2441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Gambling Slang and Terms that Beginners Should be Aware of on: January 07, 2023, 03:26:01 PM
Quite handy indeed for the new ones. Slangs I think, are more useful for beginners than to use actual technical terminologies which they won't understand in an instant; somehow it has something to do with mnemonics. On my end I've learned (not sure if these are slang terms) words such as 'multibets', AG Odds (against odds) and such which my friends and I often use so I am not quite sure if these words are being used by others as well. It just somehow adds enjoyment with my gambling experience.
Kind of funny how Martingale is on the list even though it's an incredibly bad strategy to use (imo). It's also my first time hearing some of the terms in the list such as Beard, Chalk, and Sharp. Rather odd or curious how some of these terms came into existence even. I'd probably never use them (or will probably see them being used), maybe once or twice a year, but glad to see a list.

Well it is more of a technical terminology on my end because it is also being used with other things regarding probability. But if it really is, I have no problem with that. Slangs on the other hand are just ways of players to communicate more efficiently with other players and also to promote convenience than to use the actual word.
2442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If Luck Was Measured In Percentage, Rate Your Luck In 2022 From 0-100 on: January 07, 2023, 02:49:21 PM
I think it is around 75% because I somehow bagged quite of an amount before the end of the previous year. It ain't that much but it is an achievement for me since I am not a 'heavy' player. Also, I do engage more with sportsbetting so no matter what the outcome is, I do still enjoy the experience itself.
I will not say I was super lucky last year in gambling, but my luck was not all that bad because I won some amount of money that I was happy about playing on Livecasino.io.
It's a Simple question -
Let's all assume that luck could be measured in percentage, I want us all to rate our luck in gambling for the year 2022,
From 0 to 100, rate how lucky you were in gambling last year.
On a scale of 0-100, My luck last year was fluctuating between 55 and 45 I will say.

For this new year, I still hope to try out my luck whenever I can, that is gamble some more responsibly.
Well, atleast you are not forcing your luck too much. For sure we are mostly aware that there are players who are pushing way too much just to be like those who made fortune out of this industry. Luck will always have a special place in this activity. The impression of being rich in an instant is the thing we should avoid. Knowing how uncertain winning is, it would be much better to always measure the risks and amount that has tendencies to be lost. As long as you enjoy what you are doing, for sure you won't be eaten by the misconception of what gambling really is all about.
2443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 07, 2023, 02:09:25 PM
I have 2 motorbikes at home, but what I always use is only 1 motorbike, and 1 motorbike is rarely used, and indeed the motorbike is also old, and if it is sold it won't be too expensive, and I decided to sell the motorbike, because in my opinion the price of the motorbike will definitely fall over time,
(affected by inflation). and the money from the sale of the motorbike I will use to buy bitcoin. because in my opinion the price of bitcoin in the future will definitely rise. and also currently the market is bear, so this is a good opportunity to buy bitcoins. and I want to ask everyone, the decision I made, namely selling the motorbike and the money to buy bitcoin, is it wrong or not?

