2481  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS leader, Baghdadi, says "Islam was never a religion of peace. on: May 17, 2015, 04:35:39 PM
....
But what does it mean "jihad"? Sometime ago, I have asked one my muslim friend and he told me that it is not a question of  war/kill etc.... but jihad means an effort for 'you' to help others and spread the Islam religion. Now I do not think the ISIS members are muslim due this fact, they are not spreading the Islam (the contrary). Now I do not know if this is true (but I suppose : yes). Maybe someone here can say what does it mean "jihad".

http://islamicsupremecouncil.org/understanding-islam/legal-rulings/5-jihad-a-misunderstood-concept-from-islam.html?start=9

So basically (quoting some parts here):

- The Arabic word "jihad" is often translated as "holy war," but in a purely linguistic sense, the word " jihad" means struggling or striving.
- The arabic word for war is: "al-harb".
...
- The concept of jihad has been hijacked by many political and religious groups over the ages in a bid to justify various forms of violence. In most cases, Islamic splinter groups invoked jihad to fight against the established Islamic order. Scholars say this misuse of jihad contradicts Islam.
- Examples of sanctioned military jihad include the Muslims' defensive battles against the Crusaders in medieval times, and before that some responses by Muslims against Byzantine and Persian attacks during the period of the early Islamic conquests.

What the hell ? It is destroying all the concept, proclaim themselves muslim it is so simple ... but be a muslim is really 'hard'.
2482  Other / Meta / Re: how to earn activity ? on: May 17, 2015, 03:33:19 PM
{...} In those two weeks you only have to post once to get it. {...}

If your post count is equal to activity, you will need to make 14 posts to get 14 activity point.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0#post_faq

Yes, but minimum 1 post per day... because the OP can think I will make 14 posts in one day and I am ok (it is not so simple). Basically you earn 1 activity point each day , but these points will 'appear' and the end of the 14 days.
2483  Economy / Economics / Re: money laundering on: May 17, 2015, 03:28:18 PM
is bitcoin open way forward money launderer to get safe money,i asked that because its appear that bitcoins is verry hard to control or track

As already said, it's not that hard to track.

There're other coins that declare being untraceable, but as far as I know, any bitcoin-based coin is easy to track. It's considered that cryptonote coins' transactions, though, are really imppossible to track Cool Cool Cool

But to access cryptonote coins (namely Monero) you still need Bitcoin, and the Bitcoin transaction where you bought Monero with would still show up, so whats the point. Unless the Monero coins you have were mined, their origin will most likely be trade for BTC in some exchange.

The point is probably that after that, you cannot follow the monero coins any more.  That's the point.  Of course you can see that a guy deposited half a million $ in an exchange to get bitcoins.  Then you can trace those bitcoins to an exchange that has monero on its list.  And from there on, you don't know anything any more of where that money went, contrary to the bitcoin block chain.

And thats why the authorities would follow by asking, "where did that million dollars that went into X exchange then to XMR ended up at?"
You better have a convincing answer, but chances are you'll not.

Bitcoin is pseudoAnonym and Monero is not very "anonymous" (in respect of  BTC). The problem will be always the FIAT money deposited in the exchange, unless you mine bitcoin or all the other cryptocurrency directly Wink.

OP, if you want to "launder" some dollars , then bitcoin is a good way... because you can still sell your dollars (cash) to someone that is available to buy $$ for bitcoin.
2484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dark Net Weapons Bust Leads To 17 Arrests and a $80,000 Bitcoin Seizure on: May 17, 2015, 03:05:04 PM
It makes me laugh when people say bitcoin is a bad thing because of stories like this.
Bitcoin is used to buy weapons & drugs?
What % of weapon trading & the worldwide drug market is bitcoin involved in?
I don't have facts & figures but the answer will be absolutely minimal.

I'd say to people trying to discredit bitcoin because of the above, 'lets ban fiat because people use it to buy weapons & drugs'.
See how ridiculous that sounds?
I just can't get my head around it, as long as guns & drugs exist people will buy them with any store of value they have available to them.

I still don't get it, why do most of the people in the world believe that bitcoin is more evil compared to its fiat counterpart when in fact, illegal tradings and activity are heavily present in fiat compared to bitcoin. Funny how they throw stones in a thing that could help them and they look blindly upon a thing that's been enslaving them for almost a long time now. When will people realize the difference between the two?

It is normal for us to say bitcoin is a good thing, because we know & use it. This thing it is for everything, If you do not know a thing then you are worried by it... for example : religions, culture, politics, etc.. (everything in this life) that makes you to think a thing is a 'bad' thing, it is a normal "thought' (and these news don't really help to go mainstream).
2485  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie accounts used for trolling on: May 17, 2015, 02:55:36 PM
Well known troller clowns are creating accounts to troll with like it's nothing, why can't an admin not simply set a limit of accounts being created per person per timeframe.

For example 1 account per week or so, that would reduce these nonsense threads by a lot.

