@Crestington what about piggybacking off of an already working digital money transfer system. Like moneygram online. If you can disguise the process
abit and just send yourself the cash which then gets turned into the coin and sent back to the client. The main proble is getting fresh capitol right.

Like how does the average person AQUIRE cryptos without jumping through hoops. Until its convenient (like runpaint said) its just a hobby.

Yeah ok I think being able to circumvent some ways could be beneficial if it could also provide liquidity for the client, we should look at all ways that could bring capitol is easier and jumping through less hoops. It would be good to try to avoid the situation where any one person could be classified as a money issuer but that the Blockchain itself allows the process. It's like you want to be able to spread the use and make it easier for people to bring capitol but not have to deal with any legal issues so I think the key here is doing it where there is no accountability and minimal risk of loss. What about some kind of escrowed markets? There are some people around the community that are good with escrow.

If we could build some kind of escrowed gateways for fiat/crypto in general then that could also make way for some kind of profit sharing as the service could have a fee attached to it.

hi col team! glad to see some development!

/Reimbursement of Lost Coins
Reimbursement of all previously lost coins will happen throughout the swap and up to the cut-off date. The cut-off for the swap to the new coin will be finished after 3 months with a further 1 month to process any outstanding payments.

here is my old thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291124.0
I have lost about 8 billions COL on Sep. 06/07,2013. As I said September 17, 2013 i will donate 10% to the development fund if you help to recover my losses.

I did withdraw 7,829,172,720.4 from them (Sep. 06/07 from Btcltc.com) and all COL are still unconfirmed in my Wallet: No answers from btcltc.com and muddafudda cant help either. I asked for help for  9 days. @btcltc.com there is a max withdrawal limit of 5,000,000,000.00 COL

pls anybody can help me?

if i get my ~ 8 bil COL in my COL-wallet (I did withdraw 7,829,172,720.4 from Btcltc.com (Sep. 06/07)
, i will give a 10% (about ~ 800 mil) bounty for COL

Ahh perfect, I've been hearing a lot about your lost coins and there won't be a way for you to swap it directly as your Coins were reversed in a hardfork early on. We are doing a 20:1 swap and in the process of setting up a snapshot process redeemable through private keys.

Just post your CV2 address (or pm it to me) and I will send you the balance of 360 million (20:1 on 8 Billion - 10% for future funding).

Does the colossuscoin v 2.0 wallet need to be open at all times to stake coins?

You just need to open your client periodically once your Coins are past the minimum Stake age. It is better to have your Coins in larger Blocks so they Stake sooner.

^^^^^^^^^

Thanks for the reply, im pretty new to the cryptocurrency world but it is definitely fascinating, and the potential is through the roof.
Not to well versed in coding/compiling or any of the really deep technical stuff but I do IT work on the side and have been working with
computers since I was little.

One of the main issues that I am seeing (feel free to correct me as im just brainstorming.. and very easygoing) is the ease of use for the average
person. The bulk of people who live online are ankle deep in social media and the mobile market is the one to target.

I would think that very minimalist, high graphic apps to buy and sell the coins would be the ticket. I know with chargebacks and all
the frauds its a loophole to buy bitcoins/cryptos in general but it could be pretty simple if you basically trick the buyer..not illegally let me explain.

Not to go off on a rant but people want everything NOW! thats the world we live in..Cant do it with bitcoin because of frauds.
So a simple solution ive been brainstorming is a countdown..or a countUP however you want to say it.

Basically you buy the bitcoin with your credit card..factor in the average chargeback time (+7 days) whatever it is. And place a countdown
when you press BUY. It charges the person automatically and the counter begins counting up how much bitcoin you just bought. Remeber its just
a ruse to expire the average chargeback time.. So the average person is getting more excited as the dollars are "racking up" but really its to weed out the scammers..

Pair that with a simple phone app, after you have the coins to send your friends, (and maybe link it to bank) and your done.

people are simple, they want to have fun and want to have it now. Not hassles and loopholes. You charge them a ridiculous upcharge on the
transfer fees (they dont know or care about the difference in actual prices) cut some forself and kick back extra to the debit card people.

Then completely outflood the social media with the very sleek, very simple, extremly cool app..

Sorry if that was long it was just something that hit me.

Not sure if that really would work in practice as the legalities would end up kicking you in the end. I'm pretty sure that's what PayCoin had done with their credit card scheme and a lot of people were really angry over it, to me the negatives would really outweigh it when something similar could be done so maybe we can look into how we could rework the idea a bit more positively.
2288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon X13 POS Only - [Simulated POW through POS]- Get your CON on!! on: February 18, 2015, 04:03:10 PM
Whats the dealio gentleman.. How do I get into PayCon. What can I help with over here?

Hmm, well I do want to get further into the use of TOR and anon features for the network as a whole. We need a new DNS seeder since the last one was Blocked in the hardfork and trying to raise 0.5 BTC as a quote from pollforall along with the inclusion of a new mac wallet. I have an offer available for some of my stash (53k @ 670 for a total of 0.35 BTC) in order to help raise some of the funds and can provide the rest so that it can take a little time off my hands, I don't have much money I can throw at this but want to try to push it far as quickly as possible (if you don't you get left behind)

Some of my top priorities with the wallet at the moment are adjustable Stake thresholds and Stake for Charity, I've been going through the Hyperstake code in order to find useful/relevant stuff I can improve upon and in the process of reworking the code.

