1021  Other / Meta / Re: Looks like this guy has been banned forever - the reason ? on: July 05, 2020, 07:04:18 PM
but newbie may not know about it, so they create a new topic. And I think it is not a very serious crime to lead to the ban. Is this ban really worth it?
Giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that they are a newbie, you clearly know that they haven't read the rules. If they have read the rules, then they have broken them willingly and thus deserve the ban. If they haven't read the rules, then they're probably going to come back with another account, evade the ban, and then break the rules all over again.

Plus...

it had only 11 posts there

They probably got the message when all their posts were removed.

Perhaps this time, they'll read the rules. Not like the whole "no ban evading" has stopped anyone on the forum. Roll Eyes
1022  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Three basic Market Analysis to Becoming a Successful trader for Newbies on: July 05, 2020, 06:59:57 PM
I have never heard of this sentimental analysis before in my life. Perhaps it would be better to fall under the umbrella of your 'fundamental analysis' section, since mapping it to a type of news would make some sense. It's kind of like guesswork, though: trying to study whales and predict what trades they're going to make?

Maybe only in smaller market caps, but any time you're trying to speculate, you would probably be better off doing technical analysis and reading over news regarding the market. Sure, we have market manipulation here and there, but trading based on that is one sure-fire way of getting manipulated yourself. If they know you know, can't they change their strategy? Wink
1023  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit begging or complain on: July 05, 2020, 06:54:49 PM
Jesus, even a brief glance at his post history shows that he's a full-on shitposter and my guess is that he's not a member of bitcointalk because he's a fan of bitcoin but rather because it represents a work-from-home job.  And looking at his trust, it would appear he's cheating at that anyway.  No merits from me.
My ignored boards make viewing his post history return 5 results. Any time that happens, it's a bad sign... no wonder he didn't get merit if the user spent all their time in the Bounties section. What were they expecting, someone to say 'wow, nice Twitter reports!' ?

Roll Eyes

Well, those one-liners in the sections that I haven't ignored are sure to be removed soon.
1024  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit begging or complain on: July 05, 2020, 07:06:41 AM
This is what we call "plausible deniability" when they do not directly say something but rather equivocate it through dog-whistling. Even if you complain about the act that they are actually performing, they can easily say "that's not my intention" and thereby have a claim which dissolves them of responsibility.

I don't think anyone who actually deserves merit will PM others about earning merit, or their lack thereof.
1025  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [REPORT] Hhampuz on: July 04, 2020, 02:40:13 PM
Close this thread. It was my mistake.
Lock button is in the bottom-left, you can close the thread yourself.
1026  Other / Meta / Re: Its really getting annoying on: July 03, 2020, 06:50:02 PM
Which threads are these, and who exactly is your friend?

How many times are all of these users' friends going to keep making threads for them when they can just as easily create the threads themselves?
1027  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsler is scame took my life nearly on: July 03, 2020, 06:19:23 PM
U can cheack the probability  how many loses in row can come on85%? You are just stuck on your site to speak even nonsense things
If the probability is non-zero, then the result is possible.

If the result is possible, then you have no basis upon which to call it a scam. Are you denying the possibility of 25 reds in a row? Are you saying that the probability is 0%?

The potential number of losses for any chance of winning that is less than 100% has no maximum. When you gamble with a house edge, eventually you will lose. That is a result of basic mathematics, something that you repeatedly seem to deny.
1028  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsler is scame took my life nearly on: July 03, 2020, 06:10:57 PM
No ots not about what you thinking broh. As i told you you are one of the bitsler support guy i know. My point is the bitsler is scame how is 25 reds possible at 85 chances. As hole try to understand what i m saying
How are 25 reds possible at 85% chance?

Well, you lose one. Then you lose another. Then you lose another. Then you lose another.

Why do you assume that at a certain point, you're guaranteed a win? That's not how probability works. You could even lose 10000 times in a row: it's not very probable but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared for it to happen.
1029  Economy / Reputation / Re: WHERE IS TMAN? for 1 month of inactivity 🤔🤔 on: July 03, 2020, 05:57:53 PM
I started seeing a lot of newbies exposing obvious scams and ofcourse starting a trust farm account, just as Tman was just as he is probably making some of these accounts.
Extraordinary claim: TMAN is probably making some of these accounts.
Justifiable evidence:

Could it be that the newbies are actually just newbies?
Why say things just to say things?

