For instance, here in Greece, we have more than 300 days of sunlight per year, it would be great even if solar panels were implemented by companies or individuals themselves.

It does not matter how many days of sun you get but how much of that energy you can harvest, and Greece despite being all sunny and so for tourism it lags well behind a lot of countries by actual potential.
Excluding the islands, you only get 4 hours on average spread through that day, so you would need to either program all your activities during peak hours or a ton of batteries.
I'm not an expert on this field by any means, I'm not exactly sure on how exactly solar panels work and how efficient they are. However, as you've also mentioned, Germany and other nearby countries can't take advantage of the sunlight, due to their climate. I live in Crete, which is sunny for most of the day (And for most of the year), the same thing doesn't occur in north Greece though (Thessaloniki for instance).

The so-called renewable energy sources are not enough to depend on yet, I do understand that the fossil fuel usage should be reduced, but I don't believe that green energy sources are to depend on currently. We're a long way till that happens.
I think you're right, but it's amazing to me that in 2021 with all the technology we have at our disposal that we're still very much dependent on oil drilling, refining, and gasoline consumption.  Solar technology is definitely available; I just think it's unaffordable for most folks, at least for the initial outlay for solar panels and whatever else is needed to power an average home.  I would imagine that once the price comes down for those things (and people wise up to the fact that solar is cheaper and better for the environment), adoption will increase.

I also get the feeling that car manufacturers and big oil companies have hindered the adoption of alternative energy sources for a long time now, though backdoor lobbying.  If you asked me for evidence of that, I couldn't provide it, but those two industries alone have so much invested in keeping people dependent on oil that it's hard to believe that their pool of enormous resources hasn't gone into buying off politicians as well as influencing public opinion.

Viva la Tesla!
I also believe that we don't lack the technology, but it's not being implemented. The transition to renewable energy sources will take decades to be implemented, which is quite troubling, due to some countries who could genuinely take advantage of solar and wind energy. For instance, here in Greece, we have more than 300 days of sunlight per year, it would be great even if solar panels were implemented by companies or individuals themselves.

If I had my own house, I'd definitely invest in buying solar panels, enough to power the whole house and a charging station for electric vehicles, it would be an investment which would quickly pay off.
2503  Economy / Economics / Re: Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: October 09, 2021, 03:58:30 AM
And years of neglect, no more investing in reserves a complete government aversion towards anything that is related to fossil fuel finally comes and presents the bill. Keystone was bad, remember?

Europe is paying the price for it too, no more drilling, let's go all green, but when the wind stops Denmark does also,   no more water in Norway dams and we're going to get power from what? The solar panels in Germany that get 4 hours of sun a day and the coal and nuclear and gas power plants that are shut own?

We're finally here, right before total green power and renewable dominance, where everyone will ditch their car and cycle in the morning to "work" in the woods gathering tree barks and mushrooms. Of course, you will need a special permit for this cause it will also affect the environment, so only 5 square centimeters of treebark per family member per day.

What could anyone expect from such a situation:
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/04/business/energy-environment/oil-and-gas-prices-clean-energy.html

Quote
The situation in the United States is not quite as dire, but oil and gasoline prices are high enough that President Biden has been calling on foreign producers to crank up supply. He is doing so as he simultaneously pushes Congress to address climate change by moving the country away from fossil fuels toward renewable energy and electric cars.

Yeah, it makes perfect logic, you destroy the supply and then you go on all fours and beg others to give you oil. What could go wrong???

And if you think this is bad, wait for the consequences, wait till the cost will reflect in the agriculture products, in the transport, in everything else, then the real pain will start, better prepare which room you want to heat during winter.
Oh, and regular here is still €1.4 diesel a bit cheaper at 1.37.
The so-called renewable energy sources are not enough to depend on yet, I do understand that the fossil fuel usage should be reduced, but I don't believe that green energy sources are to depend on currently. We're a long way till that happens.

I'm hoping that it's a one off thing and prices fall to normal levels soon, fueling up the car or buying heating gas oil has become unbearable.
2504  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to maintain your good health? on: October 08, 2021, 06:44:13 PM
actually the main element of health is the mind, because if our minds are not good and always have problems, we can be sure that our health will be disturbed.
clear your mind and behave positively in uncovering any problems because everything can be solved undoubtedly we will find invaluable natural health.
continue to act to be positive whatever we do and we eat will taste good and can make our immunity high.

