2501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scam increasing on social media on: June 06, 2022, 05:44:16 PM
The funniest to me is that scam is not new on social media, but it is becoming commoner and the scam on social media regard crypto is increasing, definitely all other scam are increasing on social media. When social media is not a place of privacy, why not require for ID documents for better KYC procedure than focusing most only on exchanges
Social media users can't be expected to fulfil stringent KYC protocols before creating an account on a social media platform, similar to procedures required when creating an exchange account. Social media platforms are by design for interaction between people, and not necessarily a high-risk platform for trade/where money can be lost, i know quite a lot go on in our social media today, but that isn't its purpose, it is just that, as people interact with one another, there is also a high chance they would talk to a scammer sooner or later, and if they are not shrewd, they would lose funds to that person, but as a result of their own folly.

An Exchange is an area of trade, it is a platform where quite a lot of money goes in and out of, it is only necessary that KYC and AML policies and stamped in such platforms, it is by design a high-risk space where people can lose funds/get scammed. Social media doesn't really need these, people need to just get less greedy and actually think before attempting to make some fast money for themselves.

There are some interesting rumours about Gabriel Jesus now. It is said that Arsenal are prepared to pay £190,000 per week to him to bring him this summer. It means that he will earn £100,000 more weekly. It would be a very favorable deal for Gabriel Jesus I assume. After Erling Haaland's coming here, Gabriel Jesus won't be able to have much chance in the end. It would be the best for him to leave and join a team that he can play in the starting eleven regularly. Arsenal are one of the best choices for him because of that.
I am pretty sure things are so clear to Gabriel, he understands that Pep might still want him in the club, but sufficient playing time is anything but guaranteed, i know Pep doesn't guarantee any of his players a starting position in the team, as you'd have to work hard to show you really deserve to start. But in the case of Gabriel, he would be competing/fighting for his place with two wonderful attacking options in Haaland and Alvarez, i'm afraid it is not a 'fight' i think Gabriel can win. Arsenal are a good option, he gets to stay in the EPL, and work with a manager that he is familiar with in Arteta, it is good for both parties, the only issue would be City's asking price, i sincerely hope it is something that Arsenal will be willing to pay.

It is really sad to say the least, right after watching the video i just can't stop putting myself in the shoes of the victims, it could have been me, or anyone else, their only crime is that they are Nigerians and that they decided to go to the place of worship on a Sunday. The truth be say time don come wey we as Nigerians suppose take the bull by the horn, we no fit let this bad leadership of a thing continue, insecurity na one of our biggest challenge as a country now, yet our president no even care, he doesn't even seem to understand the sufferings of his people. Tinubu wan come rule, abi na Atiku or Osinbajo, and people go they talk say make we face "reality", we are tired of facing reality, we must vote credibility this time around, and Peter Obi is the most credible candidate, if Peter Obi no win 2023 election, the suffering wey we dy experience now fit be child's play to wetin they for front they wait for us.
2504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin thrives on education and self-sovereignty on: June 05, 2022, 06:58:49 PM
And Bitcoin is not the get rich quick scheme some new investors are hoping for.
Quite a lot of people take Bitcoin to be so, they basically want to invest in it, make profits and that's that, but Bitcoin is quite different from altcoins that are short term projects, if investors are looking for get rich quick schemes, then i am afraid they must look in the direction of altcoins. As many investors that want to speculate with the price of Bitcoin must understand that Bitcoin is a long term project, and speculators will more or less make profits in the long run, not quickly.

