There is no better algorithm for mining on this video card right now. If your electricity costs 5 cents, then an average profit of 5-10 cents a day makes mining on this video card meaningless. And you still need to buy additional equipment for the mining farm: a motherboard, a processor and other equipment.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is moving to take action against Ethereum that reaches far beyond America’s borders. Second, the SEC’s allegation that transactions occurring on the Ethereum blockchain are subject to U.S. jurisdiction because more of Ethereum’s nodes are located in the U.S. than any other country would expand the SEC’s reach far beyond the United States. Based on that reasoning, the SEC could assert jurisdiction over an Ethereum-based token developed in Germany, offered and sold in Germany exclusively to Germans, because the cluster of Ethereum nodes in the U.S. means that the transactions effectively occurred in the United States. Such an outcome would seem highly unlikely to pass legal muster. https://cointelegraph.com/news/federal-regulators-are-preparing-to-pass-judgment-on-ethereum

Ergo miners approve EIP 37 Ergo's miners have approved adjusting its difficulty adjustment algorithm (EIP 37). Consequently, the chain has hard-forked at a block height of 844,673. https://satoshiscountry.com/ergo-miners-approve-eip-37/Other than EIP-37, the Ergo community is exploring ways to make ERG mining more friendly. One of those ideas is developing a way to incentivize miners' loyalty to the chain. Miners commit their hashpower to Ergo for n consecutive epochs would receive bonus rewards.

Just wait a bit. 40 series out soon. Hehe. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) You won't see a cheap 4000 series this year. At least the year is 75% over. Now there is no point in buying expensive video cards, unless you are a professional gamer. For most games, a 5600 ХТ video card is enough for me, which can now be bought for $ 200 or a little cheaper, and the video card will be in excellent condition.

Only working bios for this card is Sapphire.RX580.8192.170324.rom other failed to either failed to flash or give black screen. I've tried all the bios from techpowerup.com for Sapphire RX 580 8GB Pulse.
For Windows, there is a simple solution for video cards with the original bios. I've used this before, and the drivers didn't give out errors. atikmdag-patcher Atikmdag patcher cancels driver signature verification for graphics cards on AMD/ATI chipsets to ensure high resolutions and frequencies https://blockchain-media.org/atikmdag-patcher/I have not checked this link, search the Internet for the latest version of this program. Or take photos of your video cards with batch numbers and ask other miners for the original bios.

Team Red Miner v0.10.4 Introducing single algo KASPA gpu mining. At the time of writing, the expected performance increase is 4-8% above existing AMD miners, at about the same power. It will depend on gpu type and tuning. A follow-up release will add dual mining R-mode ethash+kas. README highlights: GPU: Added KASPA single algo mining (fee 1.0%, use -a kas). GPU: Added simpler way of forcing hashrate reports for kawpow/firopow (use --prog_hash_report). GPU: Fixed missing hashrate reports in some cases for kawpow/firopow with multiple pools. https://github.com/todxx/teamredminer/releases/tag/v0.10.4Be sure to check the links in the first post, this is introductory information

Hello, I bought Sapphire RX 580 Pulse and it worked fine before, after changing the bios it started behaving abnormally. I reverted the bios from the backup I took and it still not working or mining. RX580 seems to be okay and it's in pretty new condition. I am encountering some errors during installation and after, which might help understanding the situation better. Screenshots: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7a0x25cyrhgdphg/AAAO1uU3nyfG-X2KlMTU6TI2a?dl=0Please let me know if it can be fixed or it's dead ?? Thank you for your anticipation! Best Regards, Aqib I see that you have problems with the bios, so the software from the manufacturer gives an error. You need the original BIOS of the video card. Perhaps you bought a video card already with a bios flashed for mining or did not update the bios of the video card. Hive OS will not have such problems. Have anyone provide GPU 1660 super set parameters?
The hashrate in the mining of the RADIANT coin depends on the frequency of the core of the video card, overclocking the memory does not greatly affect the hashrate. You need to choose the optimal core frequency, power consumption and hashrate mode with a wattmeter. The higher the core frequency, the greater the overheating. You can use the settings for the RVN coin.

