2441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and energy consumption on: June 10, 2021, 10:13:47 AM
They only look at a certain level and evaluate everything with a one-sided view of Bitcoin. It was the advent of Bitcoin that made international remittance services work better than before, increased sending speeds and launched mobile apps for people to be proactive in their transactions.
It was Bitcoin that changed the face of banking around the world.
As you said, it is absurd when the security level of the banking system is weak. It is that weakness that brings about economic and time loss, which can be said to slow down the history of human development.

But that is natural and normal. Even from the side of crypto,,, we have to admit most crypto people also evaluate things from their single perspective. Fiat and banks are evil and all that and ignore 99% of alt projects are also truly evil and even worse as they scam people left and right.

But yes, it seems this is the neverending debate that never looks at the real answer.
2442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Layer 2 is on FIRE! Why I'm Moving Most of My Capital There on: June 10, 2021, 08:38:49 AM
actually layer 2 of eth is a good compromise to pay less fees, even off line on transactions, more and more projects / platforms are adopting it but i don't think it is a decisive / definitive solution but only a bridge to be used in anticipation of the upcoming ethereum 2.0

I agree. There is a tradeoff in security,,, but overall the network can still sniff out bad actors so it is good so far. And Layer 2 does not even just mean cheap fees,,, it means bridges to other networks and other dapps. It will be really exciting to see all the new things coming not just cheap fees:)

Good luck to everyone, look forward to Joe, and happy 5th birthday SPORTSBET!
2444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread on: June 10, 2021, 06:46:30 AM
Even though I'm not from Europe, I really like and follow the main European tournaments very closely.
I had already seen some news about this "third division", but I confess that I know very little about the teams that can be part of it.

It's nice to see that UEFA is giving space so that smaller teams also have the chance to compete at a mainland level, but I ask locals (from Europe), are there "good" teams to make a quality third division?
I ask this because here in America I doubt that Conmebol can do the same.

I can answer this for sure,,, because my beloved team Spurs will be competing in this season Conference,,, for failing to get in UCL and Europa:) I believe I have a good team just with poor management and bad decisions from the top. But they still have the England captain and South Korean captain playing for them, so that must be a good quality team right?

Remember also there were a time when AC Milan was very far down the league so for sure always quality teams in Conference:)
2445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To diversify or not to diversify... on: June 09, 2021, 02:45:26 PM
Wow that is a lot of Bitcoin for a beginner so I should say congratulations:)

Keep buying at your current rate and do not look or get tempted. Put aside money you can lose, but not all your savings and you will be fine. Do not try predicting,,, just dollar cost and you will be happy.

I do say Ethereum also, but still mainly BTC!
2446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptos VS Apple on: June 09, 2021, 02:10:15 PM
if you look at the current market cap difference, it is indeed very far away, the closest when bitcoin has also increased quite sharply, and even then the difference is 12 times and of course if you look at it it will probably be difficult to happen, moreover both are also increasing and there will always be a difference. especially now it has become 20 times the difference in the market cap.

but seeing the developments experienced by bitcoin which continues to increase sharply it could happen but it might take time and obviously there will be a long time difference that can happen, again in crypto it is quite strange sometimes it is difficult to predict and can experience a sharp increase but can also drop sharply.

The familiar path of altcoins. They rise so fast, and then everyone is talking about Bitcoin dominance dropping and alts move up quickly on coinmarketcap/gecko.

Then we see the hype fade. Hands drop bags,,, devs start doing trashy influencers.

Supply for alts never changes but burns. Prices dump.

Bitcoin wins:)
2447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 09, 2021, 01:08:26 PM
Different tastes then I guess. I don't like Chelsea as much, but maybe they'll start a new era now. Might be possible. Bayern is just an incredibly strong squad on almost every single position, but Haaland's problem would be Lewandowski I guess. They won't play both at the same time as they are very similar strikers. He might fit Chelsea pretty well from that perspective. With Haaland Chelsea might play for the national championship next year. Without him, I don't see Chelsea competing for rank 1 next year.

Yes,,, same here not only because I am a Spurs fan so London rivalry but just because of the way they have been run,,, but I wonder like you now if a new era could be started under Tuchel. Lampard was given a chance to shine but we all knew he was not permanent.

