Guys, I know we all lost coins, I myself lost coins during mining.

I just reviewed, in fact Dark Coin is also facing the same issue...
https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin/blob/master/src/checkpoints.cpp

they have been quietly releasing updates  "Evan Duffield 18 days ago - checkpoint to fix fork issue "

To give you an idea of the conversations I am getting off this forum from folks:

"Well he seems to think that DRK is broke as well... which I dont buy for a second... I mined that shit when it launched and I mined the SHIT out of it and there were never any forks... unless this is something new(ish) to the drk source I'm calling bullshit."

So Dev are we talking the newer code, from when the hard fork was initiated to introduce darksend or what? It seems that your above comment was not well received by members of this community, please elaborate further when calling others work out as shite/broken as it seems folk do not see you as being accurate.

+1. I have never lost a single DRK.

I may be able to rewrite the code & prevent starting from fresh. However, keep in mind, it will start from ~27900 where it split with some pools. so any coins after that will not be counted. Just use caution if mining, wait for an updated code.

This isn't good.  So I've been mining for the past 1 1/2 days for nothing?  Since launch, I've lost over a thousand VCs due to pool and fork issues.    Sad

I lost ~ 13,000 VC    Angry
I lost 72 000 on the old version. Should have sold it to a guy offering to buy 9000 for 1 BTC.

That sucks, yeah you should of sold them.  Old version had way more coins though right? Like 100million or something? So gregofdoom still holds the record for most losses, percentage wise.

OUCH! Sorry man.  Hopefully you've moved onto something else.  I won't be mining VC again until everything is working perfect and it's on at least Bittrex.  This coin has potential but has just way too many hiccups.

This is really killing us, it is not an issue with master node etc, but rather code which somehow does not work well with some linux versions.

ERROR: AcceptBlock() : incorrect proof of work
ERROR: ProcessBlock() : AcceptBlock FAILED

once a while Linux wallet produce invalid hash, while validation checks blocks it in Windows OS, but not so in Linux.

The only solution I see if either someone with deep knowledge of bitcoin protocol identify & help with correction or We move to X13 code. This needs to be resolved before be start with exchange.

If everyone or most decide to go with X13 route, it will take me around 1 week time to rewrite code & expect a new launch.

I hope someone senior with bitcoin code experience can help out.

Thanks for the update Dev.  If it takes moving onto X13 to fix these issues. I'm down for it.  Might as well throw in POS while you're at it.  Wink

Thanks DREAMBiG for getting the Dream Pool up so quick.  Question regarding the pool,  is it setup for mining x11 coins?

Today is the beginning of a new DREAM for our coin!  I am happy to announce our first multipool: http://dream.launchpool.us  I've built this pool using the popular node based stratum library for maximum reliability and efficiency.  It checks against Mintpal, Cryptsy, PolonieX and Bittrex to determine profitability.  Mined coins are exchanged for DRM at random times to prevent traders from gaming the system.

As you all know, I am a believer in DRM and I want to ensure that we have the trade volume to stay on the exchanges.  In support of this goal, there will be 0% fees for a limited time.

Seriously, has Evan considered getting a trademark for "darkcoin"?   He'll be able to contact Facebook regarding trademark infringement. They'll most likely give Evan ownership to the page. Since Darkcoin is worth $46+ million, investing a few hundred to protect it is definitely worth it.

Something has to be done regarding https://www.facebook.com/Darkcoin  Posting FUD  Angry

There is a way to make Facebook point to the official Darkcoin page

But it needs multiple votes to make this happen, so If you dont mind plz help us with this.

and then paste in the official url https://www.facebook.com/DarkcoinOfficial

Ok, done.

But I don't see fud on the page?

The FUD was a bit back, saw it yesterday I think. It was a link to an article about is DRK just a P'nD. Didn't even bother to read it because someone mentioned the official Darkcoin page.

One problem though, when I try and edit to point to official page and enter Darkcoin, it doesn't find the other one on the list. Also, the official one has less followers. We need to keep bumping this and get everyone to join the correct page.

The FUD was yesterday when he was telling everybody to sell,
he took it off pretty fast when posts showed up asking him to stop that and take it down.

remember the official page is:
https://www.facebook.com/DarkcoinOfficial

Anyone having issues with their wallet being stuck on block 27969?

Yep, same problem here. No payouts from P2P pool for last 3 hours.
Wallet stuck on 27969.

Sucks. Hope dev gets it fixed quick.

Anyone know the actual total number of Virtual Coins out there at the moment?  I just did some rough estimates and I think we're only around 500k or so.  Since there were only 3000blocks valued at 50VC = 150,000 and the rest ranged from 5VC to 20VC.  We're only on block 27777.  So that leaves 24777 blocks valued at 5-20. Even if you take 24777 x 20 = 495540 + 150000 = 645540 VC's and we are definately lower than that since I didn't average out the 24777 blocks.  So say Virtual coin is worth $1.  The marketcap will only be around $600k.  So freaken low! Keep mining guys.  I don't think we can lose here!  Grin

Hey guys, was there some good news?

Or is this just darkcoin rebounding, totally normal, like it always does? lmao

thanks!

p.s. just want to point out that this is literally the third crash since the huge rise, and EVERY TIME it rebounds quickly and reasonably...

With all the scams, hypes, and false promises going around. I think people are realizing that DRK is a safe bet.  Wink

You can now vote for VC on Poloniex

Nice! Just put in my vote.

Looks like word is getting out. Diff is at 10 now.  Need to make our way on Bittrex and Poloniex.  Keep emailing them guys.   Smiley

no need to rush to an exchange, better fill pockets first.
usualy multipools and easy hands dump fast and hard, comunity build-up first, exchanges can wait
looking forward to seing this coin do some real progress

True.  However, VC's been out for over 2 months now and there's way too many hyped up coins that get listed on Bittrex and poloniex within a day or 2.  Getting on a larger exchange will get the word out fast. It's free advertising.  Considering how low the total coins are and this isn't a 5 or 7 day POW coin. I highly doubt they'll be any dumping.  Not sure how many total coins are out there right now but I'm guessing there's probably around 1 million VCs or so.
Hitting a large exchange will definitely result in dumping. Sure there will be (hopefully) some good new buyers coming into the coin but MANY MANY coins will be dumped by miners who mined the coin early on or who have been mining the whole time and have a sizable chunk. Of course there will be dumping once there is an actual price for the coin. I still support getting on a exchange but don't have unrealistic expectations. The price will probably spike up as people buy trying to find a somewhat reasonable price for the coin and then holders will hear the news get their coins to the exchange and dump it down. A good example is LIMX which hit Bittrex the other day. You should look at the charts and see how things have been since the listing. It will still be very good for the coin and publicity but realize that a lot of people will be there (and here) just to get rid of their VC to make a profit in BTC

I guess it really depends on what you consider dumping? There's not that many coins out there and a rich list would be nice to look at.  There's probably less than a handful of VC whales. Regardless, VC needs to be on a large exchange in order to grow.  What good are bounties if they can't be exchanged for BTC?  Dev will be able to add people to his team.

I have not followed LIMX but it's total coins are like 8 times more than VC.  I would say Virtual coin has a top 10 name for a cryptocurrency.  It would be accepted by everyone if it goes mainstream.   Smiley
