http://finance.yahoo.com/news/8-most-donald-trump-things-222600785.html

Here's an article about Donald Trump being a douche, errr the Donald.

This guy is such a character, if he weren't so fake and obvious he'd actually be funny.

Great, great news! IF we want to make bids but can't be at the gallery in Warsaw, can we make bids online? Will their be an auction at all?

Thanks.
1463  Economy / Economics / Re: Nearly 70% of Bitcoin users earn less than $100,000 annually - Coindesk on: June 15, 2015, 11:16:39 PM
Seems pretty obvious. 100K a year is a lot of money and most bitcoiners are young men and most of them as proven here earn less then 100K a year,
No surprise though.

Yeah man, making general assumptions usually lead us to the wrong answers and (incorrectly) reinforce our belief in ourselves to be able to make "educated" guesses without any support or fact. It's a dangerous place to spend a lot of time in.

Perhaps what's more scary is that people with money to live, without tons of disposable income are willing to put some of it into something so risk and unproven as this project.
1464  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Fast Track (TTIP) Isn’t Free Trade on: June 15, 2015, 06:08:15 PM

As for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, someone mentioned it's a "win for corporatism"...not sure what coporatism is, but yes free trade is a win for business, all business. Whether you like it or not, the act of business is one of the oldest ways to earn a living in the world, it's also the way that poor areas or poor people generate wealth (probably not in all cases, but it most).

Seek the facts, friends, the truth will set you free!

TTIP is surely good for business, at the expense of our health and the remnants of our freedom and sovereignty. Basically declaring corporate dictatorship :/. Thanks, no.

How is it at the expense of our health and the remnants of our freedom?

In the US the People have the power, although I know a cynical few will call me out for that. The problem is that many people in the US ignore their power, they don't vote, they don't care, then they bitch about the reality of government. If you feel your freedom is being infringed, speak up about it to the lawmakers.

The other thing I find interest is people think corporations are dictatorships. What computer do you use to access this forum? Did the corporation that created the computer require you to use? Did you not have a choice? Life can be lived without supporting corporations, the problem is when people cry about corporate endeavors while at the same time using their products.

Let's talk about it, what's been your experience with "corporate dictatorship"?
1465  Economy / Economics / Re: DO NOT pay off your student loans!! Sub-prime student loan bail-out is here! on: June 15, 2015, 06:00:28 PM
This is just the tip of the iceberg..

Quote
WASHINGTON (AP) — The federal government will erase much of the debt of students who attended the now-defunct Corinthian Colleges, officials announced Monday, as part of a new plan that could cost taxpayers as much as $3.6 billion.

This only applies to people who took out student loans to attend Corinthian Colleges -

Yea, that's exactly why it's just the tip of the iceberg. There are several other for-profit college scams out there just waiting to blow up. The fact that just Corinthian resulted in $3.6 billion in cancelled loans suggests the true scale of this catastrophe.

But it's not just the fly-by-night scam colleges involved in the student dept crisis, as the staggering figure of 7 million Americans in default on student loans suggests. As other posts have pointed out, tuition costs have skyrocketed in recent years, both causing and caused by unbridled predatory lending from crooked banks backed by a corrupt government. The high-paying jobs promised to students who took out these loans have not materialized due to off-shoring of "middle-class" jobs and the bank-instigated recession. So there are droves of unemployed college grads fighting over jobs wiping tables at cafes for minimum wage plus tips.

The student loan business in the US has turned into a major racket, and I can cite the sources that prove it if anyone wishes to contest my claim.

What other scams are out there? Don't call foul unless you have facts or even details of a hunch to support it.

I wouldn't say that student loans have become a racket, I have student loans, I earned the education they paid for and I've benefited directly from that education.

Here's how I see it, first, the availability of student loans increases the demand on education (because more people can afford to go), when demand goes up and supply stays the same it's reasonable to assume that prices (i.e., tuition) go up, which then leads to higher loan needs for future generations of students.

