Any news for market place ? Is this market place will be like silkroad ? If it becomes like silkroad the value of syscoin will same as bitcoin. Smiley

All the features are working on the blockchain. We are in the process of doing code samples and websites for developers, this will allow for any type of marketplace you can think of.

The BUY wall story is getting boring. I mean really boring. Devs agreed to defend the pre sale price, before the coin was launched. The walls were there and were filled due to unfortunate start of this coin. That story is over, coin lost a lot of its pre sale price, but that doesnt mean it will not hit it again. Sell pressure is lowering each day, and when marketing kicks in the price will recover. The value of this coin will be recognized by people sooner or later. I see this price range as buy oppurtunity.  I have confidence in devs because they have proven themselves honest in multiple ocassions. They may not have experience, but they will gain as time passes...

Despite promises, this coin does not differ from any copy paste crap coins out there, and does not matter if its "yet". I did not expected miracles when invewsting in IPO, so I am not dissapointed, just hope no one loses much of his savings.

Right, so let me guess.. You have not even looked at what the coin offers and code..
We are here, still working away in the background. Our main propose for the last while has been to weed out the bugs that was stopping us for continuing with the roadmap.
These are now all fixed and working.

We are consolidating the team, adding the new devs to the workflow, assigning tasks and moving forward.
Its nice to hear, but blah blah blah. Same ss with other alts. No promised features added so far, You should AT LEAST add disabled features to wallet - it looks same like others 500+ shitclones. Pure facts.

I am starting to think you are just fudding at this stage. ALL the promised features are there.. Every single one of them.. "Pure fact"..
As we have said before integrating these into the QT-Wallet UI was not meant to be a part of the initial release. It was added, but did cause some issues with wallet load times, hence why we disabled them. This will be re-enabled when the load issue is resolved.

I just expected to get promised 2.0 features, which clearly ARE NOT IMPLEMENTED IN WALLET. What else do You want me to say? Do you expect some not tech savvy investor in this wild west cryptoscene to invest in promises? Or do You want him to invest in something which have to work, but suddenly something went badly wrong, but will be fixed someday?
BTW Not even Cryptsy is now able to trade / deposit / withdraw SYS. Do You think its good PR?

For the love of.... We don't control Cryptsy, they are impossible to get in contact with.
As for the rest of your comment, not going to bother responding to it as there is nothing constructive about it. Got better things to be doing

Update to wallet 0.1.4c on Win7 Home Premium x64 was a success. I no longer need to resync the entire blockchain when starting the Syscoin wallet software.

Thanks again, devs.

Perfect, glad to hear it..
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: September 01, 2014, 08:35:52 AM
But you are thinking one-sided (your own side - not the coin side).

Merge mining spreads the hashing around, alleviating the probability of a 51% attack. It also gets more people aware and involved.
If you don't mind trading in weak coins, there's plenty to choose from. If you want to deal with a coin that has a better established base of people vested (it's a word and I used it right) in continued success, this one is for you.

The price is partly due to FUD, partly due to shortsighted people, and partly due to unforeseen issues that delayed the launch and affected the early ability to transfer coins among exchanges.

Find me another new coin that has the backing of good dedicated developers, backed by a company that promised resources if needed (and proved it), and has such a strong interest among many of us (not you) this long after launch. I've seen several other new coins die on the day they were born, in just the past week or so. And several coins killed by the greed of their own scamming creators.

Maybe you aren't yet qualified to do any thinking. But don't stop trying - you'll get there.

I think merge mining was a big mistake..look at the  diff and the price now...

It was always the case that Syscoin was going to be merge-minable for exactly those reasons. We had hoped to launch with it, but there were a few issues that has since been resolved.
It is all about securing the network for future usage. In my own personal opinion any coin that does not focus on this will die.

As for this week (Note : Syscoin v0.1.4c was just released ) :

So whats you guys up to next week? Can you tell us what you planing? I am not asking for any ETAs, just plans. I dont know if you saw the IRC at that time, but Whale123 made some good points in IRC...

Right now we're focusing on this pesky 0.1.4c release which it looks like we'll release tonight and also getting the growing team into a single, unified project management system. Soon as I'm done with that stuff I can post more info on what we have planned.

Specifically this week we are trying to talk to Moolah, and also trying to get together a concentrated marketing effort/microsite on the "offers" aka the Syscoin Marketplace service including hiring developers if needed to create multiple examples on top of the API which we will open source as well as use ourself to sell Syscoin swag. We plan on doing this type of concentrated marketing on each of the various features now that things are stabilizing the network hashrate continues to grow thus providing a reliable foundation for businesses.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: September 01, 2014, 07:15:48 AM
Update 9/1:

Syscoin v0.1.4c has been released addressing the wallet open/close issue. This is a non-mandatory update.

This fixes an issue some may encounter when reopening the wallet regarding a chain database error. Github master has been updated as well. Always backup your wallet.dat before upgrading your wallet.

Links on OP updated to reflect new download. Website will be updated shortly.

Hi Dev,
I have not received the email for private key,
and i have been feedback in 14 days ago,
but virtually no progress, what can i do?

https://moopay.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/3599

Moolah is responsible for these tickets there isn't anything we/our team can do to address this. Maybe someone from their org can post help for you...

