1461  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: June 18, 2023, 02:26:08 PM
Indeed, we will still be safer using paper money, and I don't want it to be completely phased out and replaced by CBDCs. But the government doesn't want that because they know that CBDC will give them better control over us, so I think CBDC is inevitable, and we won't be able to stop it. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, at least not in our generation, because our current world is still full of people who don't have access to smartphones or the internet, so it's tough for comprehensive CBDC implementation.
I understand your scepticism, but i don't think that problem will be in adoption but in the fact that there's no suitable ZK tech for it yet that governments would allow in larger scale. We are in the testing phase of few alpha versions that are most likely not going to take off as any of current platforms isn't really regulatory compliant or safe enough.

And while there technically still are people that 2023 Internet user statistics ] don't have an access to internet, [/url]there are people who don't have an access to banking or money either. But in civilized countries those numbers of internet users are way up, And that number is slowly increasing as the meaning and demand for physcal cash is decreasing. And this tech will start from first world contries, that's for sure.
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling on: June 17, 2023, 08:51:03 AM
Anyone will gamble secretly and secretly, they don't even want family members, relatives, or even fellow believers to know about the gambling activities that are being carried out.
This is a natural thing considering that there are also many gamblers who really want to be anonymous in gambling.
Apart from the religious prohibition, gambling is also badly viewed in social life.

In the neighborhood where I live, anyone who gambles is branded as a bad person and is not respected at all. Cheesy
Spot on. Shame doesn't need religion to fuel it but it helps. I think it's frowned upon no matter where you live, especially if you are doing it a lot. Which is weird. In finland it means you are contributing to lots of charities as well when you gamble. So it should be viewed as a public service to put your money in.

I guess people see the generic gambler as irresponsible, even if they don't know anything about their lives. And i am guessing there's a bit of jealousity when gamblers win and because gamblers dare to live more on the edge, while non-gamblers deny that from themselves. So they are easy bunch to hate or pity. I still see haters as a minority as most people know you can gamble while not being an addict or irresponsible.
1463  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: June 17, 2023, 08:40:34 AM
@Fivestar4everMVP @Jody.Drummer Actually "KYC" on Stake are mandatory for new-user. Old-user account still can play without being verified, but for new user who are register under this rules needed to be KYC first before they can play.

So, old-user still can play without KYC until Stake ask us to verified our account. If I was not wrong, about these KYC stuff on Stake maybe someone have more information but as far I know only new user.
I am only speculating here, but i am guessing that mandatory kyc will eventually apply to everyone, in every casino dealing with stablecoins or fiat money that is.

As this seems like a temporary solution to eventually fill regulatory demands.

Because when you think about it, asking kyc for just for newcomers doesn't really make sense unless it's a step by step system. As confirming IDs and scaling the process for applying to everyone instantly would require insane amount of work and it would take time while customers would need to wait in line for approval. Step by step system seems to make most sense to me.

That's how i am reasoning it anyway and i am not against kycs. I see them as necessary evil, however i wish someone would make a ZK based identification system to prevent id thefts via hacks.
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any airdrop hunters here need some leads on: June 16, 2023, 11:00:38 PM
After years of disappointment in airdrops of tokens that end up not being traded anywhere like Ethplode and Stabila, I missed on the Arbitrum airdrop, now I am looking for potential real good airdrops. It doesn't have to be in the thousands, a few real dollars are fine for the effort.
I hear zkSync and Venom can be big, I tried SUI but was unlucky to be late and they didn't really giveaway to that many people.
Please let's help each other with real good advice.
Maybe focus on hunting new cutting edge new tech in crypto and if you are lucky they will reward the active users with their token. That's how every successful airdrops have worked. If they announce airdrop before airdrop, it will get botted out and you most likely won't get anything worth money. In fact you most likely end up spending more then airdrop just by using the product in every way you can think of.

That tactic, of actually caring about the project and getting rewarded for it has given me a lots of money via airdrops.
1465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Blur token unlock on: June 16, 2023, 10:54:04 PM
As it may seems negative for this unlock I think a dump at this level is just mind-blowing, the price of it was already at the lowest and selling it might not be a good idea. I think the timing of the unlock is good but we never know the market and the people who might receive this unlocks maybe a lot of them need hard cash and they want to sell which is pretty normal but my guts tells me that it's absurd selling it this low.
Why is it absurd that people sell with any price they get for free at the bear market. Everyone knows it can drop a lot from here, so why not sell and get something.

Remember IMX and GODS airdrop? I sold gods in $5 which was near all time low at the time. So was it low and absurd to sell too or was it having a perspective on over priced valuation? As now GODS is $0.12
IMX i sold little under $5 which seemed like a bad price at the time. I just saw it over priced, and now it's $0.62.