Students need to realize why they're going to school and weigh if taking out the loan is a good decision based on the degree they'll earn or pay they'll be able to command with that degree in hand. This thought process doesn't always happen, which leads to students with a lot of debt and a lack of commitment to education for career or a career that doesn't pay enough to pay off the debt.

Should this be the fault of the student/borrower or the fault of the University or the fault of the student loan company? Everyone will have a different opinion on this, but it's not really a racket as you claim.
1466  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: June 15, 2015, 06:14:56 AM
Example:

I had a rather large utility bill for water, but instead of cutting down on using water, i built a well with hydropack, and now water is virtually free for me (dust money for electricity - when hydropack is running)
Simple example, investment ROI was about 2 years. Money saved now withouth loosing any comfort, hell water even tastes 10x better (also had it analysed in a lab - everything was excellent)

The point i'm trying to make is that saving money doesn't mean that you always need to make sacrifices, there are a lot of other things you can do to save on the same principle.

cheers

Let me get this straight. You buy water, a lot of it because you mention you'd have a large utility bill for water, then you put that water in a well. Then you say that using that water in the well is "virtually free". Did you pay for it from that large utility bill for water? Or are you creating new water with it (which sounds crazy).

A great way to save money on electricity is to have solar panels on your house. If you don't use all the electricity the electricity companies will buy your excess power you generate back from you!

We all knew it wouldn't take long for the next Silk Road comes along. I can't imagine this "dark market" site isn't going to be the same thing. Hopefully the owners don't flaunt their existence like one (or few) Dread Pirate Roberts!

What are people buying on the bazaar?

What a disgusting display of selfishness, greed, and inhumane ideals.

Too bad the earthquake couldn't punish only these 200 men. What efforts are in place to protest an event like this? Killing 250,000 cows for the greed of 200 men is awful and should be an easy thing to disrupt via protest.

Let me know what's going on!
1472  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin users: Will bitcoin ever be used and fully adapted as a currency? on: June 15, 2015, 05:05:12 AM
Pay me and I'll complete your survey.

How do you define "fully adopted" - you mean adopted, rather than adapted, right?

Is this measured by number of transactions, geographic spread of transactions, volume of BTC transacted, some declaration of another sort?

Also, will you be so kind to post the findings of your research here? We'd all benefit from reading it. And I don't think many people who come to us for polls bother to share their work with us, which leave us spending our valuable time for you but getting nothing in return.
1473  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: June 15, 2015, 05:00:38 AM
Not sure lack of jobs is only because of immigration. Extra people need extra services to live too. And that creates more jobs. Problem may be the time it takes for people to integrate into society. And some may not want to. But you're right. Politicians won't suffer from it. Not unless the public wakes up and throws them out of office. Though it's more likely that anti immigration policies and parties get more power instead and nothing really changes.

The migrants take away a lot of blue collar jobs from the native inhabitants. Look at the United States, most of the (native) masons and bricklayers are now unemployed, as the cheaper Mexican immigrants have taken over their jobs. And your argument that "extra people need extra services to live too" is not applicable for these immigrants. They require few services, as they live up to 8-10 people in a single room. 90% of the money they earn in the EU, will be sent back to their home countries as remittances.

This is a common point, but it lacks a lot of fact. A lot of the jobs that migrant workers do are not traditional trades like masons (you know masons and bricklayers are the same, right?) Most migrant workers in the US work in the fields, work as nanny's, dishwashers, etc. They're jobs that aren't really trades (like a mason as you mention) and they pay so low that few citizens work them anyway. You could argue that the reason the jobs pay so low is because migrant workers are willing to do them for less money but there's no evidence that if migrant workers left that wages would automatically rise.

I think you're making a broad generalization here. And what's equally important is what does this have to do with the OP's question about Islam?

Here's a silver Casascius (among others), it appears this one is still on the block to be sold: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1089616.0

Let me know, if you don't mind, what you pay for your silver. It's good for the community to know what these coins are selling for.