Y'know, it's possible that theymos is running an underground dark ring of black market trading and thus the DefaultTrust network is filled with his cronies that establish the external drug network, thus patching his central operation to an international level thereby facilitating the addiction of millions of individuals.
1030  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsler is scame took my life nearly on: July 03, 2020, 05:46:09 PM
Its truelly not possible to take that amount back coz they are there setting to scame us so why wll tehy fund back it. And other this is you are from bitsler suport thats why u talking like this bro. U didnt lose thats why its eassy for you. Think 85% wining chamces and 25 reds what kind of fkn algorithm  is this
Answer the question.

Is it possible to lose 25 times in a row?

Here: I'll make it easy for you.

The answer is YES.

Why are you complaining about something that happened to you, when you know full well that it could happen? That's like me taking my dick out in public, slapping a cop in the face and then complaining that I got arrested for assaulting an officer and public indecency.
1031  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsler is scame took my life nearly on: July 03, 2020, 05:27:19 PM
You are not the man of your wrds at all bro. U got them on 2x and i got 25 or 26 reds on 85% mean like 1.15x.they was probably  watching my bets coz i just deposited there and gone. Amd at the last they says sorry we can close your account but we cant help you any.
85% chance is 85%. Do you mean to say that it's impossible to get 25 losses in a row at 85%, or are you just a belligerent and indignant degenerate gambler that tossed away their life savings and is now looking for any and all excuses to try and wring that amount back?

Seems to me like you're tossing shit into the turbine and trying to catch some flies with the backsplash.
1032  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsler is scame took my life nearly on: July 03, 2020, 04:09:27 PM
Well your beloved friends delet my account very urgently when i says refund me or delelt my account i dont want to use your site. They says are you sure you want to delet your account?. And ofc i did answer hell yeah i want. Coz u know when u lose life time save in 26 or 27 rolls with 85 chances with 1 green. What wll you fell ?
Did you ever consider that there was a possibility for you to lose a bet?

OK. So if you could lose one bet, could it be possible for you to lose two bets?
OK. So if you could lose two bets, could it be possible for you to lose three bets?
...
and so on.

If you, for some reason, think that at any point you could not lose x bets in a row, then please provide a justifiable reason for doing so. If you are unable to make this rationalization, then you should eventually come to the reality that you were unlucky and lost that many times in a row.

Who gambles with their life savings? One of the core pieces of advice for people who are using any amount of money is to consider any amount they wager already lost. That way, you won't be suddenly shocked when one of the two outcomes (that being losing rather than winning) happens.
1033  Other / Meta / Re: Quiz: History on Bitcointalk on: July 02, 2020, 05:43:16 PM
The whole "Bitcoin and me" question could have used some additional context.

Just dropping "Bitcoin and me" without stating that it's a thread or that you were supposed to choose the author of the thread is incredibly unfriendly in terms of UX.
1034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The term and word (free coins) is completely wrong on: July 02, 2020, 05:39:15 PM
Faucets require a ton of time and very repetitive work in order to receive "free" money, to the point were it can be considered a very bad job. If the reward/effort ratio was much higher, then they could have been considered free coins.
This is when we get pedantic and try to work out the rigor of what threshold of reward:effort is required to deem the term free. Once we get to this point, semantics and linguistics break down into pathetic squabbles over definitions. I'll stick to my "no monetary cost" definition and you can stick to your reward/effort ratio definition and we'll have a good time.

After all, does something stop being free when I have to put in a few extra joules of work into it, or does it just require a bit more effort? Wink
1035  Economy / Services / Re: CONTEST: design loyce.club home page on: July 02, 2020, 01:13:53 PM
I hope we don't go overboard with needless animations and "swoosh-ping" effects. (https://moneroworld.com/whysougly.html)

I would rather have a page that I can load quickly and easily than a page that looks like another blog template that was shoehorned in simply because the site-owner wanted a "modern look" rather than focusing on functionality.
1036  Other / Meta / Re: Why is there a permanent ban? on: July 02, 2020, 09:58:59 AM
No I am not trolling. I am seriously considering quitting this forum if the appeal does not go through.
Is this supposed to be your appeal? It's looking more like you trying to swindle your way out of the situation via a number of bad excuses and complaints rather than an actual appeal.

