The claim is: over 0.043 BTC at current rates[~57.5k] per user, per week.

After the ChipMixer gang sends all the Russians and Turks to Madagascar, they will have achieved their goal of monopolizing the forum - after all, what other reason would they have to hire so many users to spread their website across the website? It couldn't possibly be to target any real users: who in the world would ever want to willingly donate their inputs to a mixing service? This forum is just a shell platform to host the next criminal hub of activities, of course.

One thing we need to understand is that they aren't going to spend so much money on the signature campaign if only innocent and fair guys were using the mixer, it is quite obvious they get massive income from hackers and scammers which is ultimately paid to the signature participants. Is it impossible for whales to use coins for privacy? If I had hundreds of Bitcoins in a single input, wouldn't I want to split them before spending them so that I don't tell my local coffee shop that I have millions of dollars available? "it is quite obvious" hinges on your preconceptions.
One more: Those "hackers and scammers" that use the service would probably want to mix the coins multiple times across multiple services and they wouldn't bother donating to ChipMixer - which is how they make their income (+ the up-to-0.001 cutoffs, probably). |

On the topic of account compromises, it would be wise for the forum to require multi-factor authentication. Until then, I’d recommend a very strong and random password not used for other accounts. You can stake your address or PGP key on the forum and sign messages to confirm your cryptographic identity. In fact, communicated through PGP-encrypted messages is ideal for truly private communication. |

Take note of ALL your settings, as it's also easy to give out your phone number if you are not careful with contacts and such. Key privacy points include removing the whole "add by phone number". Someone brute-forcing phone contacts can easily harvest Telegram users and number connections.
I would suggest turning everything in the "Privacy and Security" section to Nobody and (if unavailable) My contacts. Unless you are going to constantly network with people publicly, protect your privacy. One Telegram tool that is useful is @userinfobot: I will sometimes forward messages here to verify users. |

But, if nothing else, this latest episode of whack-a-mole has taught us is that the system can identify scammers and their alts rather quickly. Took a while to see it, in my opinion. Bear in mind the negatives started coming in after you had a half-dozen worth of threads pop up about Adkinsbet, and after they ignore them with unsatisfactory subsequent replies. If finding the scam through that mess constitutes as quickness then I suppose the new forum will arrive very soon. If the claims about the owners being the same as malubit are true, then you can probably expect another one of these sites to pop up in a few months. Bitcointalk is free advertising to anyone who wants it - double-edged sword. |

Someone messaged me on Telegram claiming I won the auction. I'm pretty sure I just got scammed. They asked me to pick an escrow. I picked SatsLife. I think what happened is they quickly created a fake account and I was too stupid to realize this. I sent the money to the "escrow". Then the accounts all disappeared from Telegram. I'm shaking right now because I fell for such an obvious scam. Really sorry to hear this. Unfortunately this place is absolutely crawling with scumbag scammers and you’ve got to really be vigilant. When you’re new here it’s easy to make mistakes, so don’t take it too hard on yourself. We live and learn. & to the scammer..you’ll get yours you pos. Karma is a bitch. What kind of an absolute scumbag decides to scam a charity auction? |
