2441  Other / Meta / Re: [Bitcointalk Party - Discord sv] Bitcoin Pizza bake-off contest! Enter by 29 May on: June 08, 2022, 06:24:06 AM
Congratulations Fillippone for winning this year's Bitcoin Pizza Day bake off contest!

I take this occasion to send my sincere congratulations to fillippone, the winner of this year's contest. Bravo and chapeau fillippone!

This achievement is even more amazing, as fillippone comes from pizza's motherland, and I always wondered, in past years, how is it possible for a natural Italian pizza to not win Smiley Finally, this year it happened!

I am also more than pleased to see that my vote actually counted in establishing the winner. Furthermore, it also helped in establishing the runner-up which is, as far as I see, icopress. I take this occasion for congratulating him as well, and also all the other participants of the contest. Mixing passion for Bitcoin with joy (no matter what type of joy it is -- be it preparing a pizza or buying an anvil) is really extraordinary and I am happy to see so many people acting this way.

Long live the pizza!
Long live bitcointalk!
Long live Laszlo!

And, nevertheless, long live fillippone! Long live the new pizza kingRoll Eyes

Hello. Update after 18 months. . Thank you very much for your help and advice.

OP, I am very happy to hear that the advice you received here actually helped you in your quest for obtaining your money back.

Binance cooperated with the Romanian authorities and identified the people behind the wallets. The money was confiscated and everything is fine. They were stored at Binance.

This is even more great news! However, this amazes me, in a way. And this is because I would never believe that our local Police is capable of such investigation or they would ever pay attention to such kind of a theft. Obtaining crypto funds back, after a theft, is something difficult allover the world. But it's even more difficult in countries where local authorities don't even understand what they're dealing with. And I was almost certain that our Police would not give a damn for your complaint.

Seeing though that they really involved in your case; seeing that they identified the thieves; seeing that they went even further, to collaborate with Binance send a subpoena to Binance, in order to seize the thieves' funds (funds which, in fact, belonged to you) -- all these made me to see our Police in a total different view. I am not surprised by the fact that Binance accepted to seize the funds after receiving the subpoena; I am amazed by the fact that our local Police managed to go that far.

Probably, what I'm saying here may surprise many readers, which may think "Why is Gazeta so surprised? For Police it was the natural thing to do.". Such questions are perfectly normal to pop in mind. But I know how our Police works; I know how, many times, the victim is seen as the attacker; I know how, many times, they do not care for even more harsh abuses; and I know (or, I thought I knew) that our local authorities (including Police) have no idea what Bitcoin is. This is why I am so impressed by what OP managed to reach so far, with the help of Police...

OP, whenever you can (and whenever the law will allow you to), please let us know about the further proceedings. Good luck!

Total descentralizat - inclusiv stocare on-chain [...]

2444  Local / Presa / Re: Hackathon Supernova 10 Mai - 20 Iunie 2022 on: June 03, 2022, 05:34:22 AM

2445  Local / Presa / Re: Hackathon Supernova 10 Mai - 20 Iunie 2022 on: May 30, 2022, 03:07:21 PM

A lot of people automatically dismiss e-currency as a lost cause because of all the companies that failed since the 1990's. I hope it's obvious it was only the centrally controlled nature of those systems that doomed them. I think this is the first time we're trying a decentralized, non-trust-based system.

2446  Economy / Reputation / Re: For the reputation of this forum: you HAVE to rule on this flag! Share 10mBTC on: May 26, 2022, 06:44:26 PM
I also opposed the flag. For one reason, at least, this being the following: once OP used FortuneJack's services, he agreed to their Terms and Conditions. The terms may be incorrect, as LoyceV emphasized, but since OP used the services he also agreed to the respective Terms. Maybe he did not properly read them, but this is irrelevant.

Dura lex, sed lex, Latins used to say - The law is harsh but it is the law. Same thing applies to a contract (or, in this case, FortuneJack's terms). If OP signs a contract with someone, and he agrees to work for that person 8h / day, 40h / week for next 40 years, with no payment for his work, then he has no right to complain afterwords, nor to say that the contract is incorrect towards him, as he previously agreed with contract terms, when he signed it...

This is a graffiti, most likely showing Foxpup, which I found by pure chance, painted on a building close to the one where I live.

Seeing that Foxpup became notorius also in Romania, all I can say is that I bow down to such power and that I feel the need to adapt Lauda's worship phrase (may Lauda forgive my sin):

The Queen of Foxes guides us. The Queen of Foxes teaches us. The Queen of Foxes protects us. In your light we thrive. In your mercy we are sheltered. In your wisdom we are humbled. We live only to serve. Our lives are yours.

