As the world cup gets closer to start time my guess is that the publicity will have an effect on price.  More news more buying.  Literally makes zero sense but that's the crypto world we live in right now lol.
2422  Economy / Gambling / Re: A New Era for Betting - (After Corona Circumstances) on: August 19, 2022, 03:47:21 PM
After the global epidemic that started in 2019, there were problems not only in football but also in all sports branches. However, sports branches that appealed to the audience live, such as football, were more affected.

Even if normalization begins towards the end of last season, we are getting ready to enter a season that we can call normal.

In this process, especially for football, I think that the big teams lose more power in general. Because supporter support is one of the most important criteria. This season, we will have a more normal season and I think we can watch better matches. Of course, we may also be entering a more enjoyable period for betting.

Yeah the pandemic era with limited or no fans definitely had an effect on the sport and made it difficult to bet, not just (soccer) but all other sports too.  Having home and road games with fans present versus no on ethere has a huge effect on the outcome.  Glad that whole period is over with and we are almost back to normal at this point.
2423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: August 19, 2022, 03:44:32 PM
Portugal cannot continue to rely on Ronaldo, the 2022 world cup will be the last appearance in this most prestigious event. Along with the decline in Ronaldo performance, at this time world cup Portugal was not included in the nominations for the team that was counted as one of the semifinalist candidates.
Maybe Portugal can qualify from the group stage, the obstacles of teams like Uruguay, Ghana and South Korea are still able to be passed by Portugal, but I doubt Portugal can go further in the next round.
Do you know one thing about football team. It's that no matter the level of a player they have as the best they does not depend on the player.and secondly, it's not one player that determine the success of a particular team rather it's a collective effort of the team that brings the success and jubilation by the end of match. I don't really like to predict the failure of team or people that will emerge. What i concentrate on is the total number players who is in that team.
We all know this World Cup is Cristiano Ronaldo's last World Cup. He has worked very hard for his country's football He is currently in charge of leading his team But if Cristiano Ronaldo retires from football, Portugal and the world of football will surely lose a bright star. I don't think there will be another Ronaldo coming out of Portugal.  Because Ronaldo is only one.

Maybe not right away but every era has its stars.  He's had a historic run but there certainly can come a player who takes Portugal to a place where cristiano couldn't.  I know it's not a one player thing but every world cup champ has its iconic stars.  Never say never.
2424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 19, 2022, 03:41:21 PM
So the biggest NBA news today is Lebron James' 2-year contract extension worth a staggering $97.1 million. He now reclaimed the highest paid NBA player in the league and at the same time the highest total salary earnings in the history of the NBA which is half a billion dollars. The amazing achievement of an already 37-year-old baller. But we will see if his dream of becoming a champion once again becomes a reality. Many legendary veterans before like Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki sacrificed huge portions of their salaries in order for the team to create openings and be able to compete at the top. The Lakers though is a different team since it is one of the richest teams in the NBA so maybe they are willing to pay an additional luxury tax of more than 100% of its players' salaries just like the Warriors.

LeBron has had a phenomenal career, and I'm really impressed that he can still show great results to qualify for such a huge contract. Honestly, I don't think there has been any other player over the age of 37 who could also qualify for that kind of paycheck. By the way, LeBron will be 40 years old after the end of the 24/25 season, and it's even sad to realize as it means this contract will probably be the last or penultimate one of his career.

I guess that's what we are expecting of him, and could retire as one of the Lakers great, he did bring one ring to them in the bubble. And this kind of player are just one of a kind, and if there is really a freak in NBA it could be Lebron's staying power, the way he molded himself, his body of course to be that competitive can still jump and dunk the ball like he was still a rookie. It will be interesting if he can really play with his son because that is his dream before he finally hang up his jersey in the next 2 years.

I'm of the opinion that the Lakers win in the bubble is like a championship with an asterisk next to it.  To be a laker great the fans need to be up close and invested in the run a championship team has.  There was no juice to that championship.  Big shots in front of thousands, that's when fans get fully invested.  My thought is he knows it too and wants a championship in front of the LA crowd.  Then and only then do I think he becomes "a laker great".
2425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 17, 2022, 07:33:26 PM
While the other fans are teasing each other, their idols are having fun and just fun! They're friends in real life but there are also the others that are not friends and it's just all about the career that they have.
I am part of that who thinks Lebron and Draymond were not on good terms. Now it's all clear. It's all just their competitive side when the whistle sounds.
Yup.

That's just all about the competition and whatever reaction they show for each match that they have to each other, it's all because they're in a competition and they're just doing their jobs to make their team wins.

I wish to see more of this and those LBJ haters will appreciate that he's a person like this and if they will still hate him, I hope it's just in the court and not with him as a person.