The silver coin is about 80% more scarce, therefore rare, than the 2011 S1 error coin. It should command a much higher price.

I'll pay BTC0.75 for the 0.5 BTC Casascius coin. PM me...

1476  Economy / Economics / Re: DO NOT pay off your student loans!! Sub-prime student loan bail-out is here! on: June 15, 2015, 04:41:28 AM
Why should you refuse to pay your student loan bills?

If you agreed to take out a loan, you received the expected good that the loan was issued for, you should honor the deal - your obligation to pay the loan!

This story is about fraud. 99% of student loan holders did not become so through fraud...if you don't pay your student loans then you are just as bad as those that fraud others.

The real estate bubble burst, in part, because people bought homes they couldn't afford and when rates went up they couldn't afford to pay their loan. Instead of paying up they walked away from them. Those people, I hope, are kept from getting a home loan for a very, very long time.
1477  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Fast Track (TTIP) Isn’t Free Trade on: June 15, 2015, 04:36:24 AM
Fast Track isn't an issue about TTIP, it's bill that proposes rules to fast track trade deals. At it's core, the opponents say it's about the lack of Congress' and the People's visibility to read a bill and understand it before having to vote on it. And, while agree that a fast track circumvents some the existing functionality of the floor debates it also circumvents some of the bullshit that happens in US politics too. Congress WILL have an opportunity to read the bill before the final vote - which gives them the opportunity to veto it.

Additionally, most US trade deals since the 1970s have been submitted to Congress via this fast track process. So this isn't some new grand plan by Obama. It does make it difficult for Congress to revise trade deals for the next 6 years, which means that the deals can't sit in Congress (or one side of it) being endlessly changed, tweaked and added to with "pork barrel" spending. Congress will be forced to vote "No" on bills rather than being bought off by special interest add-ons. Seems like a very smart play, and it's a temporary move anyway.

Here's a link to some proof of my claim: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/may/14/elizabeth-warren/fact-checking-elizabeth-warren-and-barack-obama-tr/

1478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: June 13, 2015, 05:42:35 PM
Without a defining killer app, I am confident that Bitcoin will, in fits and starts, inevitably return to its 2009 levels. It would be pointless to guess how long that process will take; or when that killer app will appear although I am also confident it will appear at some entirely unpredictable point.

I don't follow your question. Bitcoin is a currency or an asset class. Does the Yen or the Euro need a "killer app" to be successful or useful? No. QT scan codes already exist, which enable the payment to be recognized.

What's missing that only a "killer app" could provide, and why does that thing that's missing (if something is) drive solely the future success or failure of bitcoin?

Are you saying that business owners don't have an easier way to facilitate payments? Are you saying that mobile applications drive user adoption of a new idea or technology?

Education and comfort level is a big part of this. Computers weren't deemed to be important or a necessity when they first came out. The internet wasn't considered a necessity when it first became available. Education and time changed the popular opinion. The same can happen with Bitcoin...I don't think a killer app is the single solution.
1479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mastercard attacking Bitcoin on: June 13, 2015, 04:42:04 PM
Mastercard doesn't realize that bitcoin transactions already go through "regulated and transparent administrators," the blockchain!

Bitcoin is definitely a threat to Mastercard, but only if they decide to not allow transactions with the currency that is bitcoin. Part of the challenge is that they can't run their business as safely or within the rules of government if they start dealing in bitcoin in large volumes. Mastercard has never been an innovative company, their Ad Agency is very innovative, but not their actual services. And from a a business perspective, if Mastercard isn't willing to innovate it is cheaper for them to try to discredit bitcoin in the media (with hopes that it doesn't take off) rather than evolved to meet the demand.

How do you order the list of faucets? Is that by highest payout or your favorite/ranking or are the faucets paying you to have their place on the top of the list?

The webpage formatting is a bit old school, likes like the early 2000s. Is it possible to have a filter based on faucet criteria so people can sort for what they're looking through within your massive list?
