2361  Economy / Economics / Re: Open AI CEO says his tech is poised to "break capitalism" on: February 10, 2023, 10:29:37 PM

AGI (artificial general intelligence) maximalists claim their technology carries a potential to eliminate many skilled labor jobs in tech industries.
-cut-
For sure, every distruptive technology destroys jobs, that's why it's disruptive. Even blockchain is supposed to remove middle man jobs. But i didn't see in the article how that would destroy capitalism. I am all for some new system but removing work force only creates unemployment. And sometimes new jobs appear. Like we have ton of youtube influencers now. Years ago no one would have thought it would be a paying job. And funny thing about machines taking away productive jobs. Not every job needs to be productive, at least not in a similar way it used to be.

But i am glad that Elon left the openai. That made me happy. He would be a horrible boss

In terms of roadmap I don't have one but I don't mind sharing detailed statistics, screenshots, and what not to whom ever turns out to be serious. So far I've only received skepticism, advise that I should to go a bank, and other replies. But with whom ever shows interest I am fully open to showing a more "detailed" overview of the business.
You most likely keep receiving skepticism when you haven't even gave us the url or name of of the casino. You do understand that the burden of proof is on you? Right?

Here's an idea, why don't you fund it via ICO? People would buy tokens from you that you could buy slowly from the markets daily in market price with a like a 2% of your profits or something.
But in there you really would need to reveal something about your casino.

I have a question:

SEC just fined Kraken for $30 Million for offering "staking" services to users. And since exchange staking isn't really staking but just technically paying interest;
Do you think this will affect on services like freebitco.in that's also offering to pay interest for users holding their bitcoins in there? Or how would this be any different?
2364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rumors that US SEC would like to ban crypto staking on: February 09, 2023, 10:24:00 PM
https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2023-25

Kraken to Discontinue Unregistered Offer and Sale of Crypto Asset Staking-As-A-Service Program and Pay $30 Million to Settle SEC Charges.
Just saw that. So this isn't ban on staking really, it's ban on centralized third party services like exchanges used for staking?

While this will bring prices down, this could actually be good for decentralization. People would need to run their own nodes if staking as a service is not an option anymore.

Will this affect on staking services like Lido DAO as it isn't maintaining eth infrastructure either or are they too decentralised for control?
2365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fake paid promotions on Twitter on: February 09, 2023, 10:07:15 PM
It is common knowledge at this point, people who think that they unearth some amazing new information are people who have been here for not so long or people who have been here long enough but want to warn newbies.

Because if you are not a newbie, you know the fact that people get paid for these things, hell Kim Kardashian was just punished for exactly this recently and it is definitely a bad situation because it means there are so many people who gets paid for these things. In any case, I believe that we shouldn't be really worried about it at all and we should be focusing on something much better which is the fact that you could make a profit yourself, without needing these people.
It's sort of comforting to see people falling for the same tricks over and over. That reminds me that new investors don't learn from the mistakes of old investors and the circle goes on.
It makes me feel less bad for my own past mistakes of getting scammed when i see people falling for even more ridiculous scams.

That also means we can count on the fact there will be countless scams ahead with same exact emo. Nft scams, ico/ido/ieo scams, CEX exit scams, anon dev exit scams. Because masses won't learn anything. I need to have money ready for shorting when ever next big stablecoin fails or exchange gets hacked. Because those will happen. That's for sure.
2366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good Cause to Use Stablecoins - Help Earthquake Victims in Türkiye on: February 09, 2023, 09:10:50 PM
Binance also airdropped $100 USD (in total $5M in TRY tokens) directly to their turkish users living in the destruction area. I am not sure if that's the best way to go as an organization with an infrastructure already in place can help more efficiently with proper funding.

I guess those users need money if they are alive, but i am not sure if $100 would make much of a difference to my situation if i was living in the area.

And i am not bashing Binance for giving money. That's very cool gesture from them. Just pointing out that i don't understand why not give to organizations that actually know what they are doing.

2367  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My message to Pfizer on: February 09, 2023, 07:50:10 PM
The only reason why Pfizer would refuse to respond to my message is that they do not care if people die.
-cut-
Seriously that's the only reason? Not the fact that they get tons of mail and have to go trough all the spam?
That's kind of entitled attitude that you would be so important to them that they would pick you from the hundred of other posts from their public email, when countless of people are suggesting similar things? Because don't you think they haven't been suggested this like a hundred times. Probably since 2017 ico phase when blockchain was solution to everything?
Don't you think they have thought about this already. Because even if this space is new to you there have been TON of shillers trying to shill this tech to big pharma and institutions.

