1441  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get 20 Million Euro loan? Everything goes with "Hard profit mining place" on: July 23, 2020, 05:15:37 PM
Why  limit yourself to 20 million. Just say you can develop a vaccine from monkey juice, and the government will give you a billion, and you don't even have to pay it back.
1442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Natural corona virus immunity sky rockets. on: July 23, 2020, 05:12:11 PM
It seems to be pretty much accepted that 95% of the population will not have serious problems when they are infected with the corona virus. It would also seem that almost everybody has been or will be infected at some stage in the not too distant future. Natural immunity in a healthy person lasts for in excess of 17 years - that is the furthest back they can go to check, so it is probably a lifetime immunity. Fake vaccines are expected to give limited immunity for less than a year, and will require regular " top ups".

95% of the population has been adversely affected by the economic measures imposed by governments, and the resulting deaths would appear to be in excess of the genuine ones that can be attributed to the virus.

So in summary, if you are at least half way healthy, then you should get a mild infection during the summer months, and build a natural immunity before the monkey face masked brigade get their winter infections.

Please note, I have no medical training and I haven't been indoctrinated by the Pharma propaganda. I'm just a practical guy who likes to delve behind the sheeple fodder.
1443  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown easing - I'm back in the cafe on: July 23, 2020, 04:02:14 PM
Well I'm back in the supermarket cafe tomorrow, as I've bought a wild life trail camera on Amazon ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B087RFJFRL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=10 ) the policy is to ask customers if they have a mask, and to ask them politely to wear it if they aren't. If they say "no" then security is told to let them in anyway, and to ignore the mask wearing requirement. Now that I know that I don't have to wear one, I might wear one to gain some good boy points. Smiley

ps. I asked if I can have a straw so that I can drink my coffee. Smiley
1444  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Installing Android X-86 on an HP netbook on: July 23, 2020, 03:24:27 PM
I'll wipe the hard disk, and install the OS for a direct boot.

Actually I've just been looking at Phoenix OS, and I might use that. It appears to be Google free. I haven't done the research yet though. If I back up anything that I want on the current netbook, then I can just experiment with wiping the drive and trying a couple of Android based OSs
1445  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown easing - I'm back in the cafe on: July 23, 2020, 02:33:40 PM
I'm bored with it all. I've got to wear my Darth Vader sanding and metal grinding mask to the cafe tomorrow. No way am I going to pay a couple of pounds for a tatty cloth monkey face mask.
1446  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Installing Android X-86 on an HP netbook on: July 23, 2020, 01:51:20 PM
Thanks for the reply.

I considered getting a tablet before I bought the netbook, but I don't feel comfortable with the concept. They were more expensive than the netbook, and seemed to offer less.  I bought the Netbook as a second system, and promptly replaced Windows with Ubuntu, and it is working well. I get 9 hours use from a full battery, and I use it for posting, reading emails, a bit of picture manipulation, and stuff like that. I ran a full node using an external SSD, but I had to pause that due to the stupid Covid restrictions.

The Netbook is an HP Stream X360 with a Celeron N3060 processor running at 1.60 GHz ( the slowest variant ). It has 2Gb of memory and a 28Gb SSD. The case is an unpopular light blue, so the whole setup was a couple of hundred pounds less than the normal price.

I don't want to buy another system at the moment, as my next planned move is a Raspberry Pi based system for the van, and this will use solar power. I'm held up on this as I can't find roof bars with long enough legs for the solar panels.

Please can we support these boards. I've always thought that they have great potential for sensible discussions, but they still don't seem to get a lot of activity. Are people really influenced by the lack of signatures and post count increases? Bitcoin Talk has a wealth of intelligent  and knowledgeable members - lets try to recreate the interaction that was one of the strengths of the forum.
1448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Another stimulus package is coming, where should congress be spending this money on: July 23, 2020, 11:24:32 AM
How about nationalising a zombie bank, and keeping it under government control. The gov could then issue prepaid debit cards to the people, and place restrictions on their use.

They should also stop funding vaccine research that will never produce a safe and effective product, and stop supporting the bankers and the stock exchange. Raising interest rates by a percent would also help.
1449  Other / Serious discussion / Installing Android X-86 on an HP netbook on: July 23, 2020, 11:16:00 AM
I want to install Android X-86 on a Celeron based HP Netbook. There are a number of reason for this.

- Some restaurants block YouTube on computers but allow viewing on mobiles. I gather that Android X-86 will emulate a mobile, and I hope it will allow me to view videos.

- I've just ordered a wild life trail camera. This is to help a friend who has problems with people stealing from within her woodland. A normal surveillance camera is not really suitable, so I'm going to try using a wildlife camera. - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B087RFJFRL/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
Setup is performed via a smartphone using their app, and it allows for the downloading of images via bluetooth and wifi. It will be much easier to do this using a netbook rather than a smartphone.

I'd be interested in comments and advice from anyone who has installed Android on a desktop or notebook computer.