I'm ready to be corrected because I have no experience in bitcoin and crypto.
Selling something to buy something profitable is a good thing and you are doing 'investment' right in my opinion. Some people would sell what is necessary because of their impression towards something which is profitable, perhaps Bitcoin, which is not a good thing to do. Always check your necessities and only invest an amount you can afford losing, as being mentioned endlessly. Inspite of the potential for this technology, investors should still measure the risks involved and it won't be smart to loan (in some instances as mentioned by other users in this forum) just to invest. Any form of investment won't guarantee profit especially with this blockchain wherein the market prices are too volatile.
2444  Economy / Speculation / Re: Each time you see a red candle! on: January 06, 2023, 11:59:10 PM
To avoid fear or pressure, know what you are doing. A long candle won't mean that it is the end of a 'rally'. The market itself is unpredictable; even TAs are just for guidance only and won't mean certainty with the market price behavior.
The worst state of any investor is to be at long term loss. It comes with so much anxiety, anger, Fuddity, pressure, spoiled plans and many more ill happenings.
Since you've engaged to long term invest, that should be normal because that is the 'gamble' to long term holding. If this is the case, I think (if I'm wrong please correct me) investor id at fault if he would suffer from lomg term loss. In the first place, not because it is long term, you won't take precautionary actions to either cut or endure the loss. You still need to measure if there are possibilities of recovery or not; whether to move from one to another token.
2445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if you found others' keys? on: January 06, 2023, 11:38:09 PM
Easy to say things related to 'returning it to the owner' but that won't be easy for sure unless there are IDs perhaps in a wallet or just something which would help you to identify its owner. Morally this is the best thing to do but not giving it back if there are no identification is also fine. It just depends on your eagerness to help and if you're not that interested to do so, no one could push you. But to how I see such things, I'll never wish to experience it so for sure I would be returning it to the owner  as my pure intention. If there will be no identification information, I'd wait for communities to reach me out (facebook crypto groups). If I won't be posting the concern or announcing it but there are people who'd somehow ask for what happened, then that could be an indicator that he/she is the owner.
2446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers Demand Bitcoin as Ransom in Romania on: January 06, 2023, 04:44:24 PM
There are many possible angles on this case and that includes inside job, anonymity, and accessibility. Accessibility might be easier for health related establishments unlike with government and other 'technicalities'. Next is with inside job; given that the database could be easier to be acessed, still it would or supposedly allow people to have linkages on it if they are an employee or even former employee. Lastly is anonymity. This might be the reason why hackers demanded Bitcoin in order to hide their identities from the authority through the help of decentralization.
I feel very pity for the hacker because its target is the hospital and there are a lot of people who are admitted to this hospital and these people's life may be in danger once some things will turn bad during the negotiation.
Another thing is for Bitcoin, by doing this, Bitcoin is becoming dirty because these people are using Bitcoin. This is one of the examples of why some people think that Bitcoin is a fraud because it is being used by criminals.
That's just how works to some, especially to cases wherein money is involved. You cannot ask a bad guy to be a good one in the first place,
2447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 06, 2023, 03:59:54 PM
Probably won't. In the first place, I am not into Chess and other board games. Second is, not to conclude but is it not something to be easily manipulated regarding results? Unlike with fighting games wherein fighters would need to be serious of what they are doing because they could endanger their lives, I cannot see anything of a downside to a chess player if he'd manipulate resulta regardless of who'd win. But I won't be trying to set a boundary against those who are into this kind of 'sport'. If it is profitable, then ofcourse there will be people to admire its idea.  But in my end, I'd probably stay with the sports which I enjoy watching to atleast disregard match fixations.
2448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their cryptocurrency on exchanges? on: January 06, 2023, 03:30:07 PM
Reason is to trade it or sell it with convenience. I see no other reason than with investors just wanting to ease themselves than to access their wallets and transfer time to time. Also, we all know traffic occurs in networks which could result to missed opportunities of selling at peak. Another thing I guess is that those who do so simply trust exchangers, nothing more and nothing less. I am guilty of such thing to be honest. I was not aware that what happened with FTX is really possible because owners were negligent. But if such thing did not occur, for sure many people are still putting their assets on exchangers. Right now, people are not required to remove their funds from exchangers; it is not a good thing to generalize exchangers anyway.
2449  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 Bitcoin can take a position discussion. on: January 06, 2023, 02:41:47 PM
Luna and FTX This is the result of the market falling out of the market.  The Bitcoin market hit an all-time low and the price of Bitcoin will remain slightly lower in January.  Because investors are just waiting for the time when the market will aim higher.  But right now is the perfect time to invest, the market is on the wall.  We should never miss this opportunity.
If investors are still waiting for the right time to enter the market again, market conditions will take longer to rise and will always be sluggish without better movements. Because the boosters and boosters of the foundation of the Bitcoin price in the market are by large and also more investors, so if they are still waiting for the time to enter and don't immediately rush to enter now, a high increase in the price of Bitcoin will always be difficult to happen in this month or in this near future.
That's just the idea of what demand is; based on the majority. And it just happened that we cannot control the minds of everyone to invest continuously; every investor has their own fear or reason why they are still hesitating at that point resulting for a struggle with the recovery of the market price of cryptos. But if we would base on some market indicators, there are newly released tokens having quite of a good increase which for me, is something to hope for instead of doubting this year which has just began. But that's indeed true, we need something of a "booster" but what could that be? I guess it is something like news in this industry which would attract interest. And what goes by with that is profit in this industry. P2Es and NFTs are somewhat dormat at this point. So maybe, news about adoption of this technology woud be a possibility, to uplift everyone's interest.
2450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to memorize seed phrase? on: January 06, 2023, 02:11:49 PM
It is a good thing if you'd do, I cannot see anything wrong with that, but to rely on your memory I guess is not. If you would be memorizing your seedphrase, still keep something which qould help you remember it just in case you forgot it. Some would say that's unecessary and that is true. But there is also nothing wrong from doing so, it would even lessen the risk of other people being able to access your wallet.
Well, if you think that you can memorize them for many years, then why not? Perhaps, it was you who would know what is best for you but for me, and for some circumstances and the busy life I have, I couldn't make it for sure. I was still good at writing them on paper than keeping them on my computer. Besides, even doing that couldn't assure that we are totally safe from hackers. We can simply set aside that there are so many ways we lose control of our wallet and we remember that a single mistake could lead to hacking incidents - accessing phishing sites, or malware attacks.
I agree. There are just different ways a wallet could be accessed and those instances would always point out to owner's negligence. We only have one job which is to avoid such things to occur because that would be more unfortunate than to lose from investments. Writing or memorizing will depend on your lifestyle or security habits; if you could secure keeping your phrase, then do it but if not, might be a good thing to memorize.
2451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mistake I made some years ago on: January 05, 2023, 11:34:28 PM
Many of us for sure have made the same mistake and we really cannot do a thing about it. Bitcoin and this technology was less appreciated before simply because it is still a new 'thing' in the world of currencies. Potential is there indeed but in order to appreciate something you have to see it first. Why do we think there are people who sold early? because they don't know that its market price could be as high as we've witnessed. If they do know before for sure they won't and that's something we cannot change from the past. What's done is done. But why are people hesitating to buy at the present if there are chances for a higher market value in the future? 'coz no one is certain of it. If we would observe, we're on the same position as before.
2452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: January 05, 2023, 10:20:31 PM
Basically, if you're into long term holding, major coins (top cryptocurrencies on exchangers) would be the best option because they have established enough community to sustain market demand and market price at certain points which makes them less volatile in comparison with the new cryptocurrencies in this industry. But if you are into short term holding, newly released tokens from projects which has huge potential, is a good idea as well because they are having higher rate of increase which means they could generate more profit.
Just realize that what we are trying to do with top 10 is not something that is long term because it's not a company or anything. A coin in top 10 could always end up with zero at any moment, doesn't mean that it will happen but it is a possibility. Look at Luna, don't know if it was in top 10 but it was huge, definitely in top 20 and what happened? It dropped to near zero levels because of a problem. And any coin in top 10 could be like that as well.