What 'reference' will you use to create and apply this limit, the trolls can use unlimited IPs (through : vpn, proxy or tor). I think it is not so simple, the unique way is to continue report the posts and the Staff will check those users.
2486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dark Net Weapons Bust Leads To 17 Arrests and a $80,000 Bitcoin Seizure on: May 17, 2015, 02:32:07 PM
....
This is not about making bitcoin mainstream but using bitcoin as a bad thing. People who are blind about bitcoin will now think that bitcoin is currency for criminal thing. The reason people like to use bitcoin is that it is easier and no question ask when you are doing large value transaction. In my country if you are making transaction which is large enough there will be a lot of question to be ask on what will the money use for
Exactly, but a lot of people are still associating bitcoin only to bad or better illegal things (as drug, trade of weapons, etc). So yes, it is a problem for bitcoin but the problem is not BTC itselft but always the people.

Like when computer is a new thing for the world and some bad guy use computer to hack the system, It was then considered that computer is a bad thing . This is happening as well for bitcoin right now
...

I think there are some people that are still thinking this thing so it is normal, maybe we should only wait and continue to spread 'bitcoin' to our friends and relatives (and one day the mentality will change).
2487  Other / Meta / Re: A interesting phenomenon I just found on: May 17, 2015, 02:26:18 PM
why most of us didn't update the avatar with our real picture like we have done on facebook & twitter?

Another question: Why should someone put his real picture as avatar here in the forum? Everyone is free to choose his avatar, and this is a normal thing (on every forum).

However this thread is in the wrong section, move it in the appropriate one.  (ctrl + f , search "move topic" >> and choose the correct section | probable "Meta").
2488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am 90% sure that "EhVedadooAnonimato" is Satoshi on: May 17, 2015, 01:14:45 PM
OH!

Now I get it....

The OP is obsessed about finding Satoshi.
Check out his signature:

I am 100% sure that Satoshi Nakamoto is António Franco Alexandre, a bright old-school mathematician from Harvard.

OP, you need to relax a bit.  Wink

I think the OP is talking about his forum account (here at bitcointalk.org).

who is António Franco Alexandre?

I think:

2489  Economy / Lending / Re: 1.7 btc loan for my psn account as a collateral on: May 17, 2015, 01:01:29 PM
You know the collateral you provide doesn't have avalue of 1.7BTC.

-snip-
 TOTAL= $288 = 1.2251 BTC
 -snip-

$288 =

Provide a collateral worth at least the amount you borrow.

but it's not "market" value… You have to find one interested and pay the amount you ask and maybe is not simple!

Yes it is not simple, I am still searching someone that want to buy from me 1 btc for 1'000 dollars . There is something named "market value" and you cannot sell a thing over the market price (simple because it is impossible that you will find someone that will give you 1.70 bitcoin for a collateral of 288 dollars ... when at the moment 1.70 = ~ 420 dollars).
2490  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS leader, Baghdadi, says "Islam was never a religion of peace. on: May 17, 2015, 12:47:01 PM
-snip-
The speaker says: "There is no excuse for any Muslim not to migrate to the Islamic State... joining [its fight] is a duty on every Muslim. We are calling on you either to join or carry weapons [to fight] wherever you are."
 -snip-

A duty? No excususes? Cheesy There are many reasons/excuses for not joining this innocents-killing army. I really hope he knows what he is talking about. There is nothing hidden in what he is, just a political psycho.

Excuses for jihad?
1. al-Baqarah: 216
2. an-Nisa’: 74
3. at-Tawbah: 38-39
4. Muhammad: 4-6
5. at-Tawbah: 41
and more...

Yes, nothing hidden, his lineage all the way back to the prophet Muhammad (PBUH), don't you know?

Out of context verses. You should look what these verses tell. The verses you picked doesn't end there or start there. Those verses tell to fight when the non-Muslims at the time of prophet tortured and killed many Muslims. Muslims had no choice other than to fight and these verses came at that time. It is mentioned in Qur'an that if the non-Muslims(at the time of prophet) didn't want to fight, don't hurt them.

2491  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] iMac or Macbook on: May 17, 2015, 12:22:07 PM
where is the honesty and seriousness?

On an internet forum? Hah, that's funny Smiley

Yes why not? Behind a forum users there is an human or person, so why can't he be honest? However I didn't find anything of interesting (for me) outside of this forum, the asking price is too damn high  Grin.
It's high because you need an MacBook / iMac. It's Apple! Cheesy
Just buy normal PC / Laptop if you need something cheap..

I would like a MacBook or iMac because  I have already a few laptop(s). So are you saying that the apple (the fruit) gives more value to the device?

Yes it does, but maybe you don't know it  Wink Why are five years old iPhones still on that high prices, like MacBooks?

I think because there are a lot of people buying those products for an high price, but this is not the case. I would like to buy an 'Apple' device, for the right price (looking the hardware, software etc...).
Good luck then, there's no chance you will find it, because Apple devices are all overpriced and no one will sell it for normal price..

Thanks, I know apple products are overpriced but I want to try ... maybe I will be lucky and I'll find something. However I am still searching, feel free to send me a PM.

