1601  Economy / Economics / Re: US with problems to raise the debt ceiling... again on: September 28, 2021, 09:30:48 AM
It’s funny how governments work around the clock and still fails to accommodate the typical economic cycle. I’m wondering how country like US can go in debt if most of the income is from Home production and worth to note that they are the biggest supplier of biological products to high end machine and what not. They should be one giving out the loans and not borrowing to overcome their own situation.

Is it has got to do anything with money being spend on the crypto and taxes are not being filed? Could crypto be that effective to make the economic situation worst like this?

Actually,,, I always thought that governments are the ones working the least Wink In my country now, you can get the least working hours simply by working for the government!

But jokes aside,,, if a government is well run and the economy is healthy, they actually do not have to work round the clock.

And the answer to your debt is war. You know the US government borrows from the Feds billions to go to war right? 6 Trillion debt in 20 years Smiley

China owns 1 Trillion of US debt by the way Grin
1602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin(Cryptocurrencies) is a social movement? on: September 28, 2021, 09:07:08 AM
most Bitcoiners are just holding it to reap profit. I don't see any discussions about plans how to make Bitcoin replace fiat currency, everyone is just saying "when Bitcoin will replace fiat and banks its price will be $4,000,000" as if it will magically happen on its own.
Then how come there's always people saying that bitcoin will replace fiat currency? That idea won't be popular if there aren't a lot of people talking about it right? We really need to get rid of people that overhypes and exaggerates the capabilities of bitcoin, they give the wrong impression to newbies that would lead to newbies experience the reality and ending up frustrated.

Because people say everything and anything,,, and do not back it up with action.

Look at the influencers on social media who are talking about Bitcoin like this. Are any of them developers, did they really fight for Bitcoin or contribute to it, or even USE it the way forum people and developers here are? Most do not probably even use a real wallet, just rich investors who have a lot of Bitcoin and hoarding it to sell at a certain price.

A popular idea does not make it a real one that is actually happening.
1603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: September 28, 2021, 07:50:55 AM
If sports betting is included I think i'm up by a little bit, without it i'm most likely in the red but on the other hand i'm taking less losses recently thanks to the roulette that only takes half losses on green/zero.  Grin

Which roulette is this? I always play instant roulette and green/zero is full losses as usual Smiley

I probably should try this as well as an alternative. Betting on both red and black while losing half if it hits green sounds dumb but atleast I can play with autobet so I wont have to sit and constantly click on the screen for 20-25 minutes lol.

I love autobet. I set it and let it spin and it is over in 10/15 minutes. Then I try to chase manually the losses if any. On the same game and always simple double down on loss,,, I know a bad strategy because can end up badly so I will do this until 30 days and then until 50 days ignore loss.
1604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Challenge with small investment in bitcoin on: September 28, 2021, 07:00:28 AM
I agree that the so-called "buying the dip" strategy is effective in the long run; however, what I find difficult about that strategy is market timing and determining when the dip has completed its full course.

You see, it's a little frustrating to buy what you think is a "dip" only to discover that the dip you bought is only the first 10% of a 40% drop.

Of course, that's why I wrote that it's much easier to invest $50 every week, regardless of the price, but in that way, we don't use all the opportunities that the market offers us. No one can say for sure when a dip will happen, but the fact is that we have them from time to time, and that if you have cash on hand, you can use it very easily.

The point of this whole story is that the OP has $200 and can spend it all at once each month or stick to its strategy - and after a few months he can calculate which strategy would allow him to buy more BTC for the same amount of money.

I have to chime in and agree every time someone brings up DCA because this is the only way to ensure you buy at all the dips. Remember,,, Bitcoin spends 10% of its time in the highest price and 90% of its time in the lowest price range. Well ok I know the stats are not really like this but the majority of time it is low and minority of time only in a rally. So DCA is majority good buys will always more than even out the not so good buys.

It is only frustrating to buy the "not real" dip if you are a trader Smiley
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 【I am in China】About China 2021/09/24 FUD on: September 28, 2021, 05:59:30 AM
Thank you for sharing OP and I think we need more people like you to explain and share what is really happening.

According to posts I read from the week since the announcement though,,, people are saying it is still not illegal to exchange between people, after all crypto itself is not banned, now only mining and exchange transactions. Can you confirm it is true?
1606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 28, 2021, 05:25:23 AM
You are very correct, but I think Manchester United  with this kind of players they have, they can't win the champions league, despite the fact they have a big name like Christiano Ronaldo.Only one player cannot make them win it no matter how he tried.