All the real hate left after the 90s.  These guys are all cool with each other.  They make more money for each other when fans actually think they are rivals and get into it.  It's part of the show.  With that being said Lakers dropped a nice bucket of money in lebrons lap today

What the fuck is wrong with me?  Here I am trying remain transparent and ethical and moral by leaving the funds in the escrow address, untouched for 22 weeks.  Just imagine how many premier league matches I could squander that money on, then be left to pay you guys out of my own pocket...   Cheesy Cheesy

Should have demanded everyone pay in Monero...

... that way you could convert it to ETH and YOLO into CryptoDickButts, Sea Hams, and some other pretty sweet NFTs.

So when's our draft date? And we still need for the league to be created, right?

If I forgot to vote for something, just assign my vote to the current majority on unresolved issues, thanks.

Wow lol.  I just googled and those are really a thing 😂

Seriously crypto has to be some sort of social exercise and we are a falling, or winning still unsure.  Then I looked at the price of cryptodickbutts and couldn't stop passing myself.

Yep I'd Def take the buy in money and Yolo right into that 😅

Thought this was funny & relevant

Wonder what he did... would have been pretty hard to f it up if he had just bought BTC in Sept and paid everybody out in Jan... would have been down about 20%, max.

That account is a great twitter follow BTW. If you didn't know, the idea is people write their crypto stories to the account and the worst (or best) ones get published anonymously.

That's hilarious but I'd like to say knowing most people in ff like to gamble, I'm sure there are even worse stories about what managers do with the money.  I'd say probably a bunch of managers are paying out of pocket by the end of the year lol. At least this guy has probably killed it in years past.
2428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The journey so far on: August 15, 2022, 05:35:44 PM
Hi everyone, what do you think I should add to my list? I have been mining for year now and I have got all the coins I want so what do you think I should add to the list? Here are what I have already and the coins that aren't PoW also are mined through unminable, forget ETH as I have enough

1. Gala games
2. Ecash
3. Flux
4. Shiba

Do you not consider bitcoin one of the main coins you should hold?  Honestly I'm surprised when people list these complete garbage coin lists and forget to list bitcoin.  Was that by design or just sheer ignorance?  Honest question.

Most likely reason is that bitcoin is just way too expensive. There are some people that think you can only buy a complete coin and can't buy partial amounts similar to stocks. So most people cant afford to spend $25K on a single coin.

Another reason is that people want to make >500% gains. How much can you make off bitcoin now? It might double or triple. If you invest $500 into bitcoin you will only make $1000 profit if it triples. People want to invest $500 and come out with $50,000. So they invest in all these small cap projects.

Agreed, the misconception that bitcoin is "too expensive" is kind of funny.  I'd say most of these low cap coins that are pennies or less are way to expensive right now.  I'd like to think there is still more then 10 fold gains to be made from bitcoin still with low or limited downside risk.  Kind of a no Brainerd at this point but to each their own.
2429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in Moderation, Pros can out weigh its Cons in Financial and Health? on: August 15, 2022, 04:09:12 AM
Honestly there is no going in moderation.  For the most part people can't stop thselves when they are going.  Gbling in moderation means that someone actually has control over themselves.  I've known enough people who gamble to know that gambling in moderation is nothing more than just a saying.
2430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can crypto go lower than 95% on: August 15, 2022, 04:06:48 AM
Most the favourite projects I have in mind to buy have already lose 80% to 90% of their value, if you are in my shoe would you start buying? I did try to buy piece by piece like 20$ to 30$ range but I still don't know if I am doing the right thing... I have these projects in mind

1. Theta
2. Sad to
3. Lukso
4. Mina Protocol
5. Layer zero
6. 0x
7. Woo Network

But looking for good entry per dollar

Why not start right with bitcoin though?  Do you have bitcoin and these are just some other coins you are looking at or do you just honestly want to lose all your money lol?  Half kidding but seriously...do you have bitcoin on this list?

My portfolio is a wide net. 50% BTC & ETH. It's fascinating watching altcoin behavior in this downward spiral. Some unexpected surprises... Braintrust 😉. I haven't invested more than I'm willing to lose. Though down about 55% I'm in for the long term. HODL !!!

