2501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which use case or utility will lead in 2024 or next bull market on: August 05, 2022, 08:29:20 PM
What's the next big utility for 2024/2025? Not hyped based without real use cases though, I am talking about real world use cases that can pump in billions of dollars by that time..

1. The returns of Metaverse
2. Web 3.0
3. Play to earn
4. Layer 2 projects
5. NFTs

It will probably be something we don't even know about.  In 2015 you couldn't predict that masternode coins would run wild in 2017, nor in 2019 could you predict that every meme coin would have a run.  This is how you know if there are tons of things pumping for no apparent reason it will probably crash hard sometime in the future.  Leave these things along .
2502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 05, 2022, 08:15:03 PM
When he went to the Lakers with their run on the bubble, Howard wasn't a problem in and out of the court for the Lakers. Sure he still have that antics, nevertheless he has proven himself to be effective playing the center with Anthony Davis.

Same when he moved to Sixers, no issues whatsoever with him and Joel Embiid. So not sure what you mean by attitude because it seems that he has matured already and knows where to have that "good attitude" inserted. And he didn't destroy the good chemistry in Sixers, it's that he was not a perfect fit, that's the way I look at it and that's why they have given him up and Lakers pick him up again to play last season. But right now, no teams are interested on his service.

The preseason is in full swing, and I think it's too early to say that no team is interested in Howard. I won't comment on his negative impact on team chemistry, but it seems to me he could still be useful on the court as a bench player. In addition, signing Howard wouldn't be a costly deal for the management of any team as he would most likely agree to even the minimum salary.

Yeah Howard will get onto a team he can still provide minutes.  These guys have all made theor money most at the end of theor career take the vet minimum so they can jump on a ta that has a chance to play deep into the playoffs.  Just hope the Knicks steer clear.

I think the last rumor I heard was Howard was wanted by the Nets and I think he'll be included in the trade package with Westbrook to get Kyrie Irving playing beside LBJ. If that will be the case, Howard's presence will be much needed in the Nets because they have almost no power in the center, Howard also proved that he is still valuable if he's given enough minutes every play.

Frankly, Vogel almost forgot about Howard's greatness when they won the last championship because after that year, we can only see Howard playing for a max 10 mins.

I too hope that we see Howard playing a role on a contender again.  I doubt he's going to be back to the Lakers though.  I don't see the Nets signing him just to trade him either.  The recent reports seem to suggest that the Lakers are going to trade Westbrook for Jordan Clarkson & Pat Beverly, with Donovan Mitchell going to the Knicks.  I think Jordan Clarkson is a good player but I'm not sure if he's a starter on the Lakers.  Maybe...  Pat Beverly seems like he's about done in the league too, but this shows how desperate the Lakers are to get out from under Westbrook's contract.

At this point I don't see how Mitchell goes to the Knicks.  Ainge wants both grimes as a center piece and the Knicks unprotected picks both of which the Knicks don't want to give up.  Heard they would let go of obi but they don't want to part with grimes.  With Mitchell and jalen brunson that would be one hell of a small backcourt too.  Think at this point Knicks would be better off without mitch and ride what they got.

Big names, no home. Yet.
10 of the top remaining NBA unrestricted free agents, including Carmelo Anthony and DeMarcus Cousins
1. Montrezl Harrell
2. Carmelo Anthony
3. Eric Bledsoe
4. DeMarcus Cousins
5. Avery Bradley
6. LaMarcus Aldridge
7. Dennis Schroder
8. Isaiah Thomas
9. Lou Williams
10. Dwight Howard

Which of these players do you think will find a new home before the season starts?
My picks are Demarcus Cousins and Dennis Schroder.
Cousins made a big effort during the Nuggets' run and produced good numbers and I think that's the first team that should sign him.
Schroder is young. Can be rebuilt and might make a career leading the bench team.

Most will have a place before the season ends.  Can never have enough ball handlers so Schroeder I think finds a home easy, and everyone likes a good 3pt threat so Avery Bradley should find easy as well.  The older fellas will struggle to find a home but I expect preseason someone to get hurt and these guys will eventually get scooped up.

They are quite lucky though because Jimmy Butler is still staying for the team even though he needed to carry the team most of the time, I guess Butler sees the current roster with a huge possibility to help him get another title for the team and his first ring. I can say that the team has a chance if they remain healthy throughout the whole season because in the regular games, they are so lethal.