Aside from bitcoin and ethereum of course, possibly bnb as well. This means that there aren't that many coins out there, even in top 10, which you can buy and hold forever, it won't work, you have to constantly be checking for the best ones.
Long term holding does not mean you'd hold it forever. Just how you percieve the word 'long'. If it is a year holding, then that would make sense to be called long term if most of the time you are trading tokens.
2453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: January 05, 2023, 04:45:17 PM
Isn't it the usual? Last week its market price is just $30 and it grew fast. What I am referring to as usual is to stay away from a token which already took flight because that would be risky. It would be much better to play it safe or to not go along with the uprise movement at this moment because it could be too late. Let it slide for those who trusted the token early, they deserve it. That's just how the market goes; you may find 'gold' out of 'rocks and stones' although it does not happen often. On my end, I think it is too late already to invest and as others have mentioned, the hype will go down eventually because there are no utility to sustain the rate of increase for this coin. Let us just see this as a sign for a market recovery this year to somehow view it as positive for this industry.
2454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Digital dollar a threat to Bitcoin ? on: January 05, 2023, 04:18:05 PM
Not even close. Different concepts and different advantages; one is stable and one is volatile. USD based currencies are stable ones while Bitcoin is highly volatile generating profit as an investment. I've said not even close because investors are using these currencies differently; Bitcoin more of an asset while usd based digital currency are for daily transactions, so I don't think one fears another.
Rather than spamming irrelevant articles across the forum you could add some extra information or thoughts you have on the topic it discusses. That would make more for a discussion than simply posting a line and a one line follow up.

