241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Time of bounty on: May 04, 2018, 07:46:25 PM
It differs from bounty to bounty but most of them specify the period of campaigns in the bouty thread itself. Mostly it's till the end of ICO because after that they don't require much investors. You should keep yourself updated with bounty threads to lookout for any changes made in the campaign duration by campaign managers.
242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should cryptocurrencies be held for a long time or used to pay? on: May 04, 2018, 07:42:55 PM
It really depends on your needs. If there is no urgent to spend your bitcoins now you may wait and you might get the same product for lesser coins if the price rises. I would advice not to cash out all from your crypto investments and use only a percentage of it when required.
243  Other / Meta / Re: View threads by OP chronological order on: May 02, 2018, 07:51:40 PM
any chance we can filter ANN threads by the date creation instead of the last date posted
If you would have spent 2 minutes to read the replies posted above you would have already got the answer !
By Default the threads are sorted by last date posted but to sort by creation date use this :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0;sort=first_post;desc
this would work for Board No. "24.0" (Meta)
244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Posting Tutorials on: May 02, 2018, 07:29:58 PM
When the time I postes this I didn't see any image. I was thinking if this is normal.
My post were I did not see any photo
Awesome! Thanks for giving a tutorial for this and I'm just new here and saw this now I know about the uses of this [img.]http://i67.tinypic.com/sgtlj4.png[./img]
(No images for newbies and I can only post images if I'm a copper member.)
Thanks for this!
This one when I go to my recent post and saw this image. Everyone please act.

You should have google searched or read forum rules and restrictions before asking such redundant question.
The above quoted post clearly states that NO images for Newbies (which you clearly are). In order to post images urgently you may buy copper membership here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote or wait for your account to rank up.
245  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help Pls?! I didn't get my Trust Rating up? on: May 02, 2018, 05:00:04 AM
---
I repeat. I am not 100% sure.
From the screenshot as well as OP's trust page, as  the trust rating is in bold black text, so it is Positive Trust Rating.
For Neutral it's without bold and for Negative it's in Red Bold text.

Coming back to OP, the user "SilentMining" is not in your trusted users list nor in Default Trust List that's why your trust would not be displayed Green to most of the users on the forum.

...
Side note: I've somewhat forgotten whether referral links are allowed in signatures. I think they are(?).

Here's what BadBear has to say :

just to clarify... i am allowed to put my ref link in my signature and suggest users use it in my main post?

Do not make topics or replies just to share your referral link. Whether it's in your sig, avatar, personal message, profile, within the post itself, or tattooed on your forehead is irrelevant.

Edited for clarity.

Edit : achow101's comment :

Nowhere. Affiliate links (also known as referral links) are not allowed to be in a post anywhere on this forum. You can however have them in your signature.

249  Local / India / Re: Project Translations in Hindi is a waste of money! on: April 25, 2018, 04:32:38 AM
I too believe that legendster is right. Most crypto users in India are those that use technologies like mobiles or computers which are predominantly in English only. I too am comfortable in reading such threads in English itself because in hindi technical terms like "स्मार्ट अनुबंध" for "Smart Contract", "टेलीग्राम समूह" for "Telegram Group" , "सामग्री निर्माण" for "Content Creation" ,etc...

I think as most information we get online is in English, especially for crypto, so when I encounter Hindi threads I have to translate most of those big hindi words in my mind to understand them.

And also, WTF this means ??

I don't think anyone even uses such words in common speaking, we mostly use Hi-nglish (Hindi+English)  Cheesy
250  Economy / Services / Re: [ENDED]BITPLAY SIGNATURE /AFFILIATE CAMPAIGN | PM eth add. [3 weeks] [ENDED] on: April 24, 2018, 04:55:35 PM
Hello all, I am very sorry for the delay in payment(token). As at now, I can't tell the exact "immediately" bitplay announced here. I have asked them to pay for the people who have submitted their eth wallet address as they said they will pay immediately but they once again, have changed their mind and that they will pay after half of the people submit their eth wallet with the complaints of gas fees.
Please kindly pm me with your eth wallet address and let me update your details if not yet done.

The actions of bitplay towards this campaign I think, is a true reflection of their inward plans towards the project. They will never have something for its backers.
Until they pay all participants and buyback their tokens in btc, be careful when dealing with them.