Haaland's problem is always going to be if he joins a big team with established name. Chelsea is the ideal place to prove his worth, when not a single guy got more than 7 goals for the Blues last season, and their strikers all failed. I would see that as a win-win for both team and player.
2448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is BNB is at it's peak price? on: June 09, 2021, 12:10:30 PM
To be honest,,, BNB is holding very well at their current price now even with this bearish market. I totally expected them to dump a lot but they have kept pace with Bitcoin and ETH which sort of says they are doing something to keep it stable, which of course means more burns and maybe internal buying:)
2449  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did YOU start trading in bitcoin? on: June 09, 2021, 10:58:53 AM
IIRC Bittrex was the biggest exchange players between 2016 - 2017 before they got replaced by binance months later. Bittrex was the market leader then since they had not just top cryptos listed but they also listed the best ICO tokens at that time. It was the first exchange I started trading with using ztrader app (now obsolete) before moving to tabtrader app because the user experience was much more better including the UI too. But I later stopped trading on Bittrex altogether due to the fact that they started locking accounts while forcing users to do KYC with them. It's still a good exchange (considering they've not exit scammed for years now) just that they've fallen below the pecking order very much behind Binance, Huobi, KuCoin and even OKEx.

I think they are still quite big judging from the orderbook sizes there and how quick they arrange for me. I mean I do not trade anymore practically now just selling weird coins I can sometimes get here and there for BTC and then withdrawing it all. Very quick,,, not like slow exchanges that tell you all sorts of things.

They did also try IEOs before but those failed badly and gave them a bad reputation.
2450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 09, 2021, 10:29:14 AM
kulusevski has been found positive too for COVID.
Sweden is under test now.

Was too hard for UEFA/FIFA to vaccinate all the players like Tokyo is doing for the Olympic summer games?

I was asking about this a few weeks ago, I thought for sure they would vaccinate all the players, or make it a requirement for them to do so if they wanted to play. I mean Europe now has no problems with supply while many countries are still waiting for supplies,,, and how is it people playing EURO still do not have the vaccine???
2451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and energy consumption on: June 09, 2021, 10:05:04 AM
Compare the mining, use, and validation of cryptocurrencies with the issuance of banknotes, bank operations, and confirmation of transactions.
Cryptocurrency is more economical because it is decentralized and cheaper than the worldwide banking system if we look at it as a whole.
Some mining and operating cryptocurrencies are quite light and use little electrical energy.
Cryptocurrency is just one of the payment solutions so it will improve over time. Any argument that cryptocurrencies are wasteful is false because cryptocurrencies themselves have evolved from POW to POS mining.

People will not see that. What they see is expensive Chinese miners eating up electricity to let people gamble and do ransom.

What they cannot see is the millions of employees and managers at banks, and expensive 24/7 computers and redundant servers all maintaining the global financial system yet easy to hack, easy to take down, and with full of exploits and bad management all around. That is the true cost.
2452  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: June 09, 2021, 08:11:50 AM
It's hard to follow all this promotional news you are doing so maybe think about creating some official Sportsbet telegram ANN channel to inform everyone on time.
Important thing for this promo is to opt-in and place the bet until 13.06 23:59 GMT.
My bet is on Germany to win EURO, but I would not be surprised to see France taking the trophy.

I get an email from Sportsbet all the time when there is a new promo, and I check the promo PAGE daily PLUS if you go to the ClubTalk you will see in the promo page all the new promos and boosts as they come,,, so this is to me even better than Telegram:)

Already opted in and took this a long time ago, but should have waited because the country I picked became boosted a few days after I made mine:) GO PORTUGAL!
2453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Layer 2 is on FIRE! Why I'm Moving Most of My Capital There on: June 09, 2021, 06:36:36 AM
I had no idea 1inch was Layer 2? I thought it was just an aggregator:)

But you are right I think Layer 2 is really going to be hot and as much as I think defi will not last,,, I think after defi dies Layer 2 will continue to be around.

Ethereum 2.0 with Layer 2 all around is really going to be SO damn cool.
2454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't you think Bitcoin will die over the summer? on: June 08, 2021, 03:54:04 PM
I think it will not die, but maybe it will drop we all witness a massive drop of the bitcoin price, dropping is normal but dying or become zero in value is imposible.  We all witness how bitcoin reach its ATH this year. So dying is really far from reality maybe it will be back to its price in 2018 but it will never fall into zero value.

All we need to do is go back to the previous years where Bitcoin did ATH and then look at the following year or two and see the same questions people are asking now. Will it die,,, will it stagnate,,, it is all no longer valid to ask as Bitcoin is too big to die. Will it turn into something else? Will it stabilize? Maybe.
2455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the epidemic have a big impact on Bitcoin? on: June 08, 2021, 03:02:29 PM
But in third world countries or even like in my own, people are not earning in pandemic and have no salaries. How to buy Bitcoin?Smiley They are living at home and trying to do 2nd or even 3rd jobs now.
Some are very unfortunate and many had lost their job during this pandemic. I understand the situation that these people in the 3rd world country (from where I belong) had missed this chance. yeah, they become hopeless every day, and investing in Bitcoin is neither their priority. That is sometimes I think that crypto investment makes rich people become richer and poor people remain poor because of losing an opportunity.

