There are rumors that Schalke 04 is already looking for a new potential coach to replace David Wagner. The club bosses are no longer convinced that he can develop the team and are therefore looking for potential successors after the embarrassing 8:0 defeat against Bayern. However, there does not yet seem to be a name.
This would be a solution, of course. But I hope they will wait a bit more, at least until the next weekend. If Hoffenheim will lose his game against Bayern with at least 4 goals, David Wagner schould not be made responsible for the 8:0 lost. That would be due to the fact of the quality from Bayern.

The tactical appraoch Wagner let his team play against Bayern was definitely a reason why they got destroyed with 8:0. Their full-backs (Rudy and Oczipka) were way too offensive and too slow against Gnabry and Sane. And even after a 3:0 HT Wagner didn't change anything.

And this 8:0 wouldn't be the reason to sack him. But the whole second half of last season is definitely reason enough. They are playing like a relegation candidate for quite some time now. But I am wondering who would be a good replacement for Wagner?!

Well, Paderborn were really pathetic, they just can't get anything going offensively, what also was the issue last season. Kiel had no problems defending the 1-0 and deservedly won.

Paderborn has a tough upcoming schedule:

(H) Hamburg
(A) Heidenheim
(H) Hannover

If they keep on playing like they did today, they may find themselves at the bottom of the table after these games and then coach Baumgart might have to leave (whom they kept through the Bundesliga season and the relegation, because they like him. But sometimes it just doesn't work out no more).

Paderborn has to keep it's streak, you know? Relegating from the first Bundesliga and then instantly going down to the third league. A season without relegation or promotion is a no-go ...

Okay, enough of the joking. They were really bad today. Didn't expect that at all because besides Kilian and Gjasula they didn't really lose important players on the transfer market yet. They also kept their coach so I thought with that kind of consistency in the team and on the sideline they should have no problems today ...

Exciting matches yesterday, this went as many would have predicted/odds favour except for Manchester united and crystal palace where Crystal palace beat Manchester united.

Today's games

+ Southampton vs Tottenham: both lost their opening matches but arrival of bale would strengthen Tottenham, I predict a win for them.

+ Newcastle vs Brighton: a win for Newcastle

+ Chelsea vs Liverpool: the big game of today, the champions are at it against Chelsea it won't be an easy game, I would be going for a win for Liverpool with both team scoring.

+ Leicester vs Burnley: hard to pick/predict the winner from them, I predict both team scores.

Is Bale already playing today for the Spurs? Transfer was only confirmed yesterday, so I doubt that he'll be on the pitch today already. Probably some Covid-tests have to be taken first?! But even without Bale, I see Tottenham as the favourites in todays match.

I am most excited about Chelsea - Liverpool. As I already mentioned earlier, pretty sure we will see a lot of goals in that match. Both teams to score is a good call, condsidering the powerful offensive on both sides. A bet on over 2.5 or maybe even over 3.5 could also be an option. Liverpools defense looks a bit shaky since quite some time now (they haven't kept a clean sheet since the 34th matchday last season).

Quote
Kraken Financial, as a bank, is required by Wyoming law to maintain 100% reserves of its deposits of fiat currency at all times. If every client were to demand withdrawals of their fiat at the same moment, Kraken Financial would be able to fulfill each withdrawal immediately without regard to how many loans we had outstanding.

Now this begs the question: how the heck is Kraken supposed to make any money with a 100% reserve requirement? That means they can't loan any dollars out in a traditional fractional reserve savings-and-loan model.

In order to legally loan money, they would need to have surplus (>100%) reserves.

I was asking myself the same and found an interesting article about full-reserve banking here:

It seems like full-reserve banks indeed wouldn't be able to provide loans or overdrafts but would focus mainly on peer-to-peer payments, debit-card payments or wireing funds. They would invest all funds in zero maturity instruments, like loans, issued by the central banks. This way they are able to liquidate them at any point. And to generate revenue by providing only payments a full-reserve bank either has to introduce fees - which would drive customers away to other banks - or they need to get interest on their zero maturity instruments. And some central banks have started to pay interest on deposits. Not sure what of all this applies to Kraken though.

