2201  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will governments do next to manipulate Bitcoin? on: June 12, 2020, 12:26:28 AM
Personally, it does not seem to me that governments are too interested in BTC at the moment, for the simple reason that it is a very small market in terms of value.

The governments as a whole probably aren't but certain influential people in those governments are interested, I'm sure of it!

If your average middle class worker thinks Bitcoin is a fast and easy way to make some money those high tollers also know it and they have the means to make it happen. They can change laws get their rich friends to invest and they can create FUD if they want to.
2202  Economy / Speculation / Re: TA indicates a sharp drop soon on: June 11, 2020, 10:44:31 PM
$10,000 will end up like many other strong resistances in the past, it’ll get breached 100%. We may see a dump in the near future but so what. I’m more interested in the long term price direction not short term movements.

Of course.

The more times a level gets hit it becomes weaker and it's like that in both directions. We've been hitting 10 thousand for a while now and it's not going to keep resisting forever.

Bullish expectations point towards 10 thousand this year but I can see us at least touching last year's top of 14.
2203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges not accepting mixed BTC, so is BTC no longer fungible? on: June 10, 2020, 10:04:38 PM
One day most Bitcoins will be mixed and what then? Exchanges who won't accept them will lose revenue and all traders will move to exchanges that do.

It's stuypid to taint bitcoins. Normal users who will buy some coins from someone or sell a physical item will inevitably get some of those mixed coins and add them to their clean coins. What then? Will all their coins become tainted?
2204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should never become fully anonymous- don't fool yourself on: June 08, 2020, 09:26:10 PM
Bitcoin was maybe fully anonimous at the begininig and now it's not. With time Bitcoin has lost a great deal of anonimity and transactions become more traceable. To.think today that Bitcoin is anonimus it would be foolish thing to do and it's not only because of KYC. At the end, although we all like our privacy, we need to give up a part of our anonimity for the protection and safety.

It used to be when you were able to mine but then you weren't able to really spend it because the acceptance was so low.

I think that the best time to anonymously spend was when all those now defunct exchanges like BTCe were running. You could really use Bitcoin and then get all the information wiped when the exchanges disappeared. Cheesy

You can still avoid KYC if you want but most people prefer to associate their real ID with their exchange account through the middle man (bank).
2205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pablo Escobar and Bitcoin and Satoshi Nakamoto on: June 08, 2020, 08:32:57 PM
You can see this guy is looking for money whenever he can.

He sued Apple, tried to patent Bitcoin, now is trying to make money on his news about Satoshi. The same kind of attention seeker as CSW - which is actually the worst kind.

Quote
Escobar Inc. was behind the “Diet Bitcoin” project, a fork of the BTC chain that was transferred to the ETH chain last year.
In that picture he looks like the one in need of a diet.
2206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto regulations still have a chance? on: June 08, 2020, 08:16:34 PM
Many people belief that the only solution crypto space needed is regulations, what will this solve? The biggest crypto problem is scammers, how can regulations cure this disease? Because regulations can only work on centralized exchanges and projects, what do you think? Drop your thoughts and let's hear you out?
I think only regulations can stop cryptocurrency dump because scammers can announce only fake projects. Regulations are needed everywhere in our universe. Some regulations should be fixed from blockchain. If new projects choose this blockchain, they have to follow these rules like they can't increase or release any amount of tokens they want and coin should have maximum supply.

If you think that the government and their rules will save you from being scammed you must be living in a different world.

Regulations aren't needed and won't change much. They will reduce the number of scams but only those who are not cunning and daring enough.

It's not the scammers that are the biggest problem in crypto but the people who grew up thinking due diligence is not important because there's a government official's shoulder to cry on.
2207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it time for us to get back to trading? on: June 07, 2020, 09:58:29 PM
Generally this is our anticipation to return to normal levels which is actually on trading to transact somethings in business I think Sun were gradually lights up from the historical impact of pandemic virus at this season, so we could basically focus again to revert meaning that we are free from the grieve but awareness is advised such as social distancing because viruses are still slowly propagating throughout the  different country .

I think that we are already in the "normal" since 10 thousand dollars for BTC is really a good level to start another big bull market from.

