2521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it bitcoin haram? on: May 20, 2018, 11:43:56 AM
Haram means illegal, I don't see any special and logical reason behind the bitcoin is illegal. Day by day it's gaining popularity among the people who engage in virtual work. So i 100% believe that its is totally contradict the people idea about haram of bitcoin because its 100% halal (legal).

Bitcoin is a currency.
Dollar is a currency.
Pound is a currency.
Euro is a currency.
All other fiats are currency...

Dollar, Pound, Euro and all others currencies are Haram?

I leave you to justify your statement yourself.

when a group of devs needs early funding to kickstart the ICO campaign, what do they need to show for angel investors?

Github, site, whitepaper, registered company? or anything else or this is not necessary? Thank you!

You need to convince them with everything you have

Your words really inspire in mind. We do not want to gather knowledge forum. we enter the forum only to earn money. Everyone wants to earn some money from bounty. But nobody wants to acquire knowledge.
The crypto world's curiosity is almost a year but I have not really achieved anything. I will study the topics you present here. It would be better if I could gain some knowledge from the path you showed. Your small brother has unlimited greetings because of which you have come here.

Appreciate all these kind words. This forum really helped me / still helping a lot improving my personal skills and knowledge. If someone has this mind set that they will only earn money from the forum by spamming all over then s/he is wrong. Those days are gone. Now you need to focus on quality over quantity and thanks for merit system for that.
2524  Economy / Services / Re: Need help for BBcode signature on: May 20, 2018, 10:26:11 AM
Why do you think this belongs in meta?

I guess the user is really new and do not know where is the appropriate board for this topic. @OP I would suggest to move this topic in the Services section.

Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Services

Scroll down a bit and on the left hand side you will see a link for move topic.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Update:
If you are happy with the answer then you can lock the topic as well. Since this topic do not have anymore use. You will find lock topic link next to the move topic link.
2525  Other / Meta / Discussion needed: xtraelv and Lafu activities on: May 20, 2018, 10:19:44 AM
I have a merit abuser investigation topic. I do it voluntary, to support the forum value and to be dutiful to the forum. So far, I have 18 cases with 82 (I might be wrong for few, after all I am a human) abusers in the list including xtraelv and Lafu. I tag this merit abusers with a red trust, when I see 100% evidence of their merit abusing in my investigation. I also always keep a reference in my red trust.

I completely understand that my red trust means nothing since I am not a DT member however the goal is, to knock the merit abuser and aware them that they are abusing merit system. Once they admit and acknowledge then I remove the red trust with a neutral trust to keep a log for the future with a hope that the user has been warned. Here, I have one of the case...

Merit history snapshot for xtraelv and Lafu

13Total sent for Personal Interest1 By Lafu, in other words xtraelv received

Is this how we should spend our sMerits? For personal interest1?

I would like to discuss, if my justification was wrong or right?
(Both xtraelv and Lafu are abusing merit)

I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.

While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.

Do not beg for merit excessively.

Can I ask for merit?

There is no need to do this and this behaviour is usually seen as 'merit begging' which is frowned upon by the community and may lead to you receiving negative feedback. Keep making quality, constructive posts and you will surely be rewarded over time.

Can I sell merit?

Selling merit is disallowed.

Can I give merit to my alt accounts?

No, this is frowned upon and will almost certainly lead to you receiving negative feedback if discovered.

1Can be ALT, can be favour (exchange), can be trading with money

The majority of the forum uses the same file (index.php).
I am pretty sure that there is a common header file which loads with all the pages except few special pages like you mentioned.
2527  Other / Meta / Re: Any Merit advice? on: May 19, 2018, 05:29:20 PM
I've read some posts about merit and such but I'd rather ask the high ranked members directly.  What criteria do you look for awarding merit and what forum sections do you usually hang out in?  Are you looking for just long drawn out rambling posts which I see very often or funny responses.

I gotten really de-motivated after going months without much merit but a lot of posts.  I mostly just see people selling merit, giving out ridiculous amounts of merit  like 50+ for one line posts.

I guess I will quote a topic from Jet Cash started yesterday.

