2221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: binance withdrawl fees ERC2.0 on: December 18, 2020, 04:04:29 AM
I was trying to move some coins from Binace to other exchanges and my new ledger wallet but have ran into trouble with fees
I tried moving RSR to a different exchange and had to select  ERC2.0 to move it with a fixed  rate $4.88
I them tried to move BTC to my ledger - I just wanted to move a small amount to check it was set up properly and working
and while I had various transaction options to move it including Binance Chain (BNB) BEP2 they only one they allowed was "BTC" with a transaction fee of $10
I have never seen this before, when I have moved coins from Binance before I wasnt given these options and the fee was normal

Is there anyway around this or some thing I am doing wrong

https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php. The Gwei gas is 67 for average ERC20 transactions. It is not cheap.

On Binance, the cheapest transaction methods are their internal chains BEP2, Binance Smart chain but they are internal transactions. If you want to move your tokens to different exchanges, the alternative to help you save transaction fees can be TRC20 chain. You need to have 2 conditions: Binance supports TRC20 for that token, and the exchange you will move your tokens to do support TRC20 chain for that token.

Move your token from Binance to other exchanges cross-chain makes your a loss.
2222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about DeFi? on: December 18, 2020, 01:33:36 AM
Still the same :
- Nothing different with 2017
- Lending 2.0.
- More insane interest comparing with lending!
Scammers change the words they use for their scam projects and trend. You connected DeFi with lending but I want more: DeFi projects from their blockchain technical characteristics are very similar to the masternode and staking which blossomed in 2017 and peaked in 2018. Instead of calling staking, they are using farming or yielding (as the signature of above poster shows) and participants need to lock their coins or tokens for a while to get rewards.

The stupid is from increases amount of coins or tokens but the price of those coins or tokens fall. The rate of falls can be the same as the rate of reward they can get but mostly more. It means investors will end with loss.

Quote
If some trend coming, the trend will be always used for a scam purpose so be careful and educate your self about any kind of investment. But sometimes, everyone doesn't care at all as long they got a profit from the project.
They care about profit but they get loss and they even can not protect their capital.
2223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin reaches its highest price since 2019 on: December 17, 2020, 02:37:40 PM
im not surprised to see that happened with litecoin as this coin is a lite version of bitcoin. Litecoin will always follow the movement of bitcoin. Bitcoin will be pumping and litecoin too otherwise, bitcoin gets dumped and then litecoin will be dumped too. Litecoin can't leave from the domination of bitcoin but it's good to see litecoin reaches new ATH.
Just hope that litecoin will be going back to the its all time high.
You are cheated if you look at the price in USDT. Litecoin price rose in USDT because bitcoin sets its new all time high. Litecoin itself does not rally half of its price in BTC if you compare today price to price in early months of 2019 (when Litecoin had a huge rally as its halving). See Litecoin price in BTC

Is that rally of Litecoin (as consequence of its halving) in 2019 gave investors a good view on what could happen with Bitcoin this year? Don't know.

2224  Economy / Speculation / Re: $25,000 can be achieved by end of year? Or January 2021? on: December 17, 2020, 02:34:33 AM
What I am worried about to happen is the same what happened last December 2017, which Bitcoin peaked at its all-time high, around $19,000, and starting on next year's January, Bitcoin started to drop and altcoin season was started, which a really huge run for altcoins before.
It's just speculation, I don't want it to happen again and it's more likely NOT will gonna happen especially on what Bitcoin did from $10,000 up to this current price, it's a more healthy price action compared to the previous all-time high, healthy pumps and corrections.
If you compare, I think a better comparison is to compare this year bull run with 2016 bull run. The capital movements from bitcoin to altcoins can help top altcoins to rock. I don't know when it will happen the condition is bitcoin won't crash and set up its new stable price higher than $20k. Stable price of bitcoin will help top altcoins to rise.

IMO, the price of bitcoin is reasonable if take into consideration how high some DeFi tokens reached in August to September this year. Today YFI token has its price higher than $27k. Why not $27k for bitcoin? Why not?
2225  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Impossible to withdraw from Binance on: December 16, 2020, 03:49:06 PM
The email is received now but the site is so slow - looks like this $20k BTC is not really helping to cool things down.
About 1 hour ago, I even got troubles when log in my account and for a few times after I log in, I saw my account balance is zero. It is weird and I feared my account was hacked. I logged out and logged in again, saw balance but the same issue occured. After 2 or 3 attempts, it works but orders had trouble to be set or cancel.

If I was you, I won't try to withdraw now. Trade is better. Withdraw in crazy time and when market is rocked, you can get troubles. Wait for few hours or tomorrow and you won't get troubles with their withdrawals, don't have to fear of any support requests after all.
2226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nearly 12% transaction fee on the ERC-20 platform! on: December 16, 2020, 02:50:54 AM
As you have said, it's hype so everyone wanted to join the boat and doesn't care if they are going to pay high transaction fee that is it getting absurd by today's standard. Perhaps they think that they can get more value and making profits 10x or even more that they are willing to take the risk of 12% transaction fees on ERC-20 platform.
12% of transaction fee is not a matter if you compare it with the fees people used in September. They spent 200 or 300 or 400 to 500 Gwei for their ERC20 transactions.