Like I said,,, people have no jobs and no money, anything they can get they are spending on food and even earning second incomes and third incomes to pay for bills. It is not that they do not want to save in Bitcoin it is about not even having money to save and even eating their current savings already. So no, I cannot see how pandemic is good for poor people to buy BTC.
2456  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: By all means make some money but don't be a Zionist, be a dignified gentile on: June 08, 2021, 01:06:32 PM
If you support the people who are here for short-term gains then what is wrong with their complete sell-off and wait for the dip to happen, it's like they are utilizing the maximum potential of their capital.

As an investor, they shouldn't care about these dramas so they can avoid panic selling.

Exactly right? I keep wondering why people are so angry. If they were thinking sustainable and long term then they should not be at all worried. If people are also looking for short term gains then realize that for there to be winners there must also be losers.

Let people speculate and trade, that is what gives crypto market the famous volatility it has always had,,,:)
2457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Junior students ask for advice: what money is worth investing now, and what mone on: June 08, 2021, 11:58:47 AM
That reminds me of two years ago where I was one of the guest speakers in a cryptocurrency roadshow event held in a well-known university in the Philippines. In a Q&A session, one student raised his hand and provided with microphone, asking me and the rest of the speakers on our advice about the best ones to invest while they are still young.

I just shared my opinion to that student that both stocks and crypto are great investments for the future but comes a certain risk such as market situation, volatility, circumstances, etc. I added that risk management is necessary and only invest what he could afford to lose.

For long-term investment, no questions asked for BTC and ETH.

I did not know you were from there,,, I have seen your nick before but wow, amazing to hear crypto lectures in universities. I guess the problem with young people (myself included when I was young) is that we were bright but also we were stupid. We knew where to find information but we did not have streetsmart to know and identify possible scams.

Which is where crypto is so dangerous as there are way more scams than legit projects. I would always say expect to lose money. Except Bitcoin long term.

Thank you for sharing:)

No links provided and he never comes back to reply all these so we must assume it is not legit.

I do like the idea of people going to school,,, especially in our countries in Asia where not everyone even has schooling facilities or teachers, but maybe NFT idea is good, if we see a detailed proposal. How much goes to them and how much goes to you?
2459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 08, 2021, 08:56:26 AM
It was yet another bad performance from Croatia, toothless in attack and in panic mode whenever there's a cross coming into our box. I'm really not confident we'll even pass the group playing like this.

And it is more than obvious that some old players cannot be replaced so easily - and above all I mean Mandzukic who was definitely a class above the strikers we have now. You can't beat anyone if you don't score goals, which is the biggest lack that Croatia currently has - with of course a defense that is not coordinated and often seems panicky.

I don't think it's so unattainable to pass the group, because it would be enough to achieve one victory and two draws for that goal - and regardless of England being the big favorite, they didn't show impressive football in the preliminaries either - a 1-0 victory against Austria and Romania - while Scotland scarcely defeated mighty Luxembourg with great difficulty (0-1).

Far from looking as good as in Russia, but it is no longer the same team, and we should all be aware of that.

I would not count out the veterans playing in this tournament so soon,,, I do agree when you see teams like England full of young players, and a slower team like Croatia, you fear for them. But do not forget in these short and KO rounds,,, energy is not all you need but experience. The problem though is as cryptofrka mentions the panic when cross comes in. That is supposed to be something pros do not fear at all and reminds me of my supposedly experienced team I support;)
2460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and energy consumption on: June 08, 2021, 08:22:03 AM
What's funny is that Elon was 100% aware of how it works but earlier he never brought up the point but now all the discussion revolves around this energy consumption.

For a moment I even agree that yes energy is wasted but we have POS coins coming up then are people ready to accept them or they have some other logic for not accepting it? I mean if someone wants to use crypto but doesn't because it wastes energy then go ahead and use POS coins and you should be good. I don't know why suddenly this has become a huge problem while the system exists for 10+ years.

This is the point which leads me to think he actually was not aware of everything. So he knew maybe like most of us did about mining, that it needed computers and expensive computers.

What he probably did not find out at first, again just like most of us,,, was that it actually was very very expensive to run these miner computers on their own all day all year:)

And finally he is a big idiot for not realizing this is the most secure money network in the world. Of course it costs money to secure it! If not, then anyone would be incentivized to attack it.