Hey, danke Dir.

i can't believe that werder bremen shows the same kind of performance as they did last season in the home games (halftime 0-2 vs hertha bsc berlin)
somehow they haven't learned anything... Embarrassed

In the back of my head I was already afraid that they this would happen but I was hoping to be proven wrong today. Why was I even expecting them to do better now this season?! There is nothing that has changed for Werder  fundamentally. Same coach, same team, no money for transfers ... Sure, Hertha has a completely different financial basis with their investor and we will have to get our points against weaker teams but still I am disappointed. That's going to be a long and hard season for Werder.

Yeah, COVID does not exist in the UK for financial football problems.

Only time will tell how the long-time effects of this crisis will look like. Right now, the Premier League still has a pre-COVID contract that rewards the teams with massive money from TV broadcasts. I doubt that they will get such a good deal next time, too. And when the stadiums can be filled completely again is also not clear at all.

What I find a bit hypocritical from Liverpool / Klopp is that only a week ago he criticized Man City and Chelsea for their transfer spendings ("For some clubs it seems to be less important how uncertain the future is because they are owned by countries, owned by oligarchs, and that is the truth." "We are a different kind of club." Source). And now they are going on a shopping spree themselves ...
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 19, 2020, 09:02:47 AM
What about Havertz? He is their most expensive signature so I am quite sure he will play as well. In the first match he was deployed on right wing (Ziyech position) and that is probably his best position if Chelsea continues to play 4-3-3 and they more or less have to after what they did in this transfer window. Maybe he can play as most attacking from the 3 players in midfield with Kante and Kovacic behind him. If Chelsea goes for that option Mount will probably lose lots of playing minutes.

Well, I'd say that Havertz isn't really a classical winger. Why not let him play as CAM or a box-to-box midfielder, on the 8 or 10? Imo that's the position that suits his skillset the most. Then you can have Ziyech as right winger, Pulisic on the left, Werner as CF, for example. I know that Chelsea has already other great central midfielders in their team but in that central position Havertz could perfectly shape and direct the game with his playmaking abilities while still posing a threat for the opponents defense.

I know we have some Bayern fans here - do you enjoy watching these matches ? I find it utterly boring to watch Bayern in Bundesliga, because when you know the result beforehand, it's just lame.

Swiched off after they scored their 5th goal. And I am still not sure if Bayern was that good or Schalke that bad ... Probably both but that match looked like it was a training match for Bayern or some irrelevant pre-season preparation match for Schalke. Seems like both teams are carrying their form over from the second half of last season. And for Schalke that's really bad. After this performance today they should probably already feeling some pressure in their first home match against Werder next week. Because their next away games won't be easy at all with Leipzig and Dortmund.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 18, 2020, 07:49:43 PM
The 2. Bundesliga has already started and finished their first two games at this evening. Regensburg – Nürnberg and Hamburg – Düsseldorf. The first game ends with a draw 1:1 and Hamburg won 2:1 against Düsseldorf. Düsseldorf scored in the 93rd minutes and I guess many fans have thought, Hamburg would lost its advantage again lie it was in the last season.

So lets start with the opening game from 1st Bundesliga.

Signing Terodde already paid off for Hamburg Grin He should've really started to do a service for ambitious teams from the second league which want to get promoted way earlier. This guy just loves the second Bundesliga. A one year contract with a bonus for him if he manages to score enough goals to get them promoted. Then move on to his next "project" ...

~snip~

All valid points Smiley It's maybe just a gut feeling from my side and players missing is often overrated imo, especially in Bundesliga, where the teams have deep rosters. And Stuttgart is overrated as well Grin With the team they had for last season in 2. Bundesliga, they should have fixed promotion in round 25, but they were struggling for a long time. They had their troubles in cup game at Rostock as well and Freiburg isn't too bad in away games in general; last season: 4-7-6, so they didn't lose 65% of their away games. Stuttgart should be slight favourite here, 2.25 is a bit too low.

Actually I wouldn't pick a side in that match either. Looking at the last matches between these two teams, I would probably go for BTTS - in 6 out of their last 8 matches we saw goals for both teams. Or even better could be a bet on over 2.5 - in 7 out of their last 8 matches we saw 3+ goals.