It's not always about having some pocket money. People have made a lot of money selling BLUR and it's still quite high in the marketcap considering that it doesn't have an interesting or attractive useful use case that i can see.
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top AI Crypto coins that can possibly change your life on: June 16, 2023, 10:27:50 PM
I have to say that OP chose a good day to chill them as soon after this post, they all rised something like 100% just in days. They were pumped already because of the chatgpt hype so you would have missed the big bucks, but as they now are finally dropping with the rest of the market, we can see it was just hype. AI projects doesn't need cryptos. And i am assuming most people know this but are still buying it just like doge-related coins on doge hype.
1467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why haven't anyone created a crypto currency name Merit yet? on: June 16, 2023, 10:15:04 PM
Lately i been looking into altcoins more and more since I have got some more money in my life and want to make more investments then only in BTC.
One thing I was wondering is why nobody yet have created a crypto currency under the name "Merit" yet. Smiley

it's many smart people on this forum with a lot of knowledge about things like this and I think it could be a good currency to create. Smiley
Why would that name make sense over any other name? You don't create a currency because you think you have a clever name for it. It wouldn't have any fundamentals other than that and no real reason to exist.
Also there is a crypto called Merit in coinmarketcap, not only that, there's Merit Circle and Meritcoins. Most likely there has been several tokens that didn't live up to be in coinmarketcap.

So to answer to your question, it isn't a good idea to create a crypto just because you have name for it.
1468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy ETH as much as you can.... on: June 16, 2023, 10:06:36 PM
Some experts believe that the price of Ethereum will be around $50,000. But this does not mean that you should form your entire portfolio of cryptocurrencies only on Ethereum. With such a commission, I don’t think ETH has very good prospects.
In the next bull run? I think that is too high for a prediction, but in the long term, yeah, I would agree that it is possible to see that price range, similar to bitcoin's prediction that it can reach at least $100k (and the target in the next bull run).
Of course, diversify is the key here, what I mean is that it's not just crypto that should be in your portfolio. You should have at least stocks and other commodities to boot. So just in case, you have a lot of assets that you can play around and make profits in the future.
But for ETH, since it is second to BTC, it is one of the best cryptos, no doubt about that. It's leadership are very active and they have a face value founder in Vitalik.
Don't know who these experts are but i see that $50k being totally possible.

People have been underestimating and fudding ETH for so long as it's pretty easy to fud, it's bulky and expensive to use. why not use some centralized smart contract platform or platform that's fast because it doesn't have enough users. I have even been on that ship who dislikes eth. But upcoming and already happened changes are so radical that people don't know what hit them after eth scales. It's even deflationary now and we are at the top of the curve turning back, so people don't see the effect yet, but they will.
1469  Economy / Economics / Re: App to monitor financial world events - what are you using ? on: June 16, 2023, 09:43:02 PM
Hey All,
Can you recommend website / app that monitors upcoming financial events that impact global finances ? Like example upcoming US FED interest rates decision on Wednesday, next year BTC halving etc. Is there an app that help keep tract, set mobile alerts etc ? What are you using ? I'm just wondering if there is one stop shop for that type of info vs. collecting all the knowledge from news, tweets, socials ...
Thanks
M
I haven't found one reliable app that could do everything i want, but i am using shared google spread sheet and calendar with a group of friends that we update from various sources manually. To put in halvings, upcoming legistlations, halvings, airdrops etc.

Twitter used to be fastest way to get news alerts, these days it's just a confusing place full of trolls and none of my filtering seems to make it better. So i stick with browsing biggest news sites that are focused on economy. Those are pretty much a matter of taste and there's no "right" one to follow.

You also might want to google "Economic Calendar" of your liking to follow.
1470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling on: June 16, 2023, 09:09:42 PM
I'm not specific to any religion and hopefully, no members here will mention any religion, the topic is in general and not specific to one's religion
Can a compulsive gambler that is newly converted to one religion, compel him to stop gambling?

When we talk about religion it's about changing our ways, ideas, and beliefs so when we successfully help one compulsive gambler to convert from an example to an atheist to one's religion can we compel him to stop gambling?
I am sure some of them can, but some of them will struggle because addiction is not something you can pray away. But you definitely can use religion as a walking stick trough hard times. Usually person changes other patterns in their life as well, so it will be easier to stay away from addiction.

Is it possible that he will continue playing but secretly?
Well obviously, but he would be doing it in secret because peer pressure of religious community. They wouldn't be trying to hide from deity they worship. Or they could even find loopholes from the religion to justify their gambling.
1471  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto experienced bloodshed on: June 16, 2023, 08:24:11 PM
To those people who panic sell this time would definitely be making out some regrets later on, on the time that the market would really be green once again. For those newbies or who had just recently dive in into this market would really be normally be having those kind of impressions on which it might really be looking that this might be the end but its not, it is really just a normal market cycle.