Ethereum Avg. Transaction fee
Ethereum Median Transaction fee

See the chart Average gas price (GWei) (last 3 months)

Quote
And that is what hype really is, investors decision become irrational all they see in front of them if $$$. But for average joe like us, we will think twice and maybe just wait further when the transaction fees goes down because our capital money is tied. And we want to squeeze very penny and profit.
It is true that when they are thinking of profit, they skip the temp loss in fee and ignore the risk of price crash even they are buying at peaks or high prices.

The fee on ERC20 chain drops considerably in the last two months after the DeFi ecosystem lost its momentum. You can check the recommended fee with some tools, like this one: https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php

The fee now is 40 Gwei, for average-speeded transactions, it is not too high. ETH/ERC20 - Check and select good Gas price

2228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Xrp - Spark snapshot on: December 15, 2020, 02:32:42 AM
Already dropped by over 20% in the last 7 days and still going down as compared to other coins. Isn't that a significant drop?

It is a small drop if you take into account how amazing its growth is in previous weeks. XRP rallied and increased a lot in past few weeks and 20% correction is not a big one.

Its rally is far beyond any expectation of XRP holders. The price of this rally is still far below the all time high of XRP in 2018 but I think XRP enthusiasts should satisfy with this rally and I hope they already enjoyed by exit. Some can get profits by investment in bottom months ago but some could have opportunity to cut loss after many months of holding and waiting.

They can cut loss, wait for the 20% correction to buy up and wait for the price is lower 20% than all time high to exit. It is a wise strategy if they know all time high is always very strong resistance. 20% below all time high can be more easily reachable.
2229  Other / Archival / Re: Tightening Regulation In The Field Of Crypto Derivatives Trading on: December 15, 2020, 01:50:54 AM
The tightening of regulation on crypto and crypto exchange won't be avoided. It is thing governments will try to achieve as much as they can reach out. Because the uncertainty of policies from exchanges and sudden mandatory law regulations from governments, it raises again the importance of non custodial wallets and the risk of store your crypto on exchanges.

Some people store all of their bitcoin, crypto on exchanges. It is very bad practice.
2230  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe in bitcoin/altcoin market stock predictions? on: December 14, 2020, 03:55:25 AM
You can make your trades that can be (un)-profitable or good trades. A profitable trade does not equal to a good trade. You can gamble and have a profitable trade but it is not a good trade. A good trade is made will full preparation for risk management.

In order to have good risk management, it can not be process with prediction. That's it. Prediction on bitcoin, altcoins, stock markets are unreliable and uncertain.
2231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins have no dividend or potential future dividend on: December 14, 2020, 02:20:58 AM
Bitcoin is not a sort of commodity. It is not a sort of payment method. I am keen on the view that considers bitcoin as a new Gold standard. In traditional market and economy, Gold was used a standard and it was taken over by US dollar.

In crypto market, bitcoin is a digital gold standard for all cryptocurrency and I hope to see it will be a gold standard in society not only in crypto. In crypto market, the standard is clear as coins have their pairs with Bitcoin.
2232  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips to know when trading your cryptos . on: December 13, 2020, 08:25:44 AM
when bitcoin goes up = altcoins will go down (recommendation to buy)
when bitcoin goes down = altcoins will go down (recommendation to save assets)
It is not true at all. Bitcoin goes up, altcoins go up in fiat value but it is different for their pairs with BTC (sometimes up, sometimes down. Most of time down).

Bitcoin falls down, altcoins will go down (I see they fall down in 2 pairs, fiat and BTC).

Quote
when bitcoin is stable = altcoins are worth trading these conditions like altcoins go to the moon.
It is not true at all. It depends on the general condition of market. If the market is in bullish, altcoins will go to the moon. If the market is in bearish, altcoins will only rally a little, not moon.
2233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Polkadot going to Kill Ethereum? on: December 11, 2020, 03:50:13 AM
Polka dot is an open-sauce project
Open-sourced project, do you mean it?

Quote
This is also evident from price movement that we have witnessed during the past month when its price moved from $2 to almost $6 that reflects great interest of Investors in this token. There are some predictions that within a year time , Dot will be Top 3 on Market cap.
It is too soon to say about the future of the project that has only 4 months old. Polkadot. It is listed on many exchange and it is good for its volume and price actions but its future is unknown. You need to observe a project after 1 year to see how their developers work, meet their plans, and keep or give up their developmental activities.

The marketcap of Polkadot is $4,174,651,597 USD and Ethereum is $62,251,605,400 USD. Polkadot price has to rise 15 times to reach the marketcap of Ethereum. It looks impossible mission.
2234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: December 11, 2020, 01:57:38 AM
Only if there was silver backed stable coin.

Gold official, you listening? Tongue
Creative idea but I don't know the GOLD team have their plans or intention to change their Protocol and WhitePaper to expand their project to precious metals, not only gold.

