can merged mining really help a coin to boost again? I doubt that.

MM has nothing to do with "boosting" anything.. For Syscoin we want a stable blockchain, that was always the logic behind MM.

Doge is doing merge mining to secure its network.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

OK, seriously, why would I invest in this coin?
- the value is constantly dropping and there are no perspectives for it to change
- no whale is interested in it and they explicitely stated it on Twitter
- there is 1500 sell pressure at 500 satoshi that will last forever (people who bought in pre-sale will be dropping at this price and people who are buying now will be dropping even lower)
- devs promised some kind of marketing actions when the blockchain is stable (it is now) and nothing happened
- volume has been topped by volume of coins like voot
- there is poor communication - the community doesn't know what is happening now and what can they expect later

I don't see it going below 100 anytime soon, but 600 is also impossible. Probably the price will bounce between 200 and 400 for many months. On what basis are devs thinking that the coin will succeed? Should we believe that new functions will attract investors? Those that were already launched did not. Contracts etc. are great concepts but that's not what makes investors happy - promoting those features does.

Main question: if you think that this coin will grow, what makes you think that?

Short answer:

*YOU* wouldn't.

You make assumptions that are opposite of what some others believe. You fail to recognize that whales downtalk the very thing the ARE interested in so they can influence people to sell cheaply.

This isn't the thread for price and trading talk. Read through the earlier posts until you find the link to the proper thread. Yes, go find the link yourself.

Main answer: go read all the previous posts to discover why people think what they think. Why are you so special that we all should repeat ourselves simply at your whim?

How do you get through daily life with an ego that large being in your way?

OK, seriously, why would I invest in this coin?

Main question: if you think that this coin will grow, what makes you think that?

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I've seen the thread. Smart way to put all the people worried about this coin in one place. But that's not the way to fix the problem. So basically you are telling me that this coin is curiosity for geeks who like fancy features but people who are interested in an investment should stay away from it.

If you've seen the thread, your motive for posting before is suspect.

Don't know what you mean by "all the worried people" unless you mean you are all of them. I don't see any other worried people here. Again, you are suspect.

I didn't tell you anything about the coin. I said it wasn't for you and nothing more. Don't put words in my mouth.

FUD someplace else.

There is nothing you can do to avoid government tracking and NSA surveillance. To suggest that anything you have or provide can prevent that is purely false.

End of story.

Tired of being tracked by governments and NSA?

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Right now we're focusing on this pesky 0.1.4c release which it looks like we'll release tonight and also getting the growing team into a single, unified project management system. Soon as I'm done with that stuff I can post more info on what we have planned.

Specifically this week we are trying to talk to Moolah, and also trying to get together a concentrated marketing effort/microsite on the "offers" aka the Syscoin Marketplace service including hiring developers if needed to create multiple examples on top of the API which we will open source as well as use ourself to sell Syscoin swag. We plan on doing this type of concentrated marketing on each of the various features now that things are stabilizing the network hashrate continues to grow thus providing a reliable foundation for businesses.

I agree with you. People are merge mining doge and litecoin as a primary and syscoin as secondary.

Thanks for the update. Concentrated marketing sounds as something we need, yes. Let people know what SYS is about.

Its better in a way though because theres less "pressure" on them to sell it at these low prices because its not their primary focus?
If your a miner why cant you just adopt this aproach and sell your doge and purchase more SYS with those earnings it if your aim is to hoard some coins?

But you are thinking one-sided (your own side - not the coin side).

Merge mining spreads the hashing around, alleviating the probability of a 51% attack. It also gets more people aware and involved.
If you don't mind trading in weak coins, there's plenty to choose from. If you want to deal with a coin that has a better established base of people vested (it's a word and I used it right) in continued success, this one is for you.

The price is partly due to FUD, partly due to shortsighted people, and partly due to unforeseen issues that delayed the launch and affected the early ability to transfer coins among exchanges.

Find me another new coin that has the backing of good dedicated developers, backed by a company that promised resources if needed (and proved it), and has such a strong interest among many of us (not you) this long after launch. I've seen several other new coins die on the day they were born, in just the past week or so. And several coins killed by the greed of their own scamming creators.

Maybe you aren't yet qualified to do any thinking. But don't stop trying - you'll get there.

I think merge mining was a big mistake..look at the  diff and the price now...

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