I got a card from a cousin of mine, a GTX 980 and it plays games on my desktop very well bit I can't get it to work with Nicehash, I got error here and there, as per my old post on here I want to use this card as experiment to dive into how crypto mining works and now I don't know, is there any mining app that can work with GTX 980? Thank you
Try mining ethereum classic https://miningpoolstats.stream/ethereumclassicInstall the latest video card drivers and try all the miners that the pools offer you. miner download links https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405131Try to find a working miner. Although what do you want to get? 6 cents in Ethereum Classic coins every day with a payment for electricity several times more.

What can a newbie use to practice crypto mining? What software and how can I go about it?
Don't know if you heard. But right now there is no profits to be made with GPU mining. ETH had high profitability for years and 2 weeks ago it went POS which means you can't mine it anymore. You can mine many coins right now, however you will not make a profit when you factor in your electrical cost. There is also ASIC mining which might be profitable with low power but the equipment is not cheap. And that type of mining is not done on a computer but its stand-alone equipment. Based on my research I read it's not going to be like this for long, I read that mining is more profitable in a bull market and it's better to build a rig when a bull market is about to start, funny thing is how will one know when bull market is about to start? Study this article carefully. The problem is not the absence of a bull market. A huge share of mining was occupied by the TOP 2 project - Ethereum. https://bitproit.com/gpu-mining-profitability-after-ethereum-merge/There are no new coins yet, and EthereumPoW, Ethereum classic and other forks cannot give a good profit to miners, and in most cases only losses. Electricity is getting more expensive in all countries, but there are still a lot of miners.

I'm looking for people who are looking to get rid of RTX3080 & 3090 cards now that mining is dead. Please only PM if you have at least 8 units of the same model.
You said now that mining is dead but you want 8 units of same model, what for if not for mining? 👀👀 hehe smart dude. Such ads are usually created by people who want to buy video cards very cheaply, well below the market price. There are a lot of offers on the market, because the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 video cards are the most unprofitable. Look at the statistics. https://whattomine.com/gpus

The Radeon has always been somewhat cheaper compared to Nvidia and I think this will be the case again with 7000 series, the real question is how much cheaper will it be?If it can be less than 1000 EUR and offer a great performance both in gaming, rendering and mining then I am convinced this card price will attract every mentioned category here, gamers, architects and miners. The smart miners are the ones who continue mining ETHW right now which Binance created a pool for mining it. The price of RTX 4090 is not at all appealing so most likely it will be a war won by the 7000 series of AMD. So I am a stupid miner ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) , because with my tariff of 5 cents per kilowatt, mining the ETHW coin is unprofitable. It’s more profitable for me to buy ETHW for a few hundred dollars that I pay for electricity and spend on maintenance, and wait for the price to rise.

The release of desktop solutions was delayed due to the decision to launch mobile versions of the product first. Now mining is unprofitable and the main thing for a video card is to show good performance in games and have a cheap cost. Nvidia will lag behind competitors because competitors have released new efficient GPUs, but the main thing is that now there are at least 3 large manufacturers on the market.

With profitability being so low and prices near the bottom, I think for those who purchased their GPUs with crypto, the best move is probably to sell them now for crypto and hope that you received more back than you spent. For those who purchased on credit cards hoping to get rich, it's gonna be a bad time for a while. If you are forced to mine now at a loss in an attempt to recover something, you'd better be prepared to hold for a while. Mining just to sell at a loss is a bad idea... Make sure you have a plan whatever you do.
Mining at a loss in 2018 for me proved the right thing to do,sure I could have bought the amount of crypto I got but that would have removed the fun of managing rigs and of course a bought coin is much more easy to fall prey to sell it rather than keeping it,so in this context it is always better to mine at a loss rather than buying crypto even in bear market like this one. People who are in the above situations if they have relatively cheap electricity price should mine at a loss and even put money from their own pocket to keep the operations going because after some time when the next bull run will hit us these very same persons will be in a huge advantage. I wish everyone that, and for me the 0.50 Bitcoin made in 2018 I sold at February 2021 near 60.000K a coin which brought me huge profits,I know the same situation will repeat and that is why I am turning the rigs online again now that the government retired from 5x energy price increase after massive online protests which would normally go even in the main square of the city if the government didn't stop. Why engage in mining at a loss? If you can use the money to pay for electricity to buy more coins. Repair of the cooling system of modern video cards is also expensive. I bought video card fans in china for $10, they broke after 4 months.
