2361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 09, 2020, 05:14:04 PM
This is sad news in gambling industry. We should remember that we shouldn't borrow money from others just to gamble or try to recover our losses. If we think gambling is the only way to earn money, we should change that and ask for the help of others about financial matters rather than ending with this.
You are right and actually loaning and gambling are often linked together because like you mentioned gamblers often take loans and borrow money in hope to win more and pay back everything.

gambling must be done with the money you have in spare or can afford to lose so that once you lose it you don't have the added challenge to recover them back, I do not know why people even gamble with money they need to desperately that they later have to take loans and pay back.

In case someone has lost what he could not afford to lose still there are better ways of paying back by working extra hours and save more because life is precious or I maybe say priceless and monetary situation should never be so much that you end it.
2362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did anyone try to "gamble" with ponzi scheme crypto scam services? on: November 09, 2020, 04:26:44 PM
No, as i don't believe such thing like that can multiply our money in short time. It's all BS and waste our time and money obviously. If they can really multiply people's money in very short time, they will multiply their own money and keep it by themselves. That's all i do believe
Actually there are some open ponzi schemes as well. Like they will show users a payment address and as long as money keeps coming the people who sent earlier in the stack will get paid. So, basically the people deep in the stack get paid while the ones floating on top of the stack are at high risk if no more investors send money. I hate these kind of stuff and never participated in these kind of activities but I have seen a lot of people having fun with these and then once the platform scams they don't even have any bases of claiming or reporting for their money.

Something that seems to good to be true, is mostly a scam. I read this somewhere and I still believe this fits well for all greedy ones out there.

Parimutual betting actually has one thing that could be fine for the person who complained about the changing of the odds as well. Thequin (as always) is right about the fact that odds change depending on the person who gambles and how much money is gambled, so in the end you could see 50x odds for something at start but then everyone could wager on that for some reason and drop it to 1.5x odds, it is possible (unlikely for something to drop from 50x to 1.5x but "possible").

However there is also weighted period as well, not really entirely sure what it is called but we all know and thequin can explain better that if you wager at 50x but the odds drop to 1.5x instead, you still get more money than someone who wagered directly at 1.5x hence when you bet does play a role. Maybe you do not get that much, but you do get different returns.

Yeah I read that part on freebitco.in earlier. The weighted bonus (known as Time Weight Multiplier on freebitco.in) is what changes the game here. It's quite simple though.

Assume that person A is betting an amount $10 at the odds of 50x and the weighted price is 20x.
Person B is betting an amount $10 at the odds of 1.5x and the weighted price is 0 and the betting period is over.
Now if they win then person B will get $15 (10 x 1.5 = 15)
But the person A will get $18 (10 x 1.5 = 15 x 1.2 = 18)

So that's how the weighted price plays an advantage to person betting first.
Thank you for explaining how the weighted bonus works, or time weight multiplier whichever we should be naming that. I knew the idea of it and I knew that with the weighted bonus you got more but I couldn't really explain it to anyone the way you explained it so this really helps not only for me to understand it better but also helps me explain it to other people easier as well, so from the bottom of my heart thank you for the quick lesson.

This shows that if you bet on parimutual side of the website early, like monthly bitcoin price prediction is a great example at the start of the bet and when by the time the bets are closed, you are going to be better off. Meaning you have two options, either wait and get lower odds but probably a better understanding because we are closer, or act quickly and get a bigger return but also have a bigger risk because we are further away.
2364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AIRDROPS ARE NO LONGER VIABLE on: November 07, 2020, 06:49:32 PM
Uniswap is not the responsible party when it comes to fake projects getting listeed easily (doesn't require anything) and scam you, that is the projects responsibility. This is why we are in a decentralized economy, the only reason why we do not have regulations to prevent us from getting scammed is literally us trying to run our own economy without anyone not only doesn't interrupt us, but also can't change anything neither.

Uniswap covered a problem people had, it was getting listed or finding place for your worthless coins to be traded, there were too many small exchanges that scattered around online where people had to open accounts, use their KYC and many other stuff and deposited and hoped exchange doesn't scam them, uniswap fixed all of that and made it incredibly simple.
2365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain based mobile voting App on: November 07, 2020, 06:15:54 PM
The idea is really cool, imagine just voting from the comfort of your home, who wouldn’t want that?
But the question is whether it is possible or not. There have been places where it was tried in states or cities for some kind of votes as a test, and from the report those people are giving, it is not safe for voting.

From the article, it maybe able to carry a small number of votes, but can’t carry something like a notional votes, because it’s vulnerable to being hacked. Anyway, as time goes on we will know if we can figure out a better to do that.
2366  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading losses on: November 07, 2020, 05:06:00 PM
Buy when the price is low and hold till the price is high to enable you have a good income from your trade. Many people lose their profit because they fail to observe the time to buy and hold for market to change before supply.
The million dollar question must be how to spot the "low" price. Unlike it sounds easier, it would be much harder to get into relatively low price levels.