One of the most accurate replies so far, I've stumbled upon this a few years ago, I would often get sick and feel unwell, which was stemming from my adverse psychological state. Eating healthy and exercising can be beneficial, but it's not always enough. However, exercising (used to participate in competitive cycling for many years) had helped me cope with it and get my mind off any issues I was experiencing.
2505  Economy / Economics / Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: October 08, 2021, 05:40:58 PM
Fuel prices have skyrocketed in the past few months, on a worldwide scale. Here in Greece, the average price per liter for 95 Unleaded petrol is €1.75, while for diesel it's approximately €1.45. A huge surge is also expected, in the soon-to-be launched season of heating gas oil, which is expected to start within the next few weeks, with a rumored price of at least €1.10/liter.

I've read that this spike in prices is triggered by an increase in price per barrel, due to oil companies worrying about the pandemic, while their production is limited compared to the higher demand. Have you heard anything relative? What's causing this surge in prices, could it be a one-off thing which lasts a couple of months at most?

What's the average cost of petrol/diesel in your country? Share your thoughts on what exactly is causing this crisis, which is also spiking electricity costs up, increasing the budget for the average household.

2506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 10% increase in a day - why? on: October 07, 2021, 08:10:17 PM
Bitcoin just pumped a few moments earlier, having an increase in price of over $2.500 within a single hour. Pretty astonishing to be honest, and also promising that in the near future, it will eventually reach and surpass its previous ATH, at approximately $60.000. It is now slowly losing value, however, such price change is a massive achievement.

Not far from happening, Bitcoin is strongly approaching and until now it's still moving upwards. Hitting $55K almost nearing to reach $60K once it was done this month, expect to see new ATH before this year's end. Lots of speculations pointed that Bitcoin may reach $100K though it's still far but if strong trend keeps on coming and moving stronger, we will see that happen.

So far, keeping your bitcoin is a good option, just make a good back-up plan in case sideway take place, we really don't have any accurate prediction, it's more on how determine you are trusting this asset.
Well, the $55.000 mark was surpassed yesterday, I don't doubt that the $60.000 mark isn't that far away, but I strongly believe that there will be built some sort of resistance at approximately $58.000. However, I'm pretty positive that the ATH will be surpassed before the end of the year, somewhere near the end of December.

The price of bitcoin is still holding good at $54k and yes it was a massive pump today. But we have seen similar pumps previously too.
So I am not much surprised because I was expecting this since the uptrend started a few days ago.
I also think that we might face some correction around $57k before crossing the ATH.
It's just speculation though because we never know when the institutions stack up some BTC pumping up it's price in thousands.
You're right, I haven't forgotten one of the largest pumps I've seen live, Elon Musk's/Tesla's Bitcoin purchase, which actually screwed me over, but that's another story. I don't think we'll reach ATH soon enough, but I strongly believe it will occur within the end of the year.

It is also apparent that vaccination drops your immunity by 20% or more.
This is not true. Remarks such as this are misleading and dangerous. Your statement is unfounded conjecture that flies in the face of overwhelming evidence.

If you look at the stats from Israel and other countries, you can see the truth.
Okay, let's look at the data from Israel:

Quote
10% of Israelis are unvaccinated. They account for 73% of current serious cases, and 65% of recent deaths.
In Israel, COVID is fast becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated: Of the 644 patients in serious condition on Tuesday, 73 percent were from the small population of eligible Israelis who had not received any shots.

Around 15 percent of eligible Israelis over the age of 12 (some 1,105,000 people) are still unvaccinated. Of this group, 10 percent (755,000 people) are over the age of 20 and constitute nearly all of the country’s serious cases and deaths.

Many things can damage your immune system - coca-cola, McDonalds burgers, seed oil spreads, refined sugars, cream cakes, pharmaceuticals, recreational drugs, smoking, vaping, sleep deprivation, stress, vitamin "D" deficiency, mineral deficiency, high fructose corn syrup, etc. etc.
Having a healthy lifestyle confers benefits, of course, but it's not a superpower. It doesn't make you invincible and immortal. And it does not prevent you from taking the vaccine. Why not live healthily and take the vaccine? This is not an either/or situation.
Keeping your eyes open whilst driving is safer. Wearing a seatbelt whilst driving is safer. But having your eyes open doesn't mean you need to unfasten your seatbelt.

I simply don't get those who are opposed to vaccinations, statistics have clearly shown a decrease in deaths and severe cases, in countries with high vaccination coverage, such examples are the United Kingdom, Israel, Portugal and quite a few more. Despite still having a relatively high transmission rate, deaths are significantly lowered compared to what they were before the vaccine was released.