Because at the latest after you most likely suggested your own blockchain for this, they just marked you as spam.
2368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rumors that US SEC would like to ban crypto staking on: February 09, 2023, 07:22:14 PM
Ive just saw this tweet from Brian of Coinbase and its a big fud or a terrible rumor for altcoins. SEC wanted to crucify crypto staking in the US does considering the staking method as security. Of course this is debatable but some investor would feel bad for this news if ever they push through with this path. What can you say about this?

Source:
https://twitter.com/brian_armstrong/status/1623459203150131201?t=Tga5cATKNVjhBk7rMgCJyw&s=19
I am skeptic as people in SEC aren't stupid, and ruling it as security makes zero sense. This would be even more moronic then US banning Proof of Work. At least with that consensus algorithm they have an enviromental argument. Also it would be as much of a losing battle that would have only losers. How would us profit from tens of thousands of their citizens losing their money over night because of a ban?

But wanting to do something is far from making laws about it. I am sure that they will withdraw their plans as soon as they look at them. Otherwise it makes me wonder what are they smoking over there.
2369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: February 09, 2023, 04:56:01 PM
We hear it all the time in the news and even here on this forum - Scary price drop speculations based completely on fake/exaggerated news or on something without any kind of substance.

While we can all agree that panic selling is newbie domain, there are also veterans who love spreading Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. These are the people who know from experience that the Bitcoin price will definitely rise, but they can't resist buying discount BTC off of panic sellers.

Bear-whales and smaller traders alike spread FUD for the reason of scaring investors and pushing down the Bitcoin price.

Do you consider this FUD-spreading unethical or do "shaky hands" get what they deserve?
IT's as unethical as shilling the coin or manipulating markets while being a whale i guess.

I am guessing that response to your question would depend on your definition of unethical when it comes to markets because one can see the whole trading as unethical.
Prices dropping is a godsend to anyone who has done their research and believe on the coin as they can get it cheaper.
For anyone who is over-invested or is in it for a quick buck, they are losing money for sure. But then again they most likely would be losing it without any fud.
2370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 04:43:32 PM
Many times we are in a situation and we do not not realize the intensity of the problem. One such case is compulsive gambling. In simple words, it means that you are unable to control the urge to get involved with gambling even after understanding the potential harms associated with it.

Here are some signs of compulsive gambling :
1) Gambling related thoughts are always in your mind even when you are working on other activities
2) You keep increasing the gambling related money with each game
3) You try to gamble more in attempt to recover loss
4) Ignoring other important work like job just for gambling
Would you like to add to these signs ? Have you ever found yourself trapped in this situation and how did you get rid of this ?
All of those are signs of a problem.

But addiction itself isn't the problem. We are addicted to all sorts of things, positive and negative. And it's easy to check if you are addicted or not. Just measure the time you are spending into different things in a week or a month. You will know when it's too much and too time consuming or is it pushing away other things you would like to do.

Problem rises when it affects to your life and you let it control your behavior. I've seen men bored to death in poker tables that seem unhappy to be there. It's like obligation for them like a cigarette for a chain smoker as they are looking for the rush they got used to now.

You can have fun gambling if you are honest to your self and acknowledge your addiction and emotions towards it. Only then you have tools to keep it in check.
2371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Favourite MEME COINS? on: February 09, 2023, 04:16:20 PM
I was always a gem seeker, you know how it is with this low mcaps. They are x100, ×1000 or zero.
If we talk about microcaps, lowest meme token i am holding now is Pepe Solana. It's sitting now in $8.87K marketcap, which is ridiculous. Could be a scam from all i know so DYOR but i am thinking of doubling down as it wouldn't need much to raise a lot.

There are other new low caps i am holding if you are interested but they are not meme tokens

LOL! Fun fact, when you write www.dextools.com you are landing directly to their own chart. So i guess they bought the domain, i got to say it, this is a real intelligent move from their side.
That's because dextools.com isn't the right address for dextools.io

Edit: But ok i see now, this was just an advertisement for Dino, not a genuine question. Otherwise why would have you known about a fake url?
2372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: February 09, 2023, 04:10:31 PM
Yeah, i've seen all the fud as i've been around so long and it's mostly from people who don't like the centralized nature of the whole thing. However if we want adoption we need to deal with pretty high level of centralization involved and some people don't like it. The fact that usdt is 100% backed, but not all of them are backed with usd is somewhat troublesome, but even in case of a bank run everyone would eventually get their dollars. And that's not the case even with real BANKS so i am thinking people are overreacting.

Many of the fudders seem to came from a time when bitfinex got hacked and didn't like the way Ifinex dealed wih that. And since iFinex Inc owns Tether i think they just wanted to hurt them.