I see some crypto gambling sites create their second sites after the first successful sites so do you have interest in Silver Digital tokens backed by Silver and stored in Vault ?
They are all top Precious metal
2235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🤔 How do you distribute your portfolio? BTC vs Altcoins on: December 10, 2020, 01:57:42 PM
I don't know, but majority of my portfolio belongs to BTC. And then I have some altcoins, not shit coins, those altcoins that are in the top 10.

Of course, you can play around with a lot of shitcoin and wait till it pump and dump but the risk is greater. That's why I've put it in a conservative way. Specially today that bitcoin and alts are really into a rally, so I expect them to grow next year 2021.
You have a good investment strategy by concentration on bitcoin but you are wrong if you think altcoins in top 10 of marketcap are not shitcoins. Their ranks change by their price and their total supply. Dogecoin is a good example, it does not jump to the top 10 but top 20 sometimes on coinmarketcap. Dogecoin has very huge total supply and any pumps can help it jumps fastly on the ranking table. Coins in top 10 also change chronologically and they are not in a fixed list.

Top 10 can help you don't get scammed because those projects don't have scam exit but to say they can help you get profits, it is very different. Investment is related to general market (bull or bear) and your entry price. Ripple is an example, how long does it take for Ripple to recover back to its recent peak? One year or longer and in that one year, many investors lost their capital by cutloss, liquidations with Ripple.
2236  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For newbies when you are using new exchanges on: December 10, 2020, 03:58:42 AM
There will be at least two instances when newbies or even experienced users want to use new exchanges, either:
1. There is a promotion that promises to give x% return of the money they deposited to the exchange (or other kinds of promotions that basically require users to deposit).
2. They need to exchange some shitcoins that are only listed on those exchanges.
You can actually trade and withdraw your crypto from those exchanges before the days they do their exits. They provides a very friendly exchange for developers and users. Developers can list any coin they want. With Altex, they listed many coins free of listing fee to attract projects and users. People who mined or bought shit altcoins need a place to sell it and Altex gave them a place. Finally, people cashed out their shit altcoins to BTC, LTC, XMR, etc. and if they did not withdraw from that exchange, later they will be scammed and lost money.

I don't give anyone my advice that those exchanges are safe and should be used but if they are scammed initially to mine shit altcoins, it is better to have exchange to cash out. The key thing is withdraw immediately after sell orders are filled. Don't trade on those exchanges.

Before scam exits, they often shed some lights of exits. In my topic you can see the exit of Crypto Bridge (forced KYC on US customers and one or few months later, they forced KYC for global users. Weeks later, they exited (with money and identities of users).

I was scammed by Altex but fortunately I did not KYC with CryptoBridge and withdrawn my money in the given time.

Quote
IMO if you need to do those, never do KYC and only use a small part of your money. A better option would be to wait until they prove their security. I've been a victim too in the past because I need to sell some shitcoins, and I never got my money back.
Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless

Headsup
A quick headsup from us: We have been experiencing issues with two of our listed coins (they were still affected by the double counting bug recently found in the monero codebase, even after updating the software). That bug caused a big loss in coins for the exchange and we have put our main currency under maintenance so the people who exploited the bug can no longer withdraw. After a really long investigation we found out that we still lost a big amount. This was caused by the coins software, it was not a bug in our system. We already contacted the developers and we are trying to find a way to solve this. Furthermore our main developers have been on holiday for the past week. We are still a small exchange and cannot afford to offer many developer jobs yet. We will suspend trading for now and keep writing updates on our twitter. We are trying to resolve this situation ASAP, we hope you understand.

I lost my money on the Altex exchange in 2018. It is my bad and my sad story and I don't want you newbies repeat my mistakes.

Bull market means scammers will be more active. Scammers can be scam developers or scam exchange operators. Scam developers create scam projects with scam altcoins or scam tokens. They can create their scam exchanges or can cooperate with scam exchange operators to list their coins and pump the price with listing news.

At the ends, only newbies will lose money.
2238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [GUIDE]Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) on: December 09, 2020, 03:36:47 AM
MACD is too late for traders. It is used to confirm what happened on the market days ago. On the market, price have different changes: rises, falls dramatically and small fluctuations. MACD is useless to shed you a light that price will have dramatical rise or fall in the future. Fortunately it gives you a signal of confirmation that the price now is a stable time with minor fluctations. Minor fluctuations mean price will move ups and downs in a price channel. You will have safe trades in that channel before the day a new price channel will be formed.
2239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ron Paul advises people to be careful regarding bitcoins on: December 08, 2020, 02:22:49 AM
Privacy and anonymity are most fundamental and important things for bitcoiners. In non custodial wallets, you have control on your address and transactions. Use the change addresses for your transactions and if possible try to use VPS (not trial or free accounts) to get as best privacy and anonymity as possible.

About tax, in nations that tax is strictly regulated, it is good for future if you pay tax in full from your profits. If you try to hide your huge income from bitcoin exchange, governments might put you into jails anytime.