That's completely ridiculous!
I invested Syscoin, but you tell me you can't do anything!

Moolah is the escrow. That means we have NO control over that part of the process. But do PM me ALL the details and I'll see if I can push them a bit

Did you fill out http://www.syscoin.org/presale ? In that case you should have received some details via email.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MANDATORY UPDATE] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: August 31, 2014, 03:56:29 PM
can merged mining really help a coin to boost again? I doubt that.

MM has nothing to do with "boosting" anything.. For Syscoin we want a stable blockchain, that was always the logic behind MM.

Doge is doing merge mining to secure its network.

Exactly

Wallet hasnt worked for me today was ok yesterday and running latest version. When i opened it today it said the Database was corrupt so had to rebuild it. Once that was done i closed and reopened it and this time it just hung. Had to delete the folder (except wallet.dat) and it is now re syncing. Running win 8.1

As we have said multiple times. We are aware some people have issues with the QT-Wallet.. We already have a fix for this, but are running extensive testing on this in order to make sure it is fixes it for good.
If you see this issue, do not close, open, close, open etc.. Wait until fix is out..

Publishing this as pre-release:

My modded Sysmarket

Actual features:

  • View available Items of the Blockchain market
  • View available Aliases
  • View available certificate issuers
  • Add an Item to the market (You need to send sys to the wallet first as its empty)

Still not fully working, but hopefully on about the weekend:

  • Dividend calculation based on offers. Returns usable sendmany string to conduct the dividends

The github repo is: https://github.com/JohnDorien1/sysmarket

Ideas and contributions, aswell as buys of my offer (offeraccept dd9a408322642a36 5 && offerpay <result ID> <Your Sys address>) are highly welcome!
Also tip danosphere as its based on his first work and he helped me a lot with some bugs that encountered!

GREAT WORK!! This is what I'm talking about- this has be very excited Smiley Looking forward to getting off work so i can really dig into it!

BTW- for those that are getting a "blockchain corrupt, rebuild?" message after closing and opening their wallet- this is an intermittent local wallet issue (doesn't impact network, doesn't negatively impact wallet, just an annoyance that should be fixed). Say "ok" to the prompt, the wallet may hang; close and reopen and it will resync and you'll be all set.
We are working on getting a patch out for this today, we noticed it late last night and updated github but then realized this morning this issue was intermittent so we're working on a small update for later tonight. Its not a mandatory update at this point. We'll make it clear once the update is available.
Dan-Can you give a detailed time plan?

Just running on testnet at the moment. Want this to be 100% solid before a release.

Wallet just wont sync.
The wallet has not had any reported issues to sync, please join us on freenode at #syscoin for troubleshooting Smiley
Thanks for responding.. I will try and do freenode, dont have tons of troubleshooting time tho. It just sticks at 2 weeks to go. It also says nodes need to upgrade. Trying to figure it all out.

Please make sure you are running the last version from OP/Website. Sounds like you are running an old one.

Got some spare SYScoin sitting around doing nothing?  Since I'm an active SYS miner (and supporter), please check out www.cryptoforkids.com

For the past decade WLRA Radio/Lewis University (Romeoville, IL) holds a bi-annual fundraiser to benefit Advocate Hope Children's Charities. So far Lewis U has raised over $100,000 for the charity. Twice a year WLRA has a "To kill a DJ" week where students raise money for the charity.
We are Big Burrito Radio (heard on WLRA Saturday mornings at 10AM CST), wanted to come up with different ways of raising money for the charity. We started out doing collections at music events. Then 4 years ago we came up with Island Dreams (www.islanddreamscards.com). Island Dreams is a charity art card set that itself has raised over $10,000 in the past 3 years.
Last year I caught the crypto-currency bug. I thought what a great idea to take crypto and exchange it for BTC for the Children's Hospital! So here we have Crypto for kids!
please donate need to raise 20k to show our support..if you donate please say you have so i know we av reached 20k THANKS

[..]

Looking forward to learning more about what you're doing, and I understand that you might not be able to share all of the details in terms of numbers; a lot of business plans are full of numbers which are pretty much made up anyway, and I've never really seen the point in that. Personally I'm more interested in the general direction: types of product perhaps, whether you will be able to do any marketing and if so what, any branding details, that kind of thing rather than the kind of business plan you would take to a bank.

I've pushed an offerupdate to reflect more details of the BP strategy. Please let me know if there's still questions open that need to be taken up into it Smiley

Looks good.. I think this raises an important question as well and something we (the Devs) have been talking about.
The blockchain and the functionality of Syscoin is by design decentralized and will remain so. It should not be possible to censor this in any way or shape as it would defeat the whole purpose.
Personally not a fan of a number of people having to approve offers before they are put on the blockchain for good, that again is censorship and centralizing.

At the same time I am sure some websites will frown upon displaying all offers / aliases etc due to the usual kids who thinks it is funny to be using obscene phrases.
There are clearly a huge number of ways to be dealing with this on the Sysmarket code side.

Filters. Way too easy to defeat.
A feature where you have to pay more to list items, Encryption/Decryption, only allow offers put on that market to be listed.
Reporting etc.