You are not malicious or judgemental you are just posting the real state of the campaign checking, Lightlord account his last login was 10 days ago and the only communication is through this forum, if this campaign continues he should escrow the funds to his bounty manager, he has a highly reputable campaign manager, he can trust him with big funds.
Glad that Brainboss updated the state of the campaign he might pause the campaign if there is no update on this round.
This is one same reason why I leave being under lightlord company, i stayed more than 2 years in 777coin campaign because of my former manager Hhampuz(in which the first manager of both campaign) and also because of Brainboss constant update and being nice to all members, but recently as the payments getting longer and longer aside from Lowering each time bitcoin price increase, i had to go out and find my way to another one.

though i have nothing to say against the owner and the manager but at least for lightlord try to be accumulating and updating , there is no wrong answering people about their queries because keeping silent making the situation worst towards gambler and participants of the campaign.
I also was in the Bitvest campaign, I never had an issue with Cryptobrainboss being the manager, nor with payments being delayed to be honest. However, the payment was then further reduced, in conjunction with payments being delayed, only handled with a petty bonus to justify for the wait, wasn't enough for me. I believe that the payments will be handled eventually, however, I don't think such delays are professional.

P.S, I have one week's payment pending, nothing I'm really looking forward to, but I'd like to have it eventually.

the astrophysicist religion
Astrophysics is not a religion. Science is not a religion.
Religions are based on having faith that a thing is true, despite there being no evidence.
Science consists of facts. If someone has a theory, they can test it scientifically to determine whether or not it is true. If it is true, it becomes part of our scientific understanding. If it is false, this can lead us to new avenues of enquiry.
Science is a search for truth, by means of testing falsifiable propositions.
Religion has no evidence, it simply says "This is true."

Do you have any evidence for a virus passing between people?
If someone says that the moon is made of cheese, it is not worth discussing.

You constantly like to ignore the fact that the CDC said that 94% of Covid deaths was from comorbidities...

... that the few who did die from Covid are way less that those who die from cancer, or heart disease, or diabetes, or many other things, each year...

... that those getting Covid are and are vaxxed, are way more than the unvaxxed who get Covid...

... that way less that 1% of people ever died from Covid...

... all the Open VAERS stuff which is taken right from the CDC's various websites...

... and loads of other things that show that the CDC talks out of many sides of its face, lying all the time.

You are an enemy of the people, and it should be known by all people so that they are protected from your devious ways.

Cool
I'm pretty sure you're stupid by now, I've confirmed it by going through most of your threads/posts. I'm still curious, though, where the heck are you getting your sources? Probably some joke conspiracy website, for sure, which cites no sources whatsoever. I can answer your nonsense claims, despite it being completely pointless.

The total death toll from Covid-19 in 2020 was more than 1.8 million deaths, however, there's an excess of 3 million deaths throughout the year, which indicates that there are deaths which were never recorded. In simple words, the true death toll is actually larger than the recorded, that's 1.2 more a million deaths in a single year.

These are official numbers from CDC and WHO, I don't understand where you get your information from.

How far down is this crazy slide?
I'm possibly arguing with one of the biggest conspiracy theorists on the forum, and also stupid, but will go ahead and ask you, where are those "adverse events" you're mentioning?

"Among the 289 Phase 2/3 booster recipients with evaluable e-diary data, injection site pain (83.0%) was the most frequent solicited adverse reaction, following by fatigue (63.7%) and headache (48.4%)"

Since when is a sore arm, a plain headache or some fatigue, which goes away a few hours after taking the shot, adverse, as you are claiming? Probably don't know how to read.

Didn't know i work for  FDA, learn something new every day.
Neither do I, but I don't make false bold claims, do I? However, you're making a claim which you cannot support, implying that almost all the recipients had adverse side effects, when the side effects are clearly mentioned a few lines later. You then reply with "I don't work for the FDA", when you've made such a stupid claim. I really don't get you.

2514  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID advanced the world into the future on: October 03, 2021, 08:47:05 PM
Any hardship, no matter how small or large has always been a driving factor for human progress. Wars especially. As far as I can tell, all of human or even animal evolution is based on the simple principle of suffering and finding ways to alleviate that suffering. As far as Covid goes, I think it was a very necessary "drill" so that we can be better prepared for the next virus, which may be much, much deadlier.

I don't completely agree with this statement. COVID 19 is not the first virus pandemic. Even in the recent times, we had multiple pandemics caused by virus strains. MERS and SARS are examples. I don' think that these pandemics have contributed anything to medical science. If that was the case, then the current pandemic would have got contained much earlier. Now we are almost two years in to the pandemic and I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Stock markets have gone up (that might have happened even without the pandemic). Otherwise I don't see any other positive for the last two years.