It is worth noting that Jimmy Butler has a pretty big contract with the Heat until the end of the 24/25 season, plus he also has a player option for the 25/26 season. It means he still has enough time to win the first ring in his career, and maybe you are right that Butler sees some potential in the current team roster. In addition, I guess it's unlikely that Butler will ever request a trade as Durant did recently.

Jimmy has repeatedly said he likes it in Miami, and they are very close just a piece or 2 more and the are a perennial finals team.  I think it's kind of crazy that people ask for trades after they just signed with a team, since that's voluntarily done.  Jimmy is so underrated in this league too.  Dead on killer when it comes to big games too, I'd take him on the Knicks all day everyday before I'd want donovan Mitchell.

What are the Gem coins you just discovered, guys?
Everyone share their newly found Gem coins here and let's help each other.
The new gem I found; Flash Loans

I know it's an older post but you made this post at the tippy top of the market.  How easy things change in not even a full year.  Will go through the thread and see people's picks but if I had to guess most of them got slaughtered.
2507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to take profits? on: August 03, 2022, 10:27:02 PM
I am mostly a hodler no matter the market going down or up. But sometimes I get the advice to take some profits.

Example: my investment of 300 euro becomes 500 euro. Is it better to take out my initial investment or only take the profit ? And reinvest that profit ?

How do you guys do this ?

I just feel like i'm missing potential profits by not selling and seeing my potential profits go up and down.

It depends on what your goal is.  If you want to shed risk then yeah I'd pocket my initial investment in that case you presented.  Then trade the 200 which is essentially house money at this point.  Then aggressively trade that if you are looking for big hitters.  Never bad to pocket profits though if your goal is capital retention.
2508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 03, 2022, 10:22:46 PM
Gotcha, yeah he has college level skills but against top college talent he shrieked a little.  I'm on the side that chet will be a bust for the NBA but the future will be very telling.  Will wait until I see him in a few games before I completely pass judgement.
Well, I believe I expressed myself badly in my last comment. But the point of this comparison is that if Holmgren continues with this amazing performance he had in the NCAA and gets an extremely high raise, if that actually happens, Holmgren could even be compared to Durant.

But it is clear, the levels of NBA players are very high compared to NCAA players, I have no doubt that in the beginning he will have a little difficulty adapting.

By the way, in the dimensions of the NBA court is much larger than the NCAA?

The court itself is the same for college and nba, the biggest difference though being the 3 point line in college is closer to the hoop than in the NBA.  But honestly it's not even that he can shoot, it will be him playing against men and not boys like he was in college.  Giannis will abuse chet, AD will slaughter him etc.  They are going to match him up against a center or power forward at best.  It's his defense that will keep him on the bench.
2509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 01, 2022, 11:59:19 PM
Durant is arguably one of the best players in the league when he is healthy.  Chet hasn't stepped one foot in the NBA for a regular game.  An improved version of possibly the best player in the game is a reach.  I'd like to see how chet deals with big bodies in a thin frame, not many can pull it off.
Yes, this is indeed unquestionable. But I see the potential that Chet Holmgren has, what I said is just expectations, several variables need to be analyzed, how will his behavior in the league, how will be his development, adaptation among other things.
Holmgren just turned 20, he's young, he's already tall, he has great ball handling, but first, we we need to see how he performs in the NBA and I'm very curious and looking forward to seeing him play

Gotcha, yeah he has college level skills but against top college talent he shrieked a little.  I'm on the side that chet will be a bust for the NBA but the future will be very telling.  Will wait until I see him in a few games before I completely pass judgement.
2510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 10-100x coin? on: August 01, 2022, 08:20:08 PM
In this month I invested around $300 to buy 4 coins which according to many experts predict will skyrocket at least 10x in 2022, the 4 coins that i make a mainstay are Apecoin, NEAR Protocol, Curve DAO and Enjin coin. Of course there are many conditions to be able to reach 10x, and the main factor is the price of btc and ETH which continue to rise.

If someone is saying that any coin will 10x in this current market than I wouldn't say they are experts.  In this market more people are just buying and holding than expecting any big rise.  Gotta wait until the next bull run to see those types of appreciation in low cap coins.
2511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: September is already here on: August 01, 2022, 08:16:50 PM
So it seems September is the last month we will be able to mine Ethereum, what's next to do with our mining rigs? I believe Eth is the most profitable and Ethereum Classic is just trying to catch on, what do you believe in this stage? Can ETC be just as profitable as ETH.