According to OP :

Quote
PAYMENT (in btc):
Legendary/ Hero: 0.012/week[30 Slots] full
Senior Member: 0.01/week [30 Slots] full
Full Member: 0.008/week [22 Slots] full
That amounts to 0.836BTC or $7807. But now they are saying that they don't even have 1 dollar to pay that "GAS" Fee ?? They, being in a crypto business, should have no problem in buying/getting such small amount of ETH from exchanges.
But this would not happen because they had intended to scam from the start itself !!
251  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion : Merit Jail on: April 24, 2018, 04:39:19 PM
Rank                          Required merit{ every 25 post or maybe less}
Newbie                               1
Jr Member                          2
Member                             3
Full Member                       10
Sr. Member                        15
Hero Member                     20

This is a nice suggestion but we may have to work on the "Required Merit" because with such high differences for different ranks mostly Hero or Sr. Members would land into Merit Jail !
I accept that generally post quality of higher member might be more but making it 20 times difficult for Hero than for Newbie is not feasible.

that is only my suggestion, we can reduce it whatever admin or moderator think. We are not banning, just prevent to post for some days only.
I guess 1 for Newbie and 5 for Hero might be enough.

... member is not allowed to post for 7 days or more....
*except for posting in Merit Jail section.

Btw, considering this system in place, what would happen if user deletes his posts ? One might do it to remain out of jail, but his activity would suffer.
252  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion : Merit Jail on: April 24, 2018, 03:47:23 PM
Few questions arise in my mind :

1. Would there be further sub-categories or it would be a mess made up of posts which would have else belonged different categories ?

2. Would the certain merit requirement be time based, say minimum to get x merit per month, or total merit of particular user ? If it's the first case, then users who might not be that active or temporarily not posting for long might also suffer even though their posts be of high quality.
253  Economy / Services / Re: [ENDED]BITPLAY SIGNATURE /AFFILIATE CAMPAIGN | PM eth add. [3 weeks] [ENDED] on: April 22, 2018, 02:41:52 PM
Not hiring an escrow is a different issue and paying in your own tokens is completely another !
You didn't escrow the btc, ok, but why can't you just pay those btc that would had been allotted for the campaign (and would had been escrowed) ??
Just pay the participants for the 1 or 2 weeks of time they spent to promote your project !!

It's nice @OP that you created this thread, but the forum has already a detailed guide to SMF tags and much more here :

In future you can refer to it by going to :

256  Other / Meta / Re: My friend introduce me to btc. At first I was hesitant..... on: April 21, 2018, 03:17:14 PM
I just thought what would happen if similar situation happened in real life. People roaming about and asking similar questions to each other in broken english and getting same repetitive answers. As @hilarious said it would definitely be mind-numbing.

Btw, I would have to stop introducing crypto to my friends or their posts might end up here. /s
257  Economy / Services / Re: [paused]BITPLAY SIGNATURE /AFFILIATE CAMPAIGN | FULL MEMBER + [3 weeks] [Paused] on: April 21, 2018, 02:26:50 PM
They've started deleting posts regarding the escrow and signature campaign on telegram. I've passed the first week and will be removing the signature now. If (by some miracle) they actually escrow, please pm me and I'll return the signature and avatar. Good luck with these guys.
Same with me. I posted "No escrow yet" with a sticker and I was kicked out of the group in a matter of seconds.
I am too removing my signature as the campaign is already on pause and I don't expect it to come back with a legitimate escrow.
258  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk slow or just me? on: April 21, 2018, 11:48:37 AM
I am also receiving different error messages from cloudflare recently.
Here is one of them :

Is the forum under attack or some problem with site's certificates ?
259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unable to reply or pm members for thread design on: April 20, 2018, 11:23:52 AM
If the message you receive states regarding posting limit then it is because you are a newbie with 1 activity and you have to wait 6 minutes to post a newbie message.
Another possibility is that the user that you are the messages to has enabled the Block all messages by newbie option, which is activated by default by the forum to prevent spam pm's.
Better to use telegram/skype for seamless chat.
260  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New Phishing Scams on MEW and Coinbase..Be Safe!!! on: April 20, 2018, 08:37:36 AM
Theres a big possibility that this might be happening, but I suspect, maybe these scanmers are collecting email addresses that has been displayed anywhere in the internet from the people who actively joins discussion about cryptocurrency.

I haven't posted my email anywhere and I'm very careful when I use it. Yet, I received login attempts in some exchanges.

I too sometimes receive those login attempts and everytime they are from different locations. But they can't seem to get pass the 2fA email verification.

I encountered a trick on the internet many months back in which you could check from where your email might have been leaked.
While registering your account on other sites, instead of using your email, say abc@gmail.com you could use abc+bitcointalk@gmail.com if you are registering on bitcointalk. I think it works only for gmail and anything after '+' sign doesn't matter and you would still receive email to your inbox.
So whenever you receive such login attempts from hacked database or any spam mails you would know which site actually leaked your details.