The problem is under their old manager Ferguson,,, he did this a few times and won the league with just buying one big expensive player or rather, putting everything on one special guy. Eric Cantona was the early example and in fact, Ferguson retired but in his final season bought Robbie van Persie who won the league for United just from his goals. That showed the template and everybody tried to follow.
1607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 28, 2021, 05:02:14 AM
Leeds is giving me hard times, they are real bad at the moment, hopefully they will improve
on the other side, Everton is having another good start, which is great Smiley

Leeds are actually playing like most promoted teams, impressing all the premier league teams, and then getting very tired and out of ideas when their teams are getting injured or exhausted,,, Norwich is problematic too because they keep getting promoted and relegated and each time up they are doing worse than before.

I apologize to anyone who predicted Spurs

As an Arsenal fan, no apology needed!  Grin

Sorry to rub it in, but it was it sure is nice to see the Gunners firing live rounds and not duds as they had for the first three matches of the season.  Three wins in a row, Arteta must be a genius.  I can't believe anyone would ever talk bad about him.  Wink

Another big win for me this round; I'm no longer at the bottom of the leaderboard!  Yaaaay!  Sorry to Welsh for trading places.  Well, at least I'll be polite enough to say I'm sorry.  Cool

No problem,,, just keep rubbing it in because we deserve it. And Arsenal deserve to win also, as I said before people forgot how tough their opponents were in the first 3 matches plus Spurs won against City and that gave everybody the wrong expectations.
1608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: September 27, 2021, 06:02:48 PM
Taking into account that Dybala and Morata are injured and will miss the match with Chelsea, it can be assumed that Chelsea will at least play a clean draw. As I see from the odds, the bookmakers strongly doubt that Juventus will play at least a draw:
4,10 - 3,55 - 1,95
I wonder if the bookmakers will adjust the odds or is it already adjusted? Has anyone followed the history of odds changes in this pair?

And now taking into account they finally lost their perfect record in EPL, and missed the chance to be the only manager to beat Pep in four straight meetings,,, they will for sure try to make up for it in Champions League. This is so far the most important game because whoever wins this is only 4 points away from getting out of the group.

1610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elizabeth Warren claims on: September 27, 2021, 04:06:14 PM
HODLing doesn't count as use for the purposes of comparing the relative occurrence of scams in crypto and fiat.  If you take two similar scenarios - like buying something on a p2p market with crypto or with fiat, the chance of getting scammed when you use crypto is higher, because there's no chargebacks and the receiver is pseudonymous.

Have to agree here because I personally know several socalled HODLers who actually just bought Bitcoin at a platform or app and kept everything there,,, every time they buy it is just their balance on that account that is growing.

Not once did they even actually make a real Bitcoin transaction,,, and they hate to hear about private keys and network fees etc.
1611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 27, 2021, 03:33:31 PM
Mosala and hahay have a great start and they are rewarded with the top 2 spots in the overall leaderboard, well done!

Nice job on your actual money betting morvillz7z Smiley This is actually my 3rd or 4th Superbru pool or something and it is one of my better attempts but look,,, the season is only less than 20% gone!

BTTS is a great market but I usually play it only on games between similar opponents. For instance I would never played it on Milan game, that one had clear home win written all over it. Got all my Serie A games correct except for Cagliari, can't believe they lost and without scoring a goal.

Cagliari again!

Tonight is a sure BTTS I think,,, and my prediction is a simple draw for now.
1612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance NonVerified Account Questions. on: September 27, 2021, 01:41:11 PM
Is there a way to confirm if ones binance account cannot be allowed to trade and can withdraw only?

I logged into my binance account and went to classic trade and went to see if i could trade my altcoin for btc.  Thus it seem like i could click on sell that altcoin.  But when you click on sell altcoin... does it automatically trade to btc?  Or it ask for confirmation?  Just want to make sure.

Well the problem for you is you already have the altcoin inside,,, so instead of trading, I would assume you just want to withdraw it all, you should do that.

Trade and you should expect to be asked to verify if the limit is more than 0.06 btc.

Remember, even if you do not KYC, what you deposit is still rightfully yours and even if they close your account they must give this back to you (minus fees).
1613  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: September 27, 2021, 01:06:11 PM
It was not a mistake to bet on them, and they had many more chances but just did not convert.
Yes, it`s true. But i really think that to bet in such cup games is mistake. I mean that we don`t know surely couch plans. For example - the previous season United tried to win all cups and now they start with full rotation players. And WHU is rather good team with several good players. In such situation we can say smth correct only 1 hour before the game, after starting lineup announced.

Speaking of cup games we have some coming up in the next few days, but of course this is the cup everybody desires the most or at least, people who already won the local leagues want to also call themselves the best in Europe with Champions League.

Despite more importance placed on this UCL, it is also a cup game at the end of the day,,, and that means a lot of surprises.

