National interests win hands down, corporate interests are profits, the most profitable activities can also be the most immoral. If corporate interests were greater than national interests, there would be no way to prevent corporations from illicit actions. Why must a corporation offer any incentive for a customer to buy when they can simply steal that money without the trouble of producing a product at all?
This isn't entirely true. In a country where the vote of the people is what drives the law the people can vote to limit the activities of the corporations, should their activities be seen as illicit actions (or at least more than the people are willing to tolerate.)

A thread like this is relevant in every decade of the last ten, but I still don't think it says much...

What do you believe BTC's fair value to be in USD?
Why do you say that the miner's work is for nothing? Their activity produces brand spanking new bitcoins for them the spend or hodl.
Looking forward to your background thoughts. I also have a banking/investment background.

So what's the takeaway from this?
Are you implying that this would explain the recent drop in BTC to USD conversion? Are you just harping on about how follies of government currency controls?

Greed will never go away, it's "human nature" as they say.
A benefit of Bitcoin is that it is a finite resource, which may enable it to have more stable value once all coins are mined...at least the value can't disappear or diminish over night because a government decides to "print more" like happens so often in countries. I don't think current alternative currencies could serve a purpose, unless technology proves the Bitcoin system to become obsolete.
This is a great topic to discuss, I look forward to hearing smarter opinions and thoughts than mine.
I'd also like to see links to specific articles.

You want to invest the equivalent of $1.50? Why?
Why don't you give it to me? See my BTC address in my profile...I'll take good care of it.

What's the relevance of this paper to Bitcoin (other than the date it was printed)?
What's the Genesis Block comment referencing?

More token coins like this are going to cause a run on the original Casascius coins...you're going to see people selling their stash and the perceived numismatic value will fall.

I will be happier in the long term if bitcoin just finds a value and stays there. In the short term I want to get rich from bitcoin, in the long term I want an alternative to centralized slave money.
It found a value...the problem is that the value is less today than it was yesterday. What if Bitcoin found a value of $10 per BTC, would that still make you "happier in the long term"?

How does one invest in Primedice? You can actually put money toward their operations and get a piece of the earnings? Or are people using the word "invest" in place of the word "gamble"?

Be careful, a recent "investment company" was advertising on this forum. They offered sick returns (like percent per day) for balances held with their firm. They were around for about 3 weeks and then disappeared, taking all account balances with them.

I've never heard of double spending, how often does this actually happen?

I think the bigger question is when will merchants accept BTC as BTC without converting it immediately via the likes of bitpay. That is what we need to be aiming for.
They have to decided to accept BTC first, otherwise your question will never be relevant. However, I agree that your point is critical for merchant acceptance of BTC to affect the movement positively.

Happy Bitday!
Happy Bitday! I wish I bought some 'coin back when I first found out about Bitcoin - it was trading at about $100 per BTC, but I'm glad I'm in on it now.

This doesn't prove that money is coming in, only that money is moving from one wallet to another.
I like your hopes though, let's all hope that more money comes to BTC.

This is a great idea and if you have the ability to make it happen you should definitely spend the time. There are only a few Bitcoin banks you'd have to compete with currently - Coinbase is the only one that comes to mind but I know there are others.