Having said that, in as much as i do not really think we should be telling people how to use their Bitcoins, more people need to understand that Bitcoin is also money that can be used for making purchases in places that it is accepted, for now Bitcoin as a payment method is not all that popular, but somewhere along the line on the road to adoption it would be, thus for users who are privy to have places around them where they can spend Bitcoin for commodities and who do not mind at all, they can try to do so once in a while, to actually get that feeling of using your Bitcoin as actual money.
2505  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: June 05, 2022, 12:12:42 PM
According to them, Nigeria might someday consider BTC as a form of payment, but it would never replace the Naira. They added that using it as Naira would contravene the constitutional purview of the CBN.
I do not really get their point here bro, if we (Nigeria) are ever going to make Bitcoin a legal tender here, it doesn't mean that it is then going to replace the Naira. Take eye look the two countries wey don make Bitcoin Legal tender, e no mean say bitcoin come turn to their number one currency na, or say e replace their fiat currency, na alternative wey bitcoin still be, just that the government come make am Legally acceptable for their country. All this one be like excuse for my eye oh, abi them no really understand wetin them they talk. Bitcoin is never going to replace the fiat currency of any country, the naira inclusive. What do they even mean by "using it as naira...", It can't be used as naira in the first place, they are two different types of currency, one physical and issued by the central government, the other, Bitcoin isn't physical, is decentralized, and issued by no central authority but the proof-of-work algorithm (mining), so they definitely can't be used alike.
2506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LUNA 2.0 can Recover previous price? on: June 05, 2022, 11:29:54 AM
Can LUNA return to its previous position? Can it reach up to $100 again? And how reasonable it is to invest in LUNA now?
I would categorically state no, anyone still investing in this project does so at his or her own risk, isn't it pretty obvious that all of these attempt by the Luna team to try and save the coin is going to be more or less futile/fruitless. Investors on this project would be considerably low at the moment, for obvious reasons actually, thus how is the coin going to pump/rise again when demand is going to be at its lowest.

Having said that, people should understand that the root of the problem is not just Luna, but altcoins, and what happened to Luna could and in the future can happen to any altcoin, majority of altcoins are short term/pump and dump coins that have no real utility, other than hype and fake promises backing them up, sooner or later such coins are bound to lose their hype and dump out of the market. The thing is, investors should never forget to take altcoins as short term projects, meaning once you make profits, you pull out, do not hold, doing so would only accrue you losses in the long run.
2507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 05, 2022, 11:19:19 AM
Going back to Serie A is good, not only Inter Milan. Lukaku is strong and he can use his physical strength as one of his biggest advatanges when playing in Serie A. Bayern Munich and Bundesliga is not bad option. It is another league for Lukaku to explore. Lewandowski is not a too speedy striker so Lukaku has less worry to replace Lewy and his adaptation to Bundesliga. Bayer is also looking for a replacement for Lewy.
Lukaku doesn't look to me like a striker that Bayern would fancy that much, i am not saying it is a completely impossible move, but it is close to that, Lukaku is more about his strength than his clinicality and precision, and Bayern is more of a technical team, and i think Lukaku would be unsuitable for them.

Having said that, a return to the Italian Seria A looks like the best option, but Chelsea would be sweating currently, they spent quite a lot of money on this player less than a year or so ago, and now he wants to leave, and that is not just the problem, if the blues are to sell him, they are going to run at a huge loss, cause i do not think any club would take Lukaku close to the amount Chelsea spent on him, not to even talk of footing his wages. I think the way out for Lukaku at this point in time would be via loan, but whichever it is, Chelsea are the real losers in all of these.
2508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 03, 2022, 02:18:35 PM
I think, this their new manager will help Manchester United to improve in next season because he has promised the team to help them to achieve next season title.
Mind you that Erik has never made a statement as to him attempting to lead Manchester United to the title next season, that in my opinion is even an impossible feat for him to achieve, at least next season. There could prolly be improvements in United's overall gameplay, with the way Erik has come in, flushing away dead wood players and looking to do some good business this summer, coupled with the fact that he is also here on the back of winning the league in his former club, so it is a pretty impressive C.V honestly; and i can bet United's performance would greatly improve.