Spurs are in Conference of course so I have to support that small one Smiley
1614  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price suppression - futures volume vs spot volume on: September 27, 2021, 11:51:21 AM
The change is the amount. You are 100% right about what you said, however the psychology of people changed because of the price. When it is few thousand dollars then people do assume 2x is easier, so from 3k to 6k sounds easier, and if it is 5 tk 10k that is still easier, or even 9k to 18k could become relatively easy. However when you are at 40k, it is harder to reach to 80k, or at least that is how people assume which is not half wrong but not fully right neither.

And you cannot really blame people in crypto for thinking like this because every cycle has become smaller in the multiples. I was lucky to see BTC go from below 1000 to 20k, and this year so far it has only did 3x from 20k to 64k.

At the same time people keep looking at other alts still doing 100x and 1000x and the main difference is in price.
1615  Economy / Economics / Re: How has inflation affected your savings and investing? on: September 27, 2021, 11:19:03 AM
For me,,, very badly but not in the way I expected.

Most people think inflation means they save even more,,, or put it in even higher yield programs like insurance mutual funds are so popular now compared to bank schemes. I still choose banks but only using government backed long term funds.

But the fact is inflation is growing faster than interest so I am saving less and less,,, and investing more and more in Bitcoin and pension funds.
1616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 27, 2021, 10:01:15 AM
It's actually funny how Chelsea wants to own all the stars in their. I wonder what Tuchel is planning next. I mean he has already been to the biggest stage and conquered it. Chiesa would be a great addition though. Dude is really terrific especially when he's at his best. Always an impact whether as a starter or as a substitute. As for Barcelona and Dembele, I expect him to sign a new country at Barca. Messi might be gone but he still likes it at the Nou camp.

Roman Abramovich guy,,, that billionaire has been wanting to build his own version of Real Madrid for many years now and since then even PSG owners have tried to do the same and arguably they have succeeded without winning anything.

This is nothing to do with Tuchel and everything to do with the Russian owners.

But the effect of all these stars going to England is many will fail to prove themselves just like many Chelsea players like Pulisic and Werner have seen!
1617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did not expect the Chinese government to promote the rise of decentralization on: September 27, 2021, 09:37:37 AM
I wish that were as true as you say it is. The fact is that this recent announcement by their banks only affected traders not bitcoin users. The thing about exchanges is also proving that the only effect this had was on those who were day trading bitcoin. DEX is also for traders not bitcoin users.
Otherwise people can continue accepting bitcoin as payment and paying with it at the same time, just like before since bitcoin was always decentralized and is not affected by what some banksters say.

Correct,,, which means most of the people affected will not be those on this forum (as much as I actually do not think there are many users here who are from China).

But I would say judging from people online, including Chinese users, no one has been complaining or worried mainly because they are simply users or part time traders, not heavy duty speculators.
1618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: September 27, 2021, 09:03:33 AM
No I did not, I dropped out a day before first reward Smiley But I would have lost it anyway since free spins never work out for me.

As I said my only problem with the promo was that feeling that I have to do it every day and I had really crazy week. Than I played 5 mBTC on red or black while walking to the toilet to take the leak, 2 days in a row. Won one, lost one so break even but that is not something I wanted to do more often. I tried playing on both red/black once and got 3 zeros in 10 runs so that was out of question for me.

My local bookie has similar promos but they give you 2 jokers per months, meaning you can miss 2 days and still be in the running for the prize. Good thing Sportsbet is giving us so many different promos so there is something for everybody.

Oh sorry,,, I misread your post then:) Yeah usually free spins do not work with me either and this was probably the first time in my life I ever played Baccarat,,, and nice to win back over 1 mbtc from it so it helps to even out losses so far.

I think this promo is very hard to do also especially if you use internet from work like me, but luckily my shifts end in between days on casino time so I can play my off days anyway but still I would like this Joker option or holiday option. I even had to play on my holiday and it was very hard.
1619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 27, 2021, 05:43:33 AM
I apologize to anyone who predicted Spurs, on behalf of my team, but I also want to remind everyone when it comes to Spurs,,, be prepared for maximum disappointment and minimum satisfaction, hence three 1-0 wins followed by 3 games letting in 3 goals each.

Son and Kane will find a way to score again but not when our team is just so weak at the core.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org hacked. on: September 27, 2021, 05:07:12 AM
I barely ever use that site, i have no need for it. I think i went once to download the whitepaper or something, or to do a quick glimpse at other wallets available. As for your question, about where to learn about Bitcoin, the answer is obvious: Bitcointalk Smiley

You see, actual newbies will sadly land into bitcoin.com, if they aren't savvy enough to distinguish a legit site from a deface, they are even less to notice .com to .org

Yes,,, I know how it works and I know it is not often used, but still everyone must have seen it at least once and used it to see the whitepaper, google still brings it up as an early hit on search results.

Bitcointalk is where people learn about Bitcoin at a second or even third stage, but I guess the scene and search results have changed since I last knew as a newbie in 2016-2017  Undecided
