I see the Bitcoin price is  creeping up for the weekend pump and dump. I've got a sell order open at £8,996, and it's only £100 off. I'm hoping it will trigger, and the price will dump tomorrow, so that I can buy back in ready for the price increase next week. I'm not too good at forecasting though, so the price will either go to £8,995 and I'll miss the sale, or go exponential, and rush up to £12,000. That way I'll miss the big gain. Still, it's only a small trading account, my main holding wallet won't have any withdrawals for at least two years.

06/08 update:

Well the contract completed, and the price promptly went up, so I lost out on the potential gain. I think that we are on the edge of another substantial rise, so I bought back in again at £9,542. I'm down in Bitcoin terms with regards to just having held the coins and done nothing, but I've made a profit in real fiat terms, but again, not as much as if I had done nothing, but just HODLed.
2362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Adopt New coins ? on: August 02, 2019, 10:02:34 AM
Bitcoin is unique, and there will never be another equivalent coin - the resistance to 51% attack possibilities ensure that. Because of this, it doesn't have to compete with anything, and the 10 minute block generation average is an advantage, and not a disadvantage.
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the blockchain tech be used to prevent counterfeiting of physical cash? on: August 02, 2019, 09:40:53 AM
I'm sure that the government would love this, as it would mean that they could track every cash transaction. Nobody would bother to check receipts though, so it would have a very limited use. It's far easier for the government to introduce their own digital currency as an alternative.
2364  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where did you get the inspiration for your username? on: August 01, 2019, 08:14:43 PM
I had the idea that I wanted to start a money transfer system, and JetCash.com is one of the domain names that I own.
2365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: British Virgin Islands introducing new fee to send money abroad on: August 01, 2019, 08:02:03 PM
William Pitt introduced income tax in 1799 as a temporary tax to fund the Napoleonic Wars - how temporary is temporary? How long before the BVI uses the money to fiinance "defence"?
2366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: S/HDD FOR Bitcoin Core on: August 01, 2019, 07:49:39 PM
I've got a Samsung 860 2Tb, and it is great. I chose the 860 because it has a longer life. I'm also advised that you will extend the life of the drive if you use one that has twice the capacity you require. This is because of the method used bt SSDs for rewrites.
2367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core qt only use 1 core on cpu on: August 01, 2019, 07:39:58 PM
A personal observation on some of the above comments. I use a mix of computers over public WiFi, and the two things that seem to make the greatest difference for me are the number and quality of the peers that connect with me, and the use of an SSD rather than an HDD.
2368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fake trade volumes on: August 01, 2019, 06:53:54 PM
All Bitcoin trade volumes are false, this is because P2P and local bitcoin trades are not included in the published stats. I suspect this is where the largest volumes occur as well during normal trading periods.
2369  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin is unique on: August 01, 2019, 06:48:51 PM
Whether Bitcoin is the best is a subjective opinion. It is certainly not the best investment for my 90-year old lady friend who doesn't own a computer. Bitcoin is a unique product, because it was the first, it managed to grow through a period of 51% attack vulnerability, and it is now at a stage where such an attack is not possible in my opinion. I can't see how any new coin can achieve this position now that the weakness is known widely.
2370  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: August 01, 2019, 06:40:50 PM
I'm also at stage 5. This is based on comments by members of the ruling elite, who want to reduce the world population by 80%. The white supremacy policies that have run from Cecil Rhodes anglophone plans though Hitler to the modern day. The other tools they use such as statins and opiates, and personal observation as to the effects of vaccination.

Other factors are the introduction of laws protecting vaccine producers from legal actions, and the lack of long term research into their effectiveness. Also, there is no research into the interaction of vaccines with the other drugs that Big Pharma cons doctors into supplying.

pure honey is one of the expensive and most wanted medicine to cure many disease

That's the royal jelly, not just the simple honey. Honey is healthy and great tasting as well though.
2372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You Should Know Before Playing A Crypto Betting Game on: July 31, 2019, 09:34:02 AM
I think that all crypto betting games are designed to make a profit for the site owner, and therefore the odds are always against you. I would avoid them, and try some other form of gambling where you have a better chance of winning if you use your skill and knowledge.
2373  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is Smerit and what is the point behind it and how do you Receive it? on: July 31, 2019, 09:20:51 AM
Over a year ago I created an article about the merit system -
https://talkmerit.com/the-source/index.php/articles/the-bitcoin-talk-merit-system

This is based on ther perspective of a merit source, but I haven't updated it for quite a while. I'll try to review it in the near future.

I haven't accepted PayPal for many years, in fact I even registered the name PreyPal.com, because i consider Pay Pal itself to be a scamming organisation. Any payment you receive is just a six months loan in reality, and they can reclaim it from you if their profits are low, or if a scammer used it a couple of transaction before yours.

Sounds about right - Aren't they going to give John Bolton a Nobel peace prize?
2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will go below 100 $ and then > 1,000,000 $ on: July 30, 2019, 04:53:56 PM
I heard that the IRS is going to enforce a parallel blockchain that takes 5% of all transactions. This is in lieu of charging a profit tax. They believe that the price of Bitcoin will continue to escalate.
2378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who wants to start the bitcoin church with me? serious this time on: July 30, 2019, 07:51:17 AM
Good luck on trying to get the congregation to put Bitcoin in the plate as it is passed around. Do they still do that in churches? It's a long time since I attended a mass.

How about removing tax on men's razor blades and jock straps then?
2380  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nuking China (possible scenario) on: July 30, 2019, 07:40:51 AM
Don't American rockets use Chinese chips? If Washington tried to nuke China, then maybe China would just turn off the rockets. Smiley