I will try to add more information in OP from now on.

But, it will be a positive development for bitcoin and encourage more people to use bitcoins.

How does that happen ? Isn't it more like competition? The people with traditional thinking might go with government backed project.
Not a competition but more of coexistence I guess. The only difference is decentralization and centralization of each. On my end especially when trading, I do prefer using usdt as a mode of payment because it is more convenient to use. But I also doubt one would promote the other currency.
2455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis VS Hector Luis Garcia SAT, JAN 07, 2023 on: January 05, 2023, 01:12:57 PM
Things are taken care of, for now, this is a dilemma for promoters they want healthy boxers in mind and body in the ring, especially Gervonta who is a very special boxer, come January 7 we'll see how Gervonta deals with the trauma I expect Gervonta to fully dominate Hector Garcia but this is supposed to be a tune fight and the big fights are just coming and Gervonta's handlers and promoters should see to it that everything is smooth going in the big fight which is a Ryan Garcia fight, but for now he should dispose of this another Garcia.
After this work, his lawyers and handlers should tackle all the issues and obstructions for the Ryan Garcia fight.

With all the distractions going into this fight, i don't think Davis is 100 percent ready but i also think that even if a "50 percent boxing ready Davis" will still defeat Garcia but not in an impressive manner IMO.

ML odds for now at my favarite bookies is Davis 1.05, Garcia 7.80, not attractive and not going to bet on that one. Will wait for the "Davis by decision" option as i think it will be 3.XX plus and that would be attractive odds AFAIC.

Yeah, I just check the odds because I was curious, I know that Davis will be the favorite but it seems that sport bookies are not giving Hector Garcia a slim chance to win in this fight.

Anyhow, we all know that there are distractions on Davis camp and the only way we know if he really is affected by all the negativity around him is if he is not focus on his upcoming. Yes, probably a full 12 rounds and then him winning by unanimous decision will be the best bet as per odds or at least the fight going into distance.
He is a professional in the first place, for sure he encountered such thing before regarding negativities around him especially during his amateur era, so I think this won't slow him down.

On my end, I have a high belief that Davis would 'own' this fight. Big respect to Hector but Davis quite grew 'bigger' as a boxer over his undefeated record. As I have watched his previous fights, his punches are becoming more accurate not to mention his endurance which might be because of his strengthening routines(he's more buffed at the present). So for me, he's ready for the date. Hector for sure has the potential but I just think this would be too much for him.
2456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: January 05, 2023, 10:46:05 AM
I would go for the most practical and realistic and that would be 20-30k?