Have a great day.
2492  Other / Meta / Re: Quick question on: May 17, 2015, 12:04:55 PM
Vod is trusted by Dooglus & Tomatocage and already untrusted by HostFat. In this scenario, if another user of DefaultTrust level 1 untrust Vod in their trust list, then will Vod's feedbacks lose its power to turn someone red/green ?

People who exclude must be greater than people who include Vod to loose his power.

Dooglus, Tomatocage & HostFat all are in DefaultTrust level 1. Now, how do I know who is in greater power than the other ?

Maybe a combination of oldness & personal trust, but please don't turn this thread in a topic about Vod.
2493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am 90% sure that "EhVedadooAnonimato" is Satoshi on: May 17, 2015, 11:31:13 AM
Unfortunately Theymos is giving people way too much freedom here. These threads are starting to become annoying and should be punishable. I wonder, does the ignore list have a limit as one has to add tens of people daily?

These threads are useless. You can only speculate which is pointless. If you're a person who does pointless things to waste his time, fine. Just don't waste everyone else's time in the process. Unless you find hard proof (which you won't), you can claim nothing.
Let Satoshi in peace.

Freedom of speech but not to spam, however like you know ... use the ignore function Wink. The OP is only curious but this is not a bitcoin discussion, so I think the thread should be moved in an appropriate section.

OP, I do no think EhVedadoOAnonimato is satoshi.
2494  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Increase your bitcoins by .5% per day!!! on: May 17, 2015, 11:23:15 AM
With the differnce that it´s an investment and not begging or a loan or wahtever you call it.

The problem is that "this is the lending section" it is not the investment section. If you want a loan please provide a valid collateral Wink (it is simple, but some people can't understand).
2495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New York Times identifies Nick Szabo as Satoshi Nakamoto on: May 17, 2015, 11:21:49 AM
You are all wrong with your guesses.

But no worry I will tell who he is.

It is Nick Szabo. There I said it and take all the credit for finding him. No one guessed it before yet now prove me wrong.
A book is coming soon so everyone go pre-order and bring me revenues.

It is.... I think you wanted to say "He is" or are you thinking that Satoshi Nakamoto is a "thing" a machine, hardware or computer? We are waiting the book, and remember to sold it only for bitcoin!
2496  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Increase your bitcoins by .5% per day!!! on: May 17, 2015, 11:14:46 AM

Roll Eyes Now I think you can close this thread, no one will give you some BTC for free  (basically you are begging, or asking a loan ... where is the valid collateral?).

2498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dark Net Weapons Bust Leads To 17 Arrests and a $80,000 Bitcoin Seizure on: May 17, 2015, 10:49:10 AM
I'm not surprised at all. Eventually almost everyone gets caught (I said almost). They definitely aren't doing enough to keep themselves safe.

Actually the only problem here is that they are getting caught, else it would be helping Bitcoin go mainstream.   Wink
I hope bitcoin will go mainstream, but I think BTC have not been made to go "mainstream" but to be a valid alternative and can maybe coexist with the actual economic system.

....
This is not about making bitcoin mainstream but using bitcoin as a bad thing. People who are blind about bitcoin will now think that bitcoin is currency for criminal thing. ...
For hundreds of years FIAT dominated these markets and that did not stop people using FIAT in mainstream. So, why on earth, the use of bitcoin in these businesses hinder bitcoin's mainstream growth ? Rather, I think, because of bitcoin's use law enforcement are getting trails of these businesses.
I do not know what should I reply but read above...
2499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Dark Net Weapons Bust Leads To 17 Arrests and a $80,000 Bitcoin Seizure on: May 17, 2015, 10:28:17 AM
A recent series of busts has shaken the world of dark net weapons commerce. A six-month joint investigation between law enforcement in Australia and the United States, which involved law enforcement going undercover as weapons dealers,  has resulted in 17 arrests internationally.

In September 2014, the US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) identified a 33-year-old US-based dark net seller of weapons to a “worldwide client base,” according to a press release from the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

....

These things will not help bitcoin to go mainstream, I also know you can (maybe) do these things also with all the FIAT currencies... but people like to use bitcoin....
2500  Economy / Lending / Re: [Required] 0.145BTC loan. on: May 17, 2015, 10:16:53 AM
Hello community ,
I'm looking for a 0.145BTC loan ,which will be repaid by the 23 of May .

I will repay 0.16BTC by this date .

I'm sorry ,but i don't have any collateral at this point.

Let me know if you can help ,
Best regards.

Hmm.. 0.145 bitcoin and no collateral? It is so risky and you can abandon this full member account without repaying the loan...

I'd offer one of my Casascius coins ,but the loaning period time is too short ,and the amount is too small :\
By keeping in mind that "Anything can happen" ,you're probably right ..

I won't do this ,and i hope someone will trust me on this .
By looking at this forum , i probably can just sell it for a price that is higher then 0.15BTC .

I don't want to lose my account :\ ,I'm looking for a quick loan ...

Can you provide a digital goods or altcoin as collateral? I know everything is possible, and I would like to help you... but 0.145 bitcoin without a valid collateral (it is really a risk). For the question about the Casascius coin, yes you are right ... you can sell it (but I think you don't want or am I wrong?).

Can I ask you what will you do with these 0.145 BTC?
