It should be around one week on the 22nd May, though I expect we will have a hash power rally when we get a bit nearer

Hi, I saw somewhere that feathercoin will do the hard fork ? As i am getting it right, they will lower difficulty ? Am i right or not ?
The difficulty will be set to change four times faster than Litecoin with a change every 504 blocks and a 41.4% difficulty adjust giving it the same ability to change difficulty over 2016 blocks. This has been a popular solution over at the Feathercoin forum. This change continues Feathercoin's position being four times that of Litecoin like Litecoin is four times that of Bitcoin. Smaller alts are having to come up with solutions to problem that the bigger coins do not have to worry about. Bitcoin and Litecoin can take a certain amount of hash power for granted. To me this has always been the purpose of alternative cryptocurrencies. The alts have to come up with solutions that could eventually used by others.

People are starting to look at who is behind a coin and how genuine it is. These coins that seem to have nothing behind them will soon be ignored. There is still 0pticoin and MC2 both of which seem interesting. MC2 is trying out some new features which could one day make it into other coins and 0pticoin gives some rare and epic drops

I agree. The difficulty adjust needs to be quicker for coins that cannot take some hash rate for granted like Bitcoin and Litecoin. We still have 400,000KH but that still makes it a long time till readjust. We are looking to implement a four times quicker difficulty change with 40% maximum difference on difficulty.

What we have here is compromised forum accounts.
There has been quite a few co-ordinated campaigns against some of the newer coins recently. The thing to look at is probably the other coins that have not been subjected to this sort of treatment. It is hard for me to put it all together. I'm spending a lot of my time fire fighting FUD.

My bitcointalk account has been hacked and someone has been posting bullshit about Yacoin. I don't really know what to think of it.... I haven't had any Bitcoin stolen, I don't even have any on this PC!
Check 'my' recent posts....
wtf
Thanks. That makes sense of everything. Unless YAC has hacked your account to say that there was no hack

We do not want to end up like Freicoin being kept at a high difficulty for three months. There have been changes made to difficulty before has caused problems for coins. Because of this I am asking for peer review from one of the most experienced members of this community. We will only implement a safe change. A difficulty adjust four times faster than Litecoin continues the four times trend between BTC, LTC and FTC. The difficulty adjust is aimed 40%. This will not bring miners rushing back but would encourage some to mine Feathercoin again. Going this route will allow us to avoid becoming a bubblecoin.

I want to see diff back to 0.27, not 27. If I helped this would not happen.
I thought I should mention that it will not go to 27 but to 47. The mining stats page does not have a lower limit which I will get fixed.

Thanks for dropping by TheSwede75 While we are looking at technical solutions some members started a rally and asked others to join in. It seems that some are willing to contribute which really shows some community spirit. It is good to see some people who do not just mine for profit like myself.

Can you PM me the transaction details and your output of getmininginfo?

has the feathercoin forum some sort of minimum number of post before you can post in certain areas? not able to reply in the life support thread...
You have to make one post in the newbie section to be able to post in the rest of the forum. This is to keep the spam bots at bay.

In the middle of all the discussion about changing the difficulty someone with some decent hash power started a hash power rally. So far we have seen a 5.4% increase in hash rate knocking off a day from the retarget time. If anyone wants to participate why not join in the discussion over at the Feathercoin forum in the link below. http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=364.0zerodrama pointed out that the give-me-ftc pool pays out on 10 confirmations which saves having to wait for 120 confirmations during these slow transaction times. https://give-me-ftc.com/@digger I wonder if this is something that you might be able to implement in your pool?

YaCoin is different than the other coins because the intial coins were mined by millions of normal people with CPUs. Thus, there's already a lot of stakeholders.
As soon as YaCoin is able to be mined with GPUs there will be another wave of stake holders.
This is different than any other altcoin so far.
For this reason I think YaCoin will be valued much higher on the exchanges. Obviously it will go to an exchange.
Or few hundred smart enough to rent amazon clusters. People like me! Attention should be paid to the above comment. It occurred to me when people started complaining about the difficulty to mine coins on their decent CPUs, that there would be a few who would be setting up CPU farms which is easier than ever to do in this modern age. Personally I think YAC is excellent as it has made an attempt to keep the GPU miners at bay and therefore allows more people to join in coin generation. How this pans out over time is another matter that I am keenly watching.