My first "notebook" as a nomad was a Chromebook, and it is usable when WiFi is available. I ended up giving it to my partner though, as it really is very limited. You can run it under Ubuntu, but it is not as good as the HP netbook I bought. This came with Windows 10, but I wiped that and installed Ubuntu, and it works well. It was also slightly cheapen that the Chromebook. The main problem with both of them was/is the inability to change the hard drive or increase the memory. The notebook I have is a Core i5, and is probably powerful enough for web site maintenance, and most of the other things I do at the moment.

I'll try a bit of video editing, and based on my experiences, I'll probably decide on an improved system in the future. Linux Mint with Cinnamon looked like a good replacement for Windows 10, but I haven't started to use it yet.
1451  Other / Serious discussion / Beta interferon - a new treatment for the virus. on: July 22, 2020, 11:51:44 AM
I've just watched this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqDd7ixh184&t=1362s

I can appreciate that people with impaired immune systems, and who contract the virus, may need medical aid to recover. This beta interferon treatment seems to be a possible way forward, but I'm a bit undecided at the moment. What do you guys think? Please convince me that it is a good idea.
1452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Old grandmas funds to pump bitcoin? on: July 22, 2020, 11:16:03 AM
I'm a cynic. I suspect they are doing it because they believe the heirs won't understand Bitcoin, so when granny dies, nobody will claim the funds.

Note - I have no justification for that belief, just an understanding of some current investment and banking practices.
1453  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chinese Uighurs - concentration camps, slave labor on: July 22, 2020, 11:09:37 AM
Modern day slavery seems to be as rife as it ever was, and it makes one wonder why all the dick heads that are pulling down historic monuments and statues are doing it. It almost appears that they want to conceal the concept for the benefit of the modern day slavers. Of course they are funded by the Anglophile Empire, so they don't want to do anything that decreases their profits.
1454  Other / Meta / Re: Am I the oldest member here? on: July 22, 2020, 10:02:10 AM
I'm taking advantage of the good weather to clear dome of the detritus from my past. It isn't making much money for me, but it is making me feel a lot happier and independent. I think I'm going to commit to a full time life as a digital nomad as well, and I might start a thread about that. Internet connectivity and power sources are a big part of such a life, and I've learn a lot over the past months. The first step is a new battery for the notebook, and I've just spent nearly £40 on a new Ninja Pro. That's half the price of an HP original, and it seens to offer a bit more power. It has some good reviews as well, and I liked the fact that it uses Samsung cells. If I am happy with it, I might try to repair the old battery.

The HP netbook is great since I installed Ubuntu on it, but the disk and screen are a bit small, and it isn't easy to upgrade. The notebook has a spare memory slot, so I can double the ram, and I have already bought an SSD to use instead of the HDD with Windows 10 on it. I will probably switch to the new Linus Mint with Cinnamon, so I would welcome any comments about that. This will return to being my main computer.

Long term, I think the answer is a Raspberry Pi with solar power, but that is a few months away.
1455  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Problems covid19 cause on: July 22, 2020, 08:31:32 AM
The virus is a fairly low risk epidemic compared with some from the past. The problems all stem from the way it is being used to accelerate wealth transfer and population reduction. Most government actions are designed to increase mortality and people's natural immunity, rather than reduce it. There will never be a vaccine that is as effective as a healthy immune system, and this is implied in most of the reports. It is complete madness to destroy national economies by funding research that will never result in a beneficial product. The best way to improve world health is to reduce the massive use and investment in pharmaceuticals.

It's time to stop the lying, and try to rebuild family values and wealth.
1456  Other / Off-topic / Re: Eating expired meats on: July 22, 2020, 07:50:15 AM
It depends why the chicken expired. If it was diseased, and then chlorinated, then I wouldn't eat it under any circumstances. In the past I've hung road kill pheasant until the maggots arrive, and they banged off the maggots, and cooked it. That is the way you get the true rich game flavour. I'm not sure that is advisable with most modern farm reared chickens though.
1457  Other / Off-topic / Re: What brand of deodorant do you use? on: July 22, 2020, 07:42:45 AM
Sea water - it doesn't block the pores, and it doesn't taste unpleasant.

When the banks assume ownership of enough of the properties after the landlords become bankrupt.
1459  Other / Serious discussion / Fiat is a three way multi-sig virtual currency. on: July 22, 2020, 07:24:31 AM
This comment was made by a subscriber in the Ivan on Tech chat.

It is something that hadn't occurred to me, but I think there is a certain amount of truth in it. The three signatories are you. the bank and the government, and in these days of toxic debt, bank fraud, and profligate governments, people are starting to seek alternatives, and to lose confidence in most national currencies. Of course I am referring to the virtual deposits in fiat that are recorded by the banks.

What do you guys think of this opinion, and do you think that banks are trying to cut out the governments as signatories in the alt currencies they are trying to create at the moment.

I miss typed "most" as "mist" in the phrase "mist local currencies", and I was tempted to leave it. Smiley