Honestly you are one of the minority here.  I agree just sink your teeth into some strong holds Luke bitcoin and eth, yet people never learn.  Hopefully ypu are adding to your stack as well.  Hodl is a great strategy, cost averaging is an even better one.
2433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: August 15, 2022, 04:00:22 AM
Weirdly enough they just moved the first game of the world cup so that Qatar can play the first game all by itself.  I'm all for moving the game but for the people who have tickets I wonder if that's an issue for them.  I guess there is enough time to adjust any schedules you have but still.  Hate when they set a schedule and then bump it for no reason other than to change a game time.
2434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet (UPDATE) + fixed match on: August 15, 2022, 03:58:00 AM
thanks for the responses everyone, I am placing bets using my own funds now I just needed to win a few big bets first and both of the matches I posted won Smiley

So are you up and you started putting bets against your own money then?  Much less stressful playing with your own money then gaming away a loaned amount of money right?  Hope you do well, cheers!
2435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 15, 2022, 03:55:34 AM
Seems like everything has been a bit calm later on the trading front. I think teams may be settling in with what they plan to enter training camp with. The season is just right around the corner so it seems like the Nets aren’t going to be making any deals that don’t interest them. We may see a KD and Kyrie team with Ben Simmons to start the year. Talk about awkward…

Honestly who knows.  There could easily be a situation in which they are working out a deal right now, and on the flipside it can be cold as ice.  I don't think the situation is or will be awkward at all, just normal nba business during the offseason honestly.  Ayers always say it...in the end its just a business.  So if they end up on the court together I expect them 3 to dominate a ton of games together.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 15, 2022, 03:52:30 AM
Bitcoin might begin pumping to $30k and I would hate to pay more in dollar terms if we can send open payments starting next week.

Bitcoin has been pumping lately, so yeah I hope it goes to $30k. Grin

The escrow address has been sent via mass-PM to all participants to preserve a modicum of privacy.  I have no objections to posting it in public if that's preferred.  Feel free to send payment whenever you feel like, but let's try to get payment in before the draft.  The next order of business is deciding on a date for the live draft.  I liked waiting until the Friday before the season starts, hopefully that works for everyone.

Did any of you guys watch the 9ers/Green Bay game last night?  It was fun to watch Trey Lance get some significant playing time.  I'm a bit less apprehensive about him starting for us this year after watching him last night.  I have a feeling we're going to be a measurable amount better at the QB position this year.

All good I like the Friday before the first games.  Gives the least amount of time ending up with a player on the ir before week one even starts.

And yeah I seen parts of the game but I wouldn't put too much stock into a preseason game.  For MLB it's kind of how the players will play but football, it's way different, most of the guys on the field in preseason won't even see the light of day during the regular season.
2437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 11, 2022, 08:31:47 PM
GIANTS on in 4 hours whoo hoo finally.

Seriously?  Shit I better get crackin' if I want to get home in time.  It's been one of those frustratingly unproductive days at work.  Hell, the whole week seems to have been like this.  Running around busy as hell, and getting next to nothing done.

Why are there two games in competing time slots today?  And they seem to be starting a bit early, no?  I don't recall these odd hours last pre-season.

Hate nfl offseason seems like forever lol.

Lol, and it's shorter this year, but yeah pre-season always seems to elevate the anticipation of regular season.  Funny how that works.

Yep, this is the crappy game though.  Starters play only a couple set of downs and I think Mac Jones isn't even playing for the Patriots.  The next game the starters shoukd get at least a half of work in and is a bit more competitive.  But I care not...give me my football!!
2438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 11, 2022, 08:29:31 PM
Its not just about him leaving though, I mean even if he stayed there until he retired, even if he scored 30 ppg for another 5 seasons, thats not a valuable trade. If I were Celtics, even with a guarantee of him staying, I wouldn't give Tatum and Brown together. I am not sure if there is a single player in all of NBA that I would trade those two together. Maybe in a few years and they start to play bad, but so far they are good enough to take them to finals, that should be clear enough that they are young and still better than most superstars together. Wouldn't give even a single one of them. Nets could ask anyone but those two, ask ANY player aside those two and all picks and you should have it, but those two are untouchable in my mind.

This is all a moot point lol.  Celtics wouldn't give them taytum for Durant straight up.  That's not to say that I think taytum is better.  It's just that he is young and will be on the team for the next 10 plus years in his prime.  Durant is already on his peak.  It's all just jockeying, Nets know they ain't getting taytum.
2439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Loan + Mining farm on: August 11, 2022, 07:05:06 PM
Will you take a big loan for building a mining farm this days? Is this a good idea or playing with fire? Someone is trying to talk me into this but I think its wise to share the thought on here.

That's a hard no if ypu are asking me.  Taking a loan out for something that is so volatile is crazy.  You can screw up your next 5-10 years finances betting on mining.  Grow slow.  Buy more and more as you get more money and grow your farm.  Mining is even more volatile than just straight buying bitcoin if you ask me.

Following people with crypto predictions is silly.  I mean tons of people can say it's going down some can say it will go up.  Half the crowd will claim they have some sort of talent when in fact they are just throwing nbers against the wall.  I've seen all the time people throw insane TA up and just were completely wrong.
