitcoin at such a high price. Normal users don't think about mBTC and only look at the whole coins value.

From Digibyte announcement post:
Scarcity: 21 Billion DigiBytes will be created in 21 years.
1% Monthly New Minting Reduction: New DigiByte production decreases 1% every month.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you pick an altcoin on: May 31, 2015, 08:42:15 PM
Very good summation of what the problems are for 99% of the altcoins, I picked out this sentence because it's the most important.

At this point though why buy it if Im not going to use it for something. Why have interest in new coins when there is nothing more behind them?

I used to know what makes me pick an altcoin. But at this point I am truly clueless.

So, I challenge you to find which altcoin(s) have the most real world usage. Coins that are useful now and will be even more useful in the future. (bitcoin excluded)

If you can find one better than StartCOIN I will buy it.

Guldencoin Wink

Can I send you my guldencoin address for the guldencoin tip when you research into that coin? Smiley
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Guldencoins value so low on coinmarketcap? on: May 30, 2015, 04:01:33 AM
This is a serious question for those that have looked into the currency. I am not trying to hype it but maybe they not doing something right that I am unaware of?

The last thing you should be worried with when it comes to NLG is the price, if anything you should be happy this coin is trading at such a low value. They launched DELTA 17th May  which was there first innovative core dev project and it was a great success. It is the most advanced readjustment algorithm. The results speak for themselves if you look at the link below and the block chain has been running like a dream ever since. This also means more supply is coming onto the market. There will be a total of 1.68 billion coins in 40 years.

http://nlgstats.iblogger.org/

Besides all the merchants they might have the best development team in the alt coin world, there next update is going to be updating guldencoin from litecoin code base to latest bitcoin code base which hasn't been achieved before even by litecoin which is almost a year behind bitcoin in updates. It is much easier to start a new coin then to upgrade it so this tells me they in it for the long term. The next update also includes a unique MultiAlgo solution and they looking at including a innovative POS setup. All this plus being one of the most usable coins with over 80 merchants in the Netherlands and Nocks.NL which allows you to use Guldencoin at any merchant in the world that accepts bitcoin.

Why is the price so low? They don't have a marketing team to hype the coin it's all word of mouth.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: May 30, 2015, 03:43:12 AM
Development Update:

MaNI has been working on analysis graphs for Multi Algo testing which will begin in June, this will give us a clearer picture on how many ALGOs is the sweet spot when it comes to block times and performance.
Once we have what works best we will look at what is practical when it comes to individual block times vs price for miners to make sure it's still attractive for each algo to get a fair amount of hash behind it.

All testing will be done on the latest bitcoin code base which will be bringing us many new features and putting us on a firm footing to move forward with our own innovation (Besides DELTA) and being up to date with what bitcoin has. Our Multi-Algo solution will be unique to what works best for us.

I only realized now that myraidcoin and digibyte have the exact same MultiAlgo setup but I know the Myraidcoin developer did have a hand in helping Jared with installing it. Really impressed with guldencoin lately with regards to development. Keep up the good work guys!
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: May 27, 2015, 03:47:51 PM
Is 1.68 billion coins total supply after 40 years too much for a country coin ? I understand more then half the supply will be out in first 4 years which is putting pressure on the price. I can't understand why nlg is so low on marketcap when it is 10 times better then coins above it ? Can someone explain what the problem is ?

Guldencoin is the best. Don't worry so much about weekly price fluctuations.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: May 26, 2015, 03:47:02 AM
Finally it's back. Good to see the new project is already being worked on. Will there be more info on the new PoS system coming out ?
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: May 21, 2015, 03:04:29 PM
Read the latest updates about 0.10 code base , multi-sig and multi algo. Very excited about this!

Is this true at coinmarketcap.com ? Total supply for now: 4,208,650,562 DGB
Thanks.