But can they win the league? Absolutely no, there is no chance for them to do that as of yet, they seem to be in their restructuring stage, and that could take quite a while, a top four finish next season would not be too bad, and then they can try to win one of the domestic cups (either the carabao or FA cup), and who knows, it could be a sign of good things to come some seasons later.
2509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 02, 2022, 07:39:03 PM
Actually, I don't think Mane said he wanted to move to another team next season, but it was Liverpool's decision to sell him to Bayern Munich.
Are you sure about that, reports have it that it is Mane that is seeking an exit from the club, it looks like he wants to try a different league and a whole new challenge and competition, honestly i can't see a reason as to why Liverpool would make a decision to sell Mane, he is still delivering superbly for the club, his performance didn't drop even the slightest bit as well. It has to be that it is Mane who wants out. I could still be wrong, but that is what i honestly feel is going on with this Mane transfer news.
2510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 winner - Real Madrid! on: June 02, 2022, 05:22:47 PM
If any clubs want to play well on a platform like the Champions League, they definitely need an experienced coach. Whoever coordinates the players will make the team stronger. And so even if PSG's squad is strong, if they do not hire experienced coaches, they will not be able to perform well in the Champions League next season.
While having an experienced coach is a good advantage for any team, it is not the most important factor necessary to win the CL, every coach that has won the CL, definitely had a first time of winning it, and that time such coach was definitely not considered as being experienced per se, there have also been coaches that have come out of nowhere to win the CL, like Di Matteo of Chelsea for example. What is most important remains the players, not just their individual skills, but togetherness/ability to work together, character and very importantly, mentality. Pochettino has quite a lot of stars a his disposal, now he must build a 'team' out of them, in order for them to become a force in the CL next season.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 02, 2022, 04:05:35 PM
Manchester United are going to lose Paul Pogba this summer I'm afraid. He already made his decision and he is leaving in a month I assume. After this bad news for Manchester United, I have heard that they are preparing for a serious move for Barcelona's young midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
I do not really know what is "bad news" about Pogba's United exit, he has been at the club for around 6 years or so, and in all those years, not even for a single season did he live up to expectations that was put on his shoulders upon arrival. To be honest with you, Pogba's exit is good news for both parties, now the club can seriously start looking for replacements. Manchester United need to flush out quite a lot of players that aren't worthy to put on their Jersey, they need fresh players that actually have the zeal to work hard and give it their all every three days.

Having said that, it is also good for Pogba that he has left the Old Trafford, cause to be fair to him, you could say United didn't just work out fine for him, so now another opportunity presents itself; he would definitely move to a big team, so it is time to start proving himself all over again.
2512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 01, 2022, 06:21:23 PM
I'm not sure Erik ten Hag will quickly bring success to Manchester United, but if Erik ten Hag can really make good and fast changes then surely Erik ten Hag cannot be underestimated.
Well it depends on the kind of "success" we are talking about here, i am pretty sure the United board are pretty aware that no matter how much they invest this summer, Erik winning the EPL for them next season is almost impossible, United is more or less like a disjointed group that will take some time to fix, and it will take Erik quite some time to get the boys going again, they need confidence and hopefully he would be able to build it back again in the players.

Having said that, what would be expected of Erik is to make Manchester United competitors again, they have to compete like a big team, they were more or less whipping boys last season, and that really cannot continue in the new season, they have to start playing like a big team, with desire and will to win, that is the only way they can get back to winning ways and in a couple of seasons win the EPL again.
2513  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before Bitcoin education, teach your children cyber security education. on: June 01, 2022, 06:05:37 PM
After few days, my children told me how they had informed their friends that I own Bitcoin and have “plenty dollars”. And my children advised these friends to tell their parents so that they can earn dollars.
That ricocheted back at you pretty quick, sometimes this is actually almost inevitable, whether you told your children about Bitcoin or not, whenever you are living a good life and taking very good care of your family, the little kids tend to talk to their friends about it in school, about how their dad did X and Y for them, so if you did mention Bitcoin to them, chances are very high they would spill the bean. Well the case of Bitcoin is only somewhat different because of the misconception people have when they see a Bitcoin speculator, hodler or user, the immediate thought is that the person is rich and who knows what that could lead to.