One possible solution to spot lower prices must be, continuous buying with fixed timeframe. If you keep on buying then there are a lot of chances for getting your some 10% of holding at low prices and other portions will be spreading across high to low price levels. But this is how professional traders are getting lower prices but instead of fixed timeframe, they must be making use of technical analysis.

When you keep on buying at all possible low price levels, then the chances are minimizing losses will be very high. Because, you are spreading the your risks across market fluctuations which will be getting you definite profits but for this method, you must have very big capital or continuous capital to buy time to time.
2367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do not trade Alts with BTC these days, You will just lose on: November 07, 2020, 04:21:05 PM
Better waiting until bitcoin have reach higher price and keep stable for giving chance for altcoin to grow up, just now still moment for bitcoin and not good timing of you wanna entry to altcoin.
Yeah, when bitcoin is dominating more than 70% in total capitalization of crypto space, it would be much better not to touch any altcoins for trading purposes. It can be a basic thump rule like when bitcoin dominance is increasing then we should book profits in altcoins so that we may get chances to buy at cheaper prices. I'm not sure how many altcoins will be finding capabilities to stand against high-value bitcoins because I am seeing already lots of altcoins are facing very low value which which may lead them into delisting as well Embarrassed.

if you want to secure your money then better stay in Bitcoin only that altcoin is only for those who have guts to lost money or aware about the risk.
This has been a good suggestion for years but people are not ready to listen to it. They somehow want to risk with altcoins as well. Quick and easy profits could be the few of the reasons for them still considering about altcoins investments.
2368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: November 06, 2020, 08:55:24 PM
When you are 40 years old in a football club you have a lot more responsibilities than any other player in the team, you are sometimes twice the age of some players in the field and that gives you a lot of responsibility not just the way you play but also the way you act. Think about yourself and how immature you think you were just 5 years ago, even when you compare from 30 to 35 you feel like a lot of maturing, whereas this guy has 10-15 and sometimes more difference with his teammates so he has to bring that maturity to the club as well.

Veteran presence is something every team sport cares about, and when your veteran is a 40 year old gold scoring machine like Ibra that could make these kinds of moves to motivate the team, even if they ended up losing this was a way to help them get hyped a bit.
2369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 06, 2020, 08:24:22 PM
The article doesn't share much information apart from a few names of his room mates. I wanted to know why he was gambling and if I am not mistaken gambling in not allowed in India so how was he even gambling? If he was making bets with his friends then there was no need to take this extreme step as he can always ask them to wait while he earns some money. Suicide doesn't help anyone to be honest, his family will suffer and even the people whom he owe will suffer for whom I don't feel bad though.

I wish there was an organization where people can be educated that life is priceless and if you are wasting it for money then you have a wrong mindset. Imagine how much a rich guy would pay to get his life back? $1 billion? Maybe even more!

Nice bet on the above betbuilder nelson, I also think AC Milan will win big tonight, I would even go for a -2 AC Milan bet, not sure about the corners because I don't know how Lille plays, if both are very open and not trying a lot of shots just going for easy slot ins, not sure. They're not a dribbling in the box team too (I think).

The bet wasn't successful. Milan had a bad day in office. Picking Milan today was a bad idea. They've now ended their unbeaten run thanks to a 3-0 win by Lille (the match is still on btw). Tipping to win with -2 would've been even worse. But they have had over 12 corners so far and over 2.5 goals. Ac milan has been so good for a long time that I forgot that they will lose one of these days.
To be honest with Milan they really had a tough stretch this season with how hard they have worked and I knew that fatigue could have played a role eventually, it was expected. The great part about European games being all together lumped together like this is that you get to find a lot of games where the favorites are really destroying their opponents and usually easy pickings unless something major happens.

Played on Leverkusen and Roma to beat in a multi and got that plus had one individual bet on Arsenal as well which I got, quite a profitable day from that two bets. I wanted to bet on Leicester which looked like a very easy game as well but I chickened out at the last minute, if I added Leicester to my Arsenal bet that could have been a lot more cooler Cheesy.

We offer player versus player betting rather than fixed-odds betting against the house so what the other players do after you placed your bet determines what happens to the odds next.

Got it. Thanks for the links, now I understood the concept well. In fact we have been doing this kind of betting in place I work in where the prize pool would be the loser's money.
I just didn't know there's a name and a whole concept behind it. So this explains why the odds keep on changing since the people are actively placing their bets on different ranges.

Nah we are not on any lockdown here, people are busy going about daily businesses as usual. We did go for an early lockdown, that was when the coronavirus started and a few cases were discovered in some states. Despite we went for a lockdown it didn’t stop the numbers of new cases, so everyone was like ‘what’s the need for a lockdown when the cases keeps increasing for two months?’.