While that may seem like a lot, Doge is fast approaching 100 billion and is the same sat price.
i still don't get it why stellar is so popular and shit

how is it even possible that Stellar is more than 20x the price but still worse than DGB?
it pisses me off a bit

It's all smoke and mirrors. Those coins like stellar have a couple of people with large amounts of btc supporting them. Look what happened with paycoin and it came crashing in price.
Digibyte will prevail, it will just take more time.

Number 1. We need some NLG and DGB merchants in the US.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: May 19, 2015, 01:29:05 PM
Ok, ik heb geen idee of wat in de OP staat nog steeds waar is maar zo ja, hoe kom ik aan m'n gratis guldens? Cheesy

In order to evade any misunderstanding, here the English version:

Ok, I have no idea if what is stated in the OP is still true but if so, how do I get my free guilders*?

*(Guilder appears to be the English term for Gulden)

Hi Remonius,

We found the 100 NLG distribution wasn't going anywhere, also 90% of the attempts were fraudulent and even with some of the under 2000 claims that were made in the last year, some fraudulent ones slipped through the cracks. This was with a lot of checks in place.

It was decided that the funds would rather be used for crowd funding projects as per the below post. This will be used to help build guldencoin up with projects that will benefit the coin and create a long lasting infrastructure, up until this point most of the projects have been done without funding which just shows what a great community we have.

https://community.guldencoin.com/t/cpf-community-projects-funding/766

https://distribution.guldencoin.com/#/stats --> Claims that were made for the last year.

Welcome and please let me know if you have any other questions.

this is bulshit, We have never advertised about the free 100 nlg

I do not agree with it

The part you should be bolding is this. Every single airdrop coin has been rigged by either the coin developers or hackers claiming 1000s of airdrops for themselves.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkWVD8MJlS0

I just realized that Jared mentioned in this video that "after 12-24 months from the time of the presentation, you will be able to buy your morning coffee with DigiByte"... Well well well...
We are really getting very close to the beginning of that time and DGB has done a huge progress from the time... Well done and keep it up Jared and the team!

Check this out as well from https://youtu.be/JkWVD8MJlS0?t=681
"6 minutes" and "less than 1 minute..."

I noticed that as well, when I saw presentation first time. Now, what makes you think that we are close?

Because what has been said by Jared is done by today, and September/October 2015 is the time to buy your daily coffee with DGB ?
Lets see Wink

Buy your morning coffee in the UK at Starbucks with Gift off Cheesy

Bring it on!!! That would be incredible. Only altcoin you can get coffee with at the moment is guldencoin at coffee central and I don't live in the Netherlands. Sad

My hashing contribution is now down to 180MH/s.

Hey Bio,

Do you if that occurred during the 42 min block time we just had and thanks for letting us know. The true test starts now but on some decent stable mixed with jump pool hash DELTA works really well at least.

A 2GH/s contract expired at occurred at 07:35 pm. This was the largest single drop

Still looking good with less contributing hash from the community. Amazing actually!
Noticed this site is not updating, is the team able to get it up and running again?

Wanted to post something in the Dutch section but there is no reply link there. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=738997.60
Is this a read only forum?

Maybe open a new topic there.

Is this a read only forum?

I have unlocked the topic for now.
In the past it was made read-only by me, because it was a bit negativ in the dutch altcoin section.

I don't understand how some Dutch people cannot support this coin If they truly believe in a crypto future.
Development is clearly not a issue and it has more use then most coins

Some guys spreading negativ there in the past. Maybe it is better now.

Forgot about EFL. Back to sleep for me. congrats Guldencoin.

What a difference so far. Guldencoin might not even need to go multiAlgo ? Just to think of all those coins that switched to PoS and changed to other algos. Respect to the dev team.

Fantastic news on DELTA! NLG has taken the path less traveled by not aborting the scrypt algorithm because every algorithm will have these issues if the price is right for the coin using it. This is the right move and I know the Noblecoin guys will be jealous of this now.
