2222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / CurrencyRanks.com - Offical Watchdog of Digital Currencies on: January 07, 2014, 06:31:55 AM
EDIT (2/25/2019): THIS IS A 5-year old thread, idk why u guys bumped it.

This idea eventually morphed into CoinsSource.com (which went out of business in 2015). There's a summary about what Coins Source was at: https://cteadvisor.com/about/

---- Original Post ----

CurrencyRanks

Watchdog of Digital Currencies

What is CurrencyRanks?

We are a non-profit organization that: Tracks, Monitors and Ranks Digital Currencies.

Why?

Have you ever wasted your electricity on a coin that was just all hype or a pump and dump scheme? Lost your money in a IPO, investment scam? Not enough transparency or who's behind the project?

Every-day 10-100 Alt-coins are launched, some even claiming to be the next bitcoin. We are here to open the gate and see who's behind it. Digging in deep and giving (You) the investors and miners the most information possible about alternative coins.

This site will include features such-as:

1) A 1-100 ranking system.
2) DigitalCurrency Foundation stamp of approvals
3) Full-blown articles, specs and information about every new and old Crypto-currency.
4) Watchdog list, what safe and what's a scam
5) User-interaction and forums.

And a lot more to be announced.

Currently, i'm looking for some people to employ. If your interested in this project PM ME.

Some skills i'm looking for:

1) Logo and graphic designer
2) Forum watchdogs
3) Researcher, scan the net for all the latest and newest alt-coins
4) Daily blogger / News writter
5) A second hand in creating the website.

Pm me or just email me at: Anaxai@live.com

Notes:

A) I'm going to start a funding on Bitcoinstarter with detailed information..etc when i have enough transparency to get funded.

B) This is just a public announcement, and the project is currently in progress. We will be launching a new site within the next couple of weeks.

Epilogue

There is serious potential in this area of crypto-currencies, everyday people are wondering and searching for information.

What do you think about this project, do you have anything to contribute? Want to see a certain feature.. just post below.

I'm not here to do an IPO or beg. But i just need enough to pay for the site and some security measures. Pm me if you want to be a donor, maybe we can work something out.

You should also add Bitland, Neon and Shares to this thread.

Hopefully the next batch of people will think twice before investing in the next scams

You should also add Bitland, Neon and Shares to this thread.

As it stands, CurrencyRanks.COM watchdog has been monitoring these scams. They are labeled as scams for the insufficent proof that they actually exist.

IPO is an Initial Public Offering: In the real world, the projects have to be near or 100% ready to go. None of these projects have proven this case.

Visa:      135 btc

Shares:   45 btc

Neon:     13.5 btc
+           116 ltc
+           88,000 nxt

Vero      4-10 btc (Haven't checked recently)

Aero      1.5 btc

Hopefully the next batch of people will think twice before investing in the next scams

What is CurrencyRanks.com?

1) A foundation on monitoring, tracking and ranking all digital currencies on the market, I'll be releasing more information soon.
2) Project in progress, if you want to get involved, PM ME.
3) A site will soon be launched.
2226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Epic altcoins crash? on: January 07, 2014, 03:24:53 AM
A few alts will climb with BTC's market cap. Ripple, Master, LTC, Peer.. etc

And some new faces too. But don't expect all to rise with BTC.

I think that the ones that bring something new to the table will go up with bitcoin while the rest will depend on the miners that own them

I agree man.

Also, coins that will consistently supported. EX: Earthcoin. If an alt coin has major backing and continues to grow, it will blossom into a money tree.

Handwork to mature a digital currency will not go unnoticed.

EDIT: BTW, there will be always the DOGE coin factor, coins that will go viral over night.

So tired of IPO fundraising.

If you are going to IPO, show some proof and stop fucking people in the ass.

OP is not looking at the forum anymore
I heard he got a flight to Thailand and finally enjoy his retirement

OP is laying on a sunny beach with margaritas and prostitutes

It is unlikely. Collected fund is located on OP address still. He didn't spend them yet.

OP is using his bank first

How many times are you going to post this obvious scam?

Visacoin is full on lobster and hookers. He's starting a new donation fund for his 2014 Mercedes

Quote from: Visacoin Whitepaper
Today you can skillfully use skype, twitter and facebook, but you hardly can imagine that you control the tube switch and show your distant friends that you buy a KFC drumstick by one gram of gold with 0 and 1
Can you rewrite this sentence in proper English? (not for OP)

Today's generation of internet users can use Skype with ease, as with Twitter and Facebook. It's hard to imagine, however, that now with those same friends you can systematically prove and demonstrate a purchase of a KFC meal with cryptographic currency, which all equates to nothing more than binary machine code.

Shouldn't really be doing this guy any favours. I'm not a translator.

Thanks. I see difference.
Why does OP keep silence? Did he reply anyone in PM?

If I can't get my BTC back, no one will donate it again, I promise. Our team have tracked this guys' IP, we are working with police to arrest him. This is the biggest defraud case in Bitcoin world!!!
Arrest him for what?

A lot of us have been trying to warn you people about all these IPO scams.

Digital Currencies are not protected by the FTC federal trade commission. There is no government who can protect you from heists. This is BTC nature, no one protects you but yourself.

Are joking or what?
A scam is a scam , a theft is a theft.

pirate40 ?

Theft of what? YOU ARE SENDING BTC to a known risk. There is no theft of BTC. I think you mean a SCAM, in which case, there is nothing you can do about it.

I think they call that, being an idiot.

By any law on this damn earth , this is called a scam.
And of course , only idiots fall for a scam , that's a pleonasm.

Exactly, it's no different then giving your credit card information to buy something.
In this scenario, actions can be taken to retract your money, via centralized agencies.

With BTC, no one is protecting you but yourself. People willingly send BTC to this shit.

You really need to read a bit more about laws. No offense , please !

You need to read more about Bitcoins and decentralization.