4. When switching the website localization to Chinese, from the button placed on the top-right of homepage, China's flag is not displayed. Besides, the "N" from "CN" is also not entirely displayed.

Can you please let us know which browser you used when you saw this? We have tried various browsers, Tor Browser included, and everywhere it looks just fine. To identify and optimize this we would like to know how exactly you saw this.

The issue happens to me on Firefox browser, on any version of it (I am usually keeping it updated). The issue also happened on Tor browser. If it matters, desktop resolution is 1920x1080. Please see the pictures below for more information.

This image shows the missing Chinese flag and the corrupted "N" from "CN" on Firefox browser, clear web address of UniJoin.

As you see, in both cases the right vertical bar ("|") of the "N" is barely visible and its color is pink.

7. Still on the "One Last Step Before Mixing Your Coins!" page, there is a warning, saying "If no funds are received within the remaining time, this link will be deleted [...]". However, there is no time counter displayed there.

Actually, there is a countdown on the middle of the page, right above the wallet address with the QR Code. Here again, please let us know what browser and what options you are using. Probably it's because of the security level you are using on the tor browser which disables some features.

I tried again today and it seems that the issue does not reproduce anymore. The counter is displayed:

I'll take a guess: he needs 8 Merit to become Full Member.

Lol, now it figures... Somehow I missed this detail. Probably he needed to make further explanations, about how each month is divided in weeks, how weeks are divided in days, how days are divided in hours (and so on), in order to obtain the 8 merits. But like that, explaining just how the year is divided in quarters, it's not 8-merits-worthy at all.

Thank you very much for pointing out the few corrections.

Welcome! But there's more Smiley

But the bot you mentioned is not working by my end. I have been trying it for about one month to make sure I received alert but IRONY is  the case. So I still prefer Moderators and admin create notification bar here in the forum.

Better talk to bot's developer. Probably you're doing something wrong. Excepting that, no mod, nor the admin will create a notification bar for you.

And how do you evaluate who is corrective?
That should be PERSONAL point of view. [...]
So I will want everyone to list thier for the final sum up. The persons that make corrections and encourage newbies always. Please bring yours.

So there is no KPI involved, just subjectivity. OK, I understand now.

Or most educative threads?
The threads you learn something most and most exciting Threads.

I believe that here you also imply just subjectivity and no KPI, right?

Or best local board? What makes a local board to be the best?
This column is meant for Fillippone's Threads. Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5230761.0 from this thread he can select the most impressive translation from the local boards

I am sorry, but I see absolutely no connection between the quality of translations made by some users for fillippone's topics and having a local board named "the best" based on that. For example, a local board may have a very low activity and yet, a user active in that board, to make a flawless translation for fillippone's topic(s). How would that make the respective board to be "the best"?

And what made you choose those translations to be the criterion for having a board to be "the best"? I am sorry, I do not understand. Furthermore: have you ever asked fillippone if he would agree with such decision? I highly doubt that he would agree, as he would see also no connection between a good translation and naming a local board as "the best".

And what does this "the best" actually mean? The best from what point of view? How do you define "the best"?

OP, you should be a bit more rational or logic, if you like to do a statistic like this. You need clear criteria for your fields.

Besides that, if you want to be taken seriously, you also need to spell the words correctly. Your topic and posts are full of typos and grammar errors (you use capital letters for some words, when it's not the case; you use double spaces sometimes between words; you spell wrong users' names; you spell wrong various words; you do not write dots (".") at the end of sentences; you use incorrectly the quote system etc.).

These are some examples:

1. Wrong use of quote system: in your reply to me you tried to quote me, but a part of my reply was quoted, while the other was not.

2. Double space (between "is" and "the") and incorrect use to capital letter (for "Moderators" -- this term could be written with low caps "m"):

I have been trying it for about one month to make sure I received alert but IRONY is  the case. So I still prefer Moderators and admin

3. Incorrect use of capital letters ("Mods", "Thread" and "Board") + missing logic at the beginning of the sentence:

The Mod's that is response to Threads, comments and always check up his or her Board (s) everyday.

Probably, here you wanted to write "Mods' evaluation is based on they way they respond inside threads, on their comments and on their activity inside their boards".

But the way you wrote the first part of the sentence makes no sense in English - "The Mod's that is response to Threads". What does that mean?

