241  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Power outage in Venezuela on: March 12, 2019, 02:10:32 AM
Maduro should not blame the terrible crisis in Venezuela, under his management over decades, on someone else or on external forces, such as U.S.
Over last two decades, under Maduro compromises, the nation has crashed in nation-scale, from financial, to medical, transportational, and other factors.
He should accept the fact that the crash of Venezuela is mainly due to his bad approaches, and he should be responsible for that.
What happened with other dictator, like Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi are very classic, valueable, and bloody lessons for him.

For current power outage in Venezuela, it has widely impacts on locals, lots of patients die due to lack of electricity supplies to essential medical devices, poverty has become worse, and violence has turned worse as well.

You have to have merit in order for your pictures to be seen. Can anyone give me a few please. Thank you!
This is one of the most stupid and fastest approach to get red tags due to merit begging.
244  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The death of cash on: March 12, 2019, 01:56:03 AM
What's happened in Venezuela when locals there have to carry bags of cash to buy only a cup of coffee is a classic example for the coming death of cash, not only in the nation, but also on the worldwide scale.

In addition, the situation for locals there has become much worse with the last days without or lack of electricity supply.
245  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 10-Mar-2019] on: March 12, 2019, 01:34:14 AM
I known it recently open hours ago, but I did not post its details here.
The reason is the campaign paid in ETH and MBL tokens, whilst the topic specifically provides campaigns paid in BTC.
MatchBillion.com launch their signature campaign, managed by Hhampuz.
And as of the moment, senior and full member spots are full.
246  Other / Meta / Re: ★ Benefit of Merit Competition on Signature Campaign ★ on: March 11, 2019, 11:35:01 PM
Wonderful statistics you wrote there, it gives a sign of hope any of the newly promoted snr member rank users might get a chance of getting accepted.
It means that there are around 29 percent (or lower) of probability to get accepted to join that campaign for self made Senior Members who earned 150 to 250 merits.
I think that it is a significant probability of chance, so for someone who are self made Senior Members (started from zero merit), you can hope with your application.
However, if don't get acceptance, you should not feel dissapointed, because that campaign is the highest competitive one over last two years (due to its highest pay rates and its long period since its opening)
247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Viewing images without quoting posts/ OPs on: March 11, 2019, 02:33:09 PM
Too much steps to view the image. Why not just click the URL to redirect you to image hosting where you can see the image.
I'm sure newbie will only see the URL of the image if they post an image. So if newbie can't see it just click the URL to view images.
To avoid phising links, or something like this, it's better if only apply those steps to view images via only-view approach.
You don't have to click to anything to view images.
I have still thought that spending a couple of seconds, it don't ruin our lives, but it is better, and safer.

Thank you so much for raising one more point for my topic.
I added that point into OP.

250  Other / Beginners & Help / [Guide] Viewing images without quoting posts/ OPs on: March 11, 2019, 01:35:44 PM
Originated from post of @theyoungmillionaire, there:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5118278.msg50075512#msg50075512
I think that it will be good for newbies as well as forum users in general with the tip.

If you are newbie, you are definitely unable to display images.
For a long time a go, the feature is open for all ranks, but due to spam waves in the bull market of 2017 and early months of 2018, theymos decided to allow only Junior Member and above rank can display images (Copper Member is the only exception, but you have to pay for it).

The guide has its meanings for both newbies and higher rank users in very different ways.

So, the question is, if you want to see images posted by Newbies (and don't buy Copper Membership). You can directly click on links to see images, but this way will put you under risks of phising link traps. Clicking on links is fine if you know well about those sites, but the fact is there are so many sites provide image uploads, so you are not able to know them all.  Consequently, if you have such habit, you might instantly click on links to unknow sites, that are potentially phising sites. Be careful!