We cant really just be having that one path to take which is upwards, it isnt really called a market if we dont really have these fuds and other fundamentals around which causes the price to be way more volatile.Crypto market does have those ups and downs and this is really where emotional test would really be happening and if you are that someone who do have that weak emotions then for sure you would really be that susceptible when it comes to errors and mistakes on things that you have done.

This is why instead of freaking out these kind of times, it would be much more wiser if you do really know on taking  this as an opportunity for you to buy more instead of panic selling.DCA is always the key.
Well panic selling is quite misunderstood as it can be a way to save money. If you are fast and ahead of curve. And you are facing a 2 year bear run, panic selling right at the start is beneficial.
I see selling in pure desperation or in rage, way worse.

When you have holded for a long time, you have almost nothing left and in a desperate moment you try to save what rest of you have left. I have seen people rage quitting, having meltdowns in absolute bottom, turning their passion into fud fire sale and total mayhem in the chats and forum, and right before mooning. I have sold the bottom too, but it wasn't because of fear, it was because of disbelief and frustration.
I guess i could regret it as it would have been life changing money if i managed to sell the top.

and is critique on in is justified when it's going to be just a dip, but this wasn't a dip but it started from 6 month crash from 2021 and we are still not out of the woods even if we , in fact situation looks so bad it almost stopped the bull run.

So people who panic sold, probably made money. Now we the sentiment seems to be desperation and disbelief and selling on that would be worse.
But i agree, dca is a good tactic in general.
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy ETH as much as you can.... on: June 15, 2023, 11:32:47 PM
I see ETH to become next blessing in disguise, I remember when it was around $100 people condemned it not to go anywhere within the space of a month interval ETH shuck the price in 500% increase and today is about $1800 let's watch and see ETH will create unbreakable records, channel some useless coins you have to ETH and relax in future.
Is your analysis of really "it mooned before it will moon again"? Is that really the only reason for it to moon? How about the fundamentals of it and why those other coins useless? Because they didn't moon.

I see this kind of low effort meme-like "technical analysis" as a worthless angle when we could list actual use case reasons for it to moon. And compare it to other coins as well in some other way then saying they are "useless"
1473  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: June 15, 2023, 11:19:13 PM
I took a look at its trading volume and it's shockingly low. Under $100,000 on Binance. Low demand and a huge circulating supply means it is expected to see such low prices. The token burns have not really had any effect since the amount burned was so small.
That's because there is still too few people playing at FUN casinos unfortunately. They don't make much marketing sadly, so they are not known by many gamblers except Freebitcoin users for the time being but more people can come in the coming months. Furthermore FUN tokens price is currently very low in BTC, so some investors will certainly buy more to get better perks at Freebitcoin.
True, but also you don't need FUN tokens to play. I am playing in Freebitco.in constantly but i don't have that much use for freebies that i would get by "staking" FUN. I understand why some people see them worth it especially in these prices, but if the benefits were radically better, i most likely would buy some too, if the amount needed for those benefits wouldn't be irrationally high. Then again they wouldn't be that cheap to begin with if they gave better benefits.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ambivalent attitude to gambling on: June 15, 2023, 10:10:29 PM
Maybe the reason why people don't see bingo (or lotteries) as forms of gambling is that the risk of addiction is perceived also as lower, compared to other games like poker or slots. We make the difference between soft and hard drugs, so I would say that we unconsciously make the same comparison when we think about different games.

You're right that one can also get addicted to bingo or lotteries, but at least it seems that it is not so common. It would be positive if we could  see the real numbers.
I saw same people in my last apartment buildings filling several rows of lottery weekly, some playing even with same number, and they couldn't stop as if they would, they were afraid that those numbers woudl finally come, So they'll be playing those numbers their whole life as it's safe to assume that they will never come. Some of them also had a routine to buy scratch tickets on same days.

And one of my girlfriend was working in the bingo. She said that same faces were there constantly. It was a way to past the time and to see friends to them. So i would call that an addiction as they were using money for it the whole time they were in there.

1475  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling addiction causes ear deafness? on: June 15, 2023, 09:37:41 PM
-cut-
He said that he screamed to him to wake up scarily, he said his brother is his savior, but I replied to him that he is someone who listened, most gambling addicts that I have came across have closed ears, they won't listen to you when you try to warn them or advice them.
Have you meet gamblers that are going way too deep into addiction and you try to stop them and they listen? I've never accomplished that before.
They always behaved deaf, like some spiritual power is in control.
I am ignoring the misleading title and just answer to this.

