I hope you are right as lack of "my 2 cents" makes me worried :Grin
2522  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC rise from the ashes? on: June 27, 2014, 12:40:39 AM
We are in the dispair phase. It will rise again but will take some time.

Despair phase? Week or two after going up 40-50%. Some despair that.
2523  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 27, 2014, 12:29:39 AM
I've noticed a trend on this subforum.

If the price is going down, the bears are nowhere to be found on this sub.  But when the price starts to go up (mysteriously), the bears swoosh in with their charts and try to tell you why it's all a mirage and we're going to be going down again soon.

 Roll Eyes

Ive noticed one thing - 99.9999% of this forum posts what fits their current positions  Grin

some known early adopters are dumping, and many  other adopters/investors/developers are slowly losing faith (one of them speaking), Bitcoin needs another bubble ASAP, bubbles are the only thing keeps Bitcoin ongoing.

Bitcoin days destroyed says differently.

So please shut up.

Hows litecoin doing, btw?

Its like two of you changed your heads in last few weeks. You were as annoying 2 months ago as he is now  Grin

Dude, wtf are you talking about?  I never pumped litecoin.

If you are referring to when I was a bear while the trend was down, then sorry I annoyed you.

You were a bear at last like 100$ of downtrend and was calling 300 to not hold while we were in accumulation phase at 440-450$. YOu shorted 700 coins at 460-470 ffs  Grin
2525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 27, 2014, 12:16:03 AM
Never said he's wrong. You said he's the best trader on TradingView, I implied it's weird that the best trader experienced an 80% drawdown thanks to leverage.

Not sure if it's actually the same guy.

I think "Idiot McMargincall" just quoted the tradingview guy, kinda like a rallying cry.

(emphasis on "crying")
He at least claims to be: http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/23k3dt/ive_been_projecting_a_continuation_of_this_rally/cgxuqou

AFAIK he also has managed to have a 80% drawdown from 35k to 7.5k recently. Regardless of his current prediction and its outcome, if this kind of discipline is what the best BTC trader on TradingView has to offer, I wonder what the others look like.

Says the guy who said bitcoin would collapse at $70.  Come on man, tell us why he's wrong? Lol
I said it would collapse at 130; it did collapse, yet not as far as I thought. It also didn't cause me to suffer any losses. Not that this ad hominem has to do with the argument.

Why are you being so frantically antagonistic of late?

Maybe you didn't suffer any losses, but you were so loud the days before that probably quite a few users suffered listening your "smart" moderator statements. Got the point?
Sorry to anybody who shorted solely based on what I said and didn't employ risk management on the position. I am also sorry if the "Moderator" or "Hero Member" or "Donator" titles lend some sort of authority; I'd take them off for most of my posts if I could. Someone suggested I create an alt account and post on that one, perhaps that would be the way to go since people are taking so much issue with it.

At the same time, I always advised against leverage and shorting, but I guess that doesn't count.

Shame we have to keep derailing debates towards ad hominem attacks.

Edit: Also sorry for saying "the best" when it was indeed "one of the best", I misremembered the quote.

You were troll last summer. Nothing more, nothing less.

You have nice posts these days, some of them pretty informative but last summer you were fonzie with moderator sign by his name and nothing else.

I've been here for quite some time and I agree with Shroomskit.  You can lay claim to keeping "[your] mind agile and free from cultist's poisonous thoughts" but your actions speak otherwise.
This is just untrue. Only recently have I made a bullish case based on my technical analysis here and here for instance.

I'll admit that I have a natural tendency to be more on the bearish/cautious side with Bitcoin especially with regard to my posts here, and this is attributed to three factors:

1) Humans have an aversion to losses that is psychologically greater than the reward from equal wins
2) Bitcoin has brief trending periods in which it trends strongly to the upside followed by long counter trend periods where it declines or does not do much of anything
3) There is plenty of bullish commentary at almost all times, and thus I simply do not feel the need to rehearse all that

I rarely ever defend myself and I won't continue to do so further (just send me a PM if you want to talk), but this sort of knee-jerk reaction is something I see happening not only with myself but also other mentally similar and outspoken traders like oda.krell and TERA constantly, and perhaps this will explain at least my side better.

PS: Have you ever noticed that trader almost sounds like traitor? Think on it. Cheesy

You'll never ever have any credibility after trolling/predicting Bitcoin apocalypse at 70$. You were barely better than fonzie back than.