If we talk about the benefits of coming back to trading we should definitely point towards the price action on June 2 and again today. These sudden explosive moves are a great opportunity for a trader who can catch them.
2208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘Bitcoin and Black America’ Author: Protest by Buying BTC on: June 07, 2020, 09:53:22 PM
Bitcoin is anti-system so ther'e doing the right thing trying to use it as a tool for protests.

If they don't support what the government is doing they also should not support the current monetary system and show it by using Bitcoin instead of government issued fiat money.

I don't agree with using Bitcoin like a tool in a race war but i'm ok with it being used in an anti government campaign.

no they are not. they'd be rekt and without money since the government will only impose more rules on them. its not the best time to be anti government while there is corona yet. doing protest and mass gathering will just wipe them all up in the face of the world. this itself is a revolution in the act since gathering is already prohibited.

There's no good or bad time to be anti government! You either are or you're not.

Corona doesn't mean anything. We don't even know what effects it has on people since half of the infected have no symptoms and out of the other half maybe one for every 10 needs to be hospitalized.

Your comment proves that the pandemic made people more scared and awaiting for the government to save them and this is what the government really wants to seize more power.
2209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you read about crypto? Favorite sources? on: June 07, 2020, 09:35:03 PM
Reddit, Twitter and Bitcointalk are the best combination of sources if you need to keep up to date

I also mainly use bitcointalk but sometimes check out some reddit posts.

On top of that I watch a few youtube channels and my opinion on the news sources is as follows:
Crypto news sites are crap. They repeat FUD and their articles are often biased especially on sites like Coinidol. Coindesk is far from being the worst here but I don't read it.
Most youtube channels are just spreading hype and repeating catchy phrases after each other.
Forums are the best but you have to be able to filter information on your own.
2210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should never become fully anonymous- don't fool yourself on: June 07, 2020, 09:23:17 PM
People might be exchange Bitcoin right now anonymously but just like Monero it will be harder to do it in the future once a full enforcement of regulation will happen which is inevitable. Majority of the governments who are willing to accept cryptocurrencies are always pointing about the regulations the industry will undergo in order for it to be accepted. Since the characteristic of it only digitally existing their KYC process and enforcement are always round the clock due to AML compliances, the enforcement might not be strict in your country now but once the crypto industry becomes popular in your country I would expect anonymous transactions happening in the internet would be less and less likely to happen.

Majority is the keyword for me here. There will always be some people ready to exchange it for you without asking for your ID.

Even with KYC there are some limits. Many exchanges allow you to skip KYC if you don't go above 5000 dollars or something like that. For me that's fine because I usually exchange less than 1000 at a time.

Like gentlemand said wven when they all restrict it there will be someone ready to go against the majority.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: House Edge -- Is It Really Required? on: June 07, 2020, 09:12:13 PM
Physical casinos don't really need a bankroll to profit because they can work around it by asking players to pay entry fee or something like that but they found that hidden costs are always the most effective. People asked for money on entry may be discouraged and not willing to pay. Those who pay a share of profits or a hidden fee in every bet somehow take it much easier.

What I'm trying to say is that it's nor required but casinos did their homeworks and found that it's the best way to maximize profits.
2212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did Covid-19 affect crypto gambling? on: June 07, 2020, 09:02:59 PM
I feel like this corona pandemic lockdown made the crypto gambling industry to boost up more from their past because people no need to visit casinos and also they will not be having any issues if they olay on gambling sites which has no KYC policies.

One who is living their life from their monthly salary and having gambling as their regular habit got affected but as you said its expensive form of entertainment so more people who got money will be spending online for now.

Yup, it increased the profits for sure especially due to lockdowns.

People were made to stay at home and work online so they were able to do things they weren't able to during work. Like you wouldn't be able to gamble at work because someone might come in and catch you.

Also in many workplaces casinos and porn sites are blocked and you can't even access them or get a warning if you're found doing it. At home you're free to do whatever you want.
2213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble to escape your problem? on: June 07, 2020, 08:55:38 PM
I know this is not right, but when I have problems, I really think that a glass of whiskey and gambling is a good idea.

