This is an interesting topic, you should set a new thread up with a poll so we can more easily see where everyone is. Set the highest amount choice for >2 BTC, to separate out the non-newbies that will inevitably respond even though they aren't new.

Hey, can you provide some context in what the video is about and what your take is on it? It's tough to chose a random link, opening up risk to viruses and such, without some co text about what you're sharing and what info you want from us.

The coin has been "tampered" from its original state, like trying to polish patina off an old fiat coin. I'd only offer face value, but that's just me!

Unfortunately there is no insurance company to insure balance for a bitcoin "bank".

This sounds appropriate. Sometimes the best way to tell a complex political story is through the lens of the camera. Look what it did for Snowden's case.
I hope the story stays very factual, especially if it's meant to be a bit of a response to Russia's aggression.

http://www.coindesk.com/kraken-opens-bitcoin-exchange-in-canada/Kraken has officially launched in Canada following a partnership with digital currency industry-focused risk management specialist Vogogo. The San Francisco-based bitcoin exchange now allows users in Canada to convert Canadian dollars into digital currencies using Interac e-Transfer and electronic fund transfers (EFT). Trading fees are then priced between 0.10% and 0.35%, with more active traders receiving more attractive rates. In statements, Kraken CEO Jesse Powell indicated that the company saw significant potential in the Canadian market. The exchange has been one of the most active US firms in the global market, opening to Japan and adding GBP trading in October. Kraken is also one of the more prominent businesses to pull out of the US market over legal concerns. ...A San Francisco company making bitcoin a larger part of another country's investment options, love it!

I wouldn't think of New York as the US leaders in Bitcoin innovation, for this you HAVE TO look to Silicon Valley. Afterall, the center of technology innovation in the US is happening in Silicon Valley and SF Bay Area. New York has its contributions but it doesn't lead the show.
And is it accurate to characterize the innovation simply in how big banks are finally deciding to get onboard?
It's good that there isn't ONE center of progress, it keeps development decentralized.

If this poster is in London it appears to be pretty sarcastic. Am I missing something in interpreting this a as a knock/insult to Gavin?
Are we sure this isn't photoshopped?

I'm a big fan of Smith sunglasses. I have a great pair but just realized their's a scratch on the inside lens. Anyone have any Smith sunglasses for sale? - Polarized lenses only - don't bother offering anything else
- Open to all frame and lens configurations (provided the lenses are polarized)
PM or post...Thanks

This does sound ridiculous, but what are the violence per capita numbers in the UK, are they super low? And I guess what's more important is that the people in the UK are voting for this lifestyle (or voting for the officials that say they'll be putting this sort of legislation in place.) The people get what the people want! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rateThe intentional homicide rate for the UK is super low, 1 per 100,000 inhabitants. The US is 4.7 per 100,000 inhabitants. What's the motivation for the UK to continue to ban knives? Is there some recent up tick in knife related crime? What's next, fists? Bring us your fists so you can't fight anyone!

Gov't can certainly help business, but there's a fine line the Gov't needs to run to enable the business to perform in a fair environment without being stifled.
I think Gov't does best allowing some laws to ensure a fair environment for business competition, allowing fair working environments for employees, and ensuring some minimum level of fair benefits. Other than that, business needs to be able to run and evolve on its own. Businesses will fail, gov't shouldn't intervene. Businesses will succeed, gov't shouldn't intervene.

Are we assuming that this community earns exclusively in bitcoin as well? Because if people are earning in fiat than the deflation of BTC or inflation of fiat (to BTC) would result in fewer and fewer BTC being acquired for the same amount of fiat, which would minimize some of the supply constraints you're hypothesizing. It's a good question, I hope all of us are the right side of it!

Use your brain man, if that's possible. When you watch the video do you notice how it doesn't flow seamlessly, but is more of a series of still pictures? That's usually how security cameras work, they take 1 pic every 3, 5, 10 seconds. It's clear that there are seconds missing between each picture in the video, so it's completely plausible (and realistic and believable) that the plane impacted the building during one of those seconds not captured and all we see is the resulting explosion. If you want to find a conspiracy there's always a way to believe one happened, what you won't have are the facts to back it up.

Some other group.
What are they called? Fuck, I always forget...ummm....oh shit, yeah it's AL QAEDA.
Why do people insist on believing all the other fairytales?

Yeah, i think an organization like ISIS can only be born out of extreme paranoia. Think about what they preach and how they think the rest of the world are infidels. It's ridiculous. It's not possible that the 7 billion people in the world are the "sinners/infidels", let alone the fact that their beliefs preach hate, abuse and murder. They are paranoid and they should be...there's only two options for them - they can disappear or they can be stopped. Those are the only two options, that kind of hate doesn't survive in this world, it never has.

Greece has to do a better job collecting on taxes. Greek citizens have to be committed to wanting to pay taxes, to contributing to shared expenses to run that country.
But maybe the real question is, why does Greece need to be in the Eurozone? Do they need it that badly?

Why does a country have to lose? IF a country loses, it's people lose too. That doesn't allow those people to have much prosperity or wealth to then divert to Bitcoin as an alternative, right?
If Bitcoin becomes the currency of the world it'll be corrupted and manipulated as much as all other currencies are corrupted or manipulated combined!

Yeah, the signature is the hot item...there's probably VERY few Caldwell signatures out there except for the bank's collection of his signed checks! Good luck with your sale, Blazed.