It was much more legit to be bear back then than it's now.
2530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think U.S. Marshall auction 29,656.51306529 bitcoins will affect price? on: June 22, 2014, 11:34:13 PM
indeed

Anybody that has ever been to a well advertised estate auction or real estate auction knows this one simple fact:

Auctions will sell any item, whether it's a house or grandma's old furniture, for at least a few percent OVER what it's worth.

The competitive nature of auctions in combination with the publicity this auction is garnering? Yeah, there's no doubt in my mind these coins are going to sell for slightly over market value.

Dumped on the market? Not likely.

If I was a betting man, which I am, I'd say within a week after the auction results, the price of BTC goes up 2-5%, at least.

In fact, I'll wager 1 BTC that it does.

Anyone want to take that bet?

Zhis is not the auction you're talking about. One bid, no changes.
2531  Economy / Speculation / Re: What a difference half a year makes... on: June 20, 2014, 02:18:43 AM
the average Bitcoiner will tell you " go fuck your self" and will add " what this PHD holder and nobel winner know about economics", in fact Bitcoin price is a bubble but it doesn't mean that it will die, but it will settle and start a normal growth when it hits the real economy... see the bubble was because of the small userbase but when the user base is bigger and market is bigger it will harder to move the price 10X a year.

look at the weekly chart:

life cycle of a bubble

Well, if you want to play with bubble chart then that weekly one looks like perfect return to mean Wink

You remind me on windsjc when he went bear few weeks ago, lol. Sudden bold bearish statements, strong cockiness.. guess that ltc you bought affect you.

2533  Economy / Speculation / Re: If $537 fails to hold........ on: June 15, 2014, 07:49:53 AM
There is always some drama in Bitcoin land. I really wouldn't exclude anything at least until we see this first FBI coin auction. I wouldn't be shocked to see price being pushed down more so big boys could get those coins cheaper.
2534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 14, 2014, 09:56:31 PM

.................

. but you do NOT really  have much of a plan for where you are going

wtf? he is running to the hills, why so annoying?

morrowind, elder scrolls?

get a life.

He said that he cashed out half of his BTC yesterday b/c he has a plan to play with the proceeds for two years.  I said that his plan seems to be very short sighted, especially given the likely direction of BTC in the next six months.  Therefore I asked him where he planned to put his investments, and he failed/refused to answer, and instead stuck to his original framing about how wonderful he is., etc etc etc.. for making so much money, while he left quite a bit on the table through neglect and/or lack of foresight, so it seems.

other posters mentioned morrowind and elder scrolls.... b/c I do NOT know WTF are morrowind and elder scrolls... even though those topics may be relevant.   Cheesy

Regarding, "get a life"  Yes, we each have lives and we choose how to spend our lives, and part of my life, at the moment includes posting on this forum and responding to relevant issues... and attempting to contribute to the forum (thread) in a productive direction.

I have it in my bank account where I pay my bills and pay for goods with €....

The best of my current bank accounts only pays about 1% interest, and possibly you could get 3 or 4% if you have some kind of premium bank account and if that is what floats your boat, then who am I to say?

BTW, I dont take the interest that the bank gives me, this is against my believes and it is called riba

Pretty stupid of you.

yea sure, being Muslim is stupid Wink

Yes you are an idiot.

Better being idiot than ginger though Tongue
2535  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 14, 2014, 06:20:00 PM
Another reason for the dump today  Grin
Spain lost again Holland, and a lot of whales bet on Spain ( I know one of them). So whales need fiat to pay for their bet yesterday, of course then they dump BTC whatever its price.

That's just beyond stupid.
2536  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crowdfunding the first public btc library in a region hit by devastating floods on: June 14, 2014, 02:19:17 AM
As a Bosnian, I'd like to urge everyone to donate, floods were devastated on whole Balkan and Doboj was one of the most hit cities, the water was few meters high in some areas, it came so fast many people couldn't hide and got killed.

2538  Economy / Speculation / Re: FBI coins could sell for a premium on: June 13, 2014, 12:19:21 PM
Some people don't understand that the auction is 'dedicated'. There's a 16th June deadline for the 200k$ deposit.
Only a limited number of people with deep pockets will get to participate in the auction. And they'll only get the coins after they transfer the whole sum, sometime in early July.
But they have to place the bids on the 27th June, so they have to bid well below market price in case the market drops further in the meantime.

You're silly if you think people ready to buy these will bitch around 15-20$. They get lot of coins on fixed price, without slippage that would make price go up hundreds of dollars on the exchange.
2539  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: June 13, 2014, 03:32:30 AM
There's probably some law that force them to sell any confiscated goods. Just like they sell other stuff, they have to sell Bitcoin too, I guess.