in 2022 we have crossed 20k how many times in the 3rd quarter and even some in 4th so it would be best to see this happening again this year but that would be the highest for me as we are closing to the 4 year cycle and there are more to expect in 2024 I guess than this year.
A more realistic viewpoint is around $20k since there's nothing on line for this year's market pump unlike with 2024 wherein the next Bitcoin halving is anticipated. Right now, the market is still stagnant but I'm quite glad that there are tokens being released gaining high rate of increase despite of the bearish trend, such as $Bonk which is for me a good market indicator. But I hope there will be a new trend this year which could save this industry such as with what happened last year with NFTs and P2Es which triggered a huge demand inspite of not having a halving since last time. If ever there will be, things might still change or even positive news could uplift the direction of market prices which we should look forward with, for this year.
2457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In search of reselling tipsters group on: January 05, 2023, 08:54:12 AM
I don't know any but I'm curious why are you guys buying tips which are not even certain? I only know that tipsters only work for big tournaments wherein rich people are involved to betting since they are the ones who can manipulate a match and such. If it is just a normal sportsbetting wherein your highest bet is a thousand, I think it won't be worthy of doing so because it would seem you are buying other's opinion of the match itself instead of relying on your judgement given that it is your funds in the first place. I know many people here are seeking profit and are willing to spend that much but atleast be sure that it is worthy of your 'additional' investment.
2458  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: STAKE IS UNFAIR AND BIASED, NOTHING BUT CLASSISM! on: January 05, 2023, 06:52:41 AM
ok, so im sure you are all aware of this reward that stake offers, but they have a reward that they give out that is called the top VIP players of the month reward. now i am a gold VIP rank at stake, and i was screwed out of that bonus. i finished in the higher end of the top vip players for the month of december, like i had a higher standing then more then half of the people that received the reward, but they refused to give me the reward, saying because i am not at vip level platnium 4. this is completely obsurd, considering 1.

If you are qualified with the wagering contest, then you'd definitely recieve it. As others have mentioned, you should have showed proofs that you are; ranked at gold VIP in stake platform. If you've finished on the higher tier of the race, it would really be a problem to the gambling platform to ignore giving your rewards especially if you are eligible of it and if this story is true. Not to be biased but Stake is quite having a good name already, why would they even put dirt on their reputation just because of something they are the ones who offered it in the first place? You may also contact their support 'coz delays are possible (but never experienced it when it comes to their bonuses, fortunately). Provide support to your accusation and for sure this community will help you out if and only if this is true.
2459  Economy / Economics / Re: Turning the Corner Into 2023 on: January 04, 2023, 11:07:27 PM
happy new year to all friends

financial management in 2022 might be bad for me personally because I was too late to get out of my comfortable cycle and realized when the asset value was minus more than 40% ,
I think making a wish at the beginning of the year is only natural right?
so that the direction in 2023 is more focused in this crypto, lesson after lesson I get from incident after incident in crypto becomes my experience
Wishing for a better year is normal, relying on your wish is not. It is you who would decide where you would focus given that we are going under different circumstances. Sometimes, no matter how bad you want to invest, there will be something which would make you hesitate and that is just fine and better than to just engage into it without considering other factors

Well for this year, I guess many people are aware, nothing's still new to hype investors up, as we begin with 2023. Hoping for things to be better is needless to say.The best thing to do for now is to wait for the 'right' time; a time wherein pattern or trend is visible and a time when you are ready to both ups and downs of your speculations.
2460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At What Age You Got into Bitcoin and also Trading? on: January 04, 2023, 10:02:31 PM
I came across with this technology when I was 15, that I think was way back 2013, but I did not put that much attention into it. It was in 2016 where my interest towards this industry grew; made some cents out of faucets and in 2017 with airdrops. Then afterwards signature campaigns and trading. As far as I remember, I've learned trading "late" 'coz it is a bit complex and even at this point I am still not that 'good' into it. Sinply proves that there are no easy ways to earn profit in this industry in contrast with the impression created towards it by some non-crypto users. In my general experience, I'd say this technology really helped me a lot with finances and as a curious individual. Some people might have regrets of not investing early, but I think it is just the same thing; knowing it on its early years won't mean that you'd invest right away.