-cut-
1. They can freeze your fund
-cut-
That's because of regulations, not because tether wanted to do that. Do you think that other fiat backed tokens or anyone dealing with fiat money aren't required to do this?
2373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitnet scrypt coin ***NEW COIN*** 02-08-2023 on: February 09, 2023, 03:53:18 PM
Why should anyone care about copy of a generic scrypt coin? Especially when you have mined ~1000 blocks by yourself without telling anyone else you have launched a coin. That's not considered as a fair launch.

Also, no offense but you really need to hire a graphic designer because this atrocity from hell is offensive to anyone with eyesight.

2374  Economy / Economics / Re: Dubai is good example to other countries on: February 09, 2023, 03:36:40 PM
Just don't be gay or a woman and forget about your freedom of speech, press, expression, labour rights or religion.
Or you are all for privacy but don't care about surveillance and corruption or that their prime minister had ordered NSO Group hacking his his ex-wife and her lawyers.
That people are being disappearing and tortured or if human rights in general aren't really your thing but it's cool when you have oil money to build luxury, then Dubai a place to be.
2375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: February 08, 2023, 11:53:30 PM
Sometimes I find myself being added to Telegram groups where they are doing bounty campaigns for new coins but at the end of the day, people will start complaining that the project is dead. In most cases I exited from the groups immediately I find myself there because I feel they are prone to defrauding people.
This makes me to wonder if bounties really pay.
If you find a right one, it pays. I've even made some money with telegram bounty. But that was because i was paying attention to the rules and won the first price Tongue.
Usually telegram bounties will get flooded by bots and are not worth it.

Just try to either find something that isn't already flooded with participants or the ones that pay fixed money with estabishled cryptocurrencies like btc, eth or bnb.
But it can be more work to find one then to actually invest in cryptocurrencies and make money that way. And in that way you don't have to deal with tokens you don't trust.
2376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: February 08, 2023, 11:41:12 PM
There is nothing like a safe "reputable exchange"
-cut-
If we are going that road then there's no place safe enough for your private key either. If someone really wants your money they might just do some long con clever social engineering. Thing with exchanges and banks is that they are more resistant and trained to protect their data for any of that kind of attact then any pleb with a hard wallet that can lost everything in a fire or an accident.

As a disclaimer, i am not saying cex:es would be better for everyone. I am just saying that some people lose their house keys and important papers all the time. It's not that different with privatekeys
2377  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 08, 2023, 11:31:58 PM
Being a student is so hard nowadays. I've been spending a lot for school requirements and different activities related to education. I'm stuck with this saying "SAVING IS WASTING", thinking that with the little amount of money I have, should I put it on an investment or should I just save it for my future expenses or emergencies. I'm also living in a country in which there are limited side hustles I could do to earn extra for investment, so I'm troubled somehow.
You are a student. Sure you can try to keep your expenses as low as possible and save that way. But saving for the future while being a student for the sake of it is sort of pointless i think.
I have however met people who have saved money while studying but i am guessing they were taking that money from their parents.

I am assuming you are aiming to educate yourself for job that actually pays. Then there's time for saving and investing. Right now you need to focus on eating healthy, sleeping enough and exercising. Those are the things it's ok to spend on during while educating yourself. Because those are the things your brain needs to learn better.
2378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2000 sandbox would do? on: February 08, 2023, 11:12:00 PM
Metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox and Saudi Arabia have come to an understanding of some sort. Details were not provided.

Sandbox co-founder and COO Sebastien Borget took to LinkedIn to announce the news. “It was a true honor to sign our [memorandum of understanding] partnership … between The Sandbox and the Saudi Arabia Digital Government Authority,” he wrote. “We look forward to exploring, advising and supporting mutually each other in activations of the Metaverse!”

Source https://www.theblock.co/post/209458/saudi-arabia-the-sandbox-agree-to-collaborate-on-metaverse-projects

With this i am sensing some serious money flows coming in. Saudi money is in whole different level and first thing that came to mind was collaboration with the smart city called "The Line".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Line,_Saudi_Arabia
Projects like that can give a glimpse how much money are they dealing with.

However them being Saudi Arabia i am thinking they would have some ideas with censorship and any critizism of politics could end up being a problem.

Also most of the BAYCs and OG NFT holders hang around with others in twitter, so what's your twitter handle?

You know i can make those claims too. In fact, without proof anyone can. You can also dm me your proof in twitter -> I am @nftcollector in there

I think there is an opportunity to move away from this association of NFT and Art to NFT=Any Asset.
-cut-
Sure, but this could be anything from tokenization to a whole new protocol to whole new layer 1. And that would be whole another level of difficult.
I am assuming you have already read studies about owning rights and moving them between people via blockchain. That needs a new approach to digital identity and i believe that adoption for that could be coming soon.