4. Spelling error:
So I will want everyone to list thier for the final sum up

The word is "their", not "thier"

Number of pamban..........if you know any.......... username.........

Perhaps you wanted to write "permaban"?

Number of temban..........if you know any.......... username.......

Perhaps you wanted to write "tempban"?

Number of Plagiarised users..............with username..

Perhaps you wanted to write "plagiarist users"?

Is the forum policies are active?......... Yes or No............ Brief comment

What does "Is the forum policies are active?" mean in English? This sentence makes no sense.

I would like modirators to provide this.

Modirators...?

The most educative Threads?................... username... with link.. ogNasty

His username is OgNasty, not ogNasty...

Second Quarter.... loading

Here you used four dots, instead of three. The punctuation symbol "..." has only three dots.

Look, OP: again, don't take me wrong. But when you write a topic or a post, you should also re-read it prior submitting the post. Check your writing for proofreading; correct the typos; correct the various errors you may encounter. Never write a bunch of words and then immediately click on "Post", without checking first what you just wrote.

And when you are using the "Preview" function, you can see that the text editor underlines (with a red line) the words which are spelled incorrectly. Correct those ones, at least. Or use another text editor, with dictionary set to English.

Writing the way you do looks just like a mess, no matter if you even have a good idea. And, if you want to have the chance to be taken seriously or into consideration, you should present, at least, a correct text. If you'd read a book full of spelling errors, what would you think / do? Wouldn't you say "Who is the underclassman which wrote this junk?", then throw it away? What I want to say is that, if you write like that there are high chances that users will also not even read your posts. Who would lose time for reading some gibberish?

I understand that you may not be an English native (if you are, the situation is even worst, as you are supposed to know your own language); many users from here are not English natives as well. But they make efforts to have correct writings. At least to use the text editor from "Preview" function... You may never have a text typo-free. But, at least, if you have just a few and minor ones, you can show that you tried, at least, to write a good and correct text.
2454  Other / Archival / Re: Quarterly Achievements of Bitcointalk 2022 on: May 21, 2022, 07:27:23 PM
Cryptocurrencybrainboss [...] Fullippone

I think that you renamed them, OP. You should change these names with "CryptopreneurBrainboss" and, respectively, "fillippone". Spelling people's name incorrectly may lead to have them not being notified by bots for being mentioned but, above all, may also make people feel insulted.

Most Active Moderators............... username..................DdmrDdmr

DdmrDdmr is not a moderator, as far as I know...

Last, but not least:

How do you evaluate a mod's activity? By activity points...?
And how do you evaluate who is corrective? Or most educative threads? Or best local board? What makes a local board to be the best?

Don't take me wrong, but you need proper, objective and precise KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) defined for such evaluations...

@Mitchell and @ralle14: I just noticed a small typo in your thread, which is a thread very useful to many users, and I am sure that many, like me, follow it for years now. I thought to tell you the typo, in order to fix it, and have the text typo-free.

In the above mentioned quote you should change "campaigns thread" with "campaign's thread", meaning to place an apostrophe (" ' ") between the "n" and the "s" of "campaigns". I hope this helps.

Traduceam saptamanal cate o parte a unui capitol, in ordinea in care autoarea posta.

Hello Royse777, I studied this topic carefully for a while now. As far as I see, it's the same 99% the same as previous one. And, as you see, it's almost one month since you posted it and nobody replied yet. I believe there are 3 reasons for this:

- maybe users are not feeling incentivized enough by the 5$ prize, especially compared with previous topic where, for same request (meaning to leave a feedback / review), the prize was 20$
- at same time, there is chance that the respective 5$ prize to barely cover the fee for the transaction made. Depending on the price fluctuation, there is also a chance for the prize to not even cover the fee, or to be very close in value to the amount paid as transaction fee. Having this in mind, who would make a work for barely nothing (or even for ending up with a minus in their wallet)?
- other than that, it is also possible that some users to be disappointed by (1) UniJoin's lack of response to all previous feedbacks, (2) by the fact that they did not fix all issues reported in previous feedbacks or, (3) by LoyceV's feedbacks, especially his final one.

Having these in mind, maybe it would be better to talk to UniJoin and let them know that, after 1 month, nobody replied here, and also talk to them about what I mentioned here. Maybe they'll rethink this campaign, in a manner that it will attract participants.

Conform regulilor organizatorului,

Conditions
- Maximum 100 users and first come first serve.

Intamplator, ideea a fost tratata si de Wendy McElroy, in cartea The Satoshi Revolution. O sa o citez mai jos:

Quote