Now, how to see images without risks of get trapped by phising sites. Here you go!
You have only one option, with 4 steps below:
  • Going to OP's profile, by clicking on the name of OP's account
  • Going to the post history of OP. By clicking on the following line Show the last posts of this person., at the bottom of OP's profile page.
  • Going to the last topics of OP. By clicking on the following line Show the last topics started by this person., at the bottom of OP's profile page.
  • 4) Finding the posts/ OPs you wanted, and you will fully see attached images inside posts or OPs.
* Remember that you should do the second and third steps separately.
If you want to see images in OP's posts, let's do the second step. Instead, if you want to see images in OP's OP, let's do the third step, it will save you a lot of time.

Examples
I gave you two examples:
Example #1:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5118278.msg50069836#msg50069836
Applying four steps, then you will get what you want.
1) Going to OP's profile, by clicking on the name of OP's account
2) Going to the post history of OP.
By clicking on the following line Show the last posts of this person., at the bottom of OP's profile page.
3)  Going to the last topics of OP.
By clicking on the following line Show the last topics started by this person., at the bottom of OP's profile page.
Remember that you should do the second and third steps separately.
If you want to see images in OP's posts, let's do the second step.
Instead, if you want to see images in OP's OP, let's do the third step, it will save you a lot of time.
4) Finding the posts/ OPs you wanted, and you will fully see attached images inside posts or OPs.

Example #2:
Another example is the post of @Tungi17, there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg51146198#msg51146198
You obviously can directly see the image, if you don't click on the link. However, by apply the trick above, you can see the image in post history of @Tungi17, here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2606396;sa=showPosts;start=20

Other meanings to the forum
Besides the main purpose to avoid phising sites, there are other meanings
If you are higher rank users than Newbies, you are definitely able to quote posts/ OPs to see images attached inside.
Personally, I recommend you should not do this.
Why I suggest you should not quote?

Because, quoting that way is unintentionally supports OPs to display images.
Let's go further a little bit, the case will become worse if OP or authors of posts are scammers.
You quote, and unintentionally help them to display images what they want to display in order to more easily to scam others.
It's so bad, right?

I thought that scammers should lose something if they want to scam others, such as paying small BTC to buy a Copper Membership.
It is so stupid if you help them to display images, and scam other crypto enthusiasts with hundreds of bitcoin or ethereum, and those scammers don't lose anything, even small BTC for a Copper Membership.
You are curious, but please don't let your curiosity help scammers to save their funds and more effectively scam others
Don't quote, and you reach following purposes:
- Forcing OPs to buy a Copper membership to display images.
- Reducing the image-contained spamming posts in the forum.
- Securing yourself from phising links due to avoid clicking on links of images.

Thank you @theyoungmillionaire so much for your amazing post, that forced me to compose the guide; and images that I used for my topic.
Honestly, I have not known this tip before luckily read your post.
251  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source application Italian and Reputation Sections. on: March 11, 2019, 02:09:19 AM
I vote for coinlocket$ to be a merit source in the forum.
Main reason is he has made lots of contribution to the forum, especially his regularly analyses and update in Merit topic.
I followed him and his posts since last year, learned from him a lot (his writing style, his breaking ideas, and the way he help others to improve their knowledge, skills, and protect them from scammers).

One thing, coinlocket$ made me surprised with his merit source application in Italian board.
I have never thought he is Italian.  Smiley
252  Other / Meta / Re: Is it a forum bug? A copper member and stood at member rank wears avatar! on: March 11, 2019, 02:02:43 AM
I've PMed theymos about this before. Either it went straight into his Spam folder or he simply ignored it.
Sorry if I am saying something arrogant.
You should not do that again, fella.

Reasons:
1. theymos actually read Meta, or even other serious boards.
He actually known what happened in the forum, in Meta, whichever serious issues, questions caught by theymos.
2. It is obviously that theymos's inbox is one of the most interesting place to spam PMs.
Consequently, I don't think theymos will read PMs from strange users, especially he don't known well in the forum.
3. If something seriously happened, global moderators, staffs will contact theymos for sure.
4. Sending theymos PMs like this might be risky for your account.
I am not sure how he will act with you PMs, and such PMs like yours, but I believe he do dislike them definitely.