Well before you say "COVID 19 is not the first virus pandemic" or  "I don' think that these pandemics have contributed anything to medical science." Maybe you could weigh in the factors that we have never had such a gigantic outbreak before, in history and the corona virus is called the novel corona virus for a reason. Its new. Its never been observed in humans before. So I mean, both those things kind of contradict what you claim.
That's true, a few pandemics did occur during the last 10-20 years, but they weren't that widespread. Let's look at the definition of the word pandemic once more, "it's an epidemic of an infectious disease that has spread across a large region, such as multiple continents or worldwide" (Wikipedia). Thus, just because we weren't affected at some time doesn't mean it didn't occur.

A few examples include the SARS and MERS coronaviruses, which were also declared pandemics, and most of us here were alive to experience it, or not?
2515  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Library ? Or Internet ? on: October 03, 2021, 07:28:34 PM
It depends on the subject you're looking for, generally, I'd prefer online, it's a much faster and efficient tool when looking for information, while even there's a wide variety of books available online. On the other hand, the internet could also be full of misinformation, something that can be avoided if you're thorough when choosing your sources.

On the other hand, there's definitely a lot of information to be gathered from books, but I find it too old-fashioned for my liking, consumes too much time and effort which could be used elsewhere.

I hope that at least some segment of their respective societies is smart enough to NOT let themselves be injected with gene therapy supplied as a generous gift from an entity to considers population control in these foreign countries to be a high priority national security issue.

Maybe they would like some nice smallpox blankets to go along with the injections?

One thing for sure is that it will be trivial to get the crap through the political apparatus in almost all of these resource-rich 'developing world' places.  Lots of effort has gone into maintaining compliance at that level since it is the only one which really counts.

https://www.hli.org/resources/nssm-200/

BTW, last I checked, Henry Kissinger was not only still alive, but can walk into the Oval Office any time he feels like it.  I've not heard if the Biden team has maintained the Trump team policy here, but I would be shocked if they did not.

The posted photo shows that the amount of vaccines distributed is inconsiderable, since it's minimal compared to the country's population. However, you're implying that all of this is a plan for population control, especially in such developing countries, with poor birth control. If that's the case, then why didn't they distribute more vaccines in order to eradicate the population?
2517  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Covid-19 Vaccine side effects on: October 03, 2021, 05:27:50 PM
As a part of an academic project, I'm working on recording any side effects that might have occured, during any of the two vaccination doses. I believed that I'd receive more feedback here rather than my Facebook profile, so I decided to make a poll.

It would be interesting to also note which vaccine you received and a brief description of what you faced. Personally, I only had some mild fever only during the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, which lasted a few hours at most.

I'd also like to see if any of us here faced any of the rare severe side effects, such as a blood clot, which mostly occured with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

I am vaccinated with Sinovac this is the first vaccine that arrived in our country and doesn't want to wait longer to get vaccinated so I pick the one that is available, one hour after being vaccinated I felt a slight discomfort in the vaccinated area I also got mild fever but after I take a pain killer everything went ok I'm glad that I did not experience bad symptoms.
So the story in short, you started the day healthy ended up with painkillers and happy to have survived the day.
And all of it for something which does not even exist, €1.5 million reward for scientist to find the elusive virus: https://www.samueleckert.net/isolate-truth-fund/
Some people have all the brain power in the world, dont forget to book for the booster shot, dont want to become "unvaccineted".
It's a normal and expectable side effect, I don't get why you make it such a big deal. I don't even understand what kind of bullshit that article you cited is, but Samuel Eleckert is an evangelical preacher, what does he have to do with the pandemic? He has no clue, he's the typical conspiracy theorist you all believe in. On top of that, he is targeting teenagers through a Telegram group.

I don't think there's a valid reason to have multiple accounts on a gambling website, unless there's a malicious reason behind it. If it's stated on their TOS, there's no use trying to make another account, since it could lead to a possible account suspension. Another thought would be due to some gambling websites having a faucet integrated, having multiple accounts cashing out on the faucet is a no-go.

My biggest problem when I work from home and make money online is when people around me ask what my job is. i make money from bounty and airdrop, so i am confused how to explain this work to them. even though I explain this work I'm sure they won't understand and won't believe it.
I also often have this problem, especially with the people closest to me. but I don't think it's a serious problem because I just explain how my job is honestly, if they don't understand or don't believe it's none of my business anymore. but what often happens when I explain how I make money online they also want to try this job.
How is that a serious problem? Not having a job would be one, explaining what you so shouldn't be an issue. They don't really have to know, it's none of their business. In case you are pressured to answer, claim that you are a crypto investor or an online advertiser. No one has to know what you're doing, that's strictly personal.