Could use some new forums as well or even general improvements in any area that you think needs improvement, don't be shy and don't worry if you think your skills or ideas aren't up to par, everything is relevant even if it was built with mspaint.

This is all still fairly new to me, I've been around for a while but more of my first major plunge into actually developing on a Coin. I've also been working on ColossusCoin2 as well and trying to get that back into shape as well so things are progressing. I like taking on a bit more rather than less and the two are nearly the same code so I as we get more into it I can keep them both in line and try to take Crypto on full time.

All help is definitely appreciated, if you want to grab some Coins, CON is a pretty low market cap (maybe 5k total) so you can pick some up for pretty cheap and get to know a bit more about POS only. I also have all kinds of guides available if you want to get a little into some coding/compiling and try to do my best in helping people solve issues.

The best advice I can give though is to not really think of it in terms of price (even though CON Stakes like a champ Wink ) and think of it as something fun and interesting. It's a notable goal for everyone to make money but in my mind it's just cool being at the frontier of new tech.
2289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon X13 POS Only - [Simulated POW through POS]- Get your CON on!! on: February 18, 2015, 01:35:25 PM
Ok, so I'm putting up a portion of my CON up for sale on C-Cex

53,000 PayCon @ 670 and the proceeds will go towards DNS seeder hosting for 6 months and a new Mac wallet for all you PayCon'ers. If you would like to buy it directly instead I can also do escrow.

Buy some CON and have some fun and learn about how POS Coins work. Remember that a Coin and everything about it can be changed (rewards, fees, targeting etc) if that is what the majority wants so keep in mind as we progress that nothing is static and all ideas are on the table. I want to help make sure everyone makes profit and ROI over time and keep the exchanges happy, you guys are the lifeblood and remember that it is YOUR Coin and you make the decisions Smiley

Awesome, and loved your final statement... Wink Anyways, I think that if we all can donate ~BTC0.05-BTC0.1, then I feel that this community must at least be containing more than 30-60 people who can do this much for CON... Wink
Let's get it to Trex...

For sure, I'd really like to get on Trex. I think the best way for that is not only bugging them about it but also developing the Coin itself, the features and profitability for holders. I really don't know how the whole Cryptosphere will progress over time and definitely don't want to see people just sinking money into something that may or may not work out which was why I really liked CON in the first place, keep it fun and interesting and try to do it all for free (or atleast try to spend as little as possible).

Staking has also been great but maybe we could improve the rewards in the future, we had a very smooth hardfork in the first place and I am also quite interested in how Clams used a snaphot in order to pay balances from another Blockchain. Take 10K for example, they have some extreme rewards and inflation but it's also very rewarding for Stakers and making ROI so lets say for example we changed CON to have some very high rewards but had the mode in place in the future in order to just start with a whole new Blockchain once again with all the same balances but at a 1000:1 rate to reduce the float, you'd kill 2 birds with one stone in which you could continue to pay the large rewards and trim off all that extra bloat.

I'm not saying that Bloat or the rewards are a problem now (considering at 30 CON a Block the inflation is approximately 500% or more the first year) but should always think about planning for the future, food for thought.

If we were to pay for it, it would cost 3 BTC but it should be free as the whole foundation of PayCon is based on trying to do everything without paying for it Smiley

If we can get on Bittrex, my friend Hamuki runs a multipool and we can do that for $10 a month and would immediately have a buy pressure effect as more people mine POW Coins for PayCon.

3 BTC to get CON listed at Bittrex you mean?

10$ a month is not that much, we could do that with donations for foundation of PayCon.

Would donate a part of it without a problem Smiley

But like you said, PayCon is trying to do everything without paying - maybe it´s against our policy

Like i said above , i´m willing to donate and i think many would do also. When people can sink thousands of US$ for GAW hashlet website PNG pictures, some can donate 10$ for PayCon.

PayCon is starting to get one if not the favorite coin of myself , my not support then?

I love Bottlecaps(CAP) and Hyperstake (HYP) staking also:

CAP:

HYP:

Funny you should say that because HyperStake is also one of my favorite Coins and working on adapting some features from it. Yeah I could easily do $10 a month myself but need to get on Bittrex first.

The some 60 posts he deleted in the PayCon thread was no so cool because we lost a lot of stuff that although was a lot of Spam and nonsense, could have been refined into real stuff later on.

CON Staking very well!

We should push to get listed on Bittrex, I don't have the extra BTC in order to pay to get it listed and would rather not try to collect donations in order to get it done. ColossusCoin2 CV2 has been added in alcurEX.
https://alcurex.org/index.php/crypto/market?pair=CV2_MRC2
Happy trading!

