And guess what word is censored in bitebi9 chat, yep, Cryptsy. You should post those fun facts in that reddit thread.
The /r/bitcoin folks seem to like our theory.
Once again, the brilliant minds at $UNO are ahead of the game!

Here's part of an e-mail from Oct. 28, 2015 re: Coins-e Exchange UNO wallet deposits/withdrawals Saul A < hi@coins-e.com> "Hey Craig - we have an issue with the UNO wallets. Corrupted dat file - luckily it's not too much as a payout. I'll have to pay you out in BTC if thats ok? Give me until Friday and I will have the withdrawal processed. Apologies for the long and stressful wait" CS Thanks for the coins-e experience info. It's been over 24 hours with no response. I sent another support ticket. I'm guessing those 10 UNO have vanished into electron Heaven...oh well, I guess ten less UNO makes the remainder even more scarce!

CryptoID is a great block explorer. Congratulations!

Update on Coins-E:
-18 hours later 10 UNO still have not arrived -no repsonse from support (24 hour turnaround)
FK, I agree with the Cryptsy theory. Based upon their behaviour, they are definitely under water, needing BTC.

Well then.. who's ready to buy a couple thousand more? I will prepare to buy a few BTC after new years in hopes for that opportunity. A thousand here, a thousand there. It really adds up! Flood the market!

BC, I thought you'd send 100 Un over there. Getting cautious, I see. Gotta be careful these days, with the GFC and all... Nah, just wanted to send enough to make it a decent test. If it is lost, the entire UNO team is better off knowing to stay away.

In July, 2014, there was 56k Uno in the famous uRAN wallet, later discovered to be Cryptsy. 19K is still a lot, but its been worse.
Curious... has anyone checked coins-e.com lately? Is that one still working for deposits/withdrawals?
I was able to login. I'm trying to send some $UNO over there. I'll report back in awhile... Three hasn't been a trade there since July... UPDATE Tried to send 10 UNO to Coins-e. The TXID showed complete. UNO never showed up at coins-e Submitted support ticket. Supposedly 24 hour turn around. We'll see... You seriously didn't send a small tester, before the 10 UNO, to an exchange that hasn't had a trade in months? Perhaps 10 UNO is a small tester, my friend...

The irony here is unbelievable.
This same thread of tweets has occurred during the meltdowns of Gox, MP, etc.
It's the same playbook every time. One would imagine that people would finally get wise or the scammers would come up with some new material. Alas, but no...
Hope is certainly a powerful emotion...

FK, my hope is the same as yours, that Cryptsy recovers.
However, like I've always said, only leave as much going on the exchange as you can afford to see vanish.
If it's truly an inside job, I can't help but wonder what island paradise Big Vern will end up on St. Bart's, Mustique, or maybe IMZ will catch him hiding out somewhere in WA?

Thanks for the info Gekko. At first glance it appears that this: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?20615.htm is the Cryptsy "hotter" wallet, ~11,000 addresses but contains only 77 UNO. I'll do some more digging later (big Chemistry exam tomorrow), but we got some good info. If anyone makes deposits to Cryptsy in the future, check if it gets funneled into that wallet. This is what I'm beginning to enjoy: Look at the distribution. As the exchange mega wallets continue to decrease, the distribution will look even better!
|
|
|
Just saw the mega wallet went under 20k $UNO and 10% of total in existence.
Great work killing the mega wallet!
|
|
|
Exciting stuff! The lack of faith in Cryptsy is sure helping to drain the mega wallet faster than I ever thought possible! The Chinese trading pair (I hope it is legit!) is also very exciting and a great development! Has anyone noticed / used the largest wallet function on cryptoid.info? I know that it is very experimental (per the developer); however, much of the $UNO leaving Cryptsy appears to be accumulating in a wallet with a grouping of 32 addresses. Is exodus from Cryptsy just a move to another exchange? Bittrex? Or, is a whale developing a giant position? Take a look: Isn't there a way to see the $UNO distribution at Trex?

@Nat
I have seen that as well. I believe people conclude that it is far better to lose 5% than 100%.
Hopefully, they will realise $UNO's low inflationary store of value nature and become HODLrs and accumulators.

thank you for Slovakia i have 2 UNO nodes always online Hey! What is your node setup? Open port in standard client on 2 different PC's? Does it benefit the network any more if 1 person runs 2 nodes instead of 1? (Other than making our node count look more appealing and representing your country) Thanks for the info. Now we know sa1phx is running the 2 Orange Slovensko nodes (Slovak ISP), I wonder if the Hetzner, Secured Servers, Staminus & OVH SAS nodes are run by only 1 individual each. It seems that some of the companies listed are ISP's & others are hosting companies (I'm learning about this stuff for the first time). Does anyone know why somebody would run a node through a hosting company instead of their own connection? The connection with the most nodes (4) is Hetzner, which offers servers for 83 Euro per month. So I guess that could be one person who uses a host server for other purposes & decided to run multiple UNO nodes through it because they had additional storage space? Pardon my technical ignorance, but what is involved in running a node?

this looks like a good time to buy
@maki Welcome! It's always a good time to buy $UNO! The original very low inflation, fair launch, crypto commodity!

I've created support ticked saying something like 'please cancel my pending btc withdrawal'. They have returned my btc back to balance in a hour. Another way is to ask cancel withdrawal in chat, they will do so in a minutes. A bit more complicated part is to find altcoin with tiny spread, good volume and working withdrawals( ltc withdrawals pending for hours and maybe days). Doge have worked out for me( Eth and Dash withdrawals worked also), but it was yesterday, i'm not sure is it working now, just try it out.
A good alt for withdrawal is UNO / Unobtanium. I know that people have been able to withdraw it. Plus it is stable and highly liquid on other exchanges... Man, Charlie, what's up with you? People really shouldn't help pumping random coins to get their money out. That's far from a solution. No attempt to pump here, bruh. If you look at the chart, you can see that UNO has been very steady in terms of BTC ever since the recent meteoric rise of BTC. Anyway, UNO has been a great store of value and is a base pair at a few other exchanges, and it's also been good to me from a buy and hold perspective.