Quote
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

This quote is often attributed to Albert Einstein, but Business Insider seems to think that it is a misattribution -
http://www.businessinsider.com/misattributed-quotes-2013-10?IR=T

Whoever said it was correct to a certain extent, and it is true of the quest for merits. If your posting habits are largely repetitive, and after 100+ posts, you still haven't received any merit, then reflect on that quotation. It really is time to learn and research so that you can change the direction of your posting.

A minute ago I replied in a topic and I think I will quote that too...

Becoming a hero is very difficult at this time. It takes a year of time and very good useful posts for other users for which you can get a merits
I don't think it's very difficult however IT IS difficult for members who are not providing any value but running after spamming on the whole forum.

I believe I can become a Legendary member some day. On my way I will earn enough merits no doubt. I have started from 0 merits and it's not only me. There are a lot of members who are doing very well. They are earning legit merits because of their efforts. It's the mind set, learning, an experience of how to serve and care for a community.

@OP I hope it helps

The Singapore company Tangem released bitcoin-bills, which the developers themselves call "smart banknotes."  However, they are not made of paper - in fact it is hardware cold wallets with an integrated S3D350A chip from Samsung.  At the same time, the novelty has common features with traditional banknotes.  So, each bitcoin-bill represents a certain fixed denomination in BTC and can be transferred physically for payment.  In the company itself Tangem development is called "uncoolable cold wallet."

Now I still would like to learn about PGP keys and how to sign it, but I don't know good tutorials about it in English.
This page seems pretty complete and detailed: http://www.pitt.edu/~poole/PGP.htm
There are also great videos that you can see to understand the basics. Eg: How To Use PGP/GPG Encryption - In 2 minutes - PGP /GPG Tutorial for Beginners
Good one mate. While the first one is very details documentation and the 2nd one is well explained. It (the 2nd one) clears the idea.
2531  Other / Meta / xtraelv: You are doing it wrong on: May 19, 2018, 02:02:23 PM
Just breath... Calm down mate. Here is an archive of your post. You already massed up my topic with all these quotes and images.

It would have been nice to know when someone tries to dob me in - for something that has a simple explaination. A message would have been a minimum courtesy.

I wish I could but there are so many cases I am investigating that I have actually no time to PM individuals asking for explanations. That's why I always leave the RedTrust removal link on the tag I give.

I didn't even know what "smerit " was until recently. Lafu helps out a lot of people on the forum. It said that smerits could expire in the future so I gave it to him. I didn't even know that he had given me merit until recently when I found out that merit existed. I don't even see what the big deal is. I couldn't care less about merit I receive.
See? Wake up call! You woke up after my red trust. I guess you are so busy with self gain that since last Jan 24th to recently you had no clue?(!) I already laid out your excuses: [Parody] Merit translation. Your excuses are nothing new to me. Demn.... Just look at the merit history!

Mate, you and your friend Lafu are not just abusing the merit system, you are insulting the whole community. You guys don't give a shit about the forum value.

The merits were given in accordance to the rules: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0
Would you care to highlight your picks from the link you provided? Please do it.

10 for providing customer service https://prnt.sc/jjwniy
2 for providing another customer service https://prnt.sc/jjwnyx
7 for this https://prnt.sc/jjwo8a (?) Seriously?!!

This forum is not Cryptopia's customer service portal FYI.

It is likely that oneliner has some hidden agenda against me - perhaps even a sockpuppet or rent-a-troll of someone I have busted for running scams on bitcointalk or elsewhere.
Sorry mate I don't even know you, my world does not circle around you at all LOL

Oh well - you got my attention - briefly - and now ignored, tagged and message blocked.
I don't negotiate with scammers and blackmailers and wear their reds with pride.

- Seriously(!) Be my guest my friend. I will give you 24 hours of time to admit your mistake on my red trust removal topic or I will bring this issue in public and will take feedback from the community. You think I care about your red turst? The reason I will bring the issue in public to prove that I my ground is right and yours is wrong.

Lafu gives almost daily advise on bitcointalk  - I think I'm allowed to give merits for that. It even said not to keep them because they might expire.

Clearly not an alt since Lafu doesn't even live on the same continent as me.
- Merit is not here to reward just because someone's advice is helpful for you.