I like the idea of the MicroCoin markets but the downside is that it's really not tradeable against anything else since there are no buy orders for MicroCoin, only sell orders at 1 Satoshi Sad
Most of microCoin trades are in LTC market.
https://alcurex.org/index.php/crypto/market?pair=MRC2_LTC

I noticed that afterwards, I think it's a good idea to have your own exchange rather than having to rely on other exchanges.

spam this on the tweeterz[twitter], and the book of faces [facebook], and all those other social media platforms

Fantastic, I really like it

Does it only work as an API in which you need Coins on the exchange?

This is a huge step forward but in the end it needs to be where it can all work on the Blockchain itself without any third parties. I think the proper way would be to do without the exchanges altogether and do cross-chain transactions using redeemable scripts. Centralized exchanges are a problem, worrying about thefts and delisting of your Coins are a problem, how many times have Coins just been delisted from exchanges and people just lose their Coins forever because they were unable to withdraw them in time?

Maybe something along the lines where a Coins sole purpose is just to act as escrow, where it can handle all the redeem scripts needed and not bloat up the Coin in which you want to exchange for another Coin and not even act a money in any way whatsoever, no fees on transfers.

I guess the question is, what temperature are "cold" wallets really? Freezing cold, or just lukewarm?

I guess a wallet containing 1.7 Million US$ worth of bitcoins = ice cold (not connected to the internet/server)?

If you guys are serious : A cold wallet is one that was created on a computer without an internet connection. Coins deposited there remain in limbo until the wallet's public keys are broadcast/ the wallet goes online.

If you guys are trolling : Take two addnodes, then call me in the morning. Grin

I think it's mostly trolling but not everyone understands the definition of a cold wallet.

As you, the alleged dev/coder, do not know what an addnode is. lol

An addnode is where you tell your buddy "node" to add you on facebook hence the name addnode, do you know what an addnode is?

Don't forget to add this new PoF, Proof of Facebook, feature to the op. Tongue

Ahh, yes thanks for reminding me, we just finished the new PayCon FaceBook and you can now like us (or post FUD if that's more your style  Cool )

2298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Colossuscoin- 1.5.2 BIG, STRONG, and FRIENDLY on: February 17, 2015, 07:53:17 AM

It seems almost impossible to download whole blockchain no matter from where I start syncing (from the beginning, or from some of the downloaded blockchains).

I think Colossuscoin is by source code the closest related to the Bottlecaps coin and it should be updated on the same way as Bottlecaps is.

Otherwise, for many people including me it will not be possible to send coins and participate in Colossuscoin version 2.

Any solutions for this problem?

The best solution I could think of was to handle the swap of the Coins off the exchange was to do it manually where the keys/wallets are sent in to the COL team along with your CV2 address and the amount of COL is verified against the highest ledger and destroyed once the amount of CV2 has been sent. This may be the easiest solution since COL cannot be sent to an exchange for sale anyways and maybe 1000-2000 people (max) with wallets off the exchange probably would not be that difficult.

First and foremost are wallets off the exchanges since there isn't even the option to sell your Coins if you wanted to so that part needs to be handled before we start swapping Coins with Cryptsy. If we did a direct swap with Cryptsy first, then off-exchange holders would lose out on the Staking to people that just leave their Coins on the exchange or are buying for a quick sale.

I want to do it in the least time consuming and most cost effective way where it doesn't involve selling a large chunk of Coins for an automated swap and trying to fix COL 1.52 (and possibly introducing new bugs) when that time can be spent building on new features and refining CV2 and the Coins would be able to provide a solid fund for services.

I have contact with the guy that did the automated ADT swap but he would want 3k USD to do it since that was what Zack had paid for it.

Several Coins such as CamorraCoin and SmartCoin have done manual swaps so it wouldn't be an impossible task and the CamorraCoin Developers have been very willing to help us with it all, even for nothing other than the recognition that they are serious about working in the Crypto community and working alongside other communities.

If you can also help identify the specific issues causing the problem, I can help introduce the fix but I am not sure if it is one or multiple problems causing the issues. I have provided the best code possible for ColossusCoin2 with a lot of testing but I am still learning and progressing myself so I want people to understand that I don't know everything and for the most part, neither does anyone else.

Let me know your thoughts, I am open to all suggestions.

Very smart,i have created new adress, sent coins in 1000 per block, now i am receiving payouts much often then before, with any new payout wallet is creating  new adress, preety genious

You mean 1000 coins per block per wallet can stake much better than any lesser amount? If yes, then in how much time do you get your rewards?
I have 500 coins each in 12 different wallets, but still they ain't staking well... Seems to me that the weight and difficulty is making it hard, still, can you please clarify? Smiley

You don't need to split them all into different addresses, here is an example of a combine at the 5 day mark into a Block of 500 Coins http://blockexperts.com/con/height/67714

In this transaction, all these Blocks of Coins are in the same address and combined into one Block when they Staked. If they were in different addresses or wallets then they wouldn't combine into larger Blocks.

Difficulty is measured in the amount of Stake Weight on the network at any given time, as more Blocks compete for Stake it takes larger Blocks to continue to Stake at the minimum Stake age of 2 days. If you had very small amounts in different addresses they may likely reach the maximum Stake age (14 days) and never Stake unless they were combined into a larger Block and the Stake age reset.

Hope this helps a bit