It makes no sense at all. Yeah there were warnings, no I did not buy my account.
Warnings for what? Insubstantial post quality? If this is true, then your account was most likely banned for spam. You had four tries to get it right: how bad were your posts? I rarely see anyone getting banned for spam, so you must be at the bottom of the barrel despite your "years of work".

I don't see the need to post my account ID, you will just attack me on there instead, and I dont see a reason to state the ban reason as it's private information.
You need to understand what is happening right now. Some random account shows up in Meta, says their friend is banned, backpedals to say "no it's actually me", and then refuses to share any information regarding the ban. Keep rolling those boulders, Sisyphus. You may well reach the summit of ignorance yet.
1037  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it’s important to avoid telling everyone about your crypto holdings on: July 02, 2020, 09:54:42 AM
In my country there is a saying that "if you have money but don't know how to keep it, you will look like a three year old kid holding a bag of gold going to the market".
Telling others about the amount of cryptocurrency you hold will likely bring you unnecessary danger. Bad guys will try to steal your money, which can even bring danger to you and your family.
If we draw from simplicity, you wouldn't tell random people that you won the lottery, nor that you hold precious metals or high-value stocks. The same should be applied to any financial instrument, bitcoin or not.

The criminals do not sleep, they seek any means of deception. And if someone actively talks about his income in the crypto industry, then this once again provokes scammers to become interested in his personality.
Considering the esoteric nature of bitcoin, there are a number of quite involved scammers in the industry, and I would even say that the ratio of scammers to regular users must be higher in the space considering the fact that there are no chargebacks on non-centralized blockchains. Users have no scam protection but their own intelligence, and with increasingly advanced accessibility options for new crypto users, the number of potential scams grow quickly.
1038  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to obtain merit on: July 02, 2020, 09:47:38 AM
Why are you interested in increasing your rank, and what will it do for you? Is it because you want to earn money on the forum, or is it for some other reason?

The thing with merit is that you shouldn't have to seek it out if you're the type of person who will receive merit. If you are merely constructing high-quality replies for merit as a means rather than acquiring merit as a byproduct of your good posts, then that will be a problem. Especially given that certain ilk have nothing better to do than post spam across the forum to collect their signature campaign payments (and that we have new users aiming to direct themselves towards that path), I will heavily advise against thinking of the forum as a financial collectathon.
1039  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to recognize a scam on: July 02, 2020, 09:20:42 AM
This kind of fraud also happens a lot. Promoting their initial users with cheap discount transactions, some even free. Then the user gives positive feedback. It will be used by them as bait to catch other users very easily and of course with larger transactions, when they get a lot of money, they will just disappear. Pretending to be hacked and having trouble is a classic reason they always use.
You'll see a few exchanges or casinos do this, where they'll provide a bonus upon deposit and then just prevent you from withdrawing.

Honestly, though? I would much rather learn from being scammed for a small amount than to have never been scammed and to have never educated myself on preventing scams. Of course, it's possible for many people to avoid scams their entire life, but since they are dynamic and develop constantly as people learn to avoid them, I think it's better to familiarize yourself with the structure of a scam and then learn to overcome that. Learn the scammer mindset, and keep your money tight.

After all, any time you're not sending out money or downloading something external, the risk of losing money is pretty much nil.
1040  Other / Meta / Re: Why is there a permanent ban? on: July 02, 2020, 09:06:33 AM
I've yet to receive any advice on how to go about appealing my ban. Is it allowed to transfer any of my merit or status from my banned account to a new account? I put years of work and it makes no sense for my to lose all my progress for a simple mistake. There must be a way to contact an admin for a transfer or something to work. I can't accept that all this is lost over nothing. If this account can be reinstated with the stats of my previous account than I can drop the whole appeal process and move on
What is your account's name? A simple mistake?

Tell me: did you get warned for any previous rule-breaking activity, or was this immediate?
Did you plagiarize content, or did you instead break some other rule?

Did you buy the account?
And no, you won't transfer anything to a new account. This has to be a troll, right?