The "contact me " and second chance T&C's looks like basic blackmail by a user that has no offical role on bitcointalk. I've tagged accordingly.
- I have no interest whatsoever to blackmail anyone. You are living in your self created wrong concept.

mdayonliner is endorsing giving merit away as "prizes" in a signature campaign...

LOL you are living in a world where you do not have even a single clue that you are talking about.
Seriously mate, Did you even click the link (Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 4 Merits every week!)? Did you see the topic owner is me? LAMO.

Please please do little homework before proving someone wrong for something. Please.

...and his signature is "for rent". How hypocritical is that ?
Is there anything wrong? Come on!!!

Anyway 24 hours (click for countdown) to admit your mistake or I will ask feedback from the community since I need to prove my ground is right to the community.
2532  Other / Meta / Re: Minor cosmetic change in total logged time. on: May 19, 2018, 01:15:47 PM
I don't think this will get fixed.

It's such a large fix for something that isn't really an issue and it alwo means an extra few lines of code that need to be loaded before the forum loads to validate the time. It's easier just to go with the plural version, it only makes a difference once every 60 minutes (for minutes), once every day (for hours) and only once for days.

Like I said in the original post it really is not a big deal. It's not a large fix by the way. Few lines in a function/method only to be loaded once every-time the page loads.

Still trying to find a job you're least qualified for?

You should add "reliable" to the title as well, as you are the most trustyworthy and mentally stable person ever!

I'd rather hire a fucking donkey than you, you cannot be trusted.

And oh yeah, nice red trust you have there.

Pointing out shadiness =/= harrassment.

Good maths.

20 participants for 0.02 total = 0.00100 per participant
40 participants for 0.03 total = 0.00075 per participant
50 participants for 0.04 total = 0.00080 per participant

What's with this weird scaling system?

All Quoting for future reference.

I am pretty sure there are so many stuffs to be taken care of however if - by any chance, can this be taken care of?

I just noticed it. Shouldn't it be: "1 hour" instead of "1 hours"?

This leads me to think, may be the "days" and "minutes" are also functioning the same when it's 1 like: 1 days and 1 minutes.

Again not a big deal. It's not even noticeable however wouldn't it be nice to see it to be fixed.
(I know, the dev will need to write a function to determine when to add "s" and when to remove "s" and it's not gonna take much time for someone who is practising programming)

PS: Don't get surprised by seeing my logged time. I joined the forum on December 14, 2017. Since then (except 34 days) I am literally spending everyday whole day on the forum LOL

This thread, called"Terminology" is also important:

When I was newbie, I saw so many unknown and change terms and this thread helped to understand what some terms means.
Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney)

I am loving this Terminology topic. Looks like this will be another great resource for me. By the way, I have added both on the "Member's Recommendation" post. Very useful resources. Thank you.

Now I still would like to learn about PGP keys and how to sign it, but I don't know good tutorials about it in English.
-Use google translation for the Indonesian version on the original post. It helps. The easy way to use the translation is...
In google chrome browser
# Right click anywhere on the page
# Find "Translate to English" from the toll-tip box
# Left click on "Translate to English"

The entire page will be translated to English.

As far as I know Hilariousandco checks everything, he can't just trace 200+ accounts without investigating at their posts thoroughly... (He is like Robert Langdon)...  Smiley
When I think about a mod the first one comes in my mind is Hilariousandco because I see him very active in the forum. I like it calling him  Robert Langdon  Smiley

So in other words, reporting without a valid comment (on the report section) will always ends up as a bad report?

It's not like that... We always look at the reported posts even if it is a blank report... If it's an obvious spam, then it should be deleted... But if you would report it the way those ICO shills are doing (Reporting posts that they can't answer themselves, or reporting posts that would
open their can of worms), then it is either ignored or labeled as bad, it is almost like reporting without any basis...

MODS don't just label a report "bad" without looking into it...
Ok, this makes good sense.

I believe Hilariousandco and you are global mod. You guys have more control than local mod like Flying Hellfish

It's pretty clear to me after reading all these feedbacks is, different mods has different views judging a report and they response different as well.