Etc will never been as profitable as eth as a lot of the hashpower will move over to etc without the price being moved (most likely).  I think everyone will just wait and see to see where the profitability goes and will most likely just ride the most profitable and flip for fiat/btc like they always have in the past.
2512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will the next Bull run look like? on: August 01, 2022, 08:14:25 PM
Unfortunately,

I join the crypto community at the beginning of the end of the last bull run. I invested heavily quickly and I watched my portfolio dwindle down to the ranges we see today.

I don't regret what I did because it taught me a lot of valuable lessons along the way. I never sold and continued to invest , I now focus on DCA every month.

All this is to say;
I haven't yet had the opportunity to experience a bull run.
I understand form my countless hours researching the space that even I'm 'early considering that the next bull run will likely arrive alongside regulation, then institutional
invest and mass adoption.

Realistically, what will the next bull run look like?

Thank you"

The next  bull run will likely be like the rest of them.  Altcoins peoe hold will die off as a new wave of coins will completely take off.  There will be some group of coins that will be trendy and completely kill it (think meme coins in 2021, masternode coins in 2017, etc).  But in the end there will likely be one constant, bitcoin will be the center of the market rise 😉
2513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in Moderation, Pros can out weigh its Cons in Financial and Health? on: August 01, 2022, 08:12:21 PM
OP you make some valid points but in the end gambling is essentially a bad habit that will rear its ugly head at one point or another.  I mean in moderation I guess it's fine and yeah it can string together some immediate near terms pros.  But most people don't gamble in moderation and if they do, lose more than they win ultimately creating some bad MOJO in theor life.
2514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 01, 2022, 08:09:08 PM
90's basketball is very physical, now it has evolved because a team who have great 3-point shooters will likely win the championship. Look at Stephen Curry, if he is not good at 3-point shooting, he will not become a great player, and also now, big men are already shooting 3's, we have good 3-point shooters like Jokic which is a good example.
Yes, and I believe this is the trend! It's normal for players' styles to change over time, just look at what basketball was like 40, 50 or 60 years ago.
Nowadays, an important attribute is the 3-point shot, most players can shoot the 3-point shot (of course, some have a greater difficulty and others not so much).

There are also unicorn players, who are basically big players (maybe over 6"-11' (211cm) or 7" (213cm), they are fast, versatile, have good ball handling, can shot short range, medium and long shots. distance, and who currently play as SF, PF or rarely as SG.
Some of these examples are Durant, Antetokounmpo (even Kristaps Porzingis and Jokic I imagine could fit in that category)

One player who has just been drafted to the NBA (OKC) and who I see has great promise and is also a unicorn is Chet Holmgren! I even imagine he could be an improved version of Durant, let's see how he will performs in the NBA.

Durant is arguably one of the best players in the league when he is healthy.  Chet hasn't stepped one foot in the NBA for a regular game.  An improved version of possibly the best player in the game is a reach.  I'd like to see how chet deals with big bodies in a thin frame, not many can pull it off.
2515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asic miners vs GPU miners on: July 30, 2022, 07:56:59 PM
Hi,

what do you recommend spending money on ? Asic (a small setup) or GPU rig (big setup)
in terms of noise and heat and power consumption? what do you recommend.

If i spend money on ASIC miners, is this long term?

please guide.

As others said too general of a question.  What's the goall of the set up long term income, quick profitability and then try to flip.  What electric set up do you have.  How noisy of a rig could you handle.  Mining straight bitcoin or alts to hold or to immediately flip into fiat?  Generally speaking I'd say start with a small set up of each and work your way out from there.  You will learn a lot of how your objectives will change as ypu start mining.
2516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu's future on: July 30, 2022, 07:54:10 PM
According to my observations I think that this coin will grow but not really sure whether i should try to buy and hold some or try micro trading. I'm sure that there're lots of experienced traders who can give me an advice