Moreover, the worse part was that the economy started to fall, and as I am seeing it, if we go for another lockdown, the economy might as well vanish. But right from time I’ve been online and remote business, so I wasn’t really affected.
2373  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Crypto Jobs 2020 on: November 05, 2020, 08:58:12 PM
There is something about growing industry that takes up a lot of people under its wing and growing together, there is really nothing that could stop you from getting a job as long as all you care about is finding a job related to crypto field, if you are not looking for a specific thing you should be finding one fairly easily if you look and apply all the time.

Obviously there are very advanced positions that would pay a lot of money and it would be incredibly rewarding as well but there are also jobs that you could do like freelancing or bounty hunting and so forth which would be nothing that big of a deal and could find one everywhere, hell airdrops could be considered a job if you work hard on them enough. Hence I believe someone very young right now could grow with crypto world and could become a very successful career for them for a very long time.
2374  Economy / Economics / Re: Working plans for uneducated unemplyement people in USA on: November 05, 2020, 08:25:39 PM
The biden have Plan to start working big places for BLM and for white people who is unemployed and un educated.
Like factories and Agricultural If its needed They Will Bring people from Other locations across the USA to Work in those places.
I’d go with what Gozie51 said, when it comes to unemployment, it’s not an issue that any government cannot fix, every government can fix it if they. Although I am not trying to say that what he’s trying to do is not a good plan, it’s a good plan, at least he’s going to do it and it will help to reduce the rate of unemployment in the US.

But, there are other issues that also needs to be focused on and I hope that he will also be able to handle those other issues, because if he doesn’t, then it will all be f***ed up. From what I noticed, a lot of people just want to vote Biden because they hate Trump, and not because they think he can do the job.
2375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining still profitable? on: November 05, 2020, 06:58:03 PM
That is the problem with the new companies trying to build cloud mining business but can't because of the stigma. Normally if you live in a nation that has low electricity cost and if you could focus on just the expense of the machines, you could totally make a profit from mining without a doubt. Obviously mining is something volatile as well, these days mining profits you a lot more than what it did a year ago, but remember when ETH went as low as 80 dollars? Miners lost money like bunches during that period as well and there is no guarantee that won't come back ever neither.

There were so many companies that did cloud mining and claimed "they got hacked" and not paid anyone's money that, even though cloud mining could work as a good business, people just do not trust them anymore.
2376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC PUMP, But Every other Coin Dumping!! on: November 05, 2020, 04:54:29 PM
I see this as a great discounted price and nothing more, people act like things will continue to go down forever but I do not believe that, I think it is going to be something a lot more different, it is going to be discounted price now and it is going to increase about 25% or even more in the near future, probably inside this November month.

So, if you have any money that you could spare for investing (do not use money you need) you may actually end up with not doing that bad very soon when the prices increase but be careful about being able to wait, it may not be too quick so you need to be careful. I really do not know what people could do with altcoins going down because there is no way we can stop it while sellers keep selling, but when that stops it will be our turn to increase it.
2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a good time to buy Bitcoin ? on: November 05, 2020, 04:10:14 PM
It is always a good time to buy bitcoin, because bitcoin is the hedge against inflation and increasing prices of everything in the world and there is basically nothing else that could improve as well as bitcoin in the near future as well. I am not saying bitcoin is at the great price right now to buy, maybe it would have been better if you bought a few months ago when it was lower, we all know that, but what people are forgetting is that if you do not buy now, you are going to regret it few years down the line as well.

You saying "I wish I bought at 10k, I would have made some money now at 14k" will be the same thing in the future when you say "I wish I bought at 14k, now I would have profited at 20k" when that happens. Which is why stop looking at near terms and think more long term when buying bitcoin.
2378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 5 reasons I see $100k in next 2 years on: November 05, 2020, 03:37:44 PM
People are looking at bitcoin differently nowadays because of the price and that makes me very happy, whenever the price increases there is a lot of people who come out of the woods and talk about how awesome bitcoin is, whenever it drops there are people who come in and say "is it dead? will it die?" and that upsets me a lot.

Let's hope that current situation continues a bit more, we really need people who are very much in love with bitcoin and that number of people increases or at least shows itself whenever the price increases like this, so we should keep these prices higher for a bit longer as well. We can't be so certain that bitcoin will continue to go up forever, eventually it will have a correction and go down a bit, but if we are strict about our future plans for bitcoin we can overcome that period easily.

Wang is a legend, let's post a pic of his current graph Tongue

Dude is doing something that we can't see, I know this is gambling and I know what Wang is doing is definitely possible but I really implore Devans to check what is going on because he might be after something. Who could make 280!!! bitcoins without having a serious drop ever, he had like one or two big drops that was small compared to how much he made, and he gets in with like HUGE wagers each time and he usually ends up winning, that is really not something you see every day.

Maybe I am just jealous of him and I want him to be turn out to be a hacker or found a bug and that is why he wins and since I gamble properly that is why I do not win, because if it turns out that he is just a regular better gambler that is of course upsetting for me and everyone else who lost countless amounts here Cheesy.