Having said that, i have the advantage of learning from all you guys about the best action to take on this matter as i am yet to have kids, i will very soon anyway. But for now i think the con of introducing kids to Bitcoin pretty early outweighs the pro, so i might just teach them about other things and leave Bitcoin for last.
2514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 31, 2022, 07:45:39 PM
I think Liverpool will make a mistake if they let Mane go to Bayern, the fans will feel very sad if Mane leaves Liverpool because they think Mane still has the ability to achieve more achievements in the next season with Liverpool and also Mane is loved by the fans.  Liverpool fans, except for Mane asking to be sold because the news of a rift with Salah after the world cup qualifying match some time ago is true.
Of course the Liverpool fans wholly adore Mane, and quite a lot of them would go a long way to ensure he remains in the club, but it is what it is, and it is not up to them. From how the situation is panning out, it seems it is actually Mane that wants to leave the team, though i do not think it is because of any rift with Salah, i feel Mane wants to leave cause he wants to get another experience in another team and in a different league, that reason is understandable. And when a player like Mane who has given his all for the club approaches the board with the desire to leave, there is no way they can try to hold him back, except if the clubs seeking his signature do not come with the asking price.
Sterling is a player whose price is still quite high at the moment, his contract expires next season but his market price is still €85. I don't know if he's really wanted by Real Madrid, but I don't think Sterling would be a good fit for Real Madrid. But anyway if Real Madrid are really interested in him then I think Manchester City will be willing to let him go if they get a reasonable offer.
I have this feeling that Sterling is not in Pep's plan for next season, i could be completely wrong with my assumptions, but with the imminent arrival of Erling Haaland and Alvarez, i think there is going to be a slight change in the way City set up for next season, and that could further reduce Sterling's playing time the more; thus i feel City will be more than willing to let him go, of course for the right price, he would be great for Real Madrid in my opinion, he is very fast and would be able to operate effectively for them on the right wing, while Vinicius causes problems from the left.
2515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 31, 2022, 07:03:50 PM
This is the best time for Manchester United to make some amends that will help them perform better in the next season, the club need new player signings and transfers that will restructure the club for better position in the next season.
I second that, Manchester United have struggled in the last couple of years, and i am pretty sure the United board know it should continue that way no longer, a lot has to be done, they have signed a good manager, but that is only a part of the job to be done, now they must work on the team, let go of players that aren't worthy of being a United player, get some new talents, build the believe and will to win back in the players and go for it next season. I know United can't win the EPL next season, but they must make efforts to compete, and that is what is expected of big clubs, they have to compete for every title they play in next season, they didn't compete at all last season, they were more or less like whipping boys.

Personally sha, I believe say one day kontri go better.
I believe so too. But for it to be better we the citizens must take action, we must exercise our rights to vote, and if we actually want things to be better we must vote for that candidate that is most credible, i know there cannot be any general consensus as to which candidate is prolly the best, but personally if you indeed know that candidate that will work better than others then vote for him, do not vote for candidates on the basis of party, bias, religion, ethnicity, or cause you were told to face 'reality', or cause you were bribed, etc, it is hightime Nigerians did what it right, if we miss this chance then another four years of suffering awaits us.
2517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No such thing as Too Big to Fail on: May 31, 2022, 06:03:50 PM
Nothing is too big to fail in crypto world, Terra Luna is a big example that the safety of your money isn't guaranteed even if you invest in top altcoins out there, it's the same risk involve with crypto generally including BTC but BTC is just way safer...
Generally when you invest in crypto, it comes with its own fair share of risks, and of course not just crypto, every investment option has its advantages and disadvantages, but investing in altcoins is quite different from putting your money in Bitcoin. Altcoins are pump and dump projects, short term 'stuffs' that sooner or later will dump, it was Luna a couple of weeks ago, mind you that the problem isn't solely with Luna, as it can be any altcoin next.