^  Hopefully..  Would def love to see Bale back at the EPL.  I think he only has a year left in his contract, right?  Daniel Levy could get him for less than what he sold him for.  Lolol.  Cheesy

Not surprising when you consider that he's now 7 years older than when Real bought him and that he isn't part of the team anymore at Real and also won't be as long as Zidane is coach. Real will be so relieved to be able to have him off their payroll. So if the Spurs are really interested and Bale agrees to a (probably) lower salary, I see a good chance for that comeback.
256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 16, 2020, 07:28:38 PM

Funny stuff about Chelsea on their last game was 2 out 3 goals was scored by defenders, its pretty rare though but it happens and most people probably wont expect Zouma to score . He scored one goal for the entire last season and he score one on the new season opening game Tongue

Their next game against Liverpool would be great. I would love to see their best squad against Liverpool. Im not going to lie but Chelsea stands on a great chance to win the Premier League this season ( hate to admit this but this is fact )

Now that you mentioned it ... ironic when you spend 170 million on your offense and then the defenders are stealing them their job  Grin

And yeah, their match against Liverpool is a must watch. Liverpools defense struggling like in the match vs Leeds but now against Chelseas star offense. And on the other side Salah, Mane, Firmino and Co.  ... I am not expecting this match to end without both teams scoring.
257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 16, 2020, 07:12:11 PM
Stuttgart otoh is too low, although they have a very good H2H record in this derby (didn't lose against Freiburg for 7 years).

I was also surprised when I first noticed that the bookmakers estimate the chance of a win for the Stuttgart team so much higher. But if you think more about it, it kind of makes sense to me.

Firstly because of Freiburgs poor history against the VFB (you already mentioned). Considering that it's an away game for Freiburg makes things look even worse for them (last win of Freiburg against the VFB in Stuttgart was even 9 years ago). Furthermore - I already mentioned it some time ago - Freiburg lost some of their key players with Schwolow, Waldschmidt and Koch ... and now also their new No. 1, Flekken, has suffered a serious injury. Will Uphoff play on Saturday or will Flekkens replacement, which was signed on short notice from Mainz, play already? Also Freiburg is still looking for a player that takes over Kochs place. Right now they only have Keitel and Abrashi for the place next to Höfler. And even if they make the transfer of Santamaria from SCO Angers perfect, he probably won't be an option for Saturday already.

Long story short ... I can now understand the odds for Stuttgart. Wouldn't really say that they are too low actually. Freiburg looks like they are still in the middle of finding their new team and time will have to tell if they manage to be as competitive as last season after this transfer summer.
258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 15, 2020, 07:47:53 PM
I don’t think he’s the right player to take them to the next level. They need a lot more, he’s good but not world class imo & that’s what they need to compete at the top again.

Who would you consider a player that helps to "take them to the next level"? And what would you say would such a player cost? Last time they bought such players (who were supposed to take them to the next level) they wasted hundreds of millions. Money, that Barca is missing now.

In my opinion the best thing for them right now is to make transfers like Depay's and not to chase the absolute star players again. That gives them much more room financially. The team needs to be strengthened in several positions.
259  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [LISTE] DeFi-Scams Sammelthread on: September 15, 2020, 07:26:06 PM
[...]

Also du musst definitiv selektieren.

Source: https://twitter.com/fomosaurus/status/1304843376223752192

Grin (https://cointelegraph.com/news/defi-meme-coin-hotdog-dumps-99-9-in-hours-after-launch)
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 15, 2020, 06:12:37 PM
I was less than impressed with Havertz, I know it’s only one game but he’s massively overpriced. I do like Werner though, I think he’ll be great in the PL. Chelsea should compete for the title but I don’t think they’ll win it.

That's the problem that comes with these high transfer sums. People are expecting from such expensive players to instantly function in a new team and that they will start to decide games just by themselves right from the beginning. Fact is, Harvertz isn't even in London for two full weeks and this was his first official match for them. Sure, his performance was underwhelming, but give him some more time before you are jumping to conclusions.

Lampard has spent over 200 million pounds in one transfer window. He should be expected to compete immediately, he’s not going to be allowed to fail, he spent loads. If he fails he will be sacked.

You sound like they are on a losing streak already. They won their first match! All good. Or were you expecting them to completely dominate all other teams from now on?

Chelsea spend massive money on the transfer market. It is quite normal that a team with so many new faces needs some time to settle in. Time until you know the routes of your new team mates and until combinations are rehearsed.