There's nothing spiritual about it. Getting trough to an addict doesn't happen by screaming, it happens by listening and conversation, but if you really want to have an effect, maybe organize intervention with closest friends and talk with the addict. But have your basis covered and learn about gambling addiction before doing that. Because shouting only drives the addict away from your influence. That could make them just hide deeper in themselves.

There are also ton of peer support groups in the internet, there were even some peer support threads here in bitcointalk if i recall correctly. Point the addict to those, he might even enjoy talking with people who understand them and are not screaming to them, but work as cautionary examples.

And needless to say on top of those, professional help gives you best results.
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Infinity Realm token on: June 15, 2023, 09:24:46 PM
I've recently introduced the Infinity Realm token on Binance as the official currency for our upcoming blockchain game. I aimed to achieve a fair launch and organic growth

Thank you!
When token is BEP-20, it isn't on "binance", it's on binance smart chain. So for starters that's misleading. Then you might want to explain how exactly this has a fair lauch? I mean what do you mean about it because it has sure gone trough inflation of meaning. So maybe explain it by comparing to projects that don't have fair launch. Another buzz term is "organic growth". What steps exactly have you taken to achieve that?

Game itself doesn't look bad, but it isn't looking pro either. And with these days standards, if you want to build fps what people will play it needs to work really smoothly or it needs at least original idea. From your trailer i am not getting either. It seems quite generic and i can't figure out why that was worth posting. I am guessing you wanted to show that you have something. Hopefully it was alpha stage or something, still, why post alpha footage if it's not ground breaking.
1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin, Dogecoin Gain After Musk's Tweets, But Will There Be Another Bull Run? on: June 15, 2023, 09:05:43 PM
I don't think that he shills for nothing unless it's true that he's just enjoying seeing people enjoying his tweets and shills. He started the meme coins games and that's why many now are hopeful that they'll get a fortune investing to new meme coins.
He's the one to blame for this and everyone that's still attached to his shills will never move on because it's like that many have been stuck to what they've bought and still out of nowhere to be found even just for the break even.
Well he is being sued over dogecoin price manipulation for more money then he owns, so he probably ends up paying a lot. And even after he was sued he seemed to double down and continue. Now there are more evidence against him. But this is going to be such a big case as he is a powerful individual that it will take ages to proceed to actual court. Depending who rules the congress then, this could be end of the era where musk is the richest guy in the world.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If I have 1BTC So how did I use to invest in different Coins on: June 15, 2023, 08:57:29 PM
Investing a substantial amount in cryptocurrency alone can actually put you at risk due to market volatility. Diversifying your investments across different assets and income streams is a conservative approach to risk management and has the potential to increase your chances of long-term success. Splitting your investment between cryptocurrencies like ETH and BNB, along with other assets like gold, can yield a diversified portfolio. Each asset class has its own characteristics, benefits, and risks.

Cryptocurrencies can offer high growth potential but come with volatility, while gold is generally considered a more stable and traditional store of value. Also, starting your own business can be a great way to generate income and build wealth in the long run. Having a diversified portfolio with different investments and income streams can provide stability and help reduce the risks associated with any single investment or business.
Volatility itself isn't really the problem, or would yo say the same if we started mooning? Volatility is the key reason why people are buying alts. Problem is that we are on the bear market and fundamentals are more then horrible right now.

I can suggest you NEON, i feel like this is a good one, Neon Link
I checked it and that's not even on the market or launched yet. So shilling is quite unnecessary

Litecoin has lost its power. There's no further development happens.
I don't even like litecoin but there is definitely development happening, community is strong and as it's fair distribution POW it's not going to be in danger of being declared as a security. Also it has never gone down. Which can't be said in ton of the altcoins out there.

I see it as pointless and my trust on it vanished when charlie sold his LTC in the top. But wouldn't say it doesn't have power behind it.

1480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If I have 1BTC So how did I use to invest in different Coins on: June 14, 2023, 09:54:19 PM
I usually Invest a very small amount of bitcoin to another coin because I know this time is very crucial to invest in any new coin or even in an old coin.
Any suggestion from your side which is good for long term
Right now, i can't see any good option no matter the altcoin. Changes are that we are not in the botton so basically all coins would drop in price if that was the true. Some would say that it's good to buy when they are cheap but i'll say why buy now if you can buy -50% next week. No one really knows what happens and maybe you'll get lucky and find the one coin that doesn't drop but i would say that changes are against you.

Prices will come up eventually but no one knows when. 4 year cycle might have been broken as people are waiting it to play out. We might be here for a while. Fundamentals right now look terrifying