Bitcoin on the other hand can plunge/correct in price, but it is a coin that has an actual utility in our society today, that is something most, if not all altcoins can't boast of, thus a coin that has an actual utility can't dump and stay down permanently, it would definitely rise back up again, and history is in its favor as regards that.
2518  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 30, 2022, 08:20:58 PM
...say make we forget credibility as Nigeria dey far from that...
Na this kind talk wey Nigerians they talk wey go make am impossible for this country to better in a very long time, look well well everybody wan japa, wetin cause am, talk like this during crucial time to make decision wey go make country na im cause am, the one wey they burst my head pass na when you they follow Nigerians talk politics, them go tell you say "we sabi say this candidate na the best oh, but make we face reality", abeg i wan ask ehn, which reality worst pass wetin we they experience for Nigeria now, which reality worst pass the hunger, insecurity, unemployment, suffering, etc wey Nigerians they go through now, abeg make una tell me.

If Nigerians never wise up and take decision into their hands through voting the most credible candidate, then na another 8 years wey go worst pass Buhari own they come so, na make all man dy find way to japa be that, until Nigerians stop to they face this their yeye 'reality', na so so suffer go continue for the country oh.
2519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 30, 2022, 07:43:01 PM
According to report,  Chelsea are probably intention of signing Ousemane Dembele. Although Liverpool are also interested in the Frenchman, he is really in a tight position because he is yet to renew his contract with Barcelona. Dembele is in Boehly's plan for the future of the team. Perhaps he is not a starter in the catalans club and only recorded 1 goal, 13 assists in 21games for the team. He barely starts game for Xavi's side, and it's one of the reasons he needs to move to a new team.
Ousmane Dembele wasn't starting games for Barcelona at that start of last season cause he had quite a lot of problems with the club then, he also struggled with recurrent injuries at one time too, as a matter of fact it was almost certain that he was on his way out of the club during the January transfer window, but he managed to stay one way or another.

Afterwards he has been in scintilating form for Barcelona, down till the curtain was drawn on last season, i am pretty sure he is in Xavi's plan for next season, that doesn't mean he can't be sold though, because it is of course down to the player if he wants to stay or leave, and if Dembele decides to go, Barca will definitely sell him for the right price, he would be good for Chelsea by the way, as they look to make useful additions to their squad for next season after a disappointing end to last season.
2520  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learning from the dip on: May 30, 2022, 07:26:51 PM
1. Avoid falling prey to FOMO: Almost every investors see a bearish market as a means of entering the market. In dip period like this, everyone will love to buy and keep. Most go any length to get money to buy from this dip out of the fear of missing out. This make some to borrow money to invest which can be risky.
While borrowing money to invest in crypto is somewhat of a 'crime' nobody should think of, if you are accumulating Bitcoin in this dip (of course with your own money), you are doing absolutely nothing wrong, whether you are doing it out of fear of missing out or whatever, the only thing to note is that you should never expect quick returns, or hope to jump on sudden wealth, that is not going to happen, grow a Bitcoin porfolio, it doesn't matter the pace at which you do it, you are actually not supposed to even go in all at once, that would be investing more than you can afford to lose. DCA works perfectly, you can buy slowly but surely and hodl for the long term.
Latest case happens to LUNA, when Luna down, people trying to buy, they are thinking if LUNA price will be back soon. In the end, they are loss a lot of money.
Luna has been in the news for a couple of weeks now (for obvious reasons), what happened to Luna can happen to any altcoin/shitcoin, and that is what investors fail to understand, sooner rather than later another altcoin is going to come on scene, create some hype while investors start putting their money there, after a while it crashes just like Luna did, rinse and repeat; investors need to understand that the problem isn't with Luna, but it is that most altcoins have no actual utility, and as such you can't expect them not to dump.