Shib like many other meme coins will eventually fade away.  Next bull run there will be some sort of other craze and everyone will drop their shib bags for the next best thing.  Happens in every market cycle I'd microtrade my way out of my shib position if I were you but that's just me.
2517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 30, 2022, 07:49:51 PM
Look at Isaiah Thomas. He was illegible for max contract in Boston, but he got injured before he can secure it. That one injury turned his supposed big paycheck into almost nothing. He got traded and now, just a few years later, he is gone in the league.
One of the saddest story in NBA. Now he is having a hard time to go back at being an NBA player. 2 time All-Star, All-NBA second team, helped the Celtics to be on top of the East again and yet he was like a garbage thrown because of an injury. Just like that.
DeMarcus Cousins is another story to be looked but it seems he is trying his best to be on top shape again.
Helped the Nuggets during the playoffs while being pounded by the Warriors, his former team. He put good numbers in the defensive end and I wish they will give him another contract as it gives Jokic a lot of rest time when he is around.

It's not that they just get trashed like garbage, nba is super tight in terms of what can be done.  There are salary caps and only 15 spots on the team.  Baseball is different you can pay for loyalty if the owner wants to without hindering your ability to get top notch guys.  And injuries tend to do that for lots of players.  Basketball is demanding on the body and no one wants to pay and take up a spot for a guy who just got wrecked.  Then once they are out of the league it's tough to break back in.  Tons of guys had to walk away not on theor own terms.
2518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 WNBA Discussion and Betting on: July 30, 2022, 02:57:40 PM
Oh I've seen some crazy stuff bet on so this isn't even crazy, just funny how people will literally bet on anything.  Chances are these bettors don't even enjoy the game from a fan standpoint.  Just playing the numbers.

Not that crazy but I'm sure these people preferred only to bet on the sports of basketball that even if they don't have any knowledge of the league itself, as long as it's basketball, they will bet on it. As long as what's the available league is currently active, they will consider placing a bet on those.

Take for example some NBA bettors, they will bet on Euroleague, Chinese League, Australian League, etc. I'm sure these NBA bettors don't know much about those leagues I have mentioned but just want to test the waters betting on it since it's basketball and they are comfortable betting only on basketball matches.

Much better to see it that way compared to people jumping and shifting on other sports without any knowledge. That's basically a suicide bet.

Honestly to me anyone who makes bets without even knowing anything about the league is definitely crazy.  Basically just throwing money in the wind and seeing if it comes back.  The beauty of sports betting is trying to get an edge on the house by knowing the ins and outs of each team to hopefully get that edge.  Otherwise just play the lottery right?
2519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Squid Game' cryptocurrency scams $2 million on: July 29, 2022, 11:02:07 PM
On Oct. 26 a coin called $SQUID was launched by a group with no affiliation to the creators of the hit Netflix show -- the first red flag. As memecoins sometimes do, it exploded in growth. After listing at 12 cents, on early Monday morning it briefly hit a peak of $2,800.

Then, as memecoins are also known for doing, it all crashed. In an instant, the price fell to one third of one cent, where it remains at time of writing.

So the question is how people still believe in all that stuff? Smiley Easy money is very hard to catch. Especially while there are coins like Crypton privacy coin, which gained 50% right after the new listing and gained 50% more in the next 2 days.. People still look for some scams on their own. OMG, will it ever end?

Short answer is no it won't ever end.  Why you ask?  Simple, greed.  If people are hyping something up, especially in a bull market people will put theor money into anything just hoping and praying someone will buy it for more.  The fact that they squeezed that much out of people is sadly hilarious.  I mean what did people think was gonna happen lol.
2520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 WNBA Discussion and Betting on: July 29, 2022, 10:59:51 PM
Was a great bit because he is on so right with that.  His delivery of that bit was great too.  I mean really how can they match nba when they aren't pulling in any money.  Do people actually bet on wnba?  Ya'll hard up for some action 😅

They won't match NBA and I think NBA is subsidizing WNBA to keep it afloat. Anyway, a match is still a match and most gamblers, specially addicts, will bet on anything they can bet on. If sportsbook pick it up, somebody will make a bet.

I won't take too much action in WNBA though because I don't follow this league. It is hard to make a bet when you're just guessing.

Yeah no I understand they will never match nba.  I think the only thing that can come close is probably women's national team soccer in the US.  And that is strictly because they are generally successful where as the men's national team is nothing on the big stage.

Oh I've seen some crazy stuff bet on so this isn't even crazy, just funny how people will literally bet on anything.  Chances are these bettors don't even enjoy the game from a fan standpoint.  Just playing the numbers.