And this will make you in more trouble because when you will drink whiskey , you will be out of your mind and you will never know how much you have lost in gambling. By the time you get into your senses you will realize that you have lost good portion of your money in gambling too. This will only increase your problems.

Out of your mind after a glass of alcohol? Maybe if you have low tolerance or are underage.

Normal person won't get drunk on a single glass and won't gamble away life savings in a casino.

Gambling to take your mind off a problem is not that bad if done right.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A day to celebrate and pay tribute to casinos? on: June 06, 2020, 10:57:47 PM
If we made a casino day we'd have to make a day for every single business out there because a casino isn't better than a restaurant or a gas station. Should there be a day to pay tribute to gas stations, swimming pools, shopping centers? Should we praise casinos for being there to make money?

I'm fine with them being there and doing what they're doing but I'm not going to pay tribute to them just as I'm not going to pay tribute to bitcoin exchanges.

You must be bored because you came up with a strange idea.
2215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC/ETH contract in Ebay, looks very shady??? on: June 06, 2020, 10:25:12 PM
First red flag I noticed here is getting double of your of the amount you paid in 2 hour.

Double or half ? This guy is selling 0.01 ETH contract for 4.4$ when in fact it is worth 2.4$. It may not be scam (in term that you won't receive ETH) you will most likelie receive it but it is well overpriced. I think that this guy simple feeds on the potential lack of insight into crypto prices by statistical ebay user. That's all.

This!

I think it's legit because he's selling at a profit not at a discount like he would be if it was a scam. He's already making money on this auction without having to scam anyone.

His profit is about $2 so even after paying taxes and giving ebay its share he's left with $1 per trade.

I think he bought ETH for less than $2.5 so his profit is even greater.

2217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I like to learn and use bitcoin on: June 06, 2020, 09:28:43 PM
We don't have to have deep understanding of how something works to be able to use it.

You don't know how many of your home appliances work and you use them every day because you know the effects they produce. You press a button and something happens.

I don't agree that we have to educate the world about Bitcoin. It's enough to let them know it exists and what it can bring to the table.
2218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN AS A DIGITAL GOLD on: June 06, 2020, 09:11:24 PM
Bitcoin is a digital gold, yes it is really good thing for the positive side. It is world's first decentralized virtual currency nobody control them, this is a miracle in the electronic and human industry, demand is more and supply is less.

technically its not, since theres no way you can increase the reserve of gold. bitcoin tho allows removing the cap if consensus is reached

i am not mentioning that gold is also has unlimited cap - its timing is on way different range than 10 minutes

But you don't know what the cap is with gold. It can be just 1x what we have in circulation or 10x that.

We can maybe forsee how much of it is burried beneath but we don't know what we'll be able to mine and how much of it is beyond our reach.

Bitcoin can technically go beyond 21 million but gold can also go beyond what is expected to be mined now if a new and more efficient way of mining is found.
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin donation vs Bank donations on: June 05, 2020, 09:39:05 PM
Bitcoin donation is more secure when it comes to accounting, but majority of the people trust banks than blockchain as only few of us are educated with crypto, and also, they will always consider the volatility of crypto which is risky if the price will go down, if there is a stable coin, then probably that is the best choice.

The volatility is not permanent. It's there only because Bitcoin lacks liquidity on exchanges and there's a lot of wash trading going on.

It doesn't change the fact that Bitcoin donations are not only more transparent but also more secure than their traditional counterparts.
2220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kraken CEO: Bitcoin Would Be Worth $1,000,000,000,000 If the Masses Knew the Pow on: June 05, 2020, 09:32:02 PM
If my Aunt had balls she’d be my Uncle.

Bit of a stupid statement really, we all want bitcoin to gain mainstream adoption but silly statements like predicting unrealistic prices help nobody.

It's even dumber if you add that the statement is made by a business owner.

It's like the potato farmer saying that if we all ate them every day we'd be healthier and the price of the crop would be 10 times higher Cheesy

Another true but just too obvious statement is that if everybody in the world invested any amount of money in Bitcoin it would be worth at least 1 million USD per coin.