TryNinja made more suitable contact, but I doubt that he will get answer.
I just PM'ed him. Let's see what he says about it.
253  Other / Meta / Re: Is it a forum bug? A copper member and stood at member rank wears avatar! on: March 11, 2019, 12:28:21 AM
- Maybe the owner of the account was full member rank or above before and then while wearing avatar he accidentally deleted old post and lost his rank.

But since the account is not created below 2014 I think the account was demoted while wearing avatar.
The account can delete his posts, and got demotion but can not delete his merits, from 100 merits at least to 19 merits as we saw now.
Only theymos can do it, but if theymos do it, the account is not be able to wear avatar.
As we all witnessed, theymos is not dumb, and I don't think he made such ridiculous mistake.
254  Other / Meta / Re: Self made sr. member not being a pro in the cyrpto field ... on: March 10, 2019, 03:49:20 PM
Congratulations, cryptogivi.
You are a strong guy, survived and promoted well thorough the merit challenges.
Eventually, merits are unable to ruin your life.
Additionally, it is more impressive promotion with the time you moved between Full Member and Senior Member ranks.  It is a really short period.
You motivated me a lot with your fastly promotions, two times (firstly, Full Member promotion; secondly, Senior Member promotion).
255  Other / Meta / Re: Is it a forum bug? A copper member and stood at member rank wears avatar! on: March 10, 2019, 03:45:03 PM
First, the account is not an old hacked account, so there is no privilege to wear avatar below Full Member rank.
Secondly, the account has not earned enough 100 merits to rank up to Full Member. But, wait! Even it was a Full Mmber, then deleted bunches of posts and activity count drop to below 100, 100 merits have not disappeared.
Thirdly, the most possible reason, is theymos deactivated merits of the account due to merit abusements like we saw with some cases. (I don't remember where I saw the, but you can find).
However, for some reasons, there is a bug that keep allowing the account to wear avatar, not disabled it.

You can give me a round of applause if your like my third assumption
256  Other / Meta / Re: Excuse me if this has been discussed before... why does the forum never change? on: March 10, 2019, 03:31:11 PM
I really dislike "modern" websites with an overload of design, where the actual information seems to be less important. I don't need a "sexy UI" that takes longer to load.
Not only overload issues, but also simplicity is the best for older, traditional users.
With strong, and efficient devices, fast Internet connections today, loading is not big issues.
Of course, young generations might prefer new, modern, colorful designs, but I dislike all those features.

I think it is issues between generational preferences.
And, theymos is not a young man, I guess based on the recently disable animated avatars one or two weeks ago.
257  Other / Meta / Re: Is it a forum bug? A copper member and stood at member rank wears avatar! on: March 10, 2019, 03:17:40 PM
I remembered I read it somewhere, and iasenko asked for answer repeatedly.
The account is obviously  not old hacked account.

There is an assumption that those ones are forum staffs.
Let's wait me a while, I will search it now.
258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there some new methods for earning bitcoins? on: March 10, 2019, 12:12:31 PM
it is clearly that you have lots of things before jumping in such a harsh space like crypto if you don't want to lose all your money.
In crypto, all things move fast, win and lose.
Money comes and goes, fastly.
This will be a long road for me

I known the story of Hal Finney, who passed by years ago due to his disease.
After saw your thread, I have a bad feeling regards to the image.
Then, I searched and found the article.

It is real image of Hal Finney, I guess based on Google Search results.
So, I think that you should not post it here, as the way you show your respect to Hal Finney.

You, again, made a great weekly update in the topic.
Overall sMerit From rank to rank, ignoring the donator/adming/donator/vip/staff/brand new rank

Personally, I don't like the first chart.
The reason behind this is the chart is too difficult to see which rank is highest, which rank is lowest.
I thought that you have very good ideas, but it the chart will express your ideas better if you use bar chart.
If I were you, I would use horizontal bar chart for the case, coinlocket$

For example:

I don't know why sums of both colums or rows do not equal to 100 percent. What's wrong?
Or are there missing data?

Edited:
I look back at your thread, it seems that I found reasons
